This was the worst hamburger I've ever had! Absolutely bland tasting and they don't even have real ketchup or mustard! They make their own, that's fine but they should offer normal ketchup and mustard too. I think most people like dill pickles on their hamburger well, guess what not at Dempsey's. So if you want traditional condiments you might consider taking your own. However on a positive note the salmon sandwich is wonderful. Except when the server says with no remorse whatsoever we don't have any salmon.

I think this is the best burger place in Wichita. It could be a bit more affordable but it's probably a good thing I can't afford to go there all the time. Greasy extravagance just the way I like it.

Disappointed. Went based on a rave recommendation. Egg burger was bland, nothing special. Picante burger tasted like raw bell peppers with a hint of meat as it was basically just a pile of raw peppers and a bunch of chili paste stuff. Fries were interesting but the sauces were really not that impressive. It was so loud we had to lean across the table to talk. Super uncomfortable chairs and climate. Waited forever for our food. Unfortunately, I think this may be one of those "hip" places that's hugely overrated but somehow loved by many. We won't be back.

In town to drop our son off at WSU, we decided to try out some of the local food offerings. House burger was nicely cooked and price was a bit high, but after tasting burger, it was definitely worth it. Next time we are in town to visit our son, we'll swing back by.

The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 3 is because we've had great experiences in the past. Our latest trip was tasty burgers as usual but it took us over an hour to get our food, even after waiting for a table. 1 bartender for the whole restaurant and it's already packed with people. Hard to say when we'll be motivated to come back.

I have been frequenting here for years. Love that they are open until 2am. Always have great food and exceptionally rude service. Front of house is always nice + carry out is great. Often times eating in, wait/bar staff have made me leave with a negative impression.

I was surprised by the fact they have a basement. Which was where me and my son were seated. Service was very prompt and courteous. The food was well worth the cost. And the different sauces they served with the truffle fries was very good. I really enjoyed the garlic truffle sauce. I will be making a habit of going here. Nice gem in this town. My only complaint is the seating. I would have rather enjoyed being seated on the patio with chairs that have backs. I'm not one for bar stool style. I much prefer a backed chair to relax in before eating.

I enjoyed Dempsey's burgers. This was my second time there and they had a big variety of burgers. The place was a bit small. We sat upstairs this time but my first time there we sat down stairs. Their fries are great! Especially the truffle fries!We had two different burgers . They we cooked perfect'. A bit over salted and seasoned for my taste but everyone has differing taste! Would definitely ear there again.

I had the mushroom Swiss burger with truffle fries. Both were really tasty! What kept me from giving this review a 5 is the fact that my order was given to the wrong table, prolonging my wait. Additionally, while the flavor of the burger was great, the bun was super soggy. Overall, I'd recommend this to anyone, just some minor tweaks would have made it a 5 for me.

Burger was above average. I had the bacon mushroom Swiss on a pretzel bun. Cooked to a good medium, plenty of toppings, juicy. At the end though the bun definitely overpowered everything, but the end bites of any sandwich usually aren't perfect. Service was about average, but them fries though. Those are definitely the fries I want for the rest of my life. If I lived closer I'd probably be a regular.

Full disclosure, I'm just a plain Jane kinda girl. Folks who like fancy dips and toppings may really like this place. The burger patty was juicy and thick. The fries were delicious. My problem is I didn't care for the house made ketchup or other dips. Give me some good ol' Heinz and I'm grand. We sat in the basement because it was crowded. The stools are terribly uncomfortable for this old gal. I kept readjusting as my tailbone was blazing. Our service was good. The waitress was there for refills and food came out relatively quickly. At $45 with the tip, our 2 classic burgers, 2 regular fries, 2 sodas and 1 pice of pie was awfully pricey. Not sure that we will return, but glad to say we did it. The neighborhood the restaurant is in is great for a walk after dinner. We've been slowly trying all the spots in Clifton Square because the area is so quaint.

I have been to Dempsey's several times for a meal and always had a good one. Their Angus burgers are very good quality, and these and other menu selections are good. Pricey for a burger at about $8 and up ... plus extra for sides, in an environment that is cozy but with no particular charms in terms of ambience.

They always have a unique burger on special (for example today was the bourbon chili burger).They have a great selection of craft beer and make a lot of good mixed drinks as well. Charming location in Clifton Square, and it's especially fun to hang out here in the warm weather.

It was so good! Not just your average burger. The burger and fries are worth the tad extra you pay because they are so unique and delicious! And when I say tad extra, that's what I mean, cause they are well priced. Our ticket for the two of us was only $26. All in all, a good place and ill be back.

Excellent burger, medium rare. Fries with truffle oil - truly as addictive as heroin. Recommended to me as the number 2 burger in Wichita. Their #1 closed. So until we find a better burger, this is Wichita's reigning champ as far as I'm concerned. Edit: Supper wasn't as good as lunch. Edit: Great lunch. They accommodate larger parties easily. Now I need liposuction and roto rooter on my arteries, but I can die happy.

This place never disappoints, even on a gloomy old Tuesday. food took a little longer to get out than I expected, but once it came out it was all fresh and hot. I don't remember Dempsey on the list but it should've been right up there at number one. It's a small restaurant and so expect it to be crowded, but it's great service and good hamburger food and won't break your bank.

I have made it one of my missions in life to try as many mushroom Swiss burgers as I can, and Dempsey’s was perhaps one of the best I’ve ever had (they even add bacon. BACON). When I try a mushroom Swiss burger, I can only hope the fries are just as good, and this place delivered. My sweet potato fries came out with five different dipping sauces. I also tried my friend’s Truffle fries, with no regard to portion size. Dempsey’s isn’t the best place for kiddos - but the staff was very kind and accommodated our hangry 1-year-old. When I eat good food, I know there’s a God. When I eat some of the best food on this planet, I know God loves me. This was just such an occasion. Thanks, Dempsey’s. I’ll be back.

Excellent selection of gourmet burgers and a variety of other items (try the duck fat fries!). Kitchen capacity may be a bit low for peak times, my last visit was made a bit difficult by a 40-minute wait from order to food delivery (when my (fairly large, to their credit) group needed to be served and on our way in an hour). Though it took a while to get our food, it was all excellent and cooked as ordered. Higher kitchen capacity would probably solve all related issues. Parking can be a challenge here, but just use neighborhood street parking if the Clifton Square lot is full and you won't be far away.

This is the perfect place to try when you have picky kids, but the adults just can't eat another fast food burger. The tomatoes are right out of the local garden. The truffle fries and dipping sauces are a beautiful change from the typical mass produced tasteless french fries we're used to eating. They have a nice beer selection, again a place for both adults who love grocery store beer and those who like drinking a sour, IPA porter, red etc. I had the portabella burger and it was outstanding!

Went there last night and got the Hawaiian burger. It was amazing!!! The duck fat fries were so good, same with the truffle fries which we're my favorite! The sweet potato fries were so good, I'm not a fan of regular sweet potato, but the fire are so good!!! My kids got their kids cheese burger and they loved it too! If you order a drink from the bar it is strong so you definitely get your moneys worth there too! Service was great! We loved everything about our experience here!

Quality burger! I enjoyed the egg burger with lettuce, tomatoes and grilled onions minus cheese. Perfect bun for the ingredients. Bun did not get soggy. Ive never been more disappointed in an order!ordered through Doordash and was greatly underwhelmed with my food! My Bacon flight was a big let down. The bacon was so thin you could see through it and was half raw. Had to pick through and pull off the few bits that were actually cooked and I felt comfortable eating. My Bourbon apple brie burger was eh. The apples were a strange rubbery texture, with seeds and cores left in the apples placed on the burger! The bacon on my burger however WAS actually cooked! After removing the main ingredient from my burger it was just a over priced bacon brie burger.

The burgers are good but they don't have any accomodations for young children. There is no where to put an infant car seat and no diaper changing stations in the bathroom. Just be aware before you go.

What horrible service! This is the 3rd time and we should have known better. There wasn't a single table in the restaurant but us. There was one girl flirting with the 2 cooks that were less than 10 feet away from our table. When we asked the girl who sat us where a server was after no one came to the table she responded that she had already worked today and our server would be with us in a little bit. Unbelievable that with no one in the restaurant your service can be that bad. We will never return, those girls working should be fired if that is how you treat your customers, especially when you work for tips.

I really liked Dempseys, pretty good, I ordered Medium well; tasty, but not very juicy as they described a Kobe burger would be. I will definitely try them a second time. The service was A+. I hope to return in two weeks and try another Kobe or Angus burger.

Good food. On this particular night, they appeared to be short-staffed but our waitress was friendly and did a good job. We were seated in the basement, right under a heating vent that seemed to never turn off. Our whole table was uncomfortably hot (not warm) for the duration of the meal.

The burgers were good, sweet potato fries were good, I had them tossed with cinnamon and sugar. My husband had the picante burger, it had lots of jalapenos. The chili sauce we had them put it in container on the side. The catsup and mayo that was served on the side were not very good had an odd taste. However I did not realize that until I had put it on my burger. So I believe it would have tasted better had I not used them. This was a Saturday evening, our table was right in front of the kitchen. In the corner, that is viewable by patrons was a mess. Food was all over the floor, and what looked like a rack. It looked like discarded stuff from meal prep. Chips, fries and parts of bread all over. This was very concerning as if the kitchen is taken care of this way and left like this, how is the cleanliness of cooking and handling the food. I had to be careful walking to the restroom as the floor was greasy from staff walking back and forth from kitchen. As a result, that is why the stars are low.

The burgers look appetizing but to me they are just OK. There are far better burger options in Wichita. I also don’t get the infatuation with Cheddar cheese. American is not an option. Cheddar doesn’t melt that well. Is greasy and has a weird texture when melted. I asked for American and settled with another cheese and was still served with Cheddar on my burger. That was after waiting 45 minutes for our food. I left the office at 11:45 and returned at 1:30 because of the slow service and the restaurant wasn’t that busy. That is not acceptable during the work week. My honest opinion is Dempsey’s is more focused on being local/hipster than service. That is the perception I got from our waitress who never once apologized for the slow service. So just OK. There are better options.

We have been several times and each time has been different. The first time everything was fantastic. The burger was cooked perfectly, the fries were crispy. The waitress was fast and we enjoyed our dinner. The next time we went, service was slow, they were out of the burger I wanted. I chose the salmon burger, and it was delicious! The seasoning on it was so good. This last time we went, we sat at the table after we ordered for almost 30 mins. The waitress never came by. I don't think we ever saw her again. We finally left after 30 mins waiting. I'll never know how the food we ordered tasted because we never got it. We may try again because the first two times the burgers were good. But the service seriously needs some work.
