Just moved up here from Austin and I've been missing good Mexican food, this place is great! Salsa is excellent, margaritas are excellent, staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing, they play properly themed music. 5 stars all around food alcohol service and ambiance :)

It was good for a quick bite of some Americanized Mexican food. Decent grub, friendly service, and our food was incredibly fast. I think our plates arrived like 3 minutes after we ordered. I'd definitely go back.

They are always amazing. Not a vegetarian, but I cannot recommend the vegetarian combo enough! Go there! The food is delicious and the service is friendly and quick, what more do you need?

Great restaurant and I would as well as have recommended it to anyone. I have had the chipotle cream enchiladas a bit too many times but they are great. Few better alternatives anywhere near by or even in the city. Maybe my favorite Mexican place in all of Kansas City.

Great Mexican restaurant! This has quickly become one of my favorites. The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. The breakfast nachos are awesome and a huge portion. The marinated tacos (al pastor?) are fantastic. The tamales are better than the average. Definitely would recommend!

The food is great, the service is absolutely terrible. There's 1 server that is ok, but the rest will take 20 minutes just to get drinks. You'll be there for quite a while, and that's even when it's really slow. Coming from someone who's worked in the food service industry for over a decade, get ready to be real annoyed.

Probably the numero uno Mexican restaurant in the area! Moved from the desert Southwest, and Chelly's is a taste of home. None of that bland, nasty stuff that other "Mexican" restaurants do. Tasty and spicy, and also affordable. Highly recommend.

I'd like to give more stars but I had lunch today and Ordered the Steak Fajita Salad. I Called in and asked does it comes with beans on it bc I didn't want any beans. She said it does not have beans in it. When I arrive to pick up my order it was ready at the time quoted however my Steak was overcooked,grisly, and tough. They forgot my guacamole and it had black beans in my food. The steak also lacked flavor. First time there and I was disappointed.

I was training in a different building a co worker took us here for lunch. Cannot express enough how good the food was. The portion they gave us for lunch is realistically a dinner meal or a meal for two. Flavors are everywhere with every bite. I do recommend this place if your looking for Mexican on a dime wage. Don't be fooled or scared of location it is a small diner with plenty of charm. I gave a 4 for speed probably not their fault but it did take a while for our food to come out. Don't let that stop you though, you need to try this place.

Normally Chelly's has been a good place to visit. Good food and good service. However, after seating us this time, the staff forgot about us and no one came to get a drink order, or a food order. 45 mind later someone finally asked us what we were waiting on (like we were there just hanging out without food or drinks). And we finally got some service after that. Disappointing.

Decided to try this place with some good reviews. I called to order for take out and they asked to put me on hold, no big deal. But I was on hold for 10 minutes and could hear everything on the other line (which sounded like worker banter). I guess I was forgotten.

It was ok.. the food was decent. The salsa. So I asked for the hot salsa, it reminded me of tacobell Diablo sauce. So that didn't help much. There's better places, but wasn't that great. Service is a 50/50. Depends on who you get. Was decent.

Amazing food and you get what you pay for in portion size, enough to have leftovers. We went close to closing time but the service was fast and we got everything we asked for. The waitress remembered our whole tables order and nothing was forgotten. Definitely eating there often.

They have a lunch menu with most items between $6-7. Decor is ok but the service was very friendly and timely. Worth checking out! I tried the chimichanga and it was tasty. Serving portions are large and filling. Yep

We were craving tacos and saw the reviews and decided to try this place. We were not disappointed. We both got street tacos. He got one of each, pork, steak and chicken and I got the pork and steak. So yummy! The charro beans were nice and smoky. Rice was flavored well and the margarita was yummy too! Highly recommend! It's not much to look at from the outside but food was worth the drive!

I called in an order to pick up at 8:30pm and was told the order would be ready by 8:40pm. When I arrived at the restaurant at 8:46pm, the door was locked. A bartender who had glanced up when I drove up failed to glance up again as I stood at the door for a minute or so knocking loudly. I drove around the building and then tried knocking again at 8:53pm just missing catching an employee who was letting diners out. The same thing occurred. Upon writing a Facebook message to the restaurant, I didn't receive a response.
