You've heard the rumors and they're all true, this is one of the best restaurants in Kansas City. Phenomenal seafood, excellent cuts of steak, fresh oysters, lobster mac and cheese and panko fried jumbo shrimp keep me coming back. They have a diverse selection of wine, refreshing cocktails and single malts. When you get the bill don't be shocked it's worth whatever they charge you. I will be back at least twice a year. Almost forgot to mention the waitstaff is fast friendly and attentive.

We celebrated our anniversary here. Not only did they decorate the table for us, but they also offered a free champagne toast or desert option. Dinner was a bit slow to arrive (they were very busy, and I didn't think the wait was too long at all), so they threw in free soup. Fantastic service, food, hospitality, and atmosphere. We'll definitely visit again. Btw, I rarely offer five stars, but Bristol, our waiter, and the rest of the staff definitely deserve it. They helped make a memorable evening.

We were out in Leawood area this weekend and stopped by The Bristol for lunch. As always the food and service were top notch. The gumbo was fantastic. I would give 5 stars but the machine they use at the bar to squeeze fresh juice was extremely annoying so had to go with 4 stars for this visit. Two wishes, one bring back the shrimp and black bean chili from years ago and two open a location north of the river in Kansas City!

This rating is a rarity in that I just don't give out many 5 star reviews. But the evening we spent at the Bristol was pure delight. I made an online reservation admitting that we were celebrating an anniversary. Not expecting much more than a nod to the occasion, we were taken aback when they welcomed us with a happy anniversary and led us to our specially decorated table. The ensuing meal and complimentary dessert were wonderful. The beramundi, halibut and lobster mac were all superb. Nick the server was fun and efficient and the food was timely and good. I can't remember a better time in a restaurant. Our gratitude for a memorable evening is heartfelt. They have earned our intention to make a visit there for special occasions an regular event.

This was my first time to Bristol and I will absolutely be adding it to my restaurant rotation. First the biscuits were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, almost like a cookie, very tasty. We then had the tempura shrimp roll as an appetizer. There was a high rice:other ingredients ratio, but they were super fresh and a great starter. I had the Seafood Mixed Grill which was an excellent sampler. As far as the seafood goes, everything was excellent and it came with a creole remoulade and mango tarter sauce that were both fabulous. The Yukon mash was probably the best mashed potatoes I’ve had at a restaurant, and I do not say that lightly. So creamy and full of flavor. My date had the shellfish cioppino which, I tried the mussels and they were extremely tender and the sauce was amazing. The dessert menu had lots of options, but we were unfortunately too full to try. But it gives us a reason to return. Service was excellent. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Very good experience.

Wasn't real impressed. Sliders were over done, dry and tasteless. Chicken and pork skewers also cooked to death, dry and tough. Cheese and fruit trays were beautiful and fresh. Scones were delicious! Probably wouldn't go back. Maybe they just don't handle large groups we'll. We had our own room and there were about 25 of us.

My first experience at Bristol was fantastic. My mom recommended it as a birthday meal and she brought me here because it's her favorite place to dine. My waiter, Christian, was beyond pleasant. I could easily see myself being his friend. He made me feel so peaceful, and confident. This is not to say I am inexperienced. I have eaten fine food in many restaurants and I know how I like my steak. However, Christian worked like a man who works in a good kitchen should. I was always attended to, my drink was full and tasted delicious and timing was impeccable. I actually did order the steak and lobster which were both fantastic and my sides were paired wonderfully. I had a nice creme brulee for dessert and couldn't thank Bristol enough for the pleasant experience. Will definitely return.

I love going to the Bristol. Their dinner is amazing, no matter what I order. I enjoy their complimentary biscuits with butter. Servers are always friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They have a great happy hour, too. Their brunch can be hit or miss- it's pricey, and they don't have as much selection as they used to (I miss their variety of sweet breads/pastries and cold fish). Their pasta dishes are good, but they are not as high quality and fresh as they are when you order them off the menu at dinner. Dessert buffet and waffles are amazing, and worth the trip alone. I usually only go to their brunch when I get a coupon, just because sometimes it's not worth it for the price.

Have never had a bad meal at either Bristol location we've patronized. The food and service are always top notch (thank you, Todd). Our booth was a little small and tight. That is only drawback. We were celebrating an anniversary and delighted by the complimentary champagne toast. Warning: the Bristol Biscuit is amazing bit don't fill up on them because your meal will be even better!

Upscale seafood in landlocked KC but still tastes fresh. An oyster bar, fantastic wine list, and well prepared food. The fresh biscuits as a starter get the night started right. The lobster mac n cheese is a classic side dish, and a tough choice as the crab cakes could be better. Also, their brunch is a bit pricey but worth every penny.

Great. Service was prompt but not pushy, we got a reservation via Google, which was honoured. I would have loved an oyster-based main dish, but no such luck. My seafood mix dish was great, my bride's salmon was great. The photos are a unique, if off, bubbly drink, and the creme bruleé.

Always very good seafood, but the acoustics under the dome make it easier to hear people on the other side of the restaurant than my wife across the table. The domed ceiling is the culprit. For now on, I will request a seat in the East wing where it is more comfortable hearing. The food and service is always a 5 star affair.

Can get loud in the main room with the dome, so if you are looking for a quieter setting ask for something in the room with the fireplace.

After a very bad experience at the Power and Light location one year ago I told myself I would never go to Bristol again. After being invited I decided to go with some family and the Leawood location was very good. The gumbo was some of the best I've ever tasted. Everyone at the table was pleased. They weren't real busy when we were there mid to late afternoon and our server was very attentive and did a fantastic job. The management downtown did reach out after a not favorable review however I never replied. Maybe I should. I may give downtown another chance at some point, I just don't know right now.

I recently had my first experience with Bristol Seafood Grill. I was here to attend a work lunch meeting, and while I absolutely love seafood, I typically avoid it at restaurants simply because of how landlocked we are. There is no need to avoid Bristol Seafood Grill. As a table we shared plump and delicious crab cakes as well as perfectly fried calamari for our appetizers, I personally started my meal with the Lobster Bisque, and while i feel like it could have had just a tad more seasoning to it, it was still rather delicious. The rock star on a plate however was the PERFECTLY grilled swordfish served with the honey and sriracha carrots and Parmesan crusted potatoes. Swordfish is one of my favorite meals, and this plate was of food was so perfectly cooked, seasoned, and plated. I loved every bite.

Myself and a group of friends visited the restaurant for a birthday gathering and the experience was not the greatest. We felt like we were being rushed along due to another party having a reservation for the room. The reservation was for 2 hours after we arrived and we were made very aware of it. The waiter was rushing us to no end and the hostess was very rude and proceeded to rush us as well. 2 out of the party were charged incorrectly and the waiter showed no empathy for his error due to rushing us. He made it clear that he knew he had made the mistake but did not inform us of it. Even with us being rushed the other party was not even there and we left well after the time that they claimed they would be there. I will NOT be visiting this establishment in the future and will let everyone know how horrible we were treated that evening.

We are loyal Bristol customers however I wanted to share our experience last night. My son and I stopped for dinner. Brent H was our server. He started out well but fizzled. I ordered an extra drink and waited...and waited....and waited for it to arrive. It was fairly busy last night but not complete mayhem. When Brent finally stopped by our table again I asked about my drink and his answer was 'they were swapping the keg' - uh, Brent, seriously? being a former bartender and server myself that is one of the oldest lines in the book. So after more sitting and waiting and one of the other servers noticed I was looking through the dining room for our missing server and asked if he could help. Relieved I asked about dessert for my son which he promptly provided. Brent - don't turn on the charm at the end expecting a big tip after being MIA for 45 minutes. You did not receive my typical generosity because you provided us poor service, period. I hope someone takes the time to coach you and you take accountability for your own actions. I tipped you because we do come on regularly and while you didn't earn what I gave you, the bartenders and the kitchen staff were not at fault. Next time I will ensure neither me or my family is seated in your area. Otherwise, food was excellent as always.

WOW best seafood I think hands down I’ve ever tried in the Midwest. I’m from Southern California so I’m VERY picky with my seafood. Everything was perfect. The rolls that come with the meal with the sweet butter were so delicious. I had the Swordfish with Lobster Mac & cheese as a side, also Shrimp Scampi for the appetizer. Phenomenal. I can’t wait to go back already! Only been one week. Our server was so helpful and informative, she knew the menu so well & told us a lot about all the types of fish they offered and the fresh fish that day. Just amazing. So glad I found this restaurant! Please give it a try. You won’t regret it!

My husband loves the Seared Scallops. The ambience is pleasant and comfortable. The wait staff is attentive.

Great place for happy hour/ appetizers, well worth the visit with a great menu. I highly recommend the seafood here, it's always fresh, made well and has great flavor. I really enjoy eating here on every occasion and season.

Small chilled shellfish platter and a beer was $70, expected a little more food for the price. Food was ok but oysters were ridiculously small and weren't shucked properly and crab had no flavor and was overcooked. Seafood in Kansas though...
