Family and I went on a very busy Sunday evening and had a great meal and great service. Between the four of us we had baby back ribs, brisket, pulled pork, burnt ends and hot links and we all shared off each other plates. All the meats were delicious, 5⭐️ on the meat. Sides and sauces were ok but tasted liked something from the grocery store. That’s the reason for the 4 star review overall. Our waiter Andrew was friendly and kept our drinks filled. Awesome BBQ will definitely be back.

I've always loved their chicken halves - the meat is always moist and tender melt-in-your-mouth. Tonight I ordered it with St. Louis for the first time and I'm glad I did, they were the best ribs I've had in years. They're super meaty and just like the chicken the meat is soft and tender and just falls off the bone. I wish I had tried them sooner but over the years I got kinda burned out on ribs after eating so many that were either sickeningly greasy or leathery and stringy. The sweet potato fries are also top notch.

Do not order the egg rolls. The pulled pork has cheese init that resebles the kind you get out of a jar. Who puts runny cheese on pulled pork? Root beer has a funny taste also. Nothing special about it.

We had the most amazing server. In fact, she did such a great job we tipped extra and spoke with her manager about how wonderful she the service was throughout our dinner. The food was delicious. It is rare to find someone that truly seems to enjoy being a server but she had a great attitude. This was our first visit but we will be visiting again in the future.

Our first time there and it was pretty good! Service was great. The food was good, as well. We got the 3-meat plate and shared it. The burnt ends were awesome. We also had the ribs and brisket. The ribs were very good, but the brisket tasted like it was warmed up from yesterday. I'd switch out for a different meat next time. I will go back, though.

Loved it! Was in Lawrence for two weeks. Wish I had time to check out multiple barbeque places, but I heard this place was one of the best in Lawrence. Bigg's did not disappoint. I had the burnt ends and Saint Louis Ribs. I also mixed the corn bread muffin, honey, and baked beans as I always do and this mixture at Bigg's was one of the best I've ever tasted!

Food was good the couple times I went but I haven't been back since I literally got served a fried cockroach right on top of my pile of french fries. The server was mortified when I showed her and the manager came out a bit later to apologize. I think they were as disturbed as I was, but honestly, it was right on top of my fries. I saw it before I even touched my food. How did this get served to a customer? What condition is your kitchen in that this happens?

My husband and I went to eat at Big's for our 3rd time. Our previous 2 visit were good. The food was delicious. We went back for our 3rd visit after several months and it was the worst date night ever. We had gotten our order to go so we wasn't able to complain about the food and wasted money and terrible food. I ordered chicken strips and they wasn't cooked all the way done. They was still raw looking on the inside. My husband got the chicken fried chicken and it was extremely over cooked. Don't forget the onion rings, they was absolutely disgusting and didn't at all have the appearance of onion rings. Someone literally just dipped a handful into the batter and then took that handful and fried it up like that so our onion rings seriously came out in huge chunks that was double the size of my chicken strips. With the onion rings being lumped together like that, they didn't even get fully cooked in the middle. Total waste of our money. The food used to be good but this was the worst food I have ever gotten served at a restaurant and had we stayed there to eat, I would have complained and got my money back. We don't plan on going back.

Overall a great experience! Lots of food for the money. 4 homemade sauces, all delicious! Beer was cold and the atmosphere was warm. Very friendly staff. Food was very good. Brisket was a little dry for my taste, but the burnt ends were awesome. I like the little bowl of free fries to start with so that you can taste all the sauces before your meal. All in all a good place to spend an evening and enjoy some bbq!!

I would give them 0 stars due to management! We got food poisoning after we ate here and instead of working with us to solve the issue or refund us our money like REAL restaurant managers do for customer service, he instead mocked us and claimed we were lying. “Food poisoning doesn’t happen that fast” according to him when it can happen as little as 30 minutes. He claims no one else got food poisoning (as if he’d know within an hour) as if it MATTERS. Food poisoning can happen in MANY ways. Any REAL manager of a restaurant would know that! He said he needed HOSPITILIZATION PROOF for his “insurance” and told me how I’m not going to sit here telling him he has bad customer service. He was sitting here arguing with me saying “there’s nothing he can do” and didn’t care if we said we wouldn’t come back. Asked for proof of where we sat, our waiter, our card number, names, and more. Claimed he would take down my information and call me back. We will see. I was a manager of a restaurant for AWHILE, this is NOT how you treat your paying customers!!!! But I forgot, he was in the business for 40 years so apparently he knows everything. How dare you sit here and accuse your customers of lying. You NEVER do that. Anyone with REAL customer service knows that!!! I will never be coming back here and I will tell everyone I know about this place. WORST PLACE. And on top of that, the food SUCKED!! Going to report this place for health violations!

Love the original sauce! Just the right mix of season and spice! I had the sparerib dinner with the coleslaw and jalapeño corn bread muffin. Outstanding presentation and flavors. The boys had burgers that were incredibly large on flavor and appearance. Very generous side portions. The homemade root beer is a must too! So happy to find my new favorite BBQ place!

We wanted to try KC BBQ when in the area and tried out Bigg's. The restaurant was a bit chilly but nicely decorated. The kids were happy to see the fries delivered to the table. We tried the BBQ for 2 to sample a little bit of everything. Our favorites were the burnt ends and the baby back ribs. For sides we ordered green beans (nothing special but good), the cheesy corn (too cheesy for my taste and wouldn't order again), and the BBQ mac n cheese (very creamy and tasty). The corn bread was a bit dry but had good flavor. My son had the kids burger which didn't sit well with him and my daughter had the corn dogs. Decent beer selection.

Food is descent but not fantastic. Nice big portions but quality is just slightly above average. I think the burnt ends are the best of their meats. Fries are homemade and good. Sauces are good. Bottom line... If you are really hungry and want a good value, Biggs is a good choice.

Bigg's is really, really good. We had the smoked bacon meatballs for an appetizer. They arrived blazing hot and swimming in a wonderful dark gravy. You get a small amount of French fries to test the sauces. The sauces were good. The best results were achieved by blending the regular with the spicy sauce. This was some of the best BBQ meat I've ever had at retail. The smoked chicken was perfect! Perfect! The spare ribs were ok. The membrane was not removed from the back side of the rack. It's a ten second maneuver to remove it and allows seasonings to better penetrate the meat. But still, they tasted pretty good. The ribs were the perfect doneness for KCBS competition ribs. The sides were good, but the portions of BBQ meat were enough on their own. All of the sides were tasty. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It's really expensive to do BBQ right. However, I felt like we got a good value for the money here. Excellent! (But not quite perfect.)

Wow! I'm left completely speechless after my experience. We ordered through EatStreet and both of our meals were incorrect. It was already 8 PM but we called Biggs anyway and the manager answered and was very understanding. Before my fiance hung up she could hear him already giving out instructions. When we got a knock on our door 30 minutes later it was the manager himself bringing us our food at 9:45 PM (they close at 10 btw) I cannot express how amazing this service was. Thank you!! Also the food was steaming hot

Recommended by our hotel FD staff for good bbq. Comfortable atmosphere and excellent bbq. The combo pulled pork and baby back ribs was delicious. Multiple options for sides. Coleslaw and baked beans were right on :) I would recommend this spot for bbq to anyone traveling through Lawrence. Prices very reasonable also!

I’m going to start this review with the service was awesome the waiter went up and above for us, our appetizer was extremely good we had the nacho fries, my wife ate the 2 meat platter, the meat was flavorless and dry, she had the sausage and brisket, following sides were potato salad and cheesy corn. EVERYTHING WAS BLAN! As for myself I had the meatloaf sandwich, I feel as though whomever seasoned it dumped a full bottle of seasoning in with the meatloaf, the Mac and cheese both smoked and deep fried was very blan as well, however the manager was nice, we didn’t have to pay for my wife’s food, I’ve had better BBQ.

Excellent Barbeque! We had a 10 person group so we tried several "for 2" meals with different meats. Burnt ends, brisket, ribs were as good as I have ever found. The service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. Plenty of TV's to watch games. I didn't expect this when we pulled up but don't let the small "bar" looking outside fool you! Top notch for family!

It was almost a 4-Star experience. I had the chicken breast, warm potato salad, cheesy corn casserole and peach cobbler. Good: The chicken breast was great! Moist and very tasty. The corn casserole was also good. Delivery was quick. Bad: The warm potato salad was runny. The peach cobbler left a lot to be desired. For the $5.00 price, it was maybe 1/2 cup serving. There was little to no “cobbler” to be found. Overall, I would dine in next time and choose a different side. Would pass on the cobbler. For the $28.00 price tag, I was very disappointed! Definitely not worth the delivery.

I have a hard time getting my boyfriend to try BBQ because he is a picky eater and will not eat anything with a bone attached to it. However, I ordered the Sampler for 2 from Biggs one night and he could not stop RAVING about their ribs! I was pleasantly surprised to see him eating meat off the bone! Their smoked mac and cheese is another favorite of ours. Biggs is definitely our favorite BBQ in Lawrence.

Nice sports bar type BBQ. Should have known when we walked into an empty BBQ during peak hours that it wasn't going to bode well. There is BBQ that you eat well past the point of pain because they have nailed it and you can't stop eating. There is BBQ that is so good that it brings everyone to the lunch room microwave when you heat it up, and tastes every bit as yummy when first served. Then there is BBQ that you don't finish and won't let waste space in your refrigerator. I left hungry and what remained was left behind. Hopefully this was an off-day for the place (does that happen in the BBQ world) and a return visit will rate higher.

I'd say this place is ok, but far too expensive for just being ok. Our server, Waverly, was very attentive, the restaurant was clean, and the portions were "Bigg". There were a few issues. The first complaint was the temperature of the food. We waited for our food for quite some time and were really surprised when it reached our table at room temperature. Second was the food itself. The "free fries" to try the bbq sauces came out stale. My husband said his brisket and ribs were awful. He didn't touch his meal after the first few bites. My sliced chicken was good as were the edible pieces of sausage I received, however there were quite a few overcooked/impossible to eat pieces. Third was the dessert. We ordered banana pudding and while the pudding itself was good, the wafer was essentially a rock. You literally could not bite through it. For management's reference, we ate here on 1•16•19 around 7 p.m. It was our first visit and likely our last. We felt the $68 price tag was far too expensive for the quality of food recieved.

You just might see some KU coaches or alumni there and the menu has some items you dont find at many other places in town if any. While the fries were crisp and the barbeque sauce trio fairly good. The burgers were nothing to brag about, if maybe even a bit of a let down. Their chicken fried steak was only good in the sense that I'm a salt lover, I'd still prefer Texas Roadhouse but enjoyed it. I can't say anything about their ribs yet but I'm sure they're pretty fair. The prices were pretty steep but service pretty snappy.

I love bbq! This place has a nice atmosphere, super friendly staff and the prices are about what you'd expect for bbq BUT you also get huge portions. My husband & I have always left with containers of food we didnt finish... usually enough for another meal! Also, we have never had to wait for a table which is nice. Highly reccommend this restaurant!

What a great experience. Our server was so helpful. She brought out a burnt ends sample for me because I had never had it before and I loved it! I was also happy with the steamed broccoli and the garlic spinach. So nice to have some light green sides with the meat. So refreshing! My husband loved his Western burger. He said the bacon was thick and delicious and the Patty tasted fresh. My 20 month old daughter loved the fried okra as well as the other bits of our dinner. Recommend!

Great pulled pork sandwich and fries. Wait staff was swamped but handled it nicely. Will be back to try brisket and chicken.
