Here we offer you all the opinions of people who are buying the products and services of B.B.\'s Lawnside BBQ (Restaurant) around Kansas area.
Right now the firm gets a score of 4.5 over 5 and the score was based on 1874 reviews.
As you can see its rating is nearly the best, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we can think that the valuation is very faithful. If there are many people who bothered to value when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to put evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of Barbecue restaurant.
Best BBQ joint I have been to anywhere. Awesome place to hang out on a weekend night too. Awesome blues music, and excellent BBQ. When I get the chance to go back to the KC area again, I will for sure be stopping by. Had a blast, the staff was awesome and fun, and the atmosphere was the best. The pics were just a couple that I took. I had the burnt ends and ate some of my buddies ribs. They were all soooooo good!
I agree food is bland but it's for the better and tender, friendly environment, older crowd, live band is complete with singer. Awesomeness throughout. Yet, $8 for 2 BudLight bottles fair price? I'd date there for sure. Open mic?
First off, let me say just say that I’m Black and...well, if you know, you know. Anyway, I’m giving this place 3 stars based on my overall experience, not the food alone. If we’re just talking about food, I’m giving it one star. I ordered the rib tips which were poorly seasoned, as were my husband’s burnt ends. My “battered fries” were really undercooked potato wedges that were too hard from not being cooked thoroughly. Their barbecue sauce was sweet, too sweet, and without any real flavor or spice. However, the atmosphere and music were great. I would go back for that alone, but definitely not for the food.
It was ok. The best food item was the Irish nachos. Everyone in our family loved them. This place was a about 30 min away cant say there was enough positive to make the trip again.
Not only is the food on point but the staff gives quality service
The BBQ was great, as was the live blues band. This place has the appearance of a dive, but that shouldn't scare you away because lots of great BBQ places do. Overall great experience and I will likely be visiting here again.
Visiting from Texas and ate here tonight with family. You could tell be the smell in the parking lot that the food was going to be good. I had the burnt ends plate. Best burnt ends I’ve had! The beans were very flavorful as well. Place was very busy but the wait wasn’t too bad. Great place for BBQ.
We went for date night, our waitress was very nice and attentive. The food was excellent! Being from Louisiana, I know what boudin balls should taste like, and they were on point! Great BBQ burnt ends as well! We will be back.
Incredible food and live music. Service was slow but food and blues outweighed it big time.
A must visit whenever in town on a Saturday to see the iconic Mama Ray and crew for a great afternoon of jazz blues music and good BBQ the best of both worlds!!!
Ya gotta go hear for great BBQ and live music
Not the best in KC, but definitely a staple and very consistently good service and food.
We try to make it down to KC from Omaha once a year and this time we were bummed to find out our favorite bbq spot had closed. We decided to give B.B.'s a shot and I'm glad we did. The staff was friendly and offered great recommendations. The Irish nachos were fantastic, as were the ribs, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, and the burnt ends are simply amazing. Can't wait until next time, looking forward to trying the smoked catfish.
Great food quick service very welcoming atmosphere!
Came on a Saturday night and had a very underwhelming experience. With 4.5 stars and 1.8k reviews you'd expect some of the best barbeque but instead I received tough ribs and cold burnt ends. Nothing was tender and juicy. However the bread pudding was good enough for the second star.
It was a anniversary of Saturday performances. Lots of folks showed up for the jam session. Highly recommend going. Smoked wings were great too.
BBQ was great, steak fries looked and tasted a little funky. Staff was nice. Overall a good visit.
Food was great. Didn't stay for the live band but sure the were good as well the place was packed
The actual smoked meat is really pretty good. Nice Smokey flavor with good bark. Really not a fan of the sauce, though. Tasted kind of like that orange sauce you get at a cheap Chinese takeout. Wonder why they don't change it. Also, all the sides except the skillet fries are no good. My wife and I will occasionally get a rack of ribs or smoked chicken to go.
The food was okay, their really inconsistent with how much sauce they put on the food. The service was not great either, they took for ever to come and take my order and the people that came in after me got their order in before me. Great atmosphere though.
In any other city, this is a 5-star BBQ. In KC, it's really good, but not up there with a 5-star KC BBQ. If you've not been here it's worth a trip and regularly have excellent music.
I'm just reviewing this now a year later lol sorry for the late review! But god damn this is probably the best bbq I've ever had! I'm recently watching a lot of bbq videos because god damn do I miss me so juicy ribs. I'm from California but I'm stationed in japan now so I'm suffering out here :/ anyways this place left an amazing impression on me. If I'm ever in Missouri again I'll remember to swing by this place and get as much as I could before I leave again! Dont remember what I got but it was God damn good!
Great down home grub served by some friendly folks.
I was in town from Alabama and wanted some good Kansas BBQ. I definitely found it here! The food was very good. The service......well, it was a miss.
Great food! Great service, great music, and the best Ribs and burnt ends around!
Hip roadhouse atmosphere with fantastic music. BBQ served up casually, the meat loaf was fantastic, beans and green beans delish, nice margarita, great friends and service. Angela was the best! She had great advice on dishes to try and was extremely personable!
Love the music they have here! Food not so great but the music and drink selection is were it's at tho.
The best BBQ brisket sandwich I've had. I'm surprised that I haven't tried it before. My only disappointment was that the music was so loud in such a small place, I couldn't hear my family or the server speaking to me. The food was really great.
Best burnt ends in town. No joke. Slightly annoying that they have live music EVERY night, so if you want conversation with anyone while dining GO EARLY. Also, there's a door charge if you go too close to band time, so have cash with you (I think it's $5 per customer). Good info to know if you are showing up with a date or visitors from out of town. Probabaly the way it's always been, so I'm willing to overlook it and give them their otherwise well-earned 5 star rating.
incredible food! Great vibe, live music.
Live music (blues), great service and delicious food!
If you are in K.C. and love BBQ this is a must! Worth the wait and community style seating. Great live music! All around great place!
EVERYBODY'S TASTE BUDS DONT AGREE...Grossly disgusting...bland as sand might as well eat raw meat...smoke bbq yes literally cigarette smoke...poor bbq joint that has its lovers i guess..
Learned of B.B.'s on Food Network and had to try it. The decor is eclectic to say the least but really gives you that southern BBQ feel. The food was amazing. I had a combo platter; ribs, sausage, and pulled pork. The beans reminded me of my great grandma's. Great stuff!
BBQ and blues in a great atmosphere. Fun time on a Saturday afternoon! Excellent food. We bought a pound each of sliced brisket, burnt ends, and a slab of ribs. DELICIOUS!
Great place! Food was awesome and cool atmosphere. Jimmy and the rest of the crew do a great job
Another magnificent time with the amazing patrons and staff of B.B.'s Lawnside. They made my lovely daughter's first visit a wonderful experience to remember. My splendid daughter and I agreed that Mama Ray's Jazz Meets Blues Jam was incredible.
Awesome everything, ambiance food staff, this place is great
Known the "friend" taking over over this establishment 20 years before i was let go for calling in for the first time ever in 5 years while many of the so called "best servers in the world" do it on a weekly basis. Wouldn't visit this place there's so much better places in kc to experience bbq
Great, attentive customer service, and the food was delicious. Serving size was generous. My BBQ Sundae was something different and delicious. The combo of beans topped with coleslaw was surprisingly delicious. The pork was the "cherry" on the top.
Great food, reasonable price. Don't forget to get the battered fries.
we really loved this place. from out of town and had a bad experience at a competitor. this place is local, down home, and great food with friendly bartender. loved the beans and burnt ends, and you have to get the bbq tacos !
The atmosphere is great. The right level of blues music playing. Very friendly staff. I definitely suggest the hickory smoked meat platter for first time visit because you can get a good sampling of the meats they provide and a couple of sides to boot. Battered fried and beans is good, but so are the skillet fries.
Full recommend. Great experience.
Lacks flavor. Low quality with a high price. Food was served cold.
Food was delicious. We happened to be there on a Friday and the music was great.
Great place great food
One of the Kansas City BBQ jewels, great food and prices, I highly recommend it.
Doesn't care for outsiders. Downright rude to us while offering up ear to ear smiles for locals. If you're on the road and looking to try KS BBQ don't bother stopping here.
Smoked turkey and smoked ham were very good. Burnt ends were a bit on the dry side. Cool atmosphere and good music.
Awesome, awesome, its great place, full of history and nostalgia I really enjoyed the food and service there was a nice little crowd when I came but the food still was timely. I tried something called The Cajun We, talking about new and different. It was delicious.
My husband and I went here to listen to music and eat some BBQ. The gentleman at the door said they were over capacity and that there was to many people inside the restaurant. He keep saying they were way over maximum capacity set by Fire Marshall. He would not let us in unless some people leave. Yet 2 Caucasian gentlemen show up and he lets them in saying they gonna go to the patio which is outside in front of us....they never came out. Then 2 Caucasian women show up and he first tells them the same thing as us and they waited with us for 15 mins outside. They went back to the gentleman and he let them in saying they had friends saving seats for them. They were totally packed and they was a lot of people standing and should not have had those four come into the restaurant if they were already over capacity. My husband is Hispanic and an American citizen and this seems very obvious to be a racist incident. I will not give them any of my money and will not ever go back. I should have called the Fire Marshall because the restaurant had way to many people in it and was a safety issue.
Lindsey, as always THE BEST BBQ & BLUES in the area! Been stopping in for 20+ years and NEVER a bad meal!
I had a chicken sandwich and it was good, but not great. My husband had the burnt ends and they were crispy on the outside but falling apart on the inside as they should be. Their baked beans are really good, but their bread pudding is amazing! I definitely want to try it fried next time.
Shane is a great bartender and the band was awesome tonight!
One of the better BBQ places in KC. They also have live music sometimes if that's your kind of thing.
Aways a geeat place to go n relax -great food great entetainment
I love BB's. Great food, great environment, great music
One of my favorite BBQ places in KC. Would highly recommend the lunch special, Big Walter's. And for sides the skillet fries are excellent
Great night! Fantastic Bbq..music by Laura Rain & the Caesar's Absoulty the best!
What amazing service! Very fast service, had my food within five minutes of ordering. Trevor is the best! They said the burnt ends were their best item on the menu, honestly though I've had better burnt ends at a couple different local BBQ places. The beans were delicious and the fries were very good as well. But the bread pudding was the best bread pudding I have ever had in my life, the perfect combination of soft and chewy and melt in your mouth with raisins.
Sorry - I had the burnt ends and they were chewy and rubber-like, just barely edible. Sides were really good but the meal, overall, was disappointing. Won't be back.
Our service was not on it, and my food was sadly not that great . We were there for a Family celebration in memory of my brother. So really had high Hope's but , wow don't think I'll go back .
Great food, had a good band and a car show too. Great day.
The food was excellent. The service was good and the atmosphere was eclectic. I was there in the middle of the day so there want any music but I would go back.
Place is a throw back of the old juke joints of past..great food ...awesome music. A must go place to take out of town friends..also if you like spicy I bet they had 50 different hot sauces from mild to woooo.....hot!!! Fun and up close to the music...two thumbs up
Great but priced alittle high.
Went for lunch. Best BBQ ever! Burnt End Heaven and the wait staff is friendly. Got to get back sometime to catch the nightly shows. I love the Blues!
The food was amazing, staff was incredible, the music and atmosphere was awesome! We'll definitely visit again!
Great food, attentive staff, and blues what more could you want.
Enjoyed the burnt end sandwich as I was passing through. Tasty food, nice people, would visit again for more of the BBQ.
Best small venue for world class blues and kc bbq. Where the locals go.
I would argue it's easily the most authentic KC BBQ restaurant in the metro. The BBQ is breathtaking just on it's own, but there's amazing live music almost every night that has roots in the regional culture. The ownership and staff are incredibly friendly and will make you feel right at home. It may be a little out of your way but B.B's is genuine Kansas City, Missouri culture that you just won't experience at other places.
Great bbq and waitress! I highly recommend to the bbq lovers to give this place a try!
I've been here 3 times (it's 10 minutes from my house) and it's been awesome every time. I've had the Burnt End Dinner, the BBQ Sundae (Guy Fieri's favourites), and the BBQ meatloaf. Each has been delicious. I definitely preferred the Burnt End Dinner and the BBQ Meatloaf, but the sundae has such a fun presentation that you definitely won't go wrong ordering it. One tip, though: when you go, get the skillet fries instead of the battered fries. I know, huge potato wedges SOUND appealing. But you get so much more with the skillet fries, and the wedges were a too firm inside when I got them. The beans are delicious, their BBQ sauce is great, and sometimes you can catch a show. During the summertime, out on the patio, it's hard to match that ambience. Haven't tried dessert here (they feed you plenty), but I did try the onion rings as an appetizer the most recent time I went. They were all right. They're onion rings; if you like onion rings, you'll like them.
Really fun place to go to on nights when they have live music. The food is great and has a really fun atmosphere. I had the meatloaf and it was amazing and also a good beer selection.
Ribs were great....sausage was great.....brisket was great.....beans were great......fries were unlike anything I've ever had and they were great.....service was great! I highly reccomend checking out B.B.'s if you get the chance!
Great food. Good atmosphere. Classic blues.
Wonderful place,, been going there for over 20 years
I've always been a huge fan of their barbecue. Add on some live music in you have a hit!
A little out of the way but delicious food. We had the sampler platter. Ribs were tender with just enough fat to make them juicy. Beef brisket was melt in your mouth. Sausage had just the right combination of spices. We will be back!
Food was delicious, we had the meatloaf meal. The live music was great, though a little loud- couldn't talk to friends while it was going on. Next time I'll make sure to check the schedule so I can make an informed decision. Sometimes I enjoy dinner and a show. Other times I want to enjoy the company of friends with the music in the background and I will go elsewhere those nights. Highly recommend otherwise!
Wanted to try something new instead of Joe's BBQ! Terrible service. Had to ask for our drink 3 times. Ordered onion rings, over priced for what you get. Infact, all sides were over priced that we ordered (potato wedges, baked beans) Brisket was great, ribs were good. Our waitress never came to give refills or ask if we needed anything.
Some of the best ribs ever. Awesome atmosphere. Awesome waitress
I love going there when I work at the asphalt place behind them.
Everything on the menu sounds fire smoked meatloaf heat 2 die for omg! Battered fries are good and huge they're really wedges fire oh yeah good music and the people are friendly great place
I have been in KC a year, and so far this is my favorite Barbecue place. Generous portions, great sauce, beer and the blues. I love the music - it adds its own flavor to great food!
We have been coming here for years. We love spending Saturday afternoon at BB'S. They have open mic on Sat and musician's from all over the country show up to perform. We listened to a fantastic guitarist from France yesterday. In the past we have listened to Grammy nominated performers. The wait staff are quite efficient and do a good job. Surprise yourself and order the BBQ sundae!!!!
I was there for lunch. Service was a bit slow for it not being too crowded, but we didn't feel rushed. It was a beautiful day for sitting outside on the deck and enjoying the weather along with some BBQ. Food was great as always. All three people in the group were happy with the food they were served (burnt ends, hot mama chicken sandwich, and the mac and cheese special). Too bad they don't have live bands at lunch
Just a cool place to hang out oh and the food is good bring your empty tummy!
Get atmosphere to relax and enjoy time with friends and family. Staff are exceptional and make sure that everything is taken care of. We enjoyed the live blue grass band they had playing and would go back in an instant.
The Saturday jam session with Mama Ray from 2-5 is definitely worth spending the afternoon. Wait staff very friendly and courteous. Barbecue is good. Good menu choices. Love the onion rings.
Waited long time for food , so Lou’s jazz music and not okay service
Great food, awesome music! And who doesn't love to hear Momma Ray? Service could have been a little better. And it does get crowded. The tables are communal and it is tight. If going on the weekend, plan to go early to get a good seat.
Boudin balls with swamp man's sauce is my go to hangover food. Great staff and fun atmosphere. Live music is there all the time and the to go service is speedy and always accurate! Try their gumbo it is to die for!
Everything about this place is on point the food, service, music etc.
It's amazing. Burnt ends are tender and flavorful. BBQ meatloaf was a pleasant surprise and the potatoes are outstanding. I Can honestly say, I like it way better than Joe's. Staff were attentive and friendly. Go when they have live music.
The atmosphere is chill, the service is attentive but not overbearing, the patio is great, and the food is remarkable...and super reasonably priced!
One of the best BBQ & blues joints in Kansas City can't beat the service can't beat the atmosphere.
The band was good. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The sausage was great! That's where it ended. For a place featured on the food network, I expected more. The pulled pork, ham, beef, chicken, and potatoes were all a bit bland. Every place is entitled to a bad day. The service was great so i would be willing to give them another chance next time I'm in the area.
Not sure of it was the time or the day but it was just ok bbq. I went there on a Friday lunch. The staff was nice and helpful but food was just ok and quantity wise smaller. I ordered Big Walters mix meat and it was not appealing nor taste as good as it sounds. Kansas City is known for its bbq so I guess things could be better. I will give it another try one of this days and update my review here.
Great food. I have visited here 3 different times and always happy. Not the normal KC chain. Great relaxed atmosphere and amazing staff.
Ordered the B.B.'s King Combo. Everything was delicious, though I thought the Brisket was a little dry.
Great food and even better music. Win, win.
The atmosphere & music were good, I was not impressed with the food.
Service was awful. The female server was completely rude and unhelpful when we asked about sitting outside on the deck. Ended up leaving without eating.
Just barely ok. Had burnt ends with green beans, potato wedges and some baked beans, supposed to be smoked for 10+ hours but none of us tasted smoked meat. The ham in the green beans wasn't skimped on, but lacked much in the way of flavor and was strangely topped with parmesan(not a good flavor combo). The potatoes are dipped in a strange batter with parmesan cheese(such an odd/not pleasing flavor) and the baked beans just so so. None of the meal items were worthy of eating more than a taste or two. $20/plate is steep for what you get. We had stomach aches the whole night after eating here. Very disappointing, we only came because a coworker suggested it. Bad part of town, disappointing & expensive food. Only positive was the decor...loved the decor.
Great music and generous portions. Love this place!
We love the food, the music, the bluesy vibe. Today I tried the Smokin Margarita- whoa! Delicious.
Great atmosphere and food was awesome
BURNT ENDS! I'll have ALL the BURNT ENDS. The staff are friendly. Not just "hi what can I get you" but actually have a conversation with you friendly.
Food came fast and was delicious! The place was casual and the sauce was great! They were playing blues on the radio when I came in, but my server told me they do live music every night. I'll definitely be back!
Seems bbq in KC has some favorites, then there are those joints that have 1 specialty they excel in. BB's Lawnside should be praised for their Burnt Ends. They were perfection. Tender. Flavorful. The rest of our sample platter was good, not overwhelming great, but good food.
The place looks like it was made 300 years ago. But the barbecue tastes like they have been perfecting it for 600 years. I have eaten at just about every bbq joint in KC. And yes that is A LOT. This place is easily my favorite. The staff there is friendly and passionate about their BBQ. For lunch you can't go wrong with their BBQ nachos. But I warn you. When it taste this good it's hard to stop eating. Wear your stretchy pants.
Very good burnt end sandwich! Great service!
The barbecue in this place is fabulous and so's the music
The food was great and the music was better
A lot better than Arthur Bryant's
Got there at 10:30....was ignored till the kitchen closed even though we sat within 10 ft of the register. Music was good.. couldn't tell you about the food..had to go beg for even water to drink.
It's okay. Sort of crowded. First time to see a band there. Food is okay. Had better, had worst. One of very few to not have French fries on menu.
Like it when in before dinner rush. Gets pretty crowded at nights with bands and I am too old to enjoy crowds. 4-6pm dinners are quick in and out.
Great food and service. Will definately come again
Great time at BB's for a wonderful cause.....Hope House. Good food and we had a really great waitress
We had a great time! The food was delicious. The burnt ends were yummy, jambalaya great. We enjoyed the live music. It is quite loud. If you want background music with your conversation, sit outside. Service was friendly and very efficient.
Good service; it seemed pretty busy so we were ready wait. Ordered an app since we thought it’d be a while and it was quick and ten minutes later our main course was there! The sauce was different... good flavor, but it was a thin sauce. And the ribs came of the bone without much effort. Nice place to enjoy some music, I think prefer listening to it outside since it is so loud.
BB's truly a wonderful experience every time I go. Super friendly staff. Great food. Lots of options that aren't your typical BBQ joint. At night, they have live blues musicians who hang out between sets.
Great place to enjoy some of Kansas City's best BBQ. Great place with very friendly staff. This place has lots of character with indoor and outdoor seating. Live blues music is loud. Sitting outside is recommended if you want to have more intimate conversations with friends.
The bread pudding was delicious, but pricey. My to-go order didn't take long to prepare, friendly service. Great atmosphere and I believe they have entertainment Friday night. The brisket was the best for me but I didn't care for the beans. Lots of parking and it looks like they can handle large groups. Sauce is sweet and tangy and a little thin/runny.
From out of town and as we were driving by the smell drew us in! Service was awesome and always had a smile on their face. Great suggestions from them and were generally happy to be there. Tried the boudin balls as an app and burnt end soup and sand which. Awesome little lunch with tons of flavor. Most likely coming back for dinner to try some hellcat Maggie’s Irish whiskey and other smoked deliciousness.
Great BBQ - put it on your list of KC BBQ must visit places. They have live music (jazz) and it is excellent.
Service, food and drinks are amazing!
Great burnt end plate. Love the environment.
The burnt ends were great but the ribs were bland and not tender at all. The red beans n rice and no flavor the skillet fries were awesome.... drove 3 hrs and was very disappointed.
LOVED the food and music. Service not so much. This was our first time going to BB’s and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I’m normally pretty patient and tolerable with servers that aren’t great but experienced the worst service of my life here. After reading other reviews it seems like I’m not the only one. While we waited over an hour for our food after ordering we realized we just got unlucky with the worst server there. Will definitely return for the live music and burnt ends despite the service.
OutStanding food hands down my favorite BBQ place in Kansas City!!!
1st time eating here. It's one of the best bbq restaurants I've ever been to
I have lived in KC most my life and I am no stranger to BBQ. I had always wanted to try this place and that night finally came. Sadly, I will say I don’t think I would recommend this place to anyone unless you’re there for the music and a drink. We ordered the burnt ends and a pulled pork sandwich. We also got the pit beans and potato salad, both of which were pretty tasty. The main dishes however were subpar, I believe you could do a better job with a crockpot if you own one! The burnt ends looked great but once you bit into them they were VERY dry, and almost flavorless. I would describe them as eating a roast that was over cooked. I was hoping the sauce could’ve livened them up but it was very runny and thin and the flavor was very sweet/tangy. It was so runny it likely just pooled up at the bottom of my plate. However no, amount of sauce could have saved these poor burnt ends! I wanted to finish them so bad since they were quite pricey, and I was hungry! Thankfully I had the beans and potato salad to make up for the lack luster burnt ends. We also had the pulled pork sandwich, which I did talk my way into trying because I was curious if burnt ends just aren’t their game but maybe the pork was. The pulled pork was also dry, though not as much as the burnt ends, and didn’t really have any flavor at all. Added some of the sauce (which likely just got absorbed into the bread it was on since it’s comes out like water) to help the situation and was still disappointed. Anyways, I was kind of shocked after seeing so many great reviews and comparing them to my experience. With so many BBQ joints in KC I just see how I could even formulate the thought to suggest this place to my thousands of co-workers and friends and family that come in from out of town. I might try it again later on down the road and see if they can redeem themselves but I feel like I could get the same experience eating dinner rolls that have sat on the counter for a few days, and that would be a lot cheaper! Still need my BBQ itch scratched so I might have to swing into a staple place like Gates, Jack Stack or Joes KC to find that loving feeling again.
Great service and amazing food !!!
Not my type of BBQ. It was very light on smoke the sandwich seemed to have blended meat and the burnt ends that were supposed to be on there were not to be found. The sauce over powered the taste in the meat and the beans. The service was very good and quick.
Delicious BBQ with outstanding entertainment. This is my favorite BBQ in the city and is an authentic KC experience.
You can't not go wrong with the food at this place
I had a really good time here. Great food and live music
Great food and rustic atmosphere. One of only places left in kc that has blues music.
Atmostphere was great for a bbq joint. BBQ was good but sauce was ok. Good prices.
BBQ was good. Not great , but good. It was a carryout order and they forgot the fries so you might want to check BEFORE you get half way home to see if your order is complete.
Yummy food! Great service! Amazing atmosphere!!!
We went there looking for Blues music but found much more. Great food, Great music and Great people!!! PS you have to have the bread pudding
This is the Kansas City experience you want. Whether you live here or you are visiting, B.B.'s never disappoint. Down home BBQ and blues in a laid back atmosphere. If you haven't been here, treat yourself.
Music was good. Service do slow and wrong stuff. Had to get watress attention often. She ended up taking my meal off the bill.
Coolest place ever!!! Burnt ends were absolutely amazing! Music was great!
Stopped there because it was on diners drive in s and dives is off the beaten path but not terrible to get too. Went on a Thursday and noon and wasnt overly busy so was nice. Nothing special surely had better.
Coming from Minnesota, this was our first KC Barbecue! Awesome experience! Great atmosphere, friendly staff, great food!
First time eating there. Full slab of ribs and bean and potatoe salad where great, are appetizers was Chile nachos it was really good! We are differently going back! There was a blues band playing it was great too!
Great dive atmosphere! Food is great and they have live blues! Fun experience!
Great food, great service
Got the Big Walter's Mixed Meat sandwich to go. 6 meats smothered in sauce with some battered and deep fried potato wedges. The sandwich is physically incapable of being eaten without a fork, which is the only complaint I have about the sandwich. Being able to sample all the meats is such an excellent way to be introduced to a restaurant for the first time! I'll be getting the smoked sausage by itself sometime in the near future. Fries were a little starchy but very crispy on the outside. Hot BBQ sauce was used to dip them in, and I wish it was a little less thin, but flavor was overall good. Would love to stay and listen to some live music next time!
One of the best places to eat some great pit beans, fries and listen to amazing local jazz talent. I love this place and the natural smoke flavor in all entrees . One of the best places to visit for BBQ in the area, definitely a must have for their sides/entrees.
I usually really love the food and music at this place. Unfortunately this trip was not the best. The ribs were fatty and the beans were playing. No wonderful tidbits of burnt brisket and meats in with the beans. I had been looking forward to the young ladies performance but the Acoustics were not working correctly. Then after changing to some different amps we couldn't hear her. I hope that they can fix all these problems because of course I will be back.
