We started with some of their amigo dip - a must and absolutely delicious. I got enchiladas and was not disappointed. My friend who makes her own flautas says amigos is as close to hers and she raved about them. The others in our party got tacos. I do want to go back one day and try their fried tacos which they're known for.

Amigos Grill and Cantena is my go to for authentic Mexican food in the Kansas City area. In the picture is the Chicken Monterito, it's an 8oz Chicken Breast with their Amigo Dip (a Jalapeno Monterey Jack cheese sauce with Spinach and other spices) comes with lettuce, rice, beans, and your choice of corn or flour tortillas. Their entire menu is stellar though, so definitely try whatever sounds good to you. Plus, the staff are always great and very friendly. One last bit, their Margaritas are second to none.

So my friends asked me to have lunch with them at this Mexican that they recommend and I say sure! Well I was really glad that I want! First thing I see when I get in the door, is that they're cleaning a few spots on the floor, and wiping down tables, getting ready for new customers. The place is fairly spotless already, and looks friendly and inviting already, but they're just adding their little touches. It was pretty busy the whole time we were there, and if the Salsa, tortillas, and Pollo were not fresh from scratch, I'll make my own guacamole! Today they just made a new amigo!

Amazing and delicious, an open secret for great Mexican food in a sports bar layout. This place doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food is fantastic, plenty of screens for games, clean classy environment overall. This is no dive bar. They have a large room for rent for special occasions although I have never been in there.

Food was mediocre. Tasted pretty much like a few cans were opened and heated. The salsa was just ok. Environment was more like a bar than a Mexican restaurant. My server Margie was great, and attentive so I'm giving 3/5 instead of 2/5 because of her.

Always the best and friendliest service-how refreshing for a change to feel like you’re not bothering a server if you need anything at all. Andy is a conscientious guy who wants you to leave a happy customer. All the servers, bartenders and owners truly care that you have a great experience and delicious food. If I had to say anything negative it would be that they could do a better job on keeping the restrooms cleaner. The best is the Amigos dip and you can’t forget Saturday appetizers special. A fun and homey feel as soon as you walk through the door!! Love this restaurant and the people who work there!!!!

This has to be the best Mexican restaurant I have ever visited. The food is freshly made, ALWAYS great tasting and very flavorful. The portions are generous, so bring your appetite! The salsa that comes with the chips is the best. Full of fresh flavor, light, not filling at all. Just West of I-635 and Shawnee Drive next to the Sun Fresh, you'll be very happy you stopped in!

Again I was there with some friends who dine there quite often and they are Ryan family. We got there after 12:30 pm the waitress there seat us at a table and asked if she could our drinks for us and she did. Did find out that they don't service coffee anymore. Left some menu's to look at and of course the Ryan knew all most everything on that thing. All the staff was friendly and helpful. They do ask if you need a refill on pop or tea. The food was great and if you had anything left over you could take it home. I would recommend to anyone looking for a drink and good food and sports on tv they need to go there.

Had to revise the review. Tonight I watched 6 different people get food first when I had ordered long before them. The bartender never smiled and was in a poor mood complaining. Was a 4 time per week customer... probably not going back. Was refunded my money and left without dinner.

They have huge party room! They really know how to take care of a large party. They can cater at their own restaurant. They have a bar side as well. They have a projection screen available, it was showing the royal game at the time of my visit. The taco meat and shells. Please hit the like button

Best described as a TexMex sports bar. With all the TV and Budweiser your little game day heart can desire. This place has delicious salsa and great daily specials. Certainly a local favorite for taco Tuesday. Try their deep fried tacos or a chimichanga!

This place is awesome! Great food, great atmosphere, friendly staff! We love this place so much we booked their party room for our family Christmas last year. Food was fantastic and very reasonably priced, especially for our large group. The owner really takes pride in his restaurant and it shows! Great spot for a date night or a quick bite for lunch! Order anything, you won't be disappointed! Hands down the best service you will get in the KC area!

Just got our order from door dash. All the food is hot and fresh. We ordered 2 amigos dips and 1 salsa. They gave us 1 small bag of BROKEN chips to share with the dips. Dissapointed

Service was great the place is dark but fun I feel this is a place more for a fun night out with friends where drinks are the main attraction. I was not personally looking for that so I was disappointed with my interaction with this place as a bar I'm sure its 5 star plus as a restaurant the food quality is just not there. The food has no personal touch it's like cafatera level the beans where dry and lack flavor, the lettuce was wilted, and the tortilla was gummy not crisp or fluffy. I understand this place is loved by the community so I hope they take this as constructive criticism and things that can easily be fix, and not as any kind of condemnation.

The new fish tacos are very good. You get two with rice and refried beans. One of mine had more of the lime sauce than the other, but, they were pretty tasty. My husband had the chicken mole enchiladas and I thought that the sauce was really good. If you like spicy, ask for the hot salsa with your chips, it's delicious and hot.

The whole meal was very bland, from the salsa to the refried beans. No seasoning on meat. My friend liked it, but she can't do anything spicier than ketchup. Might be a good place for watching games, they have well-placed TVs for the bar area and one big projector for the rest of the restaurant. Good service, just blah food.

Omg best enchiladas. I had the shredded beef enchiladas and the sauce was the closest to the cheese and onion ones I eat at home. I have tried so many places and their enchiladas are nothing compared to the sauce at home so I quit trying enchiladas and stuck with mine at home. But when I walked in here I decided to try them and I made the right decision to try the enchiladas. This was our first time and we will be back. Wish I would of taken a picture. Next time I will

Came in last minute for my son's 17th birthday. The servers went above and beyond, putting tables together for us close to the games, making sure we were taken care of the whole time, and they even decorated the cake we brought in for him! The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding!

My first visit to Amigos, and it was great! Happened in on Taco Tuesday... had some tasty, toasty tacos on a cold, rainy night along with some nice queso Blanco. Friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere... ample crispy chips and fresh salsa... Great little choice for apps and dinner. I'll be back!
