This little place is a great Chinese restaurant. They are busy but they are super fast so your wait is never long. After we ordered I think there was only 10 minutes before our plates were brought to us. The food was really good and definitely had a huge selection on the menu. I only wish it was closer to where I lived in the north land and I would probably be a frequent diner.

This dim sum isn't the traditional scene of waiters pushing around carts with different dishes: it's all a la carte. The venue is also very small (maybe 7-8 tables in the whole joint). I tried the shrimp dumplings, egg custard. & coconut steam buns, spicy shrimp dumplings in chili sauce, beef short ribs, and Chinese broccoli (which was not on the dim sum menu).

Best dimsum in kansas. I wish i got pictures of all the dishes we ordered but 4 is still i got. At noon on Saturday the place was packed. My wife, daughter & i waited about 10 minutes before sharing the large round table with about cookie who also shared with the previous family. It was fantastic. Felt like the dimsum places i ate in California. Hint: take own seats even if it means sharing tables. I am not an extrovert when in come to meeting new people but when it comes to trying new foods i'm all over it. Makes it easy to find out what others are eating. First round we ordered wonton noodle soup,bbq roast pork, cucumber salad & lotus wrap sticky rice. Round 2 we got pork ribs with black bean sauce, bbq porkbuns, sesame ball, coconut pastry. Service was fast and friendly. Food was amazing. We will definitely be back for more.

Food is amazing, tender meats, great taste. I ordered the Chicken Kung Fun with soft noodles. A great ginger sauce. Friends had Chicken Fried Rice, and Beef Ribs with Pepper sauce. All dishes were generous servings. We will be back!

We went to ABC Cafe for lunch on a Sunday with our kids. They were very busy, all tables full after we were seated, but the customer service was flawless, we never felt rushed and we had everything we needed in good time. We tried a variety of items from the dim sum menu, all were excellent! We will definitely be eating there again soon.

Dim sum lovers Unite! Great choices and fair prices. Located practically next door to the Johnson County main Library at 87 & Foster. They also have a good Chinese menu with some unusual dishes. And they have dim sum every day of the week, except for Tuesday and Wednesday, when they are closed. Having fallen in love with dim sum when I lived in San Francisco for five years, I didn't think I'd ever find something so delicious in the heartland. But you will find it at ABC Cafe.

Looking something different for lunch and tried ABC cafe. The dumplings and potstickers were the draw. We got there about 10 minutes before they opened. We tried several dishes and soups. Everything was Fantastic!!!!. ***get there early on a weekend or you will be one of the many people standing in line out the door. Still well worth the wait.

Love coming here for Dim Sum and CHINESE! This restaurant is not very big therefore prepare to wait if you come around noon or dinner time. We came here on a Sunday right when they opened (11am) and it was already busy. Also try calling this restaurant before you head out. For example I know they are off January 22-? (I forgot when). My favorite dish is wanton noodle soup. Also I always order a dessert after my meal (mango pudding). It is delicious! Try one and see if you like it! The server told me they make it fresh every morning :-)

This place is a hidden gem in Overland Park! A tiny, tiny restaurant that is always packed because people keep discovering how good it is! The food is delicious and it doesn't even matter what you get. EVERYTHING IS GOOD. Made upon order, the team there does a fantastic job of explaining dishes to ensure you have a great experience. Highly recommended for you to go and check it out. I recommend their sugarcane tea, barbecue pork bun, and chicken sauteed with black bean sauce. YUM!

The food was OK but the service was subpar. Servers/Manager was rude and not very friendly. They're cheap and try to pinch pennies in all the wrong places. I enjoy my dim sums with the hot chili oil. I'd get one small container if I ordered one order of dim sum to go. This time I ordered 10 orders of dim sum thinking it wouldn't be an issue for 10 sauce containers, but I only asked for 8. She was patronizing and condescending when she said they don't charge that much for their dim sums and that I should just share the 3 they're giving me. Yeah, no thanks. I'm fine with finding another establishment and never coming back here again.

EXCELLENT FOOD! I'm 60 miles away and this is by far the best Chinese I've had from Topeka to Kansas City. Not the biggest fan of their shrimp fried rice (think it needs more "American" vegetables like peas or carrots maybe?), but the Dim Sum is delicious! My dining companion devoured the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and made me promise to remember what he enjoyed. My only other complaint is the size of the place -- please consider moving and getting a bigger place. We got there 10 minutes after opening and the place was already full! I'm willing to drive over from Topeka just for your food.

Heard about this place from a friend and it definitely scratched my itch for dim sum. Tons of options, each dim sum comes with its own dipping sauce and the service was great. We ordered about 6 dim sum plates and actually had way too much. Portion sizes are excellent and the kitchen keep the food coming in a steady stream.

This is kind of a blink it and you miss it type of Chinese food joint. Also the name ABC Cafe doesn't go along with the fact that it is a Chinese food joint. But the food, oh yeah, it's damn good. One of the best Chinese food I have ever had. This is only the second place where I felt authentic ingredients and taste, outside China. Every dish was flavorful and tasty. The restaurant owners were great and helped us to pick the right dish.

I’ve been coming here for years and have never thought they deserved less than 5 stars. Tonight they were busy and we waited 5-10 min for a table but from then on, we had our food out less than 5 minutes after ordering. The owners and staff were running around making sure everyone was taken care of without taking breaks or sitting down and they were still very kind to us. I love this place. It’s the only place I can count on that will have me in and out in 45 minutes or less. On a Saturday night!

My favorite dish is the kōng xīn cài, it is a delicious stir fried vegetable similar to spinach but with a delightfully crunchy stem. My nephew suggested we try ABC for dim sum. Neither of us had been there before so we were excited to try it. I lived in San Francisco for years and so my dim sum bar is high. ABC didn't disappoint. We shared sui mei, shrimp and black mushroom dumpling, pot stickers, turnip cake with xo and chicken feet. Everything was good but nothing was outstanding. Like I said, I'm spoiled. It was the best selection of dim sum in KC. Everything is ordered from a menu.

That was one of the best lunches I've ever had. No even kidding. The dumplings were perfect and the entrees were fantastic. Even the desserts were wonderful. This is a local small Chinese place that I love to go to for dim sum. Everything is always has amazing taste and quick service. It is a small place so some times there is a wait to get inside. Which just tells you how tasty it is also reasonable priced. About once a year the close for a week or two for vacation so make sure it’s not during this time when you go by. I like to many items on there dim sum menu to pick a favourite. Will keep coming back her either to eat or get take out.

ABC Cafe is able to replicate the smells and tastes I experienced while living & working in China--not an easy task. Our servers were friendly, helpful and efficient. My 3 children were with me and really enjoyed the vegetable rice noodles, sesame balls and steamed red bean buns. We all think the turnip cakes are tasty; who would have thought turnips could be so yummy?! From the smooth green Jasmine tea to the last morsel of dumplings, ABC could easily stand for America's Best Chinese in this case. Already added to my favorites list and looking forward to returning again.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant in the region, saw one $ next to it, been many restaurants in this region, feel this one should categorized as two $, but the price is very fair. Two problems, one is they closed two days each week. Second, usually have long wait time during dinner hour, and the tables space very very crowded.

BEST DIM SUM IN KC! It definitely makes me feel like I’m back in China. This is the most authentic dim sum we’ve found, and never upsets your stomach after or makes you hungry an hour later because they don’t use MSG or too much oil. The owner and staff are so friendly, they know us all by name and play with my baby every time we come in. So many options to choose from, and they do dim sum all day! We also appreciate that they are open on most holidays, as we usually get takeout after a few drinks. You will not find better dim sum in KC.

Everything we ordered was superb - even better than the dim sum I had in my trip to LA where you had to know Cantonese to order. The only thing keeping this place from 5 stars is the layout. There needs to be something between the large table and the folks waiting to eat. It was uncomfortable having people bumping into us while we ate and we were also blasted with cold air as those waiting kept both doors open.

This is one of my family’s favorite places to eat. We eat here for birthdays and even Christmas. We bring out of town visitors here too. I love so many of the dishes from shrimp wontons in spicy chille sauce to beef chow fun and salt and pepper shrimp. All of the dim sum dishes are delicious. We like the cucumber dish as well as the seven flavor mushrooms. The vegetarian fried rice is hard to beat too. My kids have their favorites (all of the dishes mentioned above) which makes it difficult to get them to try something new. There are so many dishes I haven’t tried yet, but I will!!

So many choices! If you are a tourist looking for a cheap non-Asian style lunch or snack this bakery is a must. The sell various Pizza slices, bread and bread rolls, cakes, pasties, cheesecakes (refrigerated!!!) danishes biscuits etc. plus they sell a wide variety of hot and cold beverages. While probably not as cheap as other bread shops the prices are still very reasonable. You can sit in a clean, air conditioned seating area indoors, upstairs or outdoors...

The owner keeps all the tips and pays the servers a flat rate of around 10 dollars a hour and exploits certain other workers. She also is known for being rude and paying certain other workers even less than the $10 a hour.... without tips. Literally giving this restaurant tips helps no one but the boss. I know someone who worked here and she is a mean and a boss that does some sketchy things. The food is good, but her ethics are 0/10 so please do not support this restaurant.

I love ABC Cafe. It's a great hidden gem in the Kansas City Area. I always have a great visit when I come here. The restaurant staff are all very kind and attentive. My water cup is never empty, and neither is my pot of tea. The dim sum here is some of the best I've had. I always order at least 10 dim sum dishes any time I go. The quality of the food is always superb, so is the freshness. Don't be fooled by the unassuming interior, or the small dining room. Every square foot is worth it. If you want some recommendations; first timers definitely order the pork buns, scallion pancake, curry beef puff and shrimp spring rolls. For those of you who are more adventurous, order the friend tofu skin filled with pork and shrimp, the steamed shrimp balls, and turnip cake. Make sure you do a round of dessert too. The mango pudding is creamy, silky smooth and delicious, the red bean buns are a classic dim sum staple you can't go wrong with and the coconut custard bun is probably the unsung hero of the sweets on the menu. The order turn around time is quick once you start ordering and you never have to wait long for your next dish. If you have thought about doing dim sum or are looking for a great hidden gem in the Kansas City area, this is it.

We ordered the BBQ Pork Dim Sum (too much sweet sauce) Beef Noodle soup was okay but my son told me "you know I have had better", My wife sat with a terrible look on her face after receiving her chicken fried rice. She told me the rice was "grainy" and she thought they just had it sitting on the counter before they brought it to her. (Not good) My wonton soup was okay, I ate it all... bland but I ate it all. Not the same experience we had when we were in town several years ago. Very disappointed. Quality gone down.

Great Chinese food, very authentic and has reasonable prices. This is definitely not one of those all you can eat buffet type places, so, don't go here if that's what you're looking for. If you're looking for great food then give this place a try. This place is small though, so, you might want to call a head if you're part of a large group.

I've been going here a few years (sorry for the late review). If you're into authentic Chinese, this is the place. Hits well above weight for service, price, flavor, speed, and even convenient hours open. This is my go-to and it says something to me that my wife and I are on a first-name basis with the entire front-of-house team.

I LOVE this place for their food and their people. Authentic, SUPER SPEEDY, and always a great place to take people. Beware, there are two days off, and they're in the middle of the week.

There is some interesting stuff on the menu. Everything we had came out quickly and was absolutely fantastic. We had bbq pork buns, curry beef puffs, pork roast, salt and pepper tofu, and the rice noodle dish. I recommend them all! The space is small and the tables are close together, but it's worth it. This place has authentic food that is top notch.

Solid authentic Cantonese food. Service is good and staff is friendly. Atmosphere and food provides an experience you would get if you ate at a similar cafe/diner style restaurant in Hong Kong.

I've been wanting to try dim sum for a long time and this place did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The beef fried rice was also very good. I'll be back again to try some more dim sum.
