Walked in to a friendly greeting. Casual intimate environment, good selection of groceries (you gotta check their vintage fruit cooler case), excellent fresh prepared food homemade style and a sweet bar to eat at. Had some great conversation with the handsome cooks; felt like I was just hanging out with friends. I'll go back anytime I'm in the area. Thanks guys!

I really wish I could rate this business higher. It is a family run store, and the staff is very knowledgeable and generally friendly. There are little things that make a difference in a business that is acceptable and one that is exceptionally well run. For me, I appreciate it when a store is open during it's posted hours and if it's not the at least a sign saying it's closed would be nice. A message on the business' phone line would be nice too, so you know you are calling the right place. I haven't always been impressed with the produce. I think they let it go a little too long. I was once there looking at celery and was told the one I was holding was "for soup" meaning it wasn't fresh enough for eating raw. Having said that, I do shop there because they have things I can't get elsewhere. They do make some fantastic food in the summer at the market. I think a few small changes would make a huge difference in the success of this store.

Try their Italian beef sandwich it's by far best sandwich I have ever had. You might want to get two on how good it is and on how much it takes to fill you up. But overall this is my new place to go if I'm passing through Dubuque

A very unassuming place at first glance but this place was not only a discovery for us but a true revelation. Mike definitely knows nutrition and more importantly sustainable nutrition practices. This is a rare find in this era of fast food. We were very hungry when we reached this place and we were very skeptical looking at the inside of this place. One of the customers left after having a look inside but we chose to take a chance. The saag paneer, roti and the vegetables with a scoop of brown basmati rice was not only delicious but filling. It wasn’t over spicy or oily and showed how one should handle ingredients to highlight their taste than over power with other condiments. I wish Mike the very best to carry his life message of nutrition to all and I feel the people of Dubuque have got a true treasure in this place. I still have the steel spoons he gave us when we asked him for take over cutlery.

A local gem. I sure do miss this place. A great place to stop in for a quick bite to eat. I always did love their falafel wraps and stir-frys. Burger night was always memorable as well. This will be one of the first places I stop when I return to Dubuque for a visit soon. You are always sure to find wholesome food and great friends at The Food Store.

Organic food to buy and/or dine on. Super tasy. Cheap prices. Nothing fancy. No tie required. Mike is very friendly. Nice atmosphere. Laid back. Down home. Highly recommended!

A pretty expensive lunch at around 9$ a meal, but so worth it. The specials each day never disappoint, my favorite being the indian tuesday and burger and fries friday. Never really shopped around in the store too much as everything is about as pricy as the food, but grabbing a bottle of flavored kombucha with some outstanding food is not a bad way to spend a lunch break.

We enjoyed Indian food here. The owner is an awesome guy and prepares everything from scratch. Food was delicious and healthy too. The place looks messy but do not go by the looks. The food tasted much better than in a 5 star restaurant. I would definitely go back to this store again.
