The food was pretty good, but I was not super impressed. Also, their liquor license was under renewal when we visited so they weren't serving beer or wine. Seems like something that should have been taken care of before it expired!

I've had pho here several times, always comforting and delicious. I love how there's hot peppers and other seasonings I can add in a little caddy at the ready. Spring rolls, made fresh every time I order them, and I just found out it's made by a relative of mine!! Which makes it even more 'homemade' for me. #FEAST #theneedtofeed

The lettuce wrap is the best here. Beef sukiyaki was excellent too, the soup base is delicious.. i did not like the beef volcano much, it rather tasted like a Chinese dish but was not much palatable..The ambience is wonderful..overall, I think it is a very good restaurant.

Got the fried spring rolls and pad thai with tofu. Both were super yummy. The pad thai was HUGE so i had lunch for the next day. I went with a large group. This is a new location and we went on a weekday when it was snowing, which may explain why it was empty for dinnertime. I would def go here again!

We had a craving for some ramen & decided to give Thai spice noodle house a try. The ramen was pretty underwhelming & while the sukiyaki was pretty flavorful, it was way too spicy. Both came with a good amount of food though. I wouldn't count them out just from this soup experience, but I certainly wasn't impressed.

We have visited both Thai Spice locations in Iowa City - the Gilbert St and the Mormon Trek locations. Both serve delicious dishes at sensible prices, though I'd say the Gilbert St location has more eccentric decor. We prefer Thai Spice over the other Thai food locations in Iowa City as their dishes are significantly less greasy but still just as tasty. Obviously standard dishes such as the pad thai will always be good bets, but if you come back for a second visit hopefully you try their curries, which I think are the best available in Iowa City.

Great service! Was not full when we went and we got a great corner to sit. The ambience was great! We ordered egg rolls and spicy duck fried rice and would recommend both of them!

A great addition to Iowa City. Excellent, fast service and the food is consistently great. I love the green curry and the dim sum, but they have tons of fantastic options that will not disappoint.

Okay/good food, large portions, poor service... Oddly poor service for being the only customers there; the waitress couldn't answer any questions about the food and was very antsy to get her tip and scoot us out. The noodles were very good but I do not recommend the "meatballs."

for people who loves Thai spicy food...it is very authentic...noodles are available no rice...there is almost no sauce like a tomatoe sauce...I didn't like it..

I visited the Thai Spice for a quick lunch and ordered green curry beef, which came with a salad. The salad was fresh and crispy, the curry, served with rice on the side spicy and well prepared.

The food was tasty but the waiter (owner?) was INCREDIBLY RUDE. We just left the restaurant and had given the waiter a tip a bit more than 10%. He followed us outside and challenged us about the size of the tip. I explained the service wasn't very good and that he rushed us. He continued to challenge and berate us, and I said, "This is precisely the kind of bad service that got you the small tip." He didn't let up but continued to shout at us, and I shouted back. DETAILS This rather low tip was because when we entered at 1:45 (with a closing time of 2:00) he greeted us in a bored way and wanted to know if this was for take-out. We said we were dining in, and he clearly didn't like that and wanted us to order right away. My 92-year-old father was with us, and he eats a bit slowly. The waiter gave us the bill early in the meal as a way to rush us. I didn't complain, but I was unwilling to tip more than 10%. That the waiter insulted us--and my elderly father--is extraordinarily rude and unacceptable. Generally I am a big tipper. It takes especially awful service for me to give just 10%. In retrospect, this guy deserved ZERO.

The best Thai food in Iowa City. My favorites are the Pad Thai and Duck Basil Thai Chilli Sauce. Excellent portions, seasoned to perfection, and incredible taste. I love this restaurant and the original location by Big Grove. I wish I could give them 10 stars!

Thai Spice Noodles Pad Thai chicken had great flavor & you can choose how spicy you would like your dish. The waitress/hostess was very sweet & friendly. I enjoy some hot tea & a great glass of wine with my meal.
