Sunshine Family Restaurant is that nostalgic cafe you're looking for that serves a delicious breakfast. It can get busy on weekends but we haven't had to wait terribly long either time we went on a Sunday. About 15 minutes wait each time we showed up there around 10:30 AM. Bring your family, and your appetite, and enjoy.

If you want a great quick homestyle made breakfast with Family or friends its here in Dubuque. Staff are friendly and kind. Their service is well above par. Parking meters take quarters just an FYI.

Stopped in for lunch. Felt like we inconvienced the server. She only came back once after giving us our food...to give us our check. My husband got up to pay and our table was swarmed by employees trying to clear it. I felt rushed to leave and uncomfortable with the invasion of personal space. The food was good but the experience as a whole was not. I could understand, maybe, if it was close to 3 pm closing time, but it was only 2 when we finished.

We had a very good breakfast, place was very busy but got seated right away. It did not take very long for our food to come. We got a lot of food and the price was great. Wonderful place for breakfast and awesome service.

A good little diner. Busy and bustling. Had a tasty ny strip and three perfectly poached eggs. Coffee was full and hot. Waitress delivered just the right amount of attention. I liked the idea of leaving tip at counter while paying the ticket as well.

I WOULD RECOMMEND THAT YOU WAIT UNTIL CUSTOMERS LEAVE TO SWEEP AND VACUUM INSTEAD OF SWEEPING RIGHT WHERE PEOPLE ARE EATING. THEN HAVING TO LEAVE WITH A WET FLOOR. DISGUSTING AND DISRESPECTFUL TO CUSTOMES. FOOD IS NOT THAT GREAT. NEVER TO RETURN!

My fave breakfast spot in DBQ. Go early on the weekends if you don’t want to wait, but even when you do wait, it’s very short. The food comes out fast, and they turn over tables quickly, but you’ll never feel rushed. The prices are extremely reasonable and the service is always good.

Oh my God. What an amazing place! My girlfriend and I went here on a busy Saturday morning, and were seated and eating within 15 minutes! The food was great, with big portions at low prices. We'll be back tomorrow!

Omgoodness!!! The place was packed, we sat at the bar. We gave our order and noticed that the pick up counter was full of plates to be gotten and like magic they were cleared off and stacked again. We had our food in no time flat. Refills plenty and smile with all. You could tell who was in charge, but not needing to say a word. The girls all had a place and helped each other out. Amazing Breakfast. This is a must stop for breakfast. Thank you for a memorable meal. ♡♡

Super family friendly dining! Staff was helpful and welcoming. Clean restaurant with a variety of dishes for all. Tons of great options- even if you have a picky eater in your family. They do offer a kids menu as well. The food was great and filling. Parking lot is next to the restaurant or there is street parking.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn across the street and saw this place out of the window when we got up the next morning. Decided to give it a try since it was walking distance and we were in a rush. The seating area looked full when we walked in the door, but we were seated immediately. A quick browse of the menu and we placed the order. Food arrived at the table before I finished my first cup of coffee. And it was amazing! One of the best skillet breakfasts I've had. Waitress was super friendly and kept our coffee topped off the entire time we were there. Will definitely return next time we are in town.

The place is nice, clean and comfortable with lots of seating. Our waitress was professional and the food arrived quickly. My wife wanted cheese on top of her egg, which they must have microwaved to melt because her eggs turned greenish and had to be cut with a knife. The bacon was completely burnt and crumbled like thin bark. Seriously I have never seen bacon that bad before, I think they microwave that too. Pancakes were good and Denver omelette was OK. But I would never go back .

The service was horrible. Our waitress gave us the check as soon as we got our meal. And before we finished she already had her jacket on to leave. Never been so rushed to finish my food which was mediocre at best. The reason I gave it 2 stars was for the cleanliness of the place and the price of the food. Will never eat here again.

Great brunch spot to try out in Dubuque. It had a classic diner feel to it, which I love. They have good portions, good prices, and fast service, which helps due to them always being busy in the mornings. They also have a counter to sit at if you prefer to be in and out, which is a good touch. Overall a great little restaurant.

Packed on a Saturday. However, the wait was only estimated at 10 minutes. We actually waited for about 5 minutes. Food was delivered incredibly fast from the time of ordering... It was pretty shockingly fast! I ordered a full order of Biscuits & Gravy. It was delicious. My only word of warning is parking: park on the west side of the building. There is a lot on the south side of the building, but it has no outlet. Once you pull into it and there are no spaces, your only option is to back out onto the street. The west parking lot of much bigger and open. I would definitely eat here again!
