I wouldn't even rate this one star, i had my mother, fiance, sister-inlaw and 2 babies that are 1 year and 3 years old. My fiance and sister both had hairs in there food. And once we we're done a lady behind us had JUST got there food brought to there table and almost instantly the hash browns was taken back due to having hair in it. Absolutely disappointed...

We give it a try few times. service is good but the food is....yikes...The quality of food is HORRIBLE. You can find better food at the frozen section at your local walmart. Thats why the low prices. You get what you pay for.

I would avoid the hot beef sandwich, it is made with sliced deli roast beef. The soup was obviously from a can. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. Would not go again.

My first visit here, I ordered the chicken dinner. It was a tad bit dry and I thought I should have gotten a roll with it. Other than that, it is a great restaurant, a place where a person can go in and sit. The building is clean, handicap accessible, with plenty of parking. The onion rings are some of the best I have ever had. The waitresses were amazing and filled our glasses before they were empty and they knew what we needed before we even asked. They said that the chicken dinner would take twenty extra minutes, but the food arrived piping hot right away. This is a very popular place, filled with lots of people. I will definitely return.

I've been here twice now, first time i could have cooked better. Second time took the the kids, let's just say the kids menu was extremely poor for what was paid for it and the bathrooms needed lots of work. No where to change the baby, but the floor. Yuck! Plus they never brought anything for the kids to color or do. As a sit down restaurant you tend to expect that.

Spoke to three people about a choice between three local restaurants, and each one said Riverside topped their list. On my way. About a mile down from a Walmart in Fairfield, is Riverside 3. There is Plenty of parking. Inside, first off, you notice the decor is more upscale than the norm, and the cleanliness, along with the lighting, is very welcoming. I asked for a table where I could plug in my laptop and that was not a problem. I was fortunate to have Abby as my Server. Another waitress brought me coffee, often, and she was very friendly as well. I did not get her name. Shame on me. Abby answered all my questions about the menu, and I settled on breakfast. The food arrived hot, prepared as I asked, and the order was spot on. The Reviews here constantly mention the Service and the portions served. They are accurate. A lot of food and the prices were fair. I would not hesitate to stop here in the future. I am sure it will be the same friendly, clean restaurant, and I know I will want to take a nap after another filling meal at Riverside. Thank you folks!

The food was great, fast and reasonably priced. Our waitress, Tracy, was absolutely fast, courteous, did not hover, but was right there if we needed anything. I dont like Fairfield, but ill be here to eat again.

While the food and pricing is good, the service is unfortunately lackluster and bordering on rude. Having a server argue with a customer over their meal, not checking back up on them, or dropping a check without asking if there’s anything else they’d like seems a bit counter-intuitive. Maybe it’s an one off issue but as American restaurants are a tip driven economy you’d think more effort would be put in.

Prices good. My skillet had cold potatoes and almost no meat. Wifes hot beef was underpar as well. My inlaws love the place. I won't be back. Thus is the first bad review i have ever left any restaurant. Wait staff was wonderful.

Ate here tonight not a bit impressed chicken not done could only eat half of baked potato. Potato soup taste like thickened chicken broth found 4 pieces of potatoes. Not even close to the Ottumwa restaurant!

The food is yummy and with healthy portions. It took a long time for us to order due to a miscommunication, but they took it amongst themselves to fix the problem even though we did not officially complain about the wait. How someone fixes a problem is far more important to me than everything being perfect every time. Great sign of customer service :)

I have ate there 6 times not near as good as ottumwa riverside Bad ribs freezer burnt with bad smell, prime rib tonight terrible nasty seasoning and a green shiny coating on meat never seen before. They have good chicken and cold and walleye I didn't want battered fries that's what I was served even the catsup was spoiled. Never again will I eat there. I will pay anybody's rib meal for free if they can eat 1 bite. Why dont they taste what they are serving. Horrible please font eat here. 0 stars stomach is cramping

I ordered the 12oz ribeye dinner. Service was prompt and good, but the food was ghastly. The steak was 5oz at best, and mostly fat. There were also flies buzzing all around my table. Baked potatoes seemed to be about 3 days old, way over cooked. Very small portion, yet the same price as a real steakhouse. Very disappointed with the food. But, like I said, good service. I'm not from the area, so it's probably the only time I'll eat here. If I do come again, I'll probably order a burger. Seems more their speed.

Went here to eat today. The food was good, but the experience was unpleasant. It was so cold in the restaurant that people were shivering and going back to their cars for jackets. Despite asking multiple staff to adjust the temperature, the air conditioner continued to blow for another 45 minutes. I and my fiance were miserable the entire time and couldn't even finish our meals because they got cold so quickly. One of the waitresses lied and argued with me, saying that only 2 people complained. I heard at least 6 people tell them it was too cold. Even the ones who didn't say anything were sitting there shivering. My advice if you go there... the food is good, but bring a parka and hopefully you won't encounter argumentative staff.

Need more servers. I felt bad for the server who was running around alone like crazy. My sister's burger tasted like it was microwaved. She got a burger because it was our first time here and she thought you can't go wrong with a burger. Well she was wrong you can. She ate her fries and left the rest. My club sandwich and husband's openfaced brisket sandwich were excellent. So a little mixed feelings here.
