I absolutely love this restaurant it is consistent with good people, delectable food, and great atmosphere. This is the most diverse menu but everything they make and I mean from fried chicken, spaghetti, burgers, sandwiches, and even the nachos it's all the equally good. Not a place to disappoint. My only set back is the coffee isn't strong enough for me but hey I still order it. I'm 28 years old so if that tells you how generational transcending this place is all ages will enjoy the food.

Family restaurant with average food. Friendly service. The feta spinach omelette was flat and dry. But hash browns were made to my request, crispy and light. Fun (intentional?) misspellings on the menu and outdoor sign gave us a good chuckle. ("Tomatoe", "brocolly", "tree egg", and "cook'in") Fun place. Definitely going back there.

Hubby enjoyed his food. I asked for tea and I was delivered luke warm water. Bacon was cooked but just to the point of chewy and I didn't care for the flavor. They don't offer egg substitute so had egg whites and they were good.

Context is important...this is a small independent spot in small-town Oskaloosa. It serves local members of the community daily. It's embraced by the people who live there. It's busy every morning and at lunch - for good reason - they're reasonably priced and they serve a consistent quality from a huge menu! My only real complaint is that I've tried a few cuts of meat - like a beef dish, and a pork dish, and they were both overcooked. But something that is cooked to order, including their chicken breast meals are great. Can't beat this place for breakfast dishes...and, for the quality of food, and the service, you can't beat the pricing (anywhere that I know of).

Fried chicken and meatloaf we're both very good. Pretty standard fare as to what many people might expect, which is good. We do like things a little on the edge, but the food delivered up here was high quality. very attentive and friendly service. The crust on the peach pie was thicker and not as flakey as I like. We got enough fried chicken and meatloaf with a standard order for a couple of more meals. The mashed potatoes seemed real and tasty.

When seated hostess was rude, waitress never checked on us, all food was cold. When checking out it took over 15 minutes, hostess didn't know what she was doing.

I would have given it more stars - if the cook or cooks could actually cook a basic chesseburger with musrooms. Witch by the way was not that grate at all and defently wasnt made to order the way i ordered it or wanted it as well either. it was totally the cooks way and not the customers at all. Thats defently called no experience or very very little of a cook at best. The service was grate but that doesnt make up for a bad chesseburge at all. The very bad chesseburger and fries wasnt worth the price of it at all and im not kidding at all

It was the lousiest dinner and service we have ever had here. First we had NO silverware for awhile after we had our food, then it was dirty. We were to get 2 sides of soup to go. We over heard the waitress tell someone else they were out of soup. They never did have any! We confronted our waitress she said yes she had ours and then she changed her story. They wouldn't have any for 1 1/2 hours. They had NO dishwashers. All they had was young kids running the place. Nobody to do anything about the problems with our orders. They just LOST at least 4 customers.

Food's good, service is heavily lacking. I got, as I do most visits, the steak and clam dinner. Had a deadline to attend to. Long story short, I waited 15 minutes for toast and a box. Refills were inconsistent at best.

I ordered fried catfish, it did not specify weather it was bone in or filleted. It was bone in, having bone in fish is a health hazard! And one of my guests had a burger that was very dry. None of our food had and "flavor" and our waitress was undertrained.

We went to family restaurant around supper time. We went as a family of 4. 2 adults and a teenager and a 1 year old. We got seated rights away and got our drink order in. Our waitress then walked away. We sat for 25 min before getting up and leaving. It's the worst service we've ever had. Our waitress walked by us 3 times and acted like she didnt see us. We nor our family will eat here again and that's sad bc we use to eat there ok nice a week.

Not really paying attention when new customers are walking in the doors . Waitress need to be more on task when the customer ask for something and takes forever for him or her to get back to you before your food gets cold . Just a little more pep in the step would be thankful.

I came in as a group of four. We were seated right away, we got our menus, and drink orders were taken. Drinks were served quickly. We had two ladies working our table who were kind. I ordered a salad with Italian dressing and potato soup with crackers. The salad was basic. The salad dressing tasted like a cheap-generic-Kraft-brand dressing. The soup was cold, very yellow in color, too creamy and too thick. It lacked flavor. I added some salt and it was still gross. I think the food is over priced for the quality. I can cook better than the food served at this restaurant. Maybe I just need to order something different.

While staying in Oskaloosa for the Good Guys car show, we stopped in on a Sunday morning. We were seated promptly and or waitress was at the table within 2 minutes. She was a definite pro! Took our orders quickly and brought our food in about 10 minutes. I ordered eggs over easy, toast and bacon. Everything was cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the same and he was also pleased. Will definitely be back next year!

This place used to be the place to go to eat....it's good food but I went there for breakfast today it wasn't busy my eggs weren't cooked all the way through the salt and pepper shakers were full of nastiness and didn't work my mom's omelet was made wrong...our waitress was the only good part about our visit this time...

Food has largely improved from years ago way back when I have come here a few times. Now its always hot, freshly cooked, and wait staff on their toes..yet relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Seriously this place (& Taso's) is me & my family's favorite place in town to eat now. No matter what each are in the mood for, you can find it on the extensive menu. (My personal fave is the Friday all u can eat fish!), and you can always find a good slice of homemade pie freshly made in the case. I love their food, and I am a picky person when it comes to judging quality; I make everything at home homemade..and want the same on nights I don't feel like cooking. This place fits the bill. And talk about bill..you will be pleasantly surprised when you see yours at the end of your meal. That makes me and hubby happy :-) You can either dress up or dress down and feel comfortable either way. A great staff with a great manager :-) highly recommend!
