We just hosted a party of 15 for a special event and everything was amazing!!!! The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. I would give them 10 stars if we could. We honestly could not have been more pleased with the experience.

Fancy place for special events, creative menu choices that may change from time to time. I ordered their special Filet mignon steak and it was perfectly made. My husband took a salmon plate decorated nicely with caviar. Pricey place but the atmosphere is suitable for special dinner with your beloved ones.

We stopped here because I looked it up on Travel Advisor and it was rated very well. Parking is limited around this restaurant, but they do have valet parking. We sat downstairs here, by their fireplace which felt wonderful. They said the upstairs was a more formal setting, but we opted for a quiter spot. My dad raised beef, so I know a good steak needs to be aged. I tasted the BEST Filet Mignon I have ever had tonight. It was incredibly delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if your looking for a delicious dinner. If everything else here is prepared as well as my steak, you won't regret anything your get here for a meal. Definitely high on my list of places.

One of our favorite Iowa City restaurants! We have never had a bad meal here. We often come for special family events like birthdays or Mother's Day. Try the mussels, the fish board, and the duck! But everything is good and the service is excellent. I also like the bar downstairs, its very friendly and comfortable.

Awesome - came here for happy hour on a weekday. Loved the $2 beer and sandwich baskets. My guest really appreciated the fish and chips. Really good. Will be back for a special occasion - because otherwise the menu is a little pricey for regular dining. Would like to see daily features on the happy hour menu - spice it up and make me come back!

Easily one of the best high-end dining experiences available in Iowa City. Orchard Green has a pricey menu but offers excellent seafood platters you won't find anywhere else in the area. We've been lucky enough to get to go there several times, and every visit has been delicious. As the menu is seasonal, it's difficult to say exactly which dishes are best, but we've greatly enjoyed the shrimp and scallops, the arctic char (which has an incredible sauce filled with generous lobster chunks), and the Alaskan halibut. Every dish shows great attention to detail and heavy consideration of the small touches. Aside from the food, which should be more than enough reason to go, the atmosphere is semiformal but warm and inviting, the staff is extremely attentive and knowledgeable about each dish, and the drink menu has great depth. We love coming here and would recommend it to anyone looking to celebrate an anniversary, birthday or other big event.

Have been here thrice because of a few parties or get togethers. Vegetarian friends were disappointed because only dish that they can eat is a risotto which was tasteless.!

A small restaurant with an oddly ornate and quite beautiful interior. The floors are a mixture, almost a mosaic, of hardwood and marble, for example. The ceilings are 20 feet high, with multiple beautiful multi-gobe chandeliers. I had the seafood bouillabaisse, and it was truly delicious. Service was prompt and pleasant.

Would have rated higher except there were some problems with service. Sweet kid (looked like she was a high-schooler but was probably older) forgot my bar order. She also asked us if she "could bring us some bread while we waited for entrees?" and at end of meal, we noticed we were charged $6 for the bread. The scallops were very nice and my spouse said the pork dish was one of the best he's had. Lamb dish was fine, but not the highest quality lamb.

The two times I had eaten here were fantastic with excellent food and service so brought my family here for a special birthday dinner and was disappointed. Service was good but the pork scaloppini was too salty, the risotto was sticky and bland and the chicken pasta was just ordinary. With the expense I would expect excellence every time.

Food took much longer to come out than necessary, especially when it's not even cooked food and you see people who came in after you get their cooked food before you. Otherwise good food and atmosphere. Other experiences were better, maybe it was too busy for them to handle today.

Orchard Green is a great place for date night. Although pricey, it is worth the money in my opinion - and I am a college student with not a ton of extra spending money. The atmosphere is cozy, dimly lit, and rich. Madi and I felt special at Orchard Green, because the service makes you feel unique. And this is the biggest testament to the restaurant: we will go again!

Food was good, not great. Customer service does not even merit a comment. There was a billing issue that I tried to resolve on the phone (my card was run to pay not only my bill my that of my companion who's card was also charged.) They promised to call me back, never did. I had to go there to have the issue resolved - that also was torturous. TLDR: Food is ok, pay cash.

They were amazing and made sure everything went according to plan. They even played the music I requested for the proposal. I can't thank them enough. If I had more stars I would give. Did I mention that the food was mind blowing. I have never been more impressed.

Hands down one of the best places around. I recommend going upstairs. The atmosphere and staff truly make it "a dining experience." Valet parking is a life saver. White table cloths is a nice touch. The waitress we had, excelled at bottle service. Every dish I have had has been nothing short of exquisite. I enjoy the charcuterie boards here was well. Perfect for a date night or a relaxing, spoil yourself after a long week type of place. Highly recommend!

Our group of 18 friends and Iowa alums sat down for dinner at Orchard Green on Friday evening prior to the Iowa/Wyoming game. Every person raved about the quality of the food, the very helpful and accommodating waitstaff, and the environment. The GM also gave excellent feedback on my initial call about some gluten free options. When we return to Iowa City in a year or two for another game then Orchard Green will be at the top of our list for Reservations. Thanks to all of you! At the risk of sounding incredibly snobby, having traveled the world and tasted many a fine food, I can say that Orchard Green will not disappoint. People tend to believe that because Iowa is in the middle of nowhere, finding good quality high-end food will be a struggle, but I can assure anyone that this restaurant will not disappoint. The service is amazing, environment is gorgeous, and the food is absolutely delectable. Having lived in IC for several years and eaten at this restaurant many times, I have never been remotely close to unhappy or disappointed with my experience here. If you have the time and money I would say that Orchard Green is a must!

A good friend recommended we visit Orchard Green to celebrate a special occasion, and we couldn't have been more pleased with the evening. The complimentary valet parking was a nice start to the evening since we weren't familiar with the parking situation around the restaurant. The restaurant's atmosphere was perfect for conversation in a very cool setting. The server was courteous, cheerful, and provided great recommendations. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of meal from the signature Orchard Green martini, to the crab cake appetizers, followed by walleye entree and vegetable risotto, and finished off splitting the chocolate torte for dessert. Highly recommend if you are looking for a very nice meal in a great setting!

Great atmosphere, friendly and professional wait staff. Food is delicious, presentation of food is exquisite. It is very expensive though. And then portions are extremely small. Dinner for just two of us ran about $145.00, and even though we both loved the experience and everything tasted great, we both were hungry when we left, and had to make dinner once we got home. I'm 6 foot and 175lbs, my partner is 5'11 and 135lbs. So we are both very thin. So when I say we were hungry when we left...well that truly says something about the amount of food. That's my only complaint really. I would say it was well worth every penny we paid....if we were not still hungry at the end.

We had a reservation at 8 pm for 2 and did not get seated until 9 pm. We were told it would be a 5 minute wait. During this time no one came with updates. When we were seated there were other open tables available. We waited and waited more. At 1015 we decided to leave after not being served well over two hours past our reservation. First time walking out on a restaurant especially a “nice” on. Incredibly disappointing experience at this place that ruined the night.

The location is a little out of the way from downtown, but the trek is worth it. The ambience is warm and romantic, and the food is divine, especially the filet mignon and the blueberry creme brulee. They have a good selection of wine and cocktails, too.

I was part of a party of nine on Saturday night. We had made reservations for 7pm a few weeks prior and were shown promptly to our table on the second floor. The restaurant was impressive and our waiter was attentive for the first drink and appetizer order. Approximately thirty minutes into the meal, and after we ordered our entrees, everything stopped. For one hour, we rarely saw anyone come to our table but we saw full tables seated, fed and leave while we sat there. Once in awhile we would flag someone down and sometimes order another bottle of wine or replace a drink. At 8:42 pm, we sought out and found our missing in action waiter. I asked to see the Manager and we were assured "it would only be a few more minutes." No one came to us, telling us of delays, we have to find our guy. At 9:15, I told the manager we were leaving. He apologized and was gracious enough to comp the appetizers, drinks and the wine. Nine people walked out of the restaurant, drove home and ordered pizza from a local place and marvelled at the lack of professionalism, the total lack of communication and the complete CLUELESSNESS of the restaurant staff. I appreciate a free drink, I appreciate them eating about $100+ worth of drinks and appetizers but I have no idea what was going through their minds for TWO HOURS (really two hours and fifteen minutes) while we sat there like nine bumps on a log. BRUTAL: one of the worst dining experiences I have had in my entire life.

I’ve only been here once but I will definitely come back. Every dish we ordered blew my mind. We had some kind of polenta appetizer and also ciabatta with olive oil and pesto. The polenta was really soft and spongy, I loved it. My main dish was pistachio crusted white fish, and it was fantastic. I devoured it so fast! For dessert, I had pecan pie and it was really good (but nothing out of the ordinary though). One of my friends asked for no bacon in her dish and they were happy to accomodate her request. The service was very polite and nice to us. We went on a friday night so we had to wait quite a bit for our dishes but it was worth it. It was pricey too but again, I felt like it was worth it.

Nom nom nom! Everything was so good. Especially the Brussels sprouts. Who'd a thunk Brussels sprouts could be so good? But they were! Made dinner of 3 appetizers: Sprouts, crabcakes, and a veggie medley that was kinda like tempura. Desserts were yummy, too, but it was too much food with dessert
