Great food and atmosphere here. Drinks are cold and strong. If you haven't been here it's worth a trip. They have several classic German dishes as well as some homespun ones. Staff if friendly but expect to wait a while when it's busy.

Great place that has a big outdoor seating with an outdoor bar! Have a place where bands perform inside and outside! Beer is always ice cold and they a lot of selection of beers!!! Nice prices on beer and alcohol too!!! Staff is good and on point!!! Haven't tried there food yet but hope so soon!!!

Oh so tasty! Their potato pancakes and spaetzle are delicious! I always have to visit Bierstube when I come to the QC. Their food is a favorite. I recommend the Reuben and pretzel with Nutella, but all of their food is good.

Bierstube seems to be doing something right. Over the years, many businesses have come and gone from downtown Moline, but the Bierstube has endured. If I had any confusion about why, that was dispelled when I went to Metalfest with my wife. For very reasonable prices, we had an evening of great entertainment. We had actually intended to visit a different restaurant that evening, but when we found that one closed, we headed to an "old favorite" and stepped into Bierstube. After the best pretzels ever and some wonderful dinner and a few beers, we popped over to metalfest where we enjoyed some great entertainment for a few hours until we closed the place that night. Kudos to a business that always remembers that great food, drink and entertainment endures!

Terrible service. We were not greeted for the first 5 minutes. Then, we did not recieve our 3 drinks until 22 minutes after arriving. The server was annoyed when I asked her what was on tap and said she didn't know. Then, after staring at me for 5 seconds said "I guess I can go find out if you want me to." She asked all of us to repeat everything we said for every order and then point to it on the menu. When delivering our orders, she did not know what went where and served mine to me saying "Here's your whatever." I asked if she was new and she said she was and then said "I don't know how to pronounce anything here." The food was not terrible, but a mere shadow of what is served at the Le Claire location. Go there instead if you want an enjoyable experience.

Stopped by for a quick lunch on a short schedule. Very fast and super friendly service. I had the Reuben, which has to be in my top five Reubens I've had. I got it with Spatzel, which was hands down the best spatzel I've ever had. Wish I lived near enough to come back! If you are in the area you have to give them a try!

Came to the restaurant about 430 to eat before we went to an event. Service was very slow and inconsistent , several times we were forgotten or just passed over, not sure which . We were looking forward to a few of our favorite menu items but were told that there was a limited menu because of "everything" going on downtown that night. I guess planning ahead to make sure all your patrons were attended to no matter what was going on downtown was not thought of. We waited 45 minutes for our waitress to come to the table to take our order. When the food came it was to say the least non impressive. The schnitzel was overcooked and tough and very small. The chicken sandwich I ordered was rubbery and so little I wasn't sure there was chicken in it when it was set in front of me. The grilled cheese and Reuben burger were so so but for the amount of $ we spent (130.00) , we left feeling underwhelmed and robbed. There was also supposed to be a band inside and out but they ended up packing up and going outside only. We would have liked to hear the band too. We will not likely return or recommend this location.

I have gone to for different places looking for a corned beef sandwich. They were all EXTREMELY disappointing, to be nice. I came here going for a good experience but expecting nothing close. I ordered my sandwich, they put the wrong bread (marble) and old fries. But the sandwich was not awful. They were pretty skimpy on the meat for 12 bucks. But it wasn't bad. The bartender was pleasant.

A very iconic downtown Moline staple. The German atmosphere makes for a great surrounding to take in a beer and a werst. The establishment has 3 atmospheres to enjoy. A bar, a dinning room, and a beer garden. I highly suggest that you try the Bavarian Pretzel sticks.

The food was great as always, but the service was absolutely horrible. We were seated immediately but then waited almost 15 minutes before a waitress finally stopped by to ask if we wanted drinks. Another 10 minutes before she came back with them and menus. We were both out of drinks but noone came by to see if we needed another one. Another long wait with our dirty plates in front of us, and then I made a trip to find our waitress to tell her that we needed our check. A few people sitting at a table near us had to seek out the same waitress after a lengthy wait when arriving as well. What a shame and disappointment because the food was good and we have always enjoyed coming here. We won't be back for a while.

About a week ago my fiance, mom, step-dad and I all ended up finding bierstube while in Moline for the first time and we were very dissatisfied. We are all, in some part, German and every Christmas Eve we have a German dinner. Until recently we had always ordered our items from online, but the place we used closed recently. After doing some research and finding Katy's Imports in Moline to be the closest place to us (even though it was 2.5 hours away!) we decided to check it out. After we were done finding all our German goodies there we decided to go out to eat and did a search for restaurants near us. Low and behold there was a German restaurant in the list! What better way is there to finish our journey but with a nice German meal, and possibly the beginning of a new tradition! Upon arrival at the restaurant my insides were getting giddy and I was so excited! The outside of the building was super cute! The inside was cozy, but was a bit lacking in decor. Nearly every German restaurant I've ever been too was filled with all kinds of little chachkies and it's almost like a little museum of sorts. This didn't have that but the German style seating was cool. We ordered our pop and some onion rings as an appetizer. The onion rings and the ranch dip they came with were delicious! And made us even more excited for our entrees! The pop, however, had a really weird flavor, and even my stepdad, who got iced tea, said it was the worst he has ever had. We all ordered the schnitzel, 3 of us got it with spätzle and potato salad, and my stepdad got it with potato pancakes, and I believe red cabbage. The 3 of us asked for the gravy on the spätzle instead of the schnitzel. All 4 of our schnitzels were very dark brown, borderline burnt, and lacked seasoning. Everything had a strange flavor to it, and the seasoning on the spätzle was either too strong, or something was off. In addition to tasting weird the potato salad was different than any German potato salad I've ever had. And while that could possibly be a regional thing (maybe that style is from a different region in Germany) the odd taste certainly wasn't that. Overall we all left unhappy. Having spent $100 for onion rings, essentially. And while they were good they weren't $100 good! We aren't sure if the water in Moline has a weird taste we aren't used to and picked up on in the meal, and/or if there was other things at play but sadly we won't be returning! What a shame because it could have been beautiful new tradition!

I occasionally like to go here on Thursdays 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. there is karaoke. The main area is a little small and nothing really speaks to me about the food. drinks are reasonably priced and bartenders skilled.

Our first time here. We'll be back! Quaint atmosphere. We shared sausage/brat sampler. Generous serving and included cheese, chutney, brown mustard and cheese spread. Enough for four people. Dozens of beers to choose from. We found a rare one that we hardly ever find. Guys next to us were taking the Boot challenge. Fun time!

The menu said one thing but we were brought another and rather than fixing it, we were just told what the menu should say and then they walked away. Very disappointing.

We had a pretty terrible experience here. We sat for 10 minutes before anyone spoke to us. And then the waitress came to speak to us 3 times in an hour and a half. We waited over an hour to get our food while 3 tables who got here after us got theirs. I’m sure it was a mistake with the kitchen maybe, but the waitress didn’t say anything. No apologies. She didn’t even introduce herself. And the food was fine.

I had a lot of hope for this establishment as it appeared to look like a good place that offered a good selection of German food and drinks. However appearances can be deceiving, and poor service can ruin any meal. I will say that they do have a very good selection of German beers but the food left a little to be desired. It was served barely warm enough to be acceptable and a lot of it was "leftover" quality. All of this may go back to the poor service though. We literally had to go to the bar to order our second beers, after waiting probably 10 mins to be served after sitting down. The place could not be considered busy by any stretch at this time. Some of our party also had extra drinks added to their bills. There are much better places to drink and dine in the immediate vicinity.

Bierstube serves the traditional kind of German food that is something my Grandmother would have cooked. The service has always been prompt during the lunch hours, and the lunch specials are always very reasonable. There is usually plenty of parking in the street or the back-lot. Bierstube is a great place to go for lunch or dinner if you're in the mood for some classic German food.

Service is absolutely atrocious. I love German food but the two entrees ordered at my table were a far cry from something edible. Potato pancakes were mushy piles lacking in flavor and abundant in grease. The bacon on the green beans were literally Bacos you’d buy off the supermarket shelf. At least they tried to make up for it with the 2oz of apple sauce served on the side in a Dixie cup. NEVER AGAIN! I’d rather have taken my $20 I spent here, put it into a paper sack, and thrown it off a bridge.

sadly both times I have been here the service has been very slow. We've had to go get our server for refills. (2 different servers). Saturday night we came here for a few drinks and they were very weak and not tasty at all.. and when others were done with their drinks, I had to go to the bar and ask for someone to come to our table to assist us.

poor service, waitresses were not busy only 3 tables in whole place with customers , no one at the bar, we sat and our waitress brought our menus and asked if she could come back to take our drinks, even tho all we wanted was two waters and drinks for our 2 kids, after waiting for 15min they finally came out of the back still chit chatting with co-workers laughing and hanging on each other(which seemed to be more important) after waiting another 5min of them talking an no service no drinks and hungry kids my husband stormed out. even after I waited another minute and walked out with the kids they had no respect to ask us to stay! so over 20min and no service and they were not busy serving the other customers either. the worst that we have experienced here yet!!! but dont worry the barrell house was able to service us right away and they were busy and the food was great! thankfully just a few doors down with hungry kids and great service

Loved it! I wish I had a Bier Stube in my town! Although, if I did, I'd probably have a drinking problem and be 450 lbs. from eating too many schnitzels! I walked in and the record scratched and everyone turned and looked at me, but for the first time in my life, it wasn't a "who's this freak" kind of look. It was more along the lines of Elf. I almost felt like someone was going to give me a hug and ask me what my favorite color was. One gentleman at the bar actually said hello to me. He was wearing a Cubs hat, so we were on the same wavelength. Anyways, the food was Uber good! I love a good schnitzel and they served me up a thick, tender, crispy one that was full of flavor. I could eat schnitzel for dinner every night! They came with two sides. I got the potato pancakes and spatzle. The pancakes were delicious. The spatzle... not bad, but they were seasoned with something that I couldn't put my finger on and weren't typical for spatzle. I'd still get it again though. The beer list was awesome and offered a ton of German biers! This was my first time in this area, but this place makes me want to move in next door! Prost!!!

I assume the everything would has been better had we not gone during their Octoberfest party. Will avoid that next year.
