Definitely on the higher end for the atmosphere, but yet the prices were very reasonable despite being such a nice place. I enjoyed the food and had good service as well. The Steak Philly sandwich with home-made ranch chips was delicious! Definitely a great spot for a nice meal, nice date, or treating a customer to a nice meal. Check it out!!!

I've had dinner and drinks here but this was my first time experiencing the brunch buffet for 32$. Wow, what a good time. Grilled cheese bar, all the breakfast options, soups, tacos, deserts, bloody Mary bar and mimosas and many more. The quality of the food is good and better than most buffets for having so many options. I will be back and try to bring many people with me.

I only had drinks and apps here but they were well made and the service was top notch. I look forward to eating here sometime as I've been multiple times and only had an app before an event or drinks with some friends so I haven't gotten the full experience. That said, Americana is a awesome ambiance. It's noisy but not cramped and you don't feel like you need to shout to talk to people at your table. Pricing is medium but fits the type of restaurant and its location. Like I said, I haven't had the food but mixed drinks were between $7 and $12 but seemed to be of high quality and the service is on point. I'll update my review once I've eaten st Americana.

Sunday brunch is second best in Des Moines. I've celebrated some birthdays here, wouldn't recommend it for groups over 6. It's busy, the kitchen is amazing, wait staff is hit and miss. Call ahead if you want to dine in with a group.

Americana is one of my favorite places to eat and grab a few drinks in Des Moines. The food, service, and drinks are excellent. I've never ordered something I didn't just love. The Thai Tacos and Polenta Frites are my new favorites. Even the staff that work here LOVE the food. I couldn't recommend this place more. Plus, the location is right across the street from Des Moine's sculpture park, which is a nice area for a stroll after indulging in the food and drinks at Americana. And the bartenders know how to make excellent cocktails and make everyone feel welcome. One more thing, the atmosphere in this place is cool! It used to be an old Chrysler Dealership way back in the day. The building that houses Americana has history and nostalgic decor!

We came to Americana because we had burgers on our mind. We didn't notice their lunch and dinner menu changed so drastically when it came to burgers, from six at lunch and two at dinner. But really there was only one when I questioned the waiter about it. Boursin Burger* was not on the dinner menu. We ordered the only burger we could, and waited a reasonable amount of time for our food. The Crab Rangoon was simple the best I have ever tasted. I ordered my burger medium and it was rare, pretty sure it moo'ed at me. I asked the waiter what he thought and he agreed they looked undercooked...and that is where he left it. $18 dollar burger and fries. For the choice at dinner I would skip this place unless you want steak, and even then can the "chef" cook it to your order.

The hype is REAL! The bombshell brunch is wonderful! So much variety and the endless Mimosas and Bloody Mary's hit the spot! Well worth the money! Our waiter Matt was amazing and definitely make sure you make reservations as it is super busy!

The Sunday buffet was really good, but i don't think anyone actually eats $20 worth of food! If you decide to go, MAKE RESERVATIONS because this place is busy!!!! I gave it 3 stars because our waitress, Ally, did not smile once the entire time she waited our table, hardly made eye contact and never really bothered to come to our table and take the dinnerware...another waitress had to do it! She even snatched the ticket and credit card from another waitress that was trying to help her out by taking it to her so she could cash us out! If you don't mind paying $20 for a brunch buffet; possibly getting a rude waitress and waiting over an hour to eat, (we had reservations) then go ahead and enjoy! The food was good!!

We were going to eat at proof but the waitress was a b*tch, so we walked across the street to Americana, very glad we did. The vibe of the place was much nicer, our waiter was friendly and quick with refills, food was good. All 5 of us were happy we ended up there, seemed much nicer overall than proof, which is prob why Americana was nearly full and proof was barely half full.

The Sunday brunch is very good. It used to be better, but they raised the prices and took out one of the best (and more expensive) parts of the brunch--fruit crepes. They still have fruit but not to the variety that they used to with the crepes. The fruit is now the average fruit that you could get at Perkins. The variety and amount of food is amazing and the food tastes good too. The bloody Mary and Mimosa bar has a lot of selection for you to custom make your drink but good luck getting your server to serve you the alcohol needed for your drink in a timely manner. Because it's a buffet on Sunday, I believe the servers are less attentive than they are normally so it's hard to find yours to get them to give you the alcohol so you can get more refills for your bloody Mary mimosa. I stopped getting the bloody Mary and Mimosa option after three visits, because after the first drink it's hard to find them. Parking is metered street parking (except Sunday) so that can be difficult. We went once for dinner and the food was good but not for the price. After our last visit, where we found out they took the crepes away (which is my Husband's favorite part of Americana brunch), I'm not sure if we'll be as frequent visitors as we were in the past. We used to love going but the difficulty of getting alcohol for your unlimited mimosa/bloody mary, the increased cost and now no crepes, we'll probably save it for out-of-town guests instead of our go-to brunch.

This place is just ridiculous! There's a grilled cheese station, a taco station, a loaded potato bar, a Mac and Cheese station, and several other breakfast buffet bars all under one roof. Add to that a bottomless Bloody Mary / Mimosa station and that equates to 2 hours of drinking and eating for just $32+tax. When you're full, walk around the neighborhood to get those steps in.

Grilled cheese station is good, lots of unique options there too. Reservations are never a bad idea for this place as they are pretty busy most of the time.

Go in with lower expectations than what most people will tell you about the place and you'll be fine. Yes it's good, but it's not a "can't miss" place. The brunch is good in that it has an excellent food and drink selection, but the quality of the food does not match the quantity. As someone who can't fit a lot in my belly, that makes this brunch not worth the price.

When calling in to make reservations to this restaurant, be prepared to repeat yourself several times because it seems that they can't hire anyone who can understand how to take a reservation over the phone. Horrible customer service when making a reservation.

I would recommend either showing up as soon as they open or making a reservation. But the food is fantastic, the service is better. The atmosphere is one of the best I have experienced. The first time I went I took my gf there fore breakfast, having no idea that it was a buffet that offers alcohol. I personally suggest the Bottomless Buffet that gives you Bottomless Mimosas or Bloody Marys as well as all you can eat. The selection of food is so massive and diverse I was incredibly surprised. And all of that fore 60$ fore 2 people.

My family and I have been out to Americana for multiple occasions and every time the food is delicious. The brunch buffet is one of the best around with a massive selection of fresh breakfast and lunch options. The $6 burger night (Sunday) is also a really good deal. Would highly recommend the nachos!

Rib eye was perfectly cooked to a medium rare plus. I was able to sub lemon parmesan asparagus for the potatoes and also kept the broccolini and the veggies were great. Bartender was my server she was friendly, attentive and provided for a quick service which is what I wanted. Great place!

Been going there for years. Had exceptionally mediocre service on a $65 tab for lunch. My favorite part of my meal was watching 4-5 service people standing by the bar laughing while my cup was empty. Don’t take my word for it, give Americana a try for yourself!

Went here for brunch for a friend's birthday. The food was amazing from the buffet and there were so many things to chose from. They have the option for you to make your own bloody mary and mimosa. They give some suggestions on what to mix together. I had never made a mimosa before so I found it a bit confusing. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. I will definitely be back.

Great place for a date night. Great service and amazing food. My fiance ordered the cherry glazed pork medallions and I ordered the salmon on a cedar plank. Both were super unique, and very flavorful. Both meals were about 26 dollars each, about right for the quality. Cant wait to go back again!

The service was great. The BlackBerry mule was really good as were the cheese curds. The filet medallions were ok but were lukewarm. The vegies was cold. They brought me hot vegies to replace the cold ones and took the cheese curds off the ticket, which was very nice.

Cute restaurant with great vibes. Good beer. Food was not so great. My husband ordered the Lobster Mac($23 no side) and they forgot to put the lobster in. I had the burger ( ordered med) and it was dry. The waitress offered to replace but by the time I would have waited - hunger no more. This might be a great app and beer place. Not for dinner!

Americana has a wonderful selection of breakfast and brunch foods, ranging from American breakfast delicacies to Hispanic derived items. Their all you can eat breakfast and bottomless mimosas or bloodies are totally worth the money. I would plan on spending a couple hours here and eating slow so you can taste all that they have to offer. Wear stretchy pants because you will get full!!

First visit my table was brought undercooked pork and still-frozen sweet potato lasagna. Waitress apologized profusely and went above and beyond to take care of the issue. Visited again and the food was really good. Only big complaint I have is how loud it gets with the open-air two story layout. Just a personal preference.

Go for the Bombshell Brunch. You don't have to worry about a thing except for eating until you pass out. The food is GREAT! I had to drop 2 stars because when I go on any other day (like last night for the Winner Winner Chicken Dinner) I get awful service. Last night we went for the all you can eat chicken they have on Monday nights. This chicken is GOLD. It is so good. The mashed potatoes too. The FOOD is fantastic. Our server was distracted similar to the last few times I've gone and ordered off the menu. Our drink orders were taken weird. He did get my child his drink quickly which was appreciated. For some reason, our chicken didn't come out quickly. You'd think with a popular special, they'd be cranking out chicken and sides as expected but that wasn't the case. We waited a while for our plates. We weren't offered any bread or anything. We got our food. Yummy as always. I ordered a second plate with just a leg and some potatoes and waited and waited.... luckily he let me box it up to go. I leave this review because I know that Americana can improve. I know they have what it takes. I'll update this the next time I stop in and let you all know how much they've improved since my last visit.

Great atmosphere. Great servers. Wasn't impressed with the female host. She seemed to be bothered at having to find a table for our group. I addition we had our infant (whose baptism we were celebrating) in his car seat by our table. The host needed more room for another group. She grabbed our son in his seat and move him into another corner by our table. We would have liked her to ask us to move him ourselves. As she was not as gentle as we would have liked and we wanted him close to us. I agree with others the brunch is good but not worth the price $20-36 per person. Lots of food and variety but not great quality. As a group that doesn't eat much we would have been better off finding a location that offered better quality food.

Americana brunch is a brunch above it all. Providing a huge amount of food, an amazing grilled cheese bar, and all the mimosas and Bloody Mary drinks you could want. I love to come here for the atmosphere and the service. Not a brunch person? Their food on a regular night is spectacular and is always made to perfection. My favorite part is the second floor dining balcony which provides privacy for you and your significant other. 100% recommend any day or night of the week.

Brunch was fantastic but they are rude. There is no law about bringing children to brunch. My kid is very well behaved and we take her out all the time. She's also a human. So I don't appreciate the ignorance being told we weren't told you'd be bringing a stroller. So would you be that ignorant about a wheel chair? Find new employees since yours are not friendly.

My husband and I went for a work Christmas party and everything was awesome! We tried a couple cocktails each that were very good. I had the sweet potato lasagna and would highly recommend it. My husband was in love with the New York Strip. The waitess was very nice too! Probably wouldn't be a place we'd go regularly because it's pricey but it's great for special occasions!

Menu is excellent with a wide variety for everyone in your group to find something. The lettuce wraps are bomb. We tried the gnocchi and the meatloaf, along with several cocktails. Everything tasted wonderful and was well balanced. The portion size is hearty as well, so no one left hungry. This place is a must if you are in Des Moines.

If you're new to Des Moines or have never been, put this one on your bucket list! There's literally something for everyone (vegans/vegetarians I'm talking to you!). Bombshell is the way to go imho. For an extra $12 u get unlimited bloodies & mimosas with all the fixins and there's many juices/toppings to choose from. I always like a place that lets a person back in the kitchen where the food is prepped. All those eyes means everything is tip top shape! Grilled cheese station is a nice bonus too. Definitely make a reservation because it's always busy here. So good!

The wife and I went with a free meal certificate, and showed the server before we ordered. He treated us with a great deal of respect, gave excellent suggestions on the menu, and answered all of our questions. Great staff, excellent food, and a good mix of patrons. Definitely will visit again.

So I'm stuck in des Moines Iowa... I googled breakfast diners... it brought this place up. Thank you Google, thank you Google. Quite literally the best breakfast brunch buffet anywhere. If you say you didnt like something. Consider this, you are not human. The quality and selection is amazing. Tip, hit the grilled cheese bar first. Incredible. Des Moines Iowa is the luckiest city around.

Great brunch. There were many different options from eggs to biscuits and gravy to pancakes to tacos. Something for everyone. They also have great endless mimosa or Bloody Mary bar. Definitely worth a try on the weekend brunch
