As you know, we don't usually bother to write opinions when they are positive and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant is included in the category of Cajun restaurant.
My husband and I visited Zydeco's during our brief stay in Indianapolis. I enjoyed their spin on Shrimp and Grits. Their menu had some unique dishes that if we had the time, would have been interesting to try.
True Cajun food! The whole restaurant has a family feel. They have plenty of wine, draft beer, and cocktails to choose from. The menu is authentic. We ordered the Jambalaya and Crawfish Poboy. Both were filling and fantastic. Don't forgot to try the Gator! We didn't have room for dessert, but the dishes at nearby tables looked yummy.
Small town eats! Big town price. Been 3 times and wont be returning... Waited 35min when we were told 10/15 min. Got a table, didnt see a waitress for another 10. Didnt recieve our bread(had to ask for it) meal came out, not what we ordered... This place needs more help and more friendly workers! Sorry to say, Last Time Going!! Goodluck
Wonderful atmosphere, takes you right back to the French Quarter! Very charming spot tucked in a very quaint town.
Holy moly. Hidden away in Mooresville is a true gem. Top-notch cajun food hidden away in a small-town storefront. Everything is made from scratch, and it shows. The food is delicious. I had the blackened catfish smothered in crawfish tails, along with a side of jambalaya, and it blew my mind. True comfort food. The little additions, such as the wonderful crusty French bread, garlic soup, and chicory-infused coffee only added to the meal's enjoyment. The staff was also wonderful. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the dishes they were serving, down to every last ingredient. Had to drive an hour to get here, and it was definitely worth it.
Good cajun food. Enjoyed the variety of dishes. Fun atmosphere and eclectic decor.
Good food great service
Delicious!!! Not from the area but happened upon this gem and we were quite happy with our meal. Sat in the bar area and Tina provided us with amazing service. Had the BBQ Shrimp and the blackened catfish with crawfish tails. Both were spectacular but I would definitely make the trip back to Indy just for that BBQ shrimp!!! Phenomenal!! Compliments to the chef.
This is easily the best place for real Cajun food in central Indiana.
I stopped because they've ABITA promoted outside thinking was a dive bar but when I got inside it's a big New Orleans cuisine restaurant. I was lucky to stop during their crawfish fest weekend. Everything we had was delicious. Alligator bites, crawfish, ABITA beer and bread pudding with rum sauce. Love that napkins has beads as napkins holder and you get to wear/keep them
The best Cajun place north of the Mason Dixon and east of the Mississippi!
Absolutely amazing food, great atmosphere, super amazing staff, the owner is beyond amazing! I recommend you bring everybody you know nobody will leave out of there without having a good time!
Came across at random while we were in town. Glad we did! Great food and staff Food was fantastic one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
Love this place, wish we lived closer to go more often.
Absolutely unbelievably delicious and wonderful!!!
Great Louisiana/ bayou food! And loved the atmosphere and staff. It is a little pricey but not horribly. Also enjoyed the band they had Saturday night.
The half and half (gumbo & jambalaya) is amazing! I order that and/or the garlic soup every visit. Owners are always present, and always busy helping. The atmospbere is very festive and friendly. It can take a bit to get your food or bar order on busy nights, but be patient it is worth the wait! The Hurricanes are delicious, but make sure you have DD because they are strong (yay!).
Great place! Service was great and the food was delicious. Jumbalia was great though don't be stingy with the andouille, it is very good.
Easily the best Cajun food in the Indianapolis area. Always a delight to come to this restaurant full flavor. The barbecue shrimp is a must order. save room for dessert because death by chocolate will not stop coming for you. There's something for everybody. Worth the drive from Indianapolis or anywhere else for this fantastic local spot. Make sure you get here early because the lines can get long on the weekends.
Fun atmosphere. Great service. Left still a bit hungry.
I'm a Louisiana native; and full blooded cajun. This place is legit caujun. I generally try to avoid everything called "cajun" outside of Louisiana. But Guy Fieri didn't steer me wrong. Saw it on Triple D years ago and always wanted to try it. It was worth the trip to Mooresville, IN. Great people, fine service and authentic cajun food.
Great atmosphere and I had plenty of food. We went home with boxes. Was very excited to see gator on the menu ! And king cake!
The Black Cat with crawfish tails is so tasty.
Had the choice Creole with chicken, only had about 6 or 7 bites of chicken scattered on my food and the chicken didn't have a very good flavor, but the rest of the dish was delicious, just not that great of chicken and not enough. If they had a blackened chicken breast sliced up on it, it would be on point! Great atmosphere and staff though!
A great place for something different i love the gumbo
Mmmmm! Such amazing food and service!
Yummy food, great atmosphere and fantastic service!
This is one of the best kept secret places in Mooresville, Indiana. The menu has items from Frog legs, Gator, Oysters, Filet mignon and several things in between. Atmosphere is entertaining and yet you can have your private conversation. We've been going there for at least 12 years and recommend it highly!
Great atmosphere and food!
Really good Cajun food. First time here since it expanded. Great atmosphere I feel like I'm on vacation when I'm in here. Ordered blackened catfish, jumbalya and shrimp and chicken creole. Warm pecan pie for dessert. Abita Mardi Gras Bock and Mardi Gras Mambo for drinks. A gem of a place and a total original just south west of Indy. Highly recommend.
Loved that they wrapped the napkins with a strong of beads. The food was tasty and the staff was very attentive.
I ordered the Jambalaya here and loved it! Great, New Orleans ambiance. It's in a historic building with lots of fun decor. Staff are friendly, service on the slower side but worth the wait!
Love the atmosphere staff was amazing, love the Gator on a stick, the Gumbo didn't have the kick like I'm used to, the Jambalaya was different and the Red Beans and Rice was pretty good. I've had straight up Cajun food before and their take on it wasn't too bad if ever around there again would definitely stop in and eat and I think I try the catfish next time but they had great drink selections.
Amazing, authentic food! Everything we tried tasted great. Not 100% sure if we just got the wrong plates, but got gumbo similar to an etoufee, and an etoufee similar to a gumbo. Otherwise fantastic meal.
We had Chase V. today. We got in right at open, so it wasn't too busy. Chase was very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Food is great, comes out hot and fresh. GET DESSERT!!!! Murder by Chocolate can probably satisfy 4 people. This place is a little on the pricier side, though there are some budget friendly options, but you get a high quality experience and food.
Fun place with great food and service.
Have been to Zydeco's three time. Every time dinner was excellent. We always order the BBQ shrimp as an appetizer.
Excellent food, great service, highly recommend, well worth the time to stop by. The staff was awesome, throughly enjoyed our time there. Will definitely be back next time we are in town
I love the atmosphere at this place! Everyone is so happy and welcoming. The service can vary depending who your server and how busy they are. All in all out of the times I have gone things have went well. Food is amazing. I recommend the Hurricanes and pasta Jolie (which is amazing ) try the 'swamp sauce' on your bread you won't be disappointed!!
Cajun-Creole at its best in this region.
Great food and atmosphere as always!!
This is always a go to place for us. Great service and fantastic food
Disappointed. Drove 2 1/2 hours & no homemade boudin. Just not worth the drive. The atmosphere was great and our server was great. Those are what the stars are for.
Great food and atmosphere!
Great food love the tea and bread first time going will be back
Great service. We were looking for something different and found it in Mooresville, Indiana.
Phenomenal food, great service. Live music from the bar. I had the Barrons Street Shrimp. Absolutely phenomenal and the pecan pie is the lightest I have ever had.
Awesome food! Bbqs shrimp is amazing....make sure you get extra bread to sop up the sauce!
The food was ok. I felt like it was overpriced for the portion and quality of what we were served. Our waiter left a lot to be desired. He may have been having a bad day, but he was rude to the table next to us as well as to some of the people in our group. Would I go back? No I wouldn't.
Zydeco's is a gem living in a sea of imposters (Yat's... it's just pretending to be Cajun but it's really just confused). Zydeco's is everything you could want to warm your little Cajun-craving heart, fill your hungry belly, and tingle your tastebuds. After living in the heart of Acadiana (Lafayette, Louisiana), then moving to Indy, I never thought I'd see good Cajun food unless I drove back to the Gulf Coast. Boy was I surprised to find this gem in Mooresville. From the authentic Louisiana decor to the housemade tasso that graces many of their best dishes, this is THE PLACE you don't want to miss. You'll be sent home knowing you just ate the best Cajun food north of the Mason Dixon and beads around your neck to boot.
Waitress was very friendly. Ettoufee was really flavorful. Jumbalaya was tasty. The blackened cat fish was not as flavorful as I had hoped. Presentation of the food was good. It was pretty bland. Nice cozy environment! I will try them again!
Really cool joint. Always nice to eat on main Street instead of a strip mall! Comfy cozy and fun. Staff was polite and attentive and the menu was small and perfect. The Black Cat was delicious.
Worth the drive and wait. Had; at the suggestion of a couple local ladies, and the bartender. A shrimp and potato dish in a spicy red chilli sauce the was rich and had the right heat. Disappointed with the small/amount of shrimp. For the price; a larger shrimp would be in line. I'll definitely be back for the jambalaya or all of it.
Great food. Great atmosphere.
Fun, funky....in the best way possible, and the staff is always friendly. This is a hidden gem! Get the garlic soup!!!! Definitely with the trip from Indy.
We went here with very high expectations based on the reviews from coworkers that are local to the area. However it was an extreme disappointment. Way too much money for the portion sizes. Also I had the jambalaya and it was very dry. Being a New Orleans style they should get a better recipe. I will give them the fact that they flavors were wonderful. Overall I'd give it another try next time I'm in town, but I'd get something else on the menu.
Well, the cashier was very rude when I asked if she had bud and bud lite. She told me to go to ralph and Ava's they might sale my mind of beer.
Better than expected Cajun food! Their jamblya is amazing! Service was good, provided by an actual Cajun waitress
The jambalaya and garlic soup are absolutely out of this world! The staff are absolute sweethearts as well! Will return 10/10!!
Food was very good, waiter was great. Would recommend
Higher end than I expected. Had great food and a good New Orleans atmosphere, plus the Abita amber.
One of the best hidden secrets around. Great food and a full bar.
Great atmosphere, great service, great food!
Awesome food and Debbie and Carter are the best thanks Zydeco
Always amazing food and people
Finally was able to make to Zydeco's, have wanted to go here for years, ever since I saw it on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! It didn't disappoint, atmosphere was great, food was even better. Outstanding service, and the drinks were excellent as well. We even got to sit next to the Guy Ate Here logo! On another note, since we live in Indiana, the only Cajun food I have had prior to this was what I learned to cook from watching so much Food Network. So I was quite excited to see how mine compared, and I am happy to say their's tasted almost just like what I learned to make! Can't wait to go again and try another dish!
Good staff however the food was very disappointing
Only went once so cant judge too harshly. Great interior and very New Orleans feeling with festive decor. Full bar with custom drinks, but kinda pricey. Food was very expensive for the portions. I got the dinner red beans and rice (16.99) which is beans, white rice, chicken and sausage. Had no chicken in mine and maybe 5 very small round pieces of sausage. The worst part of the meal besides price was how bland the food was. No seasoning or spice whatsoever. Tasted like hospital jambalaya if there was such a thing. Wont be going again, but if you like shrimp, crawfish, and/or crab those dishes were better from what my friends said. They have a softshell crab that supposedly was very good and you can actually eat the shell because of the way its cooked. Over all 2/10 for me.
