All you can eat walleye was good. Okra was good. BBQ sauce was good. Beer was good. Wait time was very long. Did not enjoy the whiskey glaze at all. The brisket and sausage were not good. I would even say bad. The chefs potato was dry. We won't be back but hey it's BBQ, to each their own.

Stopped on our way through the area, walleye was good, tenderloin was not, could not eat it, thin and hard. We were over charged for our drinks. Would not stop here again. Very old and dirty.

We had Father's Day for Jim Syra at Whiskey River BBQ today a great place all you can eat fish that was really good my brother's just ate two or three Plates Full I'll definitely get that next time waitress she was great she was running her ass off everywhere Subway under $50 tip today it turned out to be a great day I'll send Joshua pay for the trip my brother's got to see Dad Dad got to see us grandkids got to see each other and everyone great food at a great time

I ordered the all you can eat while fish with dinner fries on Monday night. The fish was over cooked as well as the fries. The fish was so thin that you couldn’t even taste the fish. It was super thin that I couldn’t even see any fish! The dinner fries were over cooked too. But the green beans were good. Most of the people in our group felt the fish was over cooked too. I also heard from 2 people that the pizza wasn’t that good as well.

Ribs did not even taste like meat! "Their BBQ sauce" is sweet baby Ray's. The brisket was so dry it pulled the moisture from my mouth! I would not let my worst enemy eat this 3 week old meat!

I've came by here many times wondering if Whiskey River was open or closed. Let me guarantee you they are definitely open and according to Stephanie, our waitress, an employee of 15 years, it's open all but three days a year. Their chef has also been here over 20 years. I had the endless walleye with sides of steak fries and green beans. Stephanie recommend the Texas ketchup. I am so glad she did bc it went perfectly with the walleye and my appetizer of fried pickles! I also tried the twice baked potatoes.. fabulous! This is a BBQ place so for all you out there who love BBQ this is a place for you. Whiskey River is great food and good times. Come try it for yourself!

We order the all-you-can-eat walleye. Mmm good. Waitress is helpful. Drink refills are slow. We will be back when we desire the walleye meal. We have returned Sunday, June 23, 5pm. Ordered All-you-can-eat Walleye diner with 2 sides. Carrie was our waitress. Once we were settled in our booth she came to take our order. Walleye was tasty. We were served plenty of fish in a timely manner. Note: when you use a charge card they charge 4% extra.

Stopped at 1:15 , got a 1/2 slab, 6 wings , they were out of potato salad. Got home the ribs look more like beef jerky, very dry, no flavor at all. Think they had ribs left from last week. I got stuck with them. Don't order carry out!!!The ribs were huge disappointment!! Couldnt eat them they were soo dry.

Speaking for the restaurant side. The pulled chicken o got was so dry I wasn't even going to attempt to it. The pulled pork was cold. The bread they give you for the sandwiches are a single piece of Texas toast cut in half. For another piece it's 1$. The 2 BBQ sauce choices are horrible. I could ramble on about other miniscule things but I believe I have written enough.

The food was pretty good and the prices were pretty fair. The service was a little slow considering that there was barely any customers in the place while we were there. The waitress had our table of 3, a table of 2 and 1 customer at the bar. The waitress was very quick to greet us, take our order and get our drinks and food to us. The wait for the food to cook was a little longer than we anticipated.

The best BBQ Brisket and Ribs in Indiana. My wife is through and through Texas girl. Two things she says Yankees cannot make correctly are country fried steak and brisket. Well she was right. The owner was trained in Fort Worth area and is very friendly. The restaurant has both a bar area and a separate family dining area with its own entrance. They have no problem customizing orders to suit you and are very friendly. The building may not look like much, but it is kept clean and has allot of space. The only reason I didn't leave 5 stars was because the AC went out when were in there. I know its a small gripe, but atmosphere is part of what you pay for at a restaurant and no discount was offered due to the lack of comfort. I know this is not a big deal for allot of people but I just cannot give 5 stars... but it is darn close.

The service was wonderful. We were taken care of quickly and our food came out fast. There are three choices for barbecue sauces and we mixed all of them together. The shredded pork in the Moo Oink dish was moist and tasty. The beef brisket was a little dry but still enjoyed it. The French union sooo which was a side was full of flavor. They have generous portions of food. Its definitely not the best I've ever had, but wasn't bad for a quick bite. There are signs on the doors and when you walk in stating there is a 4% up charge for using a credit card, so don't be surprised. The decor is dated and the place seemed to have a lot of locals dining there.

Great place for fried walleye and appetizers. And, a great place to have a cold beer after a long day at work or working around the house. The walleye was all you can eat and I shouldn't have gone back for more. They do not cheat you on the portions and it was more than I should've eaten. Left there plenty full, and ready for bed. Next time I'm trying the prime rib.

Worse place to ever eat at or even drink. All local drunks & druggies hangout here. Food is NOT properly cooked, stored or sanitized. I will never recommend this place to anyone I care about. The owners/managers are good for nothing. Bartenders drink on the job which is against the law as well, they over serve without cutting people off (so please be aware drunks leave here daily with your family on the roads). Too bad I can't rate this as a -5 stars!!!

For starters, the waitress needs to pick up her feet and not shuffle. Small salad that had a big brown chunk in it. The pulled chicken and pork was tasteless and very dry. The sausage had a weird taste to it. The brisket was the only high point. The bbq sauce tastes like Sweet Baby Rays, which I like. It’s self serve if you want a drink refill to. Not recommending this place.

Not great. We saw the sign for BBQ on our way home and it sounded good... And the sign said it won some award. it is around 5pm on a Tuesday and the parking lot is empty. But we're hungry. Walking in we realize it's a bar... I've had plenty of good food in bars, so still willing to give it a try. It was just... Blah. The Whiskey River BBQ sauce was incredibly sweet... The other two sauces were better, though I am pretty sure one was a Kraft brand. The waitress was kind and attentive without being annoying.

If I was grading this place as a restaurant it would be lower and if I was grading it as a bar slightly higher but they present themselves as both so they fall some where in the middle. Had the sampler and the sausage was better than the brisket was better than the pork was better than the chicken. The slaw was pretty good and the portions were good for the price. I would like to go back to try the ribs but probably not as a family.

Tucked away off route 37 South behind a gas station, Whiskey River BBQ is a no nonsense, no frill restaurant/bar constructed of wood walls, floors and an ambiance that says they've been there forever, (actually 25 years.) Generous portions of some of the best smoked brisket and pork this Central Ohioan has ever had... you gotta check it out!

We were the only diners on a Friday afternoon. Had to ring a bell to get anyone to greet us. Beer was served without a glass. Mozzarella sticks had thick breading (frozen, no doubt) and were way over cooked. BBQ was mediocre at best. Waitress was very nice, but ate her lunch while we ate ours.

Completely unpretentious place..waitresses are great, warm, friendly, and efficient. Food is excellent and plentiful. We had the "all you can eat walleye lunch," and spiced Grouper. The sides of steak fries, chef potato (think twice baked potato), cole slaw, and beans were all memorable. This will be our new "come to place" for great down home food, easy going atmosphere, and reasonable prices. It's not too far to drive from Bloomington. Great place to stop after picking someone up at the airport on the way to Bloomington. Enjoy!

Very nice waitress. Excellent food. Had the pulled pork. Sandwich wasn't huge but the pork was very good. Requested fries done crispy and they obliged. Only negative is that they don't have a hot BBQ sauce (the waitress said the owner has been developing one), but the ones they have are good and made in-house; one a smokey whiskey sauce and the other a standard sweet sauce.

My husband and I went here with our four small children. The waitress seemed happy to serve us. She was very kind and knew the menu well. We ordered 3 kids meals for the the kids that would be eating (the youngest is still eating milk) and we both got the all you can eat walleye. The kids meals had so much food they could have split one meal. The pulled pork was outstanding!! The walleye was amazing. We also got Cole slaw, steak fries, baked potatoes and onion rings. The baked potatoes weren't great but literally everything else was so good! We've lived in Waverly for a couple years now and we're wondering now why we've never gone here before. It was so so good! Service was excellent too! We'll definitely be back.

I have tried this restaurant on two (2) separate occasions. Their food is average at best. Beef Brisket is overcooked & dry. Their pulled chicken is bland and dry. And worst of all, the service is very slow. I do NOT recommend this restaurant if you want superior BBQ.
