You have all the reviews of real people like you who used the products and services of Tian Fu Asian Bistro (Restaurant) in Indiana area.
At the present the firm gets a rating of 4.2 stars out of 5 and that rating was based on 308 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is good, and it's based on a large number of feddbacks, so we can be pretty sure that the rating is very accurate. If many people have bothered to give their score when they are happy, it works.
You know that we don't usually bother to give evaluations when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Chinese restaurant.
Sushi is great. Many varieties. I don't think the fish had much taste. The all-you-can-eat part was good. I just don't like the "no waste" policy. If you don't eat what you order, you pay $1 for each piece you leave. Stuff yourself even if you're full or pay extra. No thanks. It was good but I probably won't be back, to that side anyway
Tian Fu is hands down one of the best sushi places in town and you can tell others’ feel the same way. It is always packed for lunch and dinner. The food is great, the staff bring authenticity of the Asian fusion experience. The menu is extensive, but we don’t have to look very long to find our favorites. I’ve read a couple of 1 star reviews for laughs and think they are crazy, one even comparing the price of grocery store sushi to quality restaurant sushi (as if!!). While no restaurant is perfect for everyone, I’ve personally found Tian Fu to be a great place to frequently visit with their friendly staff and great sushi.
This is an unpretentious but still very pleasantly decorated place that definitely deserves more attention. Tian Fu has a huge range of food and every single thing I've tried here has been been delicious. Really fantastic sushi too. They have how added an All You Can Eat Sushi area and it is now one of my favorite sushi places in the whole city. It's so fresh and tasty.
Prices were phenomenal and the food was great. I will be returning very soon. I was so very impressed. I had seaweed salad and a shrimp tempura roll. OUTSTANDING!!!!
Great Food, Nice Atmosphere, Reasonably Priced
Delicious and fairly priced. Best sushi I've ever had.
I enjoyed the sushi.
The best Chinese food
Lunch was good, I feel like more authentic than most in the area. Plenty of veggies in my Kung Pao chicken, lunch was well priced and included soup and egg roll and crab ragoon. Took longer than fast food if you are trying to fit it in at lunch break, but not slow or anything.
Great lunch specials. Your choice of soup, crab Rangoon, spring roll and entree for about $6.50.
Plain looking on the outside, but interesting decor on the inside. Not a traditional Asian menu and has tons of choices you to choose from. I had the Spicy Crispy Chicken, which is exactly as the menu says: a Chinese buffalo chicken. Small crispy bites of chicken with a hint of buffalo sauce, served with soup, fried rice, crab rangoon and an egg roll. Plenty of food for lunch and at a good price.
OMG!! Great sushi had all you can eat perfect price perfect service. Great job!!
Nice place, quiet and somewhat dark. Good food, reasonable price. Lots of choices.
Tian Fu is a great place. The owner is always very welcoming and the food is very good. I've been coming here for years with no complaints. I recently tried the All You Can Eat Sushi which was also great! Here's the menu for anyone's reference. The tempura cheesecake was a surprising flavor palette but also a good share.
It was a great experience
We ordered take-out from here, since it was one of the better- reviewed restaurants with Chinese food in the neighborhood. Now I'm thinking that most of the positive reviews must be for their Japanese items and sushi offerings, since the Chinese food we got was pretty disappointing. Our Szechuan chicken was designated as one of their spicy options (as demonstrated by the hot pepper next to it on the menu). We like very spicy food, so I even left a note to make that dish extra spicy. The actual heat level of what we got was between mild and medium, and the flavor wasn't typical of Szechuan chicken. The sauce was sweet and almost ketchupy, with very little garlic or pepper flavor. I ordered spring rolls, assuming they'd be fresh spring rolls, but the ones we got were deep fried. Maybe that's how these guys serve theirs, but I've never ordered spring rolls from a restaurant that served them fried without noting that on the menu. I'm wondering if they maybe just gave us egg rolls by mistake, since the wrappers seemed pretty thick, and they were sent w/ sweet and sour sauce (which I've never received w/ spring rolls). Also, the lid on my soup container wasn't on all the way, so almost a quarter of it spilled out into the bag before it arrived. Before noticing the spillage, I had tried to lift the inner paper bag (with the food containers) out of the outer plastic bag, and the bottom of the paper bag totally collapsed. The items inside scattered all over my counter. Luckily, the soup stayed upright, so no additional soup spilled out beyond what had happened en route, and the lids on the other items were tight enough to prevent a horrible mess. I did have to clean a lot of soup broth off my counter and floor, though. Not a super pleasant way to start an evening meal. I understand that mistakes happen, and sometimes places get busy or are a little off their game, but this was a lot of disappointment for one meal. I try to give places a chance to redeem themselves, but I'm not sure if I feel up to trying this out again.
Great Chinese food, everything is very fresh with a wide array of regional dishes to choose from. My favorite for family style dinners.
Most of the food was good. AYCE is a great deal if ya get at least 3 rolls and an appetizer or salad. Service is a little slow and kind of awkward and some food was not as fresh this time. My husband started feeling sick after we ate there but not 100% sure it was related. He did have a few of the raw rolls that I did not eat. We normally get the Chinese dishes and those are always good. This time we opted for ayce sushi menu which was limited if you like the specialty rolls. Only a few adventurous choices, but if ya like the basic rolls or sushi then it is a great deal. None of my favorites are on the AYCE menu. We would still go back though as there are lots of choices all in all as their dinner menu is very extensive and hard to get items compared to your average asian restaurant.
One of the best Chinese food restaurants in town. Even for people from Toronto, this place was impressive. There are not of dishes to try and even have Japanese and Thai options that are as good as dedicated restaurants. This my own go to for Asian food (all Asian food!).
Loved the sping rolls
Love the sushi and the strawberry mochi. The service could be better
Its Ok you have to literal fight to get food from the Korean or Chinese Authentic Menu SMH but if you are American the regular menu is sweet and Americanized but Affordable.
Came in here on a sushi whim and it’s pretty delicious. The chefs and waitresses are very nice and quick on the orders, sushi was awesome and they have a few things here I haven’t seen elsewhere. Definitely worth a stop in if you’re craving sushi like I was!
Great food reasonably priced
Good food. Ok service
Tian Fu is a nice Asian restaurant sitting in a strip mall along 86 the street. They offer an array of choices including my favorite, Mongolian beef. They even have great sushi. The quality of the food is excellent yet the price is very reasonable.
My favorite Chinese restaurant in Indy. I’m a big fan of the cumin lamb.
The California roll was yummy and cheap!! The entrees are enough to share. Orange Chicken and Beef with Broccoli is pictured. Both came with white rice.
Yum! Delicious garlic eggplant, spicy green beans, black dragon roll. Very nice atmosphere.
The Chicken Pad Thai is amazing and a great price but the real headliner is the "All You Can Eat Sushi". Excellent options available and the service is great.
The food was great! I went in not knowing what to expect. My girls 8 and 6 ate so well I was surprised. The only bad thing was that the service was a little slow, took them a while to take our order and to fill our drinks. However they were very nice.
One of the top three Chinese restaurants in Indy. It's not your standard strip mall Chinese. Their sushi is not bad either (I know, why does a Chinese restaurant have sushi?!...I don't know) try the pocket tofu, or the beef in Szechuan broth...it will melt your face.
This is our GO TO place for all things Asian. Chinese, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Japanese, you name it they have it. I love to take our large family and sit around the large round tables and share platters on the Lazy Susan.
Great food, service, and atmosphere
Food was delicious and so was the service. She kept an eye out for me and had my water refilled in a timely manner. When I walked out without my to go box, she came out and delivered it to me
Some of the rolls are good but the sushi comes with a big chunk of rice to fill you up. If you want the money worth for the all you can eat option, avoid sushi and go for the rolls. The price wasnt too bad but slightly more expensive than better quality Japanese food restaurant in town.
Best Chinese food in the city! No comparison! And they actually have very good sushi too! Love this place
Very good food. Wide variety of options. Served fresh and hot if ordering cooked food.
So good!
Amazing food! Great and fast service! So many options for everyone.
Go with the Chinese menu options if you're feeling adventurous. My favorite is ant climbing tree, sichuan boiled fish and then pork liver with pickled peppers. One of the best chinese food in town I think. The also have the standard Americanized menu options if you're not feeling adventurous.
Love the pad Thai
I have gone to this establishment about 4 times. All times getting carry out . I decided to eat in at the all you can eat sushi bar, and during the time of sitting waiting for my food a roach emerged from the bar onto my plate. I just thought all those visiting should know this is going on . The management team seemed unfazed and simply offered me a new table .
Good fresh food!!! Great price.
Real Chinese and Japanese food. Very good. Always enjoy the experience.
Best pickle fish soup. Sounds strange but amazing
Best sushi in Indianapolis. Orange chicken is amazing...my 9 year old loves it!!! Friendly staff. Our favorite go-to sushi Asian fusion restaurant!!!!
I adore this place. The miso soup is the best I've ever had. The sushi is excellent. Even the hot tea is just right. The bento/lunch boxes are a great value. The staff is quietly polite and very quick. The food in general is wonderful. And, being photosensitive, I enjoy the dim interior lighting. I cannot think of a way to make this restaurant better than it is. Try this place.
Love this place, they have fanatic food. The atmosphere is very nice. Great date place. This is my Saturday lunch tradition now. Lol
Our new go to place! The food was really good and so were the prices. Portions were large. We had enough leftovers for both of us to have another meal. We ordered 2 chicken egg rolls. They were a nice size, tasted really fresh and they cut them on a bias which was nice. I order chicken and broccoli (came with steamed rice). He order egg plant with pork (came with steamed rice). He also order chicken skewers (I do not remember what they were called). We left full and happy!
Honestly one the best Asian restaurant in Indy hands down everything made they way it should with good quality ingredients and a decent price to tag along
Excellent, reasonably authentic Sichuan dishes.
Huge varied menu, including Thai, Chinese, and Japanese cuisine entrees. Sushi a popular choice here.
Pretty authentic Chinese food. Reasonable price with quality food. Will definitely come back.
Really good food. Love the fact that you can get Thai, Japanese, or Chinese food!! And my husband loves the sushi.
Fantastic Asian cuisine with great decor. The lunchtime prices and selection are very reasonable while the dinner prices are on par with other establishments of the same type. The sushi selection is varied and very tasty. I would definitely recommend trying them out.
We have been wanting to try the all you can eat sushi joint for awhile. Everything was so yummy! Excellent hot and sour soup, gyoza, sushi, and
Terrible...We have been there 2 times and both times, they tried to scam us. Last night, we went there for my husband's birthday and it will be our last trip. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. We both ordered All you can eat sushi, and the sushi was good, but it was alot more rice than usual and each roll was much smaller than usual... I have had better sushi from Kroger for cheaper. Well, the reson for this, we found out when we got our bill is because whatever sushi you have left on your plate at the end, they charge you $1.00 apiece for it (no matter if you take it home or not) Keep in mind, we did not order 1 single refill and paid $50 for the first orders. They did not make us aware of this before, just started counting our sushi that we COULD NOT EAT because they were so full of rice and they cut them into extra small pieces to be able to charge more, as they are $1 apiece! What a scam!!! When we asked why we were being charged $85 now instead of $65, they went on to ask,"Do you get a take out box at a buffet?"... Very rude. The first time we went, I ordered a bottle of house wine, and when I got my bill I had been charged for the most expensive bottle of wine. She acted like they were out of the one I asked for, but she never even asked if that was okay. I now know, theu are scamming EVERYONE... The guy making the sushi told us this happens alot. We ended up tipping the $15 they were charging us for the left over sushi, because we wanted them to know it is not about the money, IT IS THE PRINCIPLE. You do scam people! Ruined our birthday dinner. DO NOT GO BACK!
The food here was good and the staff was courteous. They have several vegetarian menu options in a rather large menu - the lo mein was very tasty and the portion sizes were large. The sushi looked good, I would recommend getting one of the specialty rolls. One of the people at our table was served the wrong food, so be sure to clarify your order if you are worried about mix-ups. Their beer menu wasn't very large. They did serve orange slices after the meal though, which was a fun and unexpected treat.
Food is good, but don't get delivery. They can't seem to figure out, no matter how many time you ask, to not bag cold sushi with hot food.
Very kind staff. The atmosphere and food was wonderful and very agreeable price wise. Had a great time with friends!
I've been here several times. Is really quite good, I'd offer a recommendation if I remember what I ate there, but definitely the real deal as far as authenticity. Cannot comment on the sushi, but the entrees were excellent.
Their sushi is excellent. Love this place...
Great chinese food.
Traditional Chinese food with good price
great menu
The best soup dumpling I have ever had
Must try the five spice shrimp and the salt and pepper tofu. five spice does have a kick.
Probably one of the cleanest Chinese Japanese restaurants that I have been to. Food seemed fresh and was well made. The only thing I had was the spicy tuna roll but others in the group order hot meals and they looked good. Will definitely be going back in the near future.
Loved spicy fish soup! Eggplant was little sweet to me. If you like authentic Chinese food(not American Chinese food), you will find lots of things that you would enjoy. The food here reminded me of Szechuan garden restaurant which is closed now but it had great authentic Chinese food. So glad to find an authentic Chinese place! The server was very kind and professional! Overall, very pleasant experience!
Authentic chinese HuaiYang style cuisine. Real surprised and delighted finding this in Indianapolis.
Fantastic place to eat very clean. Great food
JUST KEEP DOING THE SAME.
Good food. Fast and friendly.
Love their food
Good food good price long wait for the food to come out
The sushi is okay, but not spectacular. The eggrolls were the driest, most uninteresting eggrolls I have ever had. We had the all-you-can-eat sushi, but, after being served our first round, we had to wait another 15 minutes before we could flag down the manager (because our server had vanished) in order to put in another round. Tempura was about average, although the addition of tempura red bell pepper in the mix was a pleasant surprise.
Food was fast food, strip mall quality and the service was definitely lacking.
Have been getting sushi here once a month for the past year and finally reached the point that I am never going back. All you can eat lunch is now $23 - they upped the price in the last few weeks from $19. They used to have decent sushi portions on nigiri and within rolls - but now overload everything with rice. They also have started to enforce uneaten roll / rice policy saying that you have to eat all but 3 portions of rice / roll and count the stuff you leave uneaten and let you know your tally while you eat. "You didnt eat 2 rice portions only have one left." I have never experienced this at a sushi restaurant with all you can eat - and never have here in the past either. Not worth the quality and value at this point - I would recommend staying away and going to Ocean World down the street for decent (non-all you can eat) sushi at a better price.
Mediocre at best. Service not very good.
Was so pleasant in the atmosphere and the food was amazing. Can't wait to go back
Great Food and Service
Great place, it was highly recommended to us and we keep coming back. Great food, very friendly staff, lots of menu choices, we try something new every time we come, very chill and relaxing. Definitely try the mango chicken
I went to the All You Can Eat Sushi section next door. Food and service were very good. Cost for 1 person all you can eat sushi was 20 bucks after taxes. Overall a good experience and I plan on going again soon.
Such friendly staff and the food is made to order. We always receive a generous portion.
if you want authentic Chinese food, this is! We went there as a family of 5. Kids love the food. Color and taste are excellent. it is certainly better than buffet. Kids want to come back although it is little far from where we live.
The pad thai was supposed to be a spicy meal, I asked for it to be extra spicy as I like spicy foods. My wife who doesn't do spicy at all didn't think it was spicy. The crab rangoon was the worst tasting rangoon we had ever had. Didn't taste like it even had cream cheese in it or crab (real or imitation). We wont be back.
Top notch, asked the waitress for recommendation, was not disappointed. Food was well prepared and delicious. Will eat hear often
Garp.
Excellent Mongolian beef. Even has some more traditional hot pots on the menu. Always a good sign to see other Asians eating there as well. Will definitely be going back.
Served my son over cooked shrimp that did not taste fresh then did not offer to take it off the bill or get him something else. Go elsewhere for good Asian food. Service AND food here is lacking.
Fantastic sushi, great prices. They opened a sushi bar next door featuring all you can eat sushi.
The best sushi (with the added bonus of an all you can eat option) and their other dishes vary from Chinese, Thai, and Japanese food each one of them cooked to perfection. I love the atmosphere of this place and feel I always get great service!~
Delicious sushi, good vegan and vegetarian options! They pay attention to dietary requests. Servers are very friendly and polite too!
Server friendly and food arrived quickly. Had golden sushi rolls and steamed dumplings great.
A little hidden gem my husband and I discovered tonight... Tian Fu at 86th and Michigan road now has an all you can eat appetizers and sushi side to their restaurant! Full disclosure, we’ve been hardcore dieting since January... so we went a little crazy (right back on the wagon tomorrow
Excellent Chinese food, have been here 3 times and loved the veggie dishes, so many choices!!
The service was fast and attentive, but the flavor of our food was just so-so.
Nice place and very clean. I went here today for the first time and I'm giving it a 4 based on potential. The lunch specials come with a lot of food, which is nice. Hot and sour soup was really good. However, the chicken was way over cooked and pretty dry. The flavor was there, which makes me curious about other dishes - its just the dryness of the chicken was very off putting. I will say that the chicken appeared to be all white meat, which was surprising. I'll be back.
I grew up in Japan and this was definitely worth the price though my husband and I just got the all you can eat sushi. We saw the menus for regular lunch and dinner and they were incredibly diverse. A quiet place, the waitstaff is professional, courteous, and friendly. The bathrooms are clean and the sushi chefs very talented. We will definitely be returning!
Way too much to eat... great sushi and others
Great meal, very reasonable price. For less than $9, I got a lunch entree, soup, rice, spring roll, and a huge crab Rangoon. All was delicious.
Enjoyed the sushi so much, when my mom was in town we went to lunch and had the bento box lunches. If you have never tried the bento box you need to, you get everything from sushi, appetizer and your main course. Will be going back for more.
Pretty good food with a large variety on the menu. I liked the Japanese lunch box I got better than the spicy crunchy chicken but good local eats for a reasonable price.
It was good, but no desserts that appealed to me
This place is a great value for lunch. You get a ton of food for really cheap. And it doesn't take long at all.
I go fairly often because its close and the prices are good. The food has always been good, its not the best Asian food you'll ever have but its good. I would recommend carry out if you eat here. The wait staff is really rude so I stopped dining in. Also, they publicize a happy hour special and then don't give you the discount.
Difficult to rate a place like this. Their menu is like 20 pages long spanning several Asian cuisines. I will say that the gai pad grapow is my go to thai dish and I enjoyed their take on it.
not bad
Pretty decent variety of regional Asian foods. The curry is sweet and most American type "Chinese" are good. Ordered here 5 times with good results. However, the last time we ordered General Tso for one and sweet/sour chicken for one and found the sauces were identical. The only difference was the Tso had cayenne peppers added and the sweet/sour had orange slices added. Very tricky. But, overall, worth 3 stars.
NOT RECOMMENDED!!!! Crab rangoon had very little to no filling (crab meat, cream cheese) and mostly an empty shell. Sweet & sour chicken sauce was so soupy & bland, it was more like colored wonton soup. It is suppose to be slight thick and have a sweet smell. I bet if the sauce was leftover, it would have lumps in it, which means they used starch. Good quality sauce should be syrupy even after refrigeration. The white rice had a slight funny odor & slight slimy texture, which means this is bad rice. Also, the outside of the rice was warm while the inside was cold. The hot & sour soup is suppose to be a little spicy & sour, however, this soup had no taste and was very salty.
Great Sushi!!
Sushi is very good and all you eat is great
Excellent food and service at a very reasonable price. Great lunch spot.
Not impressed with food or service. I used the lady’s restroom and the soap dispenser was broken replaced by another broken soap bottle. The bathroom was freezing cold (no heat). I believe it’s mandatory that restaurant employees wash their hands however how can they if there isn’t any soap? Sorry I won’t be back and I hope I don’t get sick as a result of our lunch we had today. I did call the manager after we left to notify him of it and he assured me that it would be fixed tomorrow YUCK
I came to this restaurant for third time and I'm still loving it very much! Best Chinese food I've ever had!!!
I ordered the All You Can Eat Sushi with my family and had a great time. The waiter refilled our drinks like a champion and the food was excellent. The restaurant was very clean, music was at an appropriate level, and the chairs are comfortable. I highly recommend Tian Fu for some great sushi!
The food is not bad here. The service can be slow. This place is great if you want lots of quantity. The portions tend to be huge. Chinese get special chinese menu too if you are chinese
First time and also my last time. Beef and broccoli was disgusting, had a funny taste. Manager said he tasted it and that it was fine, so I left it for him to eat it. Also ordered the vegetable fried rice. I’ve never had mushy fried rice before.
Nice family-run restaurant.
The Tom Yum soup is AMAZING! On the advice of another review, I got the Mongolian Three and it was delicious! I will definitely be back just based on these two items!
I really enjoy the variety and excellent quality of the food.
Very good!
Awesome, great tasting, good price.
Awesome Chinese food. Ask for the Chinese menu to get authentic food. Hard to find places like this in town
I was in town on business and love good Chinese food. The Miso soup was at best average and the chicken egg rolls were dry but full of somewhat flavorless chicken. However, they SO made up for it on the entree! I am a huge fan of Mongolian beef and chicken. I had the Mongolian 3 which was a combo Mongolian beef, chicken, and shrimp which is a new twist for me. It just may be the best Mongolian dish I have ever had and more than made up for the bland attempt at appetizers.
I love their lunch specials. We order delivery at my office every couple of weeks and have never had any issues with orders being wrong and they're always quick. Very reasonably priced and quality food too.
Best Asian in Indy.
