North End BBQ is a bit of a hidden gem. Their meats are always fall-apart tender. They provide 4 choices of house made barbecue sauce. KC, Texas, classic and Carolina. I have tried them all and every one is great. Prices are reasonable for the meals. Their bartenders alway mix the drinks the way I like and service has been fantastic every time I've been in. The only weakness is that I'm not a fan of their slaw or beans. But try them yourself. You might love them too.

I have been there twice tonight was the worst when a party of 10 people came to celebrate a b day it was embarrassing when I told the waitress that our chicken was raw and she tried to explain and she got one of the cook no hat and all kinds of facial hair that’s disgusting after I asked for my tab she gave me the worst look and the un clean cook come back out with his phone lighting in to the chicken that it was raw that’s wrong you don’t need a new server she’s good all she needs to be retrained and the cook needs a nice facial clean up

Good food and atmosphere...my wife and I really enjoy circle city bbq....and this is the only other place we've tried so far that is close to them as far as taste. A little more expensive, but everything is made in house and it shows. They also have more fun stuff not just straight bbq... I'll leave it at...adult milkshake!

I'm not a huge fan of BBQ but, gotta say, I AM A GINORMOUS fan of their cornbread (served with Maple Butter--come on!) and their collard greens. Have been there a half dozen times and food has always been hot, fresh, and tasty!

Slow service, high prices, and small portion size are typical of a poorly run trying to be hip BBQ joint. Avoid this place for 6 months or so until they shut the doors forever. I would never go back nor recommend.

I'm not much for BBQ places, yet I can say the sampler platter that has pulled pork, ribs, brisket, and chicken are splendid enough you don't need to add the 4 unique sauces. Plus, the mac n cheese side is addicting with the topping. Making the dogs even better, the meat is without anti-biotics, hormones or GMO Feed! I'm sure there's more to explorer with other dishes, yet that will be another day. The facility is kept clean, even the bathroom, and the staff is wonderful. I'm not a beer drinker, but if I were there are many choices. Bonus: Target and Whole Foods is nearby or a Kroger across the street.

Chose North End to eat randomly. Was not unhappy with those choice. We sat at the bar. My friend and I enjoyed a Rhinegeist Bubbles on tap. We shared a bbq chicken sandwich in addition to macaroni (phenomenal) cornbread (just ok) and fries (she absolutely loved them, I thought they were just good). But overall, it was a chill Sunday night. I’d go back for the sides alone.

Love North End! New update: try the candy-flights of whiskey paired with candy. We had the dark chocolate flight- love, love, ... loved it! Food is tops. Bourbon and whiskey selection is best in Indy! Staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Harry at the bar is a real whiskey expert. Check out Harry’s whiskey 101 class that they host a few times per year. If you like a great salad, try the smoked turkey Cobb- simply wonderful. Adult Milkshake is unique indulgence and not to be missed. Your loss if you don’t go. You won’t be sorry.

The North End BBQ is definitely a place to come for BBQ. We started with an onion ring appetizer. Some of the best rings ever with just the right amount of coating making for a crunchy ring. The Cobb salad with smoked Turkey was very good. My daughter had the pan fried catfish sandwich and it was very good. I had the St. Louis style ribs which were the best I've ever had at a restaurant. Very tender, juicy, and just the right amount of smoke. I make ribs in my smoker a lot and these ribs were just as good as I can make, if not better. Sides of mac and cheese, Cole slaw, and black eyed peas were very good also. I will definitely plan on going here when I'm in Indianapolis.

We love the North End. A few things we especially like. There's a sandwich called "The Sandwich" that's just stellar. Brisket is always perfectly done, and they have a variety of sauces. My favorite is the Carolina style sauce. It's quite well done. My wife is a huge fan of the smoked turkey salad, and we both love their fresh pork rinds. Service has always been good. We're regulars.

Ordered this once for delivery and only thought it was okay. Enjoyable for sure but not the best on the north side. Just ate in and it was very very good. Got the half rack of Memphis ribs and they were excellent. Cornbread and Mac and cheese were also fantastic. What I really liked was the atmosphere. Felt much more upscale than an average BBQ joint. Service was pretty slow but our waiter was very polite and fun. Would definitely come back.

I'm a big fan of this Nora eatery which boasts one of the best whisky bars in the area. The patio is a nice place to spend an afternoon sipping bourbon... not that I've ever done that. Staff is always friendly, bartenders know of what they speak and the food is great. Don't miss the fries with bone marrow butter.

We ordered baby back ribs and St. Louis spareribs they were very hard and tough cutting them was like cutting a steak. Definitely no meat fall off the bones look like they are cooked in the oven not in the smoker. $62 left the restaurant still hungry we took the rest home to put in the crockpot to make them edible.

My first visit here. Diverse menu with items for those people who don't like BBQ (not sure who that is!) as well as wide variety of beers, wine, and cocktails. Ribs were tender & tasty, catfish sandwich flaky & well-seasoned. Service was a little sporadic, however.

I found this restaurant accidentally, loved the name, so I stopped in. I sat in an outside seating area that was enclosed with clear plastic walls to keep out bugs and weather, while still providing an outside seating experience. The food was not good. I kept adding barbecue sauce to my pulled pork sandwich, trying to get some flavor. I even added sauce to my watery baked beans---a lot of sauce---to no avail. They were just bad. I also ordered a specialty mixed drink which didn't seem to have any alcohol or flavor. As I've been to many barbecue restaurants and loved the food, I was very disappointed with this one.

This has quickly become one of my favorite BBQ places in Indy. They're sauces are great and the sides are fantastic. Don't forget the johnny cakes with pimento cheese and pickled green tomatoes are not to be skipped.

I had always wanted to try this place, and waited outside for them to open one rainy Saturday afternoon. I was the second person in the restaurant, and there was no one at the hostess stand. When the hostess did come and seat me, I waited for what seemed like an eternity for a server to come. Mind you, I was the second of two total tables in this restaurant. Finally, I got up from my seat and told the hostess I was leaving. All of the servers were congregated in the prep area talking. I called the manager after I left and let him know. He said they would like to make it right and send me a complimentary gift card so I would give them a second chance. I still haven’t received it. The most deplorable customer service I’ve ever experienced on the north side.

As a native Texan, I give this place five stars. It's got more of a stylish, modern rustic feel compared to a lot of BBQ spots in Indy that feel a bit thrown together. The menu is adventurous but not overwhelming so and the portions are suitable. It can be a bit drafty by the to-go door near the bar area, so keep that in mind during cold seasons, but other than that I have little to no complaints.

I doordashed the Pecan Parfait, which I was utterly excited about! I love pecan pie! I pull it out of the bag and I look at the container; it’s black. I am a little discouraged; but I sample it. It’s burnt; there is nothing worse than eating burnt sweetened condensed milk. It was so disgusting I pitched both of the ones order. If I could give this zero stars I would. I’ve never had season less bbq in my life until now. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with a side of baked beans and cornbread. The cornbread was so dry it was a necessity to have the butter on the bread. The baked beans were the worst baked beans I’ve ever had in my entire life. How are baked beans bitter? The only redeeming quality about this place was the seasonal cobbler which was apple pie.

So, I was reading the one star reviews, and I have no idea what happened to those people, but my food was AMAZING! My boyfriend and I ordered off of door dash, and I was impressed by the timely manner in which the food was prepared and delivered for it being a Friday evening. The portions were more than generous. I like to think of myself as a brisket connoisseur of sorts, and this hit the nail on the head. Perfect balance of meat and fat. I got baked beans and cornbread for my side. I'm pretty sure the cornbread is cooked in a cast iron skillet. It was an adorable, large, disc shape and had a nice crisp. It was sweet, but not overly sweetened. Perfect. The butter that came with it was delicious. It was melted, and I'm pretty sure that it was a honey butter. So good. I was actually not a fan of the beans, but I tasted them and appreciate the work that obviously went into them. They had a maple flavor to them, and were not BBQ sauce based like the generic beans I'm used to and expected. I was not feeling them, but I knew they were good, if that makes sense? What I'm trying to say is this food is quality stuff. Treat yourself. I sampled the mac and cheese and the mixed veggies from my boyfriend's meal and they were very good as well. Definitely see us getting more food in the near future.

The bartender at Late Harvest Kitchen recommended I try this place out. He was spot on for both the BBQ and the whiskey. Coming from Texas I wasn't sure about how their brisket would be but they nailed it. The LHK bartender also told us to ask about burnt ends. We were not disappointed.

My son & I stopped In for a late lunch/early dinner. We ordered a 1/2 rack of baby back ribs w/ a side of fries and mac & cheese. I'm vegetarian so I could not tell right off hand what was going on but my 12 yr old asked me to cut the ribs, they were so tough... The fries were smothered in a sauce w/ jalapenos, and the m&c had a topping that tasted not ok to the kid. We were basically served a re-heated rack of ribs and the wait staff did not notice the untouched fries & mac (so as to offer to exchange) and I was too tired to argue, but here is my review. Very disappointed, perhaps it was the time of day but basically we were served reheated food.

The food isnt all that. Salmon wasnt done in parts. The butter for the cornbread shouldnt be placed on top because it ruins the dry bread. Pulled pork is just that. Brisket isnt anything special. And the pattymelt isnt either... it doesnt even fit the bread. Mac n cheese... forgettable. Fries the same, they have to try and drowned them in sauces and junk to make you want them, however it all bad. Sauces were the only decent thing on the table along with the water and our company. Waitress was rude and sucked. She said shes been there 5 years. She needs a need job. Maybe change fields? We had reservations, we were looking for them. She gave us a dirty look when we told her we were looking for our party. We found them and sat down. We asked her questions about stuff on the menu. And she told us. She kinda got smart and "schooled" me about salmon and why they charge $22 btw not worth it. O'Charleys is better and that's not saying much! 2nd my husband got the marrow fries without jalapenos and he didnt like them. So he asked for regular and she said well you did order these with the butter and no jalapenos. And I chimed and and said but he doesnt like them so hed like regular and if it will cost we will pay. So then she decided to get defensive. Come on... you're in food service. Then checks she mixes them but. We fix it. We pay.... she brings them back tosses on the table says "see ya" and just walks off. Never go back. All honestly because of her. We would have tried a 2nd time to see if food was better or try different things.... but NOPE!! SEE YA!

Really enjoyed this place. Ordered a private selection whiskey flight and it was a very good sampling for a good price. The food was phenomenal. We had the salmon dip, split a full rack of ribs m, and had three sides. The bbq sauces are all great, I would recommend the mustard based sauce. We also had the adult milkshake. The service was as great as the food/whiskey.

Moist, tender and delicious barbecued meats abound at this great restaurant. We have tried the pork, brisket, turkey and ribs and you really cannot go wrong. Don't forget to add a house made Texas sausage link to your dinner for a real treat. Start with the char broiled oysters and you'll be happy that you did. Top it all off with the best old fashioned in town (using Rittenhouse Rye) and be sure to ask for a table in Bri's section for excellent service.

The food was delicious and our server was a delight. Props to Ellen for making the "GET OFF MY LAWN!" member of our party happy, which is near impossible. Minus 1 star for being out of multiple brew choices, regardless of being ordered from the chalkboard or printed drink list. Smoked bello burger was delicious, collard greens were NOT overcooked! Dad loved the shrimp and grits, surprised at how big the shrimp were. Smoked salmon dip was outstanding, but the broiled oysters were underwhelming and severely overpriced for what you get.

Probably my favorite place to eat I the North side. Always get great service from the bartenders and wait staff. The food is delicious, I especially love the Mac n cheese, the hot brown, the pimento cheese, the brisket, and their barbecue sauces. Cocktails are delicious as well. It's hard to decide what I want every time because I've never had anything there that I didn't thoroughly enjoy.

Loved the feel of the restuarant, looks very nice but still very casual. Service was pretty good, nothing amazing but nothing wrong. The baby back ribs were AMAZING. They're a bit peppery, but nothing sauce can't fix. Speaking of sauces, KC is the best, and not because it's also my name! All 4 of their home made sauces are great. It'd be nice if they had a more spicy option than original, though. My mother loved her BBQ chicken sandwich and the fries were perfect. The cornbread... is cornbread. But their butter on the cornbread made it the best cornbread I've ever had! I also had an apple whiskey smash which was absolutely delicious as well! They also have an amazing selection of whiskey. Definitely recommend this place to barbecue fans and whiskey fans!

I spoken to the young ladies that help us get an order together for someone else I am so excited to be able to go in here and sit down and dine with my family and looks like it's really upscale and because I am in the hospitality field I am a very critical critic so I like the way they do their glasses and their cocktails I think they have fresh squeezed lemonade I'm excited to find out about that and you can smell the barbecue I think they have a Pitmaster so I'm really excited to have a date night with my husband or family night with my children and grandchildren and go in there and have a meal and we love the Castleton area

We tried out the North End BBQ for their Devour Menu. The service was really poor. Our waitress was very inattentive. She folded napkins and chatted with other customers, but she didn't come by our table at all after our food was delivered until she brought the check. Our water glasses were completely empty (even the ice was gone), and we couldn't get anyone's attention to refill them. A car in the parking lot sat with its lights on for ten minutes shining the lights right in the window where were sitting, and we couldn't get anyone's attention to move us or put down a blind. The food was mostly really good. The macaroni and cheese was amazing. The apple cobbler with ice cream was awful. The kitchen (not our waitress, who was completely absent) brought that out five minutes after our dinner came, so the ice cream melted. The apple pieces had tough skins on them. Blech. I might go back for BBQ carryout, but wouldn't eat there again.

The food is really good and the pricing isn't bad. There are bbq places with a lot higher prices for the quality. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a good option.

First time in Indianapolis, ordered 1/2 slab & one meat (brisket). Ribs were very good, moist and tender. Brisket was even better, maybe the best I ever had. Collard greens and hoppin John was also very good, plus generous portions. Highly recommend. I'm from jacksonville, Go Jags.........Duuuuuuval!

A classy establishment for a barbeque joint. It's a whiskey bar as well. It has outside patio and places by windows. It's a pricey so don't go in without a couple of Andrew Jackson's. The milkshake was delicious. It has room for about 70 people. I got rib sandwich with Mac and cheese.

A little on the pricey side for BBQ. Had the brisket, fries and collard greens. The collards we're excellent, not cooked to mush like many places. The fries in a "bone marrow butter" topped with fresh slices of jalapenos were very good. Half of my brisket was more fall apart like a roast and had lost the smoke flavor. The other half was well sliced and had wonderful smoke flavor. The sauces were OK but none of them stood out. I ended up using a mix of the KC sauce that had a strong molasses flavor and the classic sauce for balance. Bring down the cost a little bit and keep the brisket more consistent and I'd be back more often.

We just found our new favorite BBQ place! Sadly, our old favorite place is closed for good, so we have been on the hunt for a new place for a while now. Very nice place with indoor and outdoor seating. Outside has very comfortable couches and fire pits. Indoor has tvs and a really cool bar. I've never seen so many different kinds of whisky and rum in one place! Super friendly waitress! A great first experience! We will definitely be back!

A wonderful place to go for good BBQ Pork Ribs. I enjoyed the Ribs and their house salad with honey mustard. The hand cut fries were very tasty. They have a bar so you can order most drinks.

What a great place! The shrimp and grits is amazing. The Texas style chili with the brisket, oh my. The Easy Lover cocktail is great! I've never had anything bad here and I'm relishing working my way down the menu. The collard greens are perfection. The cornbread with the maple butter is something I have to order every single time. I'm hoping one of these days I'll leave room for dessert, but it's hard with so many great options. Try the smoked salmon dip!

I was invited by a friend to dinner here which I felt would be kind of awkward since I'm vegan. However my worries were put to rest right away. Our waitress was very helpful and eager to explore menu options with me and then we were suprised by Chef D ! He created a veggie Poutine for me that was absolutely phenomenal on many levels. Completely unexpected!!! Then the main course arrived!! Totally blown away by the smoked portabella topped with house made green tomato chow chow. A savory dish with a touch of sweetness. Can't say enough for the welcoming environment in a BBQ place for a Vegan!! Chef D you rock!!!!!

This place is amazing and I always refer to it as "fancy barbecue". The meat is always on point and their sides are awesome. I recommend the Mac and Cheese with "rib jam". I tend to go for lunch and the wait staff are always right there when you need them and attentive to your needs. If you're into whiskey, this place has the selection for you. I would be aware that the plates with meat and two sides start at $15~ and only go up from there, so it's not a "cheap" stop for BBQ.

The North End is a can't-miss in the Indiana BBQ scene. During my college years, during multiple trips to Texas, I fell in love with smoked brisket. However, in my experience most places in Indiana are guilty of crimes against brisket... But NOT North End. The brisket is always perfection & is a generous portion. The side options are amazing... fresh sauteed veggies, bone marrow butter fries, amazing mac n cheese with rib jam, fresh cornbread... You can't go wrong whatever you try. The bar & drink options here are super, & the Seasonal Shake Up drink is a win every time.

Hostess was very nice, but the server was consistently brash and unfriendly. From a hiring perspective, the leadership needs to understand thay they're in the hospitality business. As a result, they should hire servers that are hospitable. I tired the turkey breast there today since it was 3rd visit there since they opened and it was not good at all! The brisket were good on past visits. Be prepared that it's more expensive than other BBQ restaurants & doesn't seem to be worth the extra cost.

Great service and a nice restaurant. Drinks are on the high side, but are excellent. Went with the platter and felt as though there is an enormous amount of food. And of course, the food is quite good. I went with the pork platter (with 2 sides) - fries and mac and cheese. Previously went with one of the sandwiches and was also very pleased with it too.
