This Restaurant is included in the category of Indian restaurant.
Super bland food. Seems more fit for non Indians.
Good buffet. Nice interior. Very good service. But not as authentic.
Have tried vegetarian dinner. Awesome food. Goodles people and services. Would definitely recommend to those who are looking to have good food time with family or friends.
Awesome establishment,clean,friendly personnel..etc
Small selection with average taste. Really nothing special. Would eat there again, but wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
Attended a party at the small party hall next to the dining area. Comfortable party room for a small gathering.
Really great atmosphere. Really great food Great service I've been to 3 total Indian places in the area and this has the best chance to be the best. Improvements: 1) slightly bigger portion sizes ( cuisine of India seems to have bigger portions, though I'll note there was enough to feel quite full but this is the only Indian Resturant where I didn't have any to take home) 2) organize menue like cuisine of India as it is simplified while offering the same items. Overall, I'll look forward to coming back as the service was great and the atmosphere was 5 stars for sure.
Very professional, clean and authentic. Definitely coming back again to dine in!
AMAZING food! GREAT customer service!
Good food and good price but service is a bit slow for main course
They have a very good lunch buffet.
Buffet has lot of items in the lunch . Very nice
Food was awesome..I found a home away from home in US ..sweet dish was ok..
Went for Mother's Day special $$$ lunch. Limited variety even on special lunch. 1 chicken item, 1 veg biryani (no plain rice, no chicken biryani). For party of 5, we were given 3 pieces of chicken tandoori. Even after requesting, no extra were given. Don't think I will ever visit this place again.
Not many options on the buffet but good overall
I like the decor in this place. Food and prices are good.
I've had different types of Indian curry from all over the world and the food was by far the least flavorful I have ever had. My dining partner and I left feeling completely unsatisfied. We tried the chicken tiki masala and chicken kadai, both which lacked the heat and spice Indian curry is known for. However, this restaurant would be a good introduction to Indian cuisine if someone has never experienced it before or has reservations trying it.
Very worst taste of food . The biriyani is horrible.the service time to bring the cheque takes about 20mins.the rice items are just cooked with coloured basmati rice no masala also . Never taste here.the gravies are only made of tomatos nothing else no proper masalas are used for cooking.
The service was excellent and so was the food
Love everything about this place! Highly recommend!
Catered some food for out family party over the weekend and it was excellent! Everyone asked where it was from and wanted to take some home.
Average buffet compared to some other better ones in the area. Service was good.
Long time customer.. never disappointed. Great service, good prices and delicious food
Great food. Great service. Best Indian food I have had in Chicago
Excellent food and service was fantastic. Very comfortable atmosphere and the owner came out and introduced himself. Awesome experience, highly recommended!!!
Great Indian food but a little expensive
Never disappointed
Awesome food, authentic Indian flavors used. Enjoyed the ambience. Good people.
Not more items in buffet. Tandoorind mango kulfi are fine. I would not suggest for buffet here. It's Not worth
Any complement to the taste of food, visible quality and quantity, personal attention to perfection given by Sanjeev, Annu and the staff of Indian Harvest will be an understatement. I am very particular about food and how it is presented. My private parties have always received utmost care of Sanjeev. We had food from Indian Harvest for our New Years Eve party and it was once again well appreciated by all my guest. If you plan to visit the restaurant soon, please try Berry Ice Cream.
Was very good. Service was good though seemed overboard to have 4 waiters watching us when was only one other table. Price seemed a bit much for what we ordered especially charging separate for the rice. Will go back and give the buffet a try to try a larger variety.
We had gone to the restaurant on a Sunday and opted for the vegetarian buffet. The food was good except for the jalfrezi, and the service was also good. My sister had been there a couple of months ago and said she was surprised at how different her previous experience has been to this one .
Fabulous lunch buffet!
All I have to say is the food was amazing
I have tried just once and it was a Sunday lunch buffet(vegeterian). We liked the Ambiance and service but my taste buds did not get satisfied. The salt level was quite low in all curries and it was high in Biryani. Biryani tasted and looked like veg pulao. I think taste is the most imp thing in any cuisine.
Unhealthy (me and my friend had stomach issues) and this restaurant has the worse Indian food I tried in Naperville. Wouldn't recommend for anything except ambience.
Good food. Bad service. Employee left door unlocked to their single bathroom, and unfortunately my boyfriend was exposed to the employee pooping.
Good Indian food. Courteous staff, the few times I have been there. Good buffet spread.
Since the since restaurant is so favorably rated, perhaps my first experience was a one-off. But as a truthful reviewer, I have to admit that the experience was a big disappointment. Sloppy service, though I could let that slip, but the food itself. Come on guys, you know could do much better. Flavor is like a melody where the spices are the harmony, nudging you just in the right places! This sounded more like a band of kindergartners. Since clearly my review is an outlier, I might just give them another chance. That would not be anytime too soon though! But hey, good job on the ambience!
Place is good. Food is yum!
Food was ok but service deservs 0
My family and I have been coming here for more than 10 years. I feel like I am a part of their family when I show up. The owner and staff are wonderful and the food is spot on! I have gone to many Indian cuisine restaurants throughout this area and Chicago and they are by far my favorite!
Compared to many Indian restaurants in the area, Indian Harvest had the most 'westernized' version of Indian cuisine! Very bland, oily food (biryani, baigan bhartha, chana masala etc.). Went there based on a friend's suggestion and was pretty disappointed. Just hope that they had a bad day in kitchen...
I don't understand how this place has any bad or ok reviews. This is one of the best indian restaurants we have tried (and we have tried quite a few in Illinois, St Louis, Atlanta, Canada etc.)The food and ambience was out of this world. We were here for weekend lunch buffet. The tandoori chicken and naan served at table were very soft, fresh and delicious. The chicken was very delicious and had a great taste and texture to it. It wasn't dry and submerged in red color like all the indian restaurants around this area. The lunch buffet had good selection of veg-non veg-non. Mutton was very soft and cooked to perfection. People complaining it's not authentic indian food are just used to of eating Americanized indian food laden with colors and cream. I really think you should give it a try as we are now customers for life (as long as they don't make any changes to their menu)
Highly disappointing!!! Except for ambience nothing is good in this place. The food here is pathetic. Its pricey as well.
Food was excellent! Service was very good. Our only problem is with Indian restaurants who charge a separate fee for rice. How else is someone to eat a lamb curry dish, or a tikka masala? Bump the fee and include the rice! We also liked the fennel seeds and candy which had to be mixed. Tasted the same as the mix with colored bits of candy included.
Great experience all the way around — food, wine, ambience, and service!
Really nice small Indian restaurant. It felt updated with good ambiance compared to most Indian places in the area. Food is delicious and high quality. Only wish is that they would make it with a bit more heat. You can tell they try to appease milder tastes here.
I ordered the gohst biryani and the chicken curry and rice and vegetable samosas. The food was amazing!!! It was fresh delicious and very hot!!! Very good portion of food for the price! The delivery was right on time. Also I was surprised that they add in Raita and the chutney for the vegetable samosas and a cucumber salad! It's the best Indian restaurant! I will definitely recommend this Indian restaurant to family and friends!
The place is great and food is good but the spread was small. Only 2 non veg dishes plus the tandoori chicken. Would have expected more variety and choices. But the food that was served was all great. So no complains there.
Catered food recently for my daughter's birthday. Have ordered food from many Desi restaurants in the past, but this one is the best so far . Way ahead in terms of taste and quality of items served. Very well done!
Good ambiance, good food. Not authentic Indian but still ok.
Food was great for the first time I've ever been to an Indian Restaurant. I DO feel that the service could have done better at paying attention to drinks and making sure they're filled.
Whenever I'm in town, I try to make it here for dinner. I love the Tikka Masala, Naan, and mango Lassi. Delicious and worth it.!
Ambience was good but the food was not..This is the worst rasamalai I have ever tasted and in Kashmiri pulao also instead of raisins and nuts they have simply added the fruits. Highly dissatisfied
Great lunch
Such a hopeless food me and my family went there and we all were sick. Food was not good
Awesome food,Awesome ambiance,Awsome staff,Awesome owners...
Nice food, nice service, warm welcome .....what else do you need for a Monday Lunch.......they have all....
I went there for a business meeting - Good meeting rooms and good food
Such an absolutely unfortunate experience. Visited with a party of three for a friend's birthday. My friends received their food, but my food did not arrive with it. There was no comment on the third dish. After having to seek out a waitress was told that they were working on it and would be out shortly. My friends finished their meal and still, no meal for me. I had to again seek out a waitress, since no one ever came to visit our table to check on us and told her to cancel the order and bring the check. She brought the check and said my food would be right out and still had the food on the check. I requested that the order be cancelled (again) and she asked if she should take it off the bill. Uhh...yes, I'm not going to pay for food that I didn't even get. She returned, having taken it off the bill and brought the food in take out style calling it a "gift from the management!" Seriously! I get that mistakes occur, but the mistakes were compounded by the lack of interest in making them right or even delivering any form of apology. To think that actually making my order free of charge was a gift from the manager and not reparations for the fact I didn't get to enjoy a birthday meal with my friend is not an apology.
I've been here for the lunch buffet and for dinner. Lunch buffet is delicious and always has my top few classics (a few curries, usually butter chicken or tikka masala, etc) and is definitely worth visiting a few times. They bring out delicious chicken and naan for the lunch buffet which is great for people who aren't sure if they like Indiian food. This is a great place for work lunch as I've always been in and out and back at my desk in an hour. Dinner is also great, and the atmosphere is comfortable and I feel fancy and informal both while I'm here. Also soooooo much parking. Always leave here full.
Excellence all the way..quality, consistency, ambience and service! Awesome experience..must try!
Slow service. Food was not upto expectation. Seemed understaffed.
Amazing owner and food
From waiting to be seated to waiting for someone to take our order to waiting for the food to arrive and then to top it all, waiting for someone for the check to be brought out - we waited a lot. Not to mention the smileless, unfriendly host and the the guy who was bringing out he food on the carts- both of them lacked character. The food is alright but the price is not just for the food but the value of service. The value was missing this time. Please teach your staff some basic lessons on smiling and greeting and treating your customers with a service that makes then come again. Sorry, not coming again.
Vegetarian briyani had a problem. Something was wrong with it. Not sure if rice was cleaned or old or something else. Stomach pain for me and my friends after having lunch there.
Really good Indian buffett... I wish they were closer to me as I would go there often.
I had an excellent first meal here. Curries and Naan were delicious. Chicken biryani was flavorful but only OK. I would recommend for place to with friends.
Food quality was ok.. not great. And service as well was ok.. some staffs are very courteous others are not. Price reasonable, not very high. It was ok experience.. chicken was not tender
Love the place. Great food, cordial staff and very clean.
Quality and quantity is OK...
I have almost always taken out from this restaurant and every time I have had the best of the food. I love the tasty curries as much as I love the tandoori offerings. The meat, be it chicken or gosht, it has always very juicy and tender. The near perfect balance of various herbs and spices makes the food from Indian Harvest the most satisfying for me.
Love this restaurant, authentic Indian Food, owners are very friendly and take personal care of their guests. The ambiance is great, food is excellent and not that expensive either. I love their buffet, especially on weekends.
Fantastic Indian food; great service, beautiful restaurant!
The chicken was not good quality.
Decent service; absolutely love their Chicken Corbett and Shaslik varieties served on a hot skillet.
Best Indian lunch buffet I have had! All food served was fresh and well seasoned. Also each table is given a plate of seasoned, roast chicken, freshly baked. Would highly recommend.
Their buffet is par excellence. Not the most reasonable price wise but worth it.
It's amazing how they managed to make Indian food so flavourless! We ordered vegetarian appetizers (Dahi Bhalla) and dishes (A paneer dish and Dal + Rice and Naans) and each one of them was a total miss. I wanted to return everything we ordered - but the wife did not want to create a scene.
Average taste but good ambiance.... way too overpriced....
Horrible tasteless food. I regret choosing this place for dinner last night.
Love the ambience and the food.. it is mildly spiced and my family loves it
Very good Indian lunch buffet, pleasant place to sit and visit
Veg and Indian foodies should stay clear of this place. They do not refill buffet, uncooked potatoes and unsalted peas curry (it was mutter paneer but paneer has disappeared) were the star. Salty and sour mini uttapums with some sort of Bhajia.
This is probably the best North Indian restaurant in Naperville area. We love going there and taking our friends there. We have also catered multiple events at home from them. Food is always a big hit with the guests. Five star quality.
I love this place. Always great service and excellent food.
The food was awesome. We were Oder like fish tandoori.... dal makhani... garlic naan... everything has served in best way, the taste was authentic style..... we had a good dinner... thanks to the service people..
I stop in a few times a year for the lunch buffet & I'm always glad I did. They have a good selection of items on the buffet. I am particularly fond of the goat curry.
Great experience start to finish. First of all, the ambiance is beautiful. We ordered a lot of food, since we wanted to have leftovers for the following day, and everything brought to our table was wonderfully aromatic, well presented and absolutely delicious. Wait staff was friendly and attentive, and even the owner AND the chef came to our table to ask us how our experience was going. I am super bummed out that I just discovered this place and I am moving out of Illinois next week. Hopefully I can squeeze in one more visit before I go.
Have been coming here since another favorite Indian restaurant of ours closed their doors for renovation. The buffet is excellent. They even bring sizzling tandoori chicken to the table with the buffet.
Food is fresh and well made! Love coming here! Highly recommend it!
Nice place. Shukria. Delicious and nutritious
Have tried a few Indian Restaurants in the same vicinity but would rank this one at the bottom. Went here after seeing the google rating but my experience was totally different. Apparently there was only one lady who was waiting the tables and must say she was on her toes the entire time i was there which was over an hour. I ordered malai kofta and roti which took long to order and then arrive. Malai kofta tasted not so good. Could smell garlic even bfre tasting it which is unlikely if cooked correctly! No one seemed bothered to check if guests were waiting for their order or may be waiting to order. I dont see myself going back to this restaurant again. But would like to appreciate the lady who was waiting the tables. She was working nonstop and was running here and there, must be tired for sure but was reaching to everyone with a smile!!
Excellent lunch buffet! The flavors here are far superior to any other in the area. Generous with the naan too.
My wife & I arrived for Xmas Eve dinner with two friends. The service here was great from our entrance. Indian Harvest has a formal dining area setting with meals that dance in your mouth with curry flavor. My wife's favorite is the Chicken Tika Marsala, large cubes of soft chicken in a wonderful spicy, creamy curry sauce. I had the Chicken Shaslik, perfectly prepared large chunks of tandori chicken breast with green pepper & onions. Our friends LOVED the Jhinga Laziz with large tender shrimp in a magical creamed spinach herbal sauce and the Methi Chicken in fenugreek & herbs. Delicious! After that wonderful meal, we were very happy customers! Thanks for the awesome food and VIP service. We really appreciate it.
Very nice place
Awesome restaurant! The decor is fantastic. It shows that the owners paid a lot of attention to the details of the decor and ambience. Excellence has a way of making itself evident! The food was fantastic too! Each dish was well thought of and authentic North Indian. Something you might get in Delhi or Himachal. The young men who served were working hard to be attentive to each patron. The owner came in and greeted each guest personally. What more would you need As they would say in India “संजीव जी, मज़ा आ गया!”
This place is my favorite Indian restaurant in Naperville. Their lunch buffet is very, very good and I don't often praise buffets. Actually, I generally hate them. We also get delivery from here sometimes and the food always arrives hot and well packaged. This place has excellent vegetarian options, as well as meat. The food tastes super fresh. I will definitely go back/continue to order takeout! The Gobi parantha and the paneer masala are particularly delicious. And the tandoori potatoes are incredible!
I've gone here for several years eat in and carry out, with a great casual vibe. Of course everyone knows that the lamb chops are where it is at, but really the baignan bharta is really stupendous. I love to share with friends and order a few items and do family style. This restaurant knows what they are doing. It's my go-to place when I really want Indian food in the western burbs.
Amazing vibes and super personal service. The food was fresh and yummy. Will clearly recommend this place to friends. Reasonable prices and generous portions. Keep it up.
The buffet is average, not many options.
Fantastic food. Service is a teensy bit slow. Missed connections, I guess - they were super attentive until we were finally ready to order :) I loved it. My water was refilled about a billion times while I was there, my glass was never less than half full. And again, amazing food.
It's fine
If you're looking for authentic gourmet Indian food look no further, Indian Harvest is your spot! Their nan comes out fresh to order and is delicious every time. Tindori chicken comes out on a sizzling hot iron skillet and is one of my favorites. They have many great dishes but I always go for their lamb entrees. Be sure to try the black tea with the Somrus liqueur which is quite the treat. Keep up the great work guys!
Fantastic food, friendly staff
I was there right when they opened. One of the owners took my order. Very nice guy. I ordered food to go. All the food was amazing. Their chicken korma was some of the best I've had. I highly recommend this place.
One of the best Indian restaurants around. The chicken tikka masala is awesome!
Awesome food. Special treat from Chef Sanjeev was just delicious
We love to take our friends to this restaurant. The food is excellent, the ambience is great and service is wonderful. We have even used their Banquet facility and catering service. 5 stars all the way.
Visited in during Thanksgiving. We had made reservation but they didn't had table ready. We waited more than 15 min. Food anyway was excellent. Tandoori Chicken was served to the table, also naan . Paneer was delicious, as well as mutton. They had two different spicy rises. Normal green salad was available. Mint chutney and raita tasted like in India. Cranberry kulfi was really sweet.
Perfect goat curry, spicy but not good overly done but really tasty. Awesome chicken korma, nutty and buttery. Mango Bellini was excellent! Nan was soft warm smokey! Great intimate booth and wonderful service. What great experience! We will definitely be back. Spouse is Indian and really enjoyed the meal! Wonderful
Been here so many times! but last couple of times it was not that great. I was seated in a spot view of kitchen. There was a bug that fell right from the ceiling or wherever and it landed on my table So I figured it was the weather and all and give then another chance. Then I decided to order it online and have it delivered tonight I had chicken tikka masala it was so spicy I threw it in the trash can! It's never that spicy!
We have enjoyed Indian Harvest restaurant since they opened. The food is generally excellent. One suggestion is that is you are considering the buffet, go at the beginning or mid times of the buffet. I have found, at least when I have been there, that the food had slimmer selections in the last 30 minutes of the buffet. Though all around delicious food!
Excellent ambiance but food wasn't up to the mark for what we expected. The pricing was also bit higher when compared to other restaurants. Good that they serve drinks along side with your entree's.
Loved loved the place and food!!! The aluminum dish kept food warm for a long period. The service was warm and friendly!!! I read reviews before choosing this restaurant and I especially love how the owner responds to most comments. It shows he/ she care! I had the lamb masala and nan.. so so good. I even called the restaurant to thank them and signed up for google email to be able to drop this compliment. I will be back with more friends for sure. By the way am Nigerian and I noticed one India guy was rude to one of the waiters asking for a wine not opened the night before. His attitude was just bad from finding where to seat and wine choices. So please just because you are from the culture doesn’t mean you should be rude. Please it’s a business. So if you want unopened wine go to Binnys first. Lastly, I just loved it all so 5 stars!!
Great place and authentic Indian taste. I am vegetarian but they have some great options for meat lovers (prepared in Indian style) as well !!
This is the worst Indian hotel I've been, less items, tasteless and stocked food. The only item that was tasting good was chicken, when asked for more was never served. Price they charge is never worth of what they offer.
Excellent and quick service, good tasty food, generous portions
Always good. Been coming here more than fifteen years. The only issue I have is that towards the tail end of the buffet hours, they're very hesitant to put out fresh food.
Garbage restaurant and worst food..I ever try in my life..very bad customer service. I went on father day...I will never ever suggest anyone..they charge 25 dollar on Buffet for person. All most everything with meat...no choices for vegetarian. Meat and vege food next each other. Food was cold.No taste.I been in USA 40 years but never eat Garbage food like Indian Harvest..never.. My father day rune because I went eat there. Customer can get sick with this kind food.. I m serious about this bad experience...omg..restroom dirty...worst experience in my life
Went on Memorial Day since a deluge prevented grilling. Place was very slow (fair for a holiday Monday). Service was excellent - the staff answered questions and were prompt. Food speed was also excellent. The kitchen is viewable to the dining room and is clean and organized. Food quality was wonderful. Everything is served family style so it's easy to share and experiment each other's entrees. You have to order rice separately but it's a large serving. It's a great place to try new Indian food with staff recommendations helping you along.
Best Indian food in Southwest suburbs of Chicago.
Our regular indian place was closed on Mondays, so we gave Indian Harvest a try this past Monday because I'm 9 months pregnant, and was craving indian food! Ordered 3 entrees with rice and naan for myself, my husband and our kids, who normally love indian food. Naan was fine, but we asked for mild gravy's and all three were literally burning our lips and throats.... I enjoy spice, but we literally couldn't finish the food because it was that spicy. My husband called just to make sure there wasn't a mistake for our order... they told us "Nope, that was mild. Sorry." and that was it. $60+ dollar meal plus my husband drove 25 min each way to pick it up... Won't be going back, unfortunately :(
Delicious lunch buffet, the goat Curry is amazing! Lunch buffet comes with fresh, sizzling plate of tandoori chicken, and buffet has a good selection of classic Indian favorites. Other buffets I've been to tone down the spice and flavors, but this one was just right.
Thank you for another fantastic meal. Very authentic and good service.
Always get the same thing...vegetable samosas, ghost lamb and lime soda. It's all so good I never want to try anything new!
I was never a huge fan of Indian food until I tried the food here. They have gained long time customers in my family. A little bit more expensive than some but the price you pay is for the value you get and it certainly shows here. Asolutely delicious.
Good food. Very authentic. Highly recommended!
I was there on a Friday night. The food was delicious but the service was so slow, extremely slow. I think there was only two waiters and one chef. It took 2 and a half hours for drinks, appetizers and dinner.
The restaurant is good. It has good ambience and staff is good. Weekend buffet was good and priced ok. It has mix of veggies and non veg. Its on ogden avenue in Naperville IL. Overall it is good and should visit once.
Terrific food and very friendly service!
Oh Yes! Love the food here. Trying new dishes when we meet our friends here
Excellent food excellent service used to work near here maybe 8 years ago nothing has changed it's a great place. They use real spices
I love this place!
Cool relaxing place with large menu and delicious food.
i have been going here for a cpl yrs now, sometimes multiple x's a week. including bringing them NEW CUSTOMERS on the REGULAR. tonight i realize i have a carryout groupon about to expire tonight, i use their online order option to place this order, as to I'm in a CAR DRIVING OVER AN HR TO GET THIS FOOD. my fiancé walks in to get the food (which i added $30extra too) only to be told that bc we used THEIR PROVIDED ONLINE ORDERING OPTION we were unable to use our groupon. he said the "fine print" stated the restrictions. NOW THERE WAS NOT ONE LINE OF TEXT LOCATED VIA GROUPON NOR THEIR WEB PAGE INDICATING THAT YOU HAD TO PHONE WITH YOUR VOICE TO PLACE THE ORDER, FOR THEM TO HONOR YOUR GROUPON. JUST STATED FOR CARRYOUT ONLY. we will NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AGIAN. such a shame too bc were recently engaged and were prepared to ask them to cater our engagement party as well as our wedding... to treat such loyal customers this way is distasteful. SHAME ON THE MAN WITH THE GREY HAIR
The food is great as usual. The staff is kind. Brunch is incredible!
Great lunch buffet, would be good if they also did a dinner buffet at the same price.
Ambience and service is good..but food taste is below average....
We ordered Chicken tikka dry and Goat curry for take-out one late evening. Chicken tikka was fine but Goat curry was just too watery and bland. I feel since it was late and they were probably running out of Goat curry stock, they just added more water and gave it to us. A better option would have been to tell us that they have run out of Goat curry and may be suggest us another dish. Well, I have been here many times but this was a really disappointing experience.
Writing this review as I am still in the restaurant. Was really looking for nice indian punjabi food. I came here only by reading the reviews and 3.9 rating. Really had high expectations but to my disappointment this is not Punjabi food people. Awful Awful....so not happy I have so wasted my money....I want that money back that I paid for this horrible food. Need major taste bud smaking taste...
The food is amazing and they have friendly staff.
Skimpy on amount of chicken in dishes, service could be better, they take more time than they say for pick ups, and they're too pricey compared to their competition. There are other places that are better - try masala, they're worth the trip in Warrenville and it's only 5 more minutes away. Story: I ordered food for pick up and arrived when they said they'd be done, but they were late. Having a fussy baby with me, I told the hostess I'd be in my car waiting. My car was in the first slot and they had a clear window looking right at me (6' away). After another 15 minutes of waiting, I came back inside to find what's taking so long. Turns out the hostess had my order ten minutes ago but waited for me to come in rather than taking it out to me (it was prepaid and I was literally 6'away, but for me to come in, I couldn't leave a baby in the car and had to unpack everything. Contrastingly, I went to Masala. Everything was ready when I got there. I told the host (the smiling owner) my wife has pregnancy cravings for their one special slushy drink with tapioca balls. He said congratulations, and have me the drink for free, and said he hoped we came back again soon. They know how to run a business the right way at Masala, and their food is just better, more of it, and less expensive. BTW - the cook is awesome and creates special dishes for me.
I had the lunch buffet a few years ago, ran about $13 but it was so worth it. They brought me my own basket of hot buttered nann and a small platter of delicious sizzling chicken. I remembered the name of the restaurant and every time I hear the word Naperville, IL I respond go to Indian Harvest for the lunch buffet and I live in Orlando, FL.
Not the best place for authentic Indian food. My party and I only went bc our usual place was close for a party. This is a place you take people who want to try Indian food, but are hesitant. It lacked the spices and flavor I was craving and left unsatisfied. This was the second time I've been there and I dont think I will be returning for a third time.
The quantity of the cup for biriyani and gravies is very less for the high price. Proper attention is not paid to customers.
Below average Indian food. Service was mediocre as well.
The food was fresh and delicious. The service was inattentive. We had to request a server to take our order after sitting about 20 minutes, with only the busboy delivering papadum, condiments and water during that time. Then, we waited another 20-25 minutes for our food, after requesting status on its arrival. After dinner, we had to request the check. No one bothered to ask if we wanted another drink; no one refilled water glasses; the server didn't bother asking how our food was, or if we needed anything else, once the food arrived. There seemed to be an adequate number of servers, so they must be poorly managed. We won't be returning any time soon.
The vegetarian options were better than the nonvegetarian options. Butter chicken and goat curry were ok but the dhokla was good. Not great for a $20 buffet.
Food is usually good but chicken tikka is always raw
SEPT. 27, 2017 -- UPDATED REVIEW: I should've specified that the previous review was for the buffet and unfortunately there is no real way to specialize my food choices when I am coming to the buffet. Perhaps I will give your restaurant a try again outside of the buffet because both my husband and I love your dinner menu and the Lamb Vindaloo. Frankly, I miss the Kadhi Chicken Kebab and if you're saying it has the same amount of chicken in it as the original version *and* you are willing to modify any dish to suit my palate, then yes, you've more than earned back your stars. THANK YOU! ORIGINAL REVIEW: I had been coming to Indian Harvest for nearly 20 years now -- well-before the move to the now newer location by Binny's. VERY disappointed from recent visits. EVERYTHING seems to now have cinnamon in it and I can only handle cinnamon in small doses. You walk in and the entire place stinks of cinnamon. It's like going to your grandmother's house during the holidays and she has every cinnamon holiday candle lit. Not ever dish needs to have cinnamon in it. They've managed to completely RUIN their Butter Chicken and Baingan Barta with this new cinnamon trend. Whoever is in the kitchen doing this needs to be fired and they need to get whoever was their chef *before* back in the kitchen. I haven't been here in over a year because of this issue. I have complained several times about the cinnamon in everything now and it has not changed. It's a shame too, seeing as I love the kadhi chicken kebab. Not happy either that you guys changed the size of this appetizer. You also have in your pics on this review an image of the kadhi chicken kebab in its *original* size -- not the smaller version. It's almost like you're taunting me with the beautiful memory of the dish I LOVED. But now, you made it MUCH smaller but charge the same price. In fact, I think you may have increased the price! You should offer it as appetizer-size and entree-size because it's an awesome dish. Since I have made it very clear that the food was better BEFORE 2016, the management needs to assess what has changed since 2016. If it's a new chef -- then they need to be taught how to *properly* make the dishes the way they were before 2016 -- or outright fired. Until this cinnamon-in-everything issue is remedied *AND* the issue with the kadhi chicken kebab addressed, I will absolutely *not* be back. It's unfortunate that you've lost a customer of nearly 20 yrs -- and if you pay attention to what I have said in this review -- management will know *exactly* what customer this is.
The lunch buffet is amazing. I love this place, such a great local business with great service and delicious food. Highly, highly recommend. And it’s not a chain- always refreshing in Naperville (every restaurant is a stupid chain).
Bill and Vilma put out great pizza and the lunch budget is outstanding. + Free Hugs from Else.
Great ambiance, hospitality and delicious food.
If you have a desire for some great Indian food you must stop in to the The Indian Harvest Restaurant, Cress Creek Square Shopping Center, 796 Royal St George Dr #101, Naperville, IL 60563 and be amazed at how good it all tastes and the exceptional service!
This is our 3rd time eating Indian food. Our other restaurant closed, so based on the reviews we decided to try this out. We are so impressed! The food is excellent! The staff is very friendly and the portion sizes are perfect. The naan is large, so be careful before ordering more than one. It's rare to say that something is large when it comes to restaurants. Chicken tikka masala, and lamb vindaloo are a great choice. We ordered pick up once and everything was packaged so well. Nothing spilled and everything was still hot.
Food and service is always good.
