I came during Devour Indy. The drinks were strong. I felt like I was in somewhat of a fight with the bread and I don't feel like they give enough food for the prices they charge but the food was pretty good and the service was excellent!!! Their over-attentive approach may bother some, it annoyed my partner. But I'd rather they be available if necessary, than absent when needed.

Waitress wasn't friendly at all, very passive agressive, food was incredibly unimpressive!! There was no one in the restaurant yet it took 45 minutes to get two medium rare steaks. Furthermore, As a more up scale restraunt you would think they would have some sense of presentation but I ordered a $50 filet and that's what I got.... Not even a sprig of parsley? Over my biggest problem was that the food did not justify the price and the experience did not make up for it. Sad honestly because the other franchise I went to was great. :(

First time here, had 10oz lobster tails cooked perfectly and chef allowed me to add a 4 oz filet even though it wasn't on the menu, both delicious. We'd planned on wine, but when server showed us the specialty drinks, we decided on the Stoli-Doli (pineapple infused vodka) It was yummy and so smooth. Great service and ambiance and definitely plan on going back!!

Wonderfully seasoned and cooked steak. I also ordered shrimp cocktail and a salad. The shrimp were large and the cocktail sauce was great. The wedge salad left a little to be desired but it was still good. I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves steaks.

Stopped here to have a drink and possibly dinner. We were looked up and down and treated like third-class citizens because we were dressed casually. Think how Julia Roberts was treated in "Pretty Woman." RUDE. We were seated in the bar area because the dining room was supposedly full although there were reservations available on Open Table. I had a Bloody Mary that was like drinking horseradish/cocktail sauce. I normally love both of those, but this was terrible! I was sick after drinking some of it and had to take an antacid. Another in our group had a Crown & Coke. It was fine, but the same drink was $4.00 cheaper at Harry and Izzy's. We won't go back to Capital Grill.

There's not a single bad thing I can say about The Capital Grille. I go a few times each year and the food and service is phenomenal! The staff are knowledgeable, polite and all around great! They give great food and beverage suggestions and my water is never below half full. The food is cooked just the way you ask for it. There are a lot of steak places that over or undercook your steak, but it's just the way I ask for it every time here!

Fabulous food, sumptuous atmosphere and world-class service is what we always find here and love going early to have the place to ourselves. The Capital Grille is a hidden secret for breakfast in downtown Indy. We are there on a Sunday morning & we all had (4 of us total) had the blueberry pancakes. This option had a unique flavor & we all cleaned our plates 100%! The coffee was great as well. Try the blueberry pancakes at the Capital Grille for breakfast...you WILL NOT be disappointed!

Will never be eating at this place ever! Ordered Tilapia fish and it wasn’t cooked all the way! Had food poisoning really bad. I’ve never had food poisoning ever and I knew as soon as It went in my stomach something wasn’t right! Be careful ordering food at this place! I travel to Indy so many times and this is 1 restaurant I always avoid. I usually never post such negative feed back, but as miserable as I was coming out of this place gave me no choice.

Dry aged bone in Ribeye... Everything. Truffle fries were also delicious. For Valentine's Day our server captured and printed photo of my husband and I. The complimentary glass of champagne was a nice touch as well. Lovely evening. The service staff was very attentive.

We celebrated our 4th anniversary with The Capital Grille & we couldn't have been more pleased with our experience. Our server, Tyler, made our experience there great! He was very patient & helped guide us through the menu. He had several recommendations & knew the answers to all of our questions without hesitation. The whole staff at the restaurant was so nice & we were wished "Happy Anniversary" by the people at the front, other servers walking by & Tyler multiple times. They had a single long stem rose, a hand written card wishing us Happy Anniversary & all servers signed their name to it & heart confetti on the table. Me & my husband both ordered steaks which were cooked perfectly & great! We also shared the lobster Mac & cheese, which is to die for! Seriously the best lobster Mac & cheese we have ever had!! It is a "must order" side dish!! After our delicious dinner, Tyler brought us a complimentary anniversary dessert with 2 glasses of Champagne to top off the experience. Our food was delicious but the experience there was even better. We seriously felt like celebrities, even though we are far from it lol! We will definitely be back to The Capital Grille! Thanks for making our night simply amazing!

My restaurant of choice for any theatre event on Hennepin. They make you feel special. Have taken grandchildren there to help them work on and refine public manners. The staff smiles, and helps young men seat their elders or a teen trying new food. They take the time to make it an experience for young people on top of that the food is fantastic. I have never had a bad meal and for someone dealing with celiac that is a challenge.

Went during restaurant week where they featured the coffee crusted steak. Solid, conned cooked perfectly to temperature but still over priced. Service was excellent and that along with the Truman era setting is what you pay for. The fact that at these priced steaks are NOT prime grade is just unacceptable. For value Texas Roadhouse is better and for quality Costco's prime grade is a fraction of the price and the quality increase is apparent. This is a good meal for great service on an expense account

Q37 is better I had a rib eye that was bigger then the porterhouse they gave me... After having their Delmonico with the aged balsamic, it’s easy to see why this chain is routinely rated the top in the country and often outshines some of the best known stand alone steakhouses in the country! While no one can argue about the choice of Manny’s as the place to take guests and clients from out of town when trying to give them a “Minneapolis experience,” I freely admit Capital Grille is my favorite and when a guest or client suggests it, I secretly do my happy dance inside. My steaks are always served exactly the way I like them, very rare encased with a crisp edge, with or without a rub. Superior ingredients and superior preparation makes a superior taste experience almost inevitable.

My family and I have been coming to this location for a very long time now and we had our first negative experience. I'm not sure if the management changed, but the overall experience was not good. We had reservation at for the Mother's Day brunch and waited 45 minutes before being seated. When we noticed another family of 5 that came in 20 minutes after us had been seated, we knew we had been forgotten about. We brought it to the host's attention and were finally seated...at a table for 5.. we had 6 guests. So it was clear our table had been given to another party. We were disappointed it wasn't the buffet style for brunch this year, but we pushed on. Except that instead of handing us the brunch menu, the host pushed the regular, more expensive menu to us, and only handed us 3 of the brunch menus. But we pushed on and ordered the courses that the brunch included, which were a bit lacking but we were still hopeful. Luckily the appetizer of the soup I got was good hot. But when our entrees arrived, the food runners just began placing the wrong dishes in front of everyone and when we corrected them, they seemed confused. I ordered the chicken and waffles they had for that day and the cream corn it came with was room temperature and the waffles were very dry and too sweet. They also stacked the waffles on each other and topped the first one with a huge glob of sweet butter. It was overpowering. I tried to help the dryness of the waffles by asking for a bit more syrup (they put about 3 drops on) but unfortunately, I just added to the sugar. On the bright side, the chicken was hot and delicious. My husband got the filet mignon and it was a bit overcooked. The green beans he had ordered with it were so cold and hard, it didn't taste like they had been cooked at all, just pulled out of a fridge and covered in a light sauce. Luckily, I recognized that the desserts were the same as always so I very much enjoyed my dessert, expect once again we had to play musical plates because the wrong orders were set in front of us again. I also noticed our waiter did not complete the usual table service that I saw every other table receiving, and we had received in previous years, such as scraping the crumbs from the table off or getting a hot towel after our dessert. It sounds very pretentious when I say it, but for the price we are paying it's hard not expect the true fine dining experience. The manager was kind enough to come ask us how our meal was (after we had paid) and gave us a gift card for the trouble, but she did not ask why our experience was bad. I didn't feel our family made a scene or was rude, but the staff avoided us and it was noticeable. I really hope this was just a fluke and the next time will be as enjoyable as our other trips, but we are hesitant to return and spend that kind of money for another bad time.

Careful reaching over the slender champagne glasses as they tip easy. Do yourself a favor and valet or take an Uber to get here as driving or parking at this location would not be fun otherwise.

It is one of my all-time favorite places to eat and be served. It is a relatively expensive night out. Signature cocktails are in the $16-$18 range and entre's are in the $50-$65 range. The 22 ounce steak is $85. All that being said, we are talking about a premium dining experience. Everyone who works there treats you the way you want to be treated on a night out for a special occasion. The waiters are VERY knowledgeable about the fare and the food is fantastic. Steaks are melt-in-your-mouth tender. The deserts are decadent. My personal favorite being the coconut creme pie. It is so good, I would go there just for that alone. If you eat here and you are disappointed, chances are, it is you, not them.

So it's Friday night and my boyfriend and I are both off. Our son is with his grandmother. And we are, here, on a date. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Our waitress was Taylor. She was great. Very attentive, knowledgeable, and courteous. Our food was perfect. We sat outside and the weather was beautiful. I really enjoy being able to have good food, great weather and perfect service. I would recommend the filet with lobster tails, the augratin potatoes, the roasted mushrooms and roasted chicken with risotto. I expect a much better lunch at a place in the downtown area listed as fine dining... I'm told that I should really come back sometime for dinner as that is where they apparently shine. In my party we ordered the chicken, salmon, and the signature burger. The chicken was just fine - nothing special. I would recommend the burger but if you want a great burger, there are plenty of other options in the area. The salmon stole the show in terms of being inedible. The citrus glaze was far too sweet and there was way too much of it. I felt as though I was eating candy like... melt down some startbursts and put it on a piece of fish. I could hear the spirit of Gordon Ramsey screaming, "What are you doing?! You've ruined this perfectly good piece of fish!" It was truly awful and I will probably never come back here. The Lobster Bisque was mediocre and flavorless at best. The only redemption that earns a star is the excellent wait staff. the service here was really wonderful.

3.9 stars. Service was good. Food was just okay. Potatoes were glupy and the asparagus was basically still raw. But our entree’s were cooked perfectly which is why you go there in the first place but for the price I expected everything to be cooked perfect.

Our server, Mark, was the highlight of our evening! We would come back just to have him as a server!!! He took really good care of our table!!! Surprisingly, For an expensive restaurant! everything was so basic, underseasoned, undercooked, and overcooked. Tuna tartare was the worst I've ever tasted at any restaurant, mac and cheese was soooooo soupy and undercooked, brussel sprouts still had thick stem on the ends, calamari was most definitely undercooked and not seasoned. Had to put a little salt. That's the first! Shrimp wasn't deveined. I had to pull that out before tasting the shrimp. Ewwww The steak was made to perfection! Just come for the steak and drinks Au gratin was good, & the beer was cold. For a $210.00 meal, this food was not worth it. Great customer service! Not so good of a Chef

Good for the business lunch crowd, but butcher and the boar has better meat and bull dog and 112 have better burgers and and not too far away and at a better price point. I always enjoy my evenings spent at the Capital Grille! When I’m visiting, I make a point to ask for Paulyn because she always provides stellar service and ensures a extraordinary experience! It’s not an average evening when at Capital. It’s not very often that I’ll treat myself to red meat but when I do, it’s here. I know it will be perfect and worth the splurge! Next time I visit, I’ll have to take a few photos so I can share on this review. Typically I’m too busy enjoying myself to even think about snapping photos!

My husband and I are not from KC but had got married 6 days prior to our outing to this restaurant and decided to make a trip to KC to celebrate and was gifted a gift certificate to this place. We both agreed it was the best steak we’ve ever had and best service. Before they even knew of our celebratory reason for coming, Elizabeth, our waitress, gave us a free side since it was our first time! Fantastic waiter!! And then when they knew of our celebratory outing, they gifted us with free champagne and a rose and offered to take photos as well! We were both blown away from how amazing the service and food was. This was our first time to have dinner at Capital Grille. Since we were staying on The Plaza it was so nice to have a restaurant that was just a short walk. We used the online reservations and were seated in a very quiet table for two....lovely! Jackson was our server and took care of us very well! The food was fabulous! My filet mignon with lobster tails was delicious! It was done just as I had ordered. The lobster mac and cheese was so decedent.....but so delicious! There was enough for two of us to share. Because this was our first time, we got a free dessert as well....a nice surprise! We would definitely go back again. Yes, this was a pricey meal, but totally worth it!

After a poor experience on Christmas Eve at the Rusty Scupper, the Capital Grille turned the holiday around. We got in for a very last minute 8:45 reservation and the customer service was top of the line from the moment we set foot in the restaurant. The food, drink and atmosphere were exceptional. Not only were the steaks cooked to perfection, but they came in generous portions. All of our sides and our appetizer were delightful. And—each craft cocktail was made with care. Most importantly, our waiter, the hostess and management all made the experience special. At the Capital Grille, you get what you pay for and much, much more.

We had reservations for 6.. The young blonde hostess seated us at a table for 5. When we asked for a table for 6 as per the reservation, she replied said she'd add a 6th chair, place setting, etc. There were 2 men in our party and the circular table would have been cramped; additionally, the reservation was for 6 - not 5. When we asked for a table for 6 - the young lady got short and snippy..asking why we couldn't sit at the table for 5; we asked for another table [again]. Her manager seated us at a table for 6 in the lounge area. The food: -Both Clam chowders needed salt; -Lobster in the lobster bisque was overcooked and chewy; -Salad's were fresh and dressed appropriately; -Both co-workers' salmon orders with string beans [regaular and blackened] were cooked well; -Intern's Burger and rosemary fries cooked to order; -Co-worker's shrimp and polenta was tasty [portion was small]; -My steak was cooked as ordered and my creamed spinach needed a pinch of salt; -Rosemary fries were good; -Espresso cake was good; -Creme brulee was delicious. Our server was excellent.

The execution and delivery of our meal was spectacular and, reason enough alone to return. However, the show stopper for us during our first visit was the service. The place was incredibly busy, which is to be expected for a Friday evening but, you would have thought we were the only patrons in the entire place. Everything about the Capital Grill is above average. From the hostesses, to the bartenders, to the waitstaff, and to the food. The service is 100% consistent, friendly, professional. A manager always stops by the table to see how things are going, and the waiters always make you feel like you are there only customer. The food is 100% consistent as well. My recent dinner included a bone-in filet with truffle butter. Wow!

I made a reservation for myself back in October to celebrate my birthday because I wanted to eat at a fine dining restaurant. I made my reservation for 715pm. I showed up at 705pm and it was packed to capacity! I did not get seated until 755pm which is my reason for the four stars instead of five. When I was seated, I was introduced to my server, Jackson was the bomb! The bread and butter was awesome. The alcohol selections for cocktails all sounded delightful, but I settled on their signature drink, Stoli Doli. I ordered the sesame tuna, sauteed spinach and lobster mac and cheese. It was so good! Jackson came out and sprinkled birthday confetti on my table and brought a card and rose which was thoughtful. But, I realized that as I was waiting on valet to bring my car that I had forgotten my leftovers! I informed the hostess and she graciously offered to go back to the table, but I could see the look on her and Jackson's faces that it had already been disposed of. I was sad, but Jackson brought me another rose and then the manager came over and apologized for MY mistake and said she was going to grab a gift card for me. Yall, I waited patiently while she grabbed my card and she brought back it to me and apologized AGAIN for a mistake that I had made. I got home, thinking she'd put $20 on the card, but she'd given me a whole $50 gift card! I was so shocked! Despite the annoyance of not being seated for almost an hour, the service was impeccable. I would go again for sure. I enjoyed my experience.

We dined here on 4/20, for my birthday. Our waiter, Ryan was outstanding. Juan, our server never let our water glasses fall below half full. (Let's not forget the valet attendants and doormen, all very professional and attentive). We both had the pear and gorgonzola salad, which was outstanding. I had the porcini bone-in ribeye cooked to perfection (requested medium-rare with no blood running on the plate), my fiancé had the Kona rub bone-in New York strip (medium); both steaks were cooked to perfection! (no blood running all over the plate). We ordered the au gratin potatoes (probably some of the best I've ever eaten, so creamy and melted in your mouth), and the asparagus (cooked perfectly). All topped with a beautiful platter of cheese cake and flour-less chocolate cake. Perfect experience all around! This was my first visit, but my fiancé had been here before. Looking forward to our next special occasion to dine here!

My restaurant of choice for any theatre event on Hennepin. They make you feel special. Have taken grandchildren there to help them work on and refine public manners. The staff smiles, and helps young men seat their elders or a teen trying new food. They take the time to make it an experience for young people on top of that the food is fantastic. I have never had a bad meal and for someone dealing with celiac that is a challenge.

The waitress was very helpful and very attentive to the large party we had. The restaurant is very upscale and the lighting is dimly lit which sets a nice atmosphere in the restaurant. Really delicious. I had the steak au poivre and it was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I didn't even need a steak knife. I also ordered a side of the mashed potatoes which were super yummy. Everything was a bit pricey, but I was staying in the Conrad so eating here was extremely convenient. There was a conference going on, so the bar area was packed and really loud, but I imagine that's not the typical ambiance.

I cannot say enough about this restaurant. Last evening was my second visit and it was just as wonderful as the first. The atmosphere is so pleasant and the service is so friendly. Dave was very prompt about greeting us when we arrived to be seated and quickly got us water and drinks. I typically refuse to sit near the kitchen, but we were seated there last evening and it wasn’t so bad at Capital Grille. The kitchen wasn’t overly loud and the staff weren’t so boisterous as I’ve encountered in the past elsewhere. Our server was John. He was knowledgeable and informative about the menu options and specials. We started with the pan fried calamari. Oh, my! There was just so much of it! It was cooked to perfection and the pieces were of good size. Each piece was buttery delicious. My husband ordered rack of lamb and ordered salmon prepared Oscar style. We also ordered asparagus and lobster mac n’ cheese. The main course was just so fantastic! The lamb was cooked perfectly medium rare, as ordered, and the flavor was just delicious. My salmon was even more enjoyable than I anticipated. The sides were delightful, too. Now if you’ve never had lobster mac n’ cheese, you need to absolutely taste Capital Grille’s take on it. So heavenly! We were celebrating my husbands birthday and John was most accommodating helping me do something special. The plate John brought out had Happy Birthday stenciled on it in chocolate and contained a small round serving of flourless espresso cake and another small round serving of cheesecake, with some slices of fruit. All were fantastic! The photos of the food don’t do it justice. If you’ve never been, know that the all-around experience is certainly worth the expense. The food will knock your socks off!!

What a great experience at the capital grille. I would strongly advise you to come to this restaurant in try the steak or veal. The cocktails are good especially when made with Russell's reserve. This was our pick this year for Fancy Dinner Friendsgiving. The service was great. The food was, too. I had the seared tenderloin and lobster tails which were exquisite. We shared several sides among our group, but to me, the unsung heroes were the humble Brussels sprouts. The soy glaze was heart-achingly good, and they were roasted exactly as I like them. I don't even have room to type out all the wonderful food and drink we had. I will say this, the cocktails are STRONG. That might not be to everyone's taste, but for a special night out with friends, it was perfect.

This place was amazing! So romantic! The staffing was great and took care of us very frequently. My boyfriend and I came here on Valentine's Day and got a complimentary photo, printed on the spot and we got to take it home. The dishes were so rich and filling. I was very satisfied. However, I would recommend not going where they switch over from lunch to dinner because that is a weird time to be in (maybe it was just the day), but I felt like they were not ready for us to come in and they weren't sure if it was dinner or lunch time. Also there were a lot of staffing moving back and fourth by our table, which I did not mind too much, but it was distracting at some points. Overall the experience was fabulous and would definitely go back there again.

What stands out is definitely the service. We went here for our anniversary, and between my wife and I had an appetizer, split an entree and two side dishes. It was plenty of food, and the Tuna Tartare with Siracha and Mango was easily my favorite. Food was good (as would be expected in a place with ~50 dollars per entree), drinks were also good and nicely strong. What shines was our waitress and the wait staff in general. Very attentive, happy to help, and in tune with the rythm of the customers. Probably a 3.5-4 star experience if not for that.

As expected from such an expensive restaurant, everything here was spectacular. The initial bread basket is even worth raving about, as the variety and tastiness was truly something to talk about! I had been waiting to try a KC strip steak for a special occasion and decided this was the place to get it, and boy was that the right call or what. It was SO GOOD. The blackened flavor on the exterior paired with the amazingly rich interior was unreal. The service made the evening even better, as the server was extremely knowledgeable about both the food and drink menu.

Stopped here with a group of 4 on business while in Kansas City. This is my "go-to" for steak in the area when I'm in town and again had an awesome experience. French Onion soup was good. Noah the bartender suggested a good wine to pair with my filet. Others in my party had the seafood dishes which were excellent as well. Great environment and dining for business events! Noah at the bar is the highlight of the trip, this guy knows customer service!

Came here with a large group. Staff was very friendly but after we told the server we weren't ready for a second time he came back a little pushy. He could've been trying to keep our table at pace with the other two but it still seemed excessive. My wife has Celiac's disease so we both split gluten free entrees and a salad. The meal was truly amazing and the kitchen and server were well versed on gluten free. The only hiccup with gluten we had was when we ordered their home-made ice cream for dessert and asked again to be prepared gluten free. He said absolutely and a short while later came back with the ice cream, topped with a biscotti. I flagged him down and he immediately took the plate and replaced it with a fresh new serving sans biscotti. My loss of a star is due to the gluten mishap with the ice cream but mostly toward the server's attitude, which slowly grew more impatient through the meal. I find that unnecessary considering we were there with 15-20 people on a business dinner, which cost a few thousand dollars.

The food and service were excellent!! I had the lamb, brussel sprouts and a blackberry sidecar. The flavor of the lamb was perfect and it melts in your mouth. The brussel sprouts are so delicious! Also, the staff love to celebrate special occasions. If you mention a special reason for dining they bring out complimentary champagne and dessert!

We made a reservation to enjoy an early meal before attending a musical at the Hippodrome. Our server, Layne, was the highlight of our wonderful experience. She was attentive, personable, and just fantastic. She had recommendations, knowledge about the wine, and a bubbly personality. The food and drinks were amazing as well. Only complaint would be that they don’t advertise their valet very well. It is on the side street instead of in front of the restaurant- so we didn’t know it was available and got street parking 2 blocks away that we had to pay for. Maybe a sign on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant stating where the valet is would resolve that issue. Overall, we had an incredible experience and though we live closer to several Capital Grilles, we would drive the further distance to have Layne be our server again!

Anniversary dinner was an amazing success. We arrived to a beautiful table decorated with a card and a red rose. We enjoyed their bread (a brown sweeter bread, a cheesy onion bread, sesame bread, and a thin cracker) and butter while we discussed our order. Our server was knowledgeable and gave us great recommendations (we tried an incredible mozzarella prosciutto bruschetta type appetizer and brussel sprouts that we would have overlooked). We shared the porter house steak and it was one of the best steaks I have ever had. Mashed potatoes we ordered were also delicious. They gave us complimentary dessert- chocolate torte cake and creme brûlée cheesecake. They were so delicious and we were so full, we could not bring ourselves to order more dessert. We had plenty of leftovers to take home.

I go the Capital Grille fairly often and have always been impressed with their food and service each and every time. Unfortunately, I had a poor experience with the service at this location. Our server took about 15-20 minutes to just greet us and wasn't very personable when she finally did. After she took our order, we saw her one more time when I food came out and had to ask another server for our check. Food was great, I just kind of expect better service for this establishment.

Very trendy place here I suppose the food must be fantastic because I never got the chance to eat any because it was so crowded. Problem is you must have a reservation or you will be waiting for about an hour to get seated to eat. There is valet parking and the valets are Greek people. Since we had to wait a couple hours to eat the valet told us about another place to eat right next door to the Capital Grille on the other side of the State Theater which is called the Crave. The Crave is a marvelous place to eat too. Nice atmosphere but very expensive my tab a hundred fifty bucks for taking my son and daughter-in-law out to eat. Course the Capital Grille will be more. have a great time.

I went here to celebrate a friends wedding and it was one of the best places that I've eaten in Baltimore. Our waiter was amazing. Her knew the menu very well, offer suggestions and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious as well. From the lobster salad to the lump crab appetizer to the steaks and burgers. You can't go wrong ordering anything. For dessert their cheesecake with a brulee topping was a perfect end to our meal. They also have a full bar and interesting cocktails.

I was in a party of 6 for mother's day dinner, and our waitress couldn't have been better. Unfortunately, that's where the pleasantries end. We ordered from the special menu where the dinners were $49 each. The salad's were skimpy as were the deserts. Two of us ordered filet mignon which was supposed to come with mashed potatoes and green beans. They brought out a small plate of potatoes for the 2 of us to share and neither of us had green beans. We also ordered this same meal to go for our brother who couldn't make it. All he got was the steak, NO potatoes or green beans. I'm sorry, but $49 is way too much to pay for just a filet mignon. For 5 meals, I spent $492 for these tasty but skimpy meals and drinks, or almost $100 a person and only 2 of the 5 were even drinking. I expected more, so needless to say, I'll find somewhere else to eat for Mother's Day next year.

We have always had wonderful experiences & we could not have asked for a more magical night for my mother’s birthday celebration on June 1st! Our entire experience from beginning to end was perfect, to say the least. The owner personally made a point to make sure our experience was five stars from beginning to end. We were greeted with champagne, birthday confetti and a birthday card welcoming my mom. Our waitress, Sydney, was exceptional. We really enjoyed her service and company. I ordered the special, a bone in filet, and can honestly say it was one of the best cuts of meat I’ve ever had. I would highly recommend and can’t wait to go back to the Capital Grille!

The waiter, Paul, even offered to go down the street to get us a special drink. If you want a certain type of seafood, you can let them know when you make your reservations and they will order it in. The entres cost around $50 per plate plus side plus drink plus appetizer. The only negative was that it can get a bit loud. We did thoroughly enjoy our food and evening. I can recommend this restaurant for a special occasion.

The mashed potatoes were great. My son wanted orange juice and I didn't expect it to be fresh squeezed, now that's fine dining. Our server did a great job. We highly recommend this restaurant. And the cheesecake was divine. It was worth spending over $200 here. The only little issue we had was finding a parking spot. Valet parking was the best way to go with.

The meat preparation 'Pittsburgh Style', which should be charred on outside and rare to mid-rare was good, however, not as well charred as say, Hyde Park prepares this style. This was perhaps my favorite meal of our Washington, D.C. / Baltimore vacation. The Capital Grille knows how to treat diners, and they know how to cook good food. I have to say, I think this is the first time that my server came up to the table and addressed me by name to welcome me. This was a convenience move for us due to it's proximity to the aquarium, but I'm so glad we did it. The decor and atmosphere is like any Capital Grille - classy and upscale with dark wood and nice art pieces. Our server was extremely friendly and competent, and made our experience even better. Onto the food - the part that really blew me away. First of all, the price was fantastic for such a restaurant. I paid $20 for a salad, two Mini Tenderloin Sandwiches, and a heaping cup of Parmesan Truffle Fries. The sandwiches were bursting with flavor and juiciness, absolutely perfectly done. I want every steak that I eat from now on to be this high quality and this well cooked - unfortunately, I'm sure that's not possible. The Parmesan Truffle Fries were also very flavorful, perfectly fried, and generously portioned. Everything was over-the-top fantastic. Highly recommend.

Bread was great! Good variety, too. Clam Chowder and Wedge Salad were very good. Split au gratin potatoes and they were pretty good....probably a 7 out of 10. My wife ordered a 10 oz filet and I ordered the 12 oz bone in filet. Mine was really good..........almost Ruth's Chris level, but my wife's was underdone. She ordered hers medium and it came out rare. When they tried to fix it, they ended up over-cooking it and burning the outside. So, steaks were 7-8 out of 10. Our server, Celia, was excellent! Very friendly, very attentive. When the kitchen screwed up my wife's steak, Celia brought us a 'dessert plate', with some fruit, flourless chocolate cake and cheesecake. And to wash it down, she brought each a glass of sparkling wine. Overall, very good place to eat. We'd go back. Ask for Celia, if you go. She'll give you the best service you've ever had!

Hands down my favorite steakhouse in the cities. I have NEVER had bad service or food here which is more than I can say for ANY other steakhouse within 500 miles. This was our first time to have dinner at Capital Grille. Since we were staying on The Plaza it was so nice to have a restaurant that was just a short walk. We used the online reservations and were seated in a very quiet table for two....lovely! Jackson was our server and took care of us very well! The food was fabulous! My filet mignon with lobster tails was delicious! It was done just as I had ordered. The lobster mac and cheese was so decedent.....but so delicious! There was enough for two of us to share. Because this was our first time, we got a free dessert as well....a nice surprise! We would definitely go back again. Yes, this was a pricey meal, but totally worth it!

At our server's suggestion we shared the jumbo lump crab cocktail as an appetizer and then shared french beans with heirloom tomatoes with our entrees. Again at his recommendation, we each ordered the Porcini rubbed bone-in Ribeye with 15-year aged balsamic as our entree. Delicious. Easily the best steak I've ever had. We enjoyed a nice Can with our dinner and finished up with a wonderfully smooth almond ice cream. Our waiter was attentive and effortlessly guided us through our meal to get us to our symphony concert with time to spare. A very special evening.

Fantastic experience, we celebrated 25th anniversary with them, we did not prearrange anything, only told the hostess our occasion, a red rose and a hand signed card with rose petals on our table. This establishment is nestled in a nice location, overlooking the local square. My group was greeted with a friendly reception and offered places at the bar while waiting for our reserved table. The atmosphere is upscale and refined. The food pricing is higher than some surrounding locations, but you are paying for the service, food quality, and ambiance. I enjoyed the food and the entertaining staff. This is a great place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, upscale dates, or go for a business lunch. Update (07/28/2019):. I visited this restaurant again and was pleased with the service once more. I made a reservation through the website, and we arrived a little early. The hostesses say us early without any issue. Our server was attentive, and the manager came by to make sure we were enjoying our meal.

First off, dont let the prices scare you away! Every dollar is worth it! We made a reservation for 10:45 the Saturday before mother's day. The restaurant closes at 11. However, we did not feel as though we imposed on the staff. They were all very friendly and made for a wonderful experience. I believe this is because they keep the lounge open until midnight. Our server Joe, was very approachable and informative for our first time visiting. He made sure we understood all of our options and made recommendations! The restaurant was empty when we arrived, as it was nearing closing. This offered a sense of private dining! Wonderful lighting and music that doesnt leave an eerie room. We ordered our food and drinks. Started with the calamari to share, it was very tasty however neither of us were fans of the hot peppers. We then ordered our main course, Sushi Grade Tuna Steak, and a Dry Aged KC Strip. Both had not only amazing flavor, but top notch mouth feel and tenderness. The food was perfect temperature. With our meal we also had twin lobster tails and a side of lobster mac to share. While we struggled to finish all of our food, we were reassured that we would be able to take the leftovers home. The portions were large! The steak was 14 oz, and the tuna was roughly 10 oz. The lobster tails were large and they serve generous portions of the sides. All thanks to Chef Marc. Overall, I highly recommend a visit to The Capitol Grille! The food is truly a elevating experience! I recommend reservations as they are typically packed!

My wife and I went there for our 28th anniversary. Due to traffic we were late, but it wasn't an issue. when we got there they had a table set for us. A card and a bunch of heart shaped sprinkles in the table.. The people are so nice there. Atmosphere was great. We started off with the lobster bisque .. Wow, was it good, and had chunks of lobster, not pieces but chunks of meat. Then had the special, Fillet Mignon Salad. The meat was done perfectly and the salad was great. Everything was great. It was a bit pricey ( could also be cause of my two glasses of scotch) but well worth it. And to top it off, they gave us a chocolate filled brownie with Ice cream on it. Will definitely be coming back... Thank you to the management and staff for making our special day a little more special....

Considering you're paying half your college tuition for everything, the food is extremely disappointing. The quality does not stack up at all. Also what's up with the lights, man? Wow that's all I can say ! One of the finest dinners I've had in a long time. I had the bone in felet and my wife had the sea scallops. Certainly one of the most consistent restaurants in Kansas City. No commentary is needed for the food as it is absolutely amazing. The special when I went recently was the Filet Oscar which came with crab, asparagus and a béarnaise sauce which were absolutely cooked to perfection (medium rare is my go-to). We also ordered the Lobster Mac N' Cheese and Truffle Fries, must have for sure! I cannot recommend this place more. Certainly worth every penny!

We wanted another 15 before being seated! We were extremely displeased With the experience. We visited The Capital Grille before going to the theatre. It was also celebration for my husband's birthday. The service was good, our waiter was polite and prompt but not overly friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. Tender steak cooked to perfection. Our shared side of fries were piping hot, crisp on the outside, and seasoned with a whiff of truffle oil and parmesan cheese. I enjoyed a couple of their signature drinks and my husband had a lovely red wine blend. A great spot for a special meal!

This is literally probably one of our favorite steakhouses!! Neither the food or drinks ever disappoint. However, the only reason I am giving 3 stars is because our last visit was a bit spotty. For the first time I had really bad service. I'm not sure if the server was new or what the issue was, but he was not good. When we arrived for our reservation we were seated in the very back room which unfortunately was really cold due to the door (not his fault at all). We asked him to move and he wasn't too happy about it. He went and talked to who he had to talk to to get us moved but when he came back to get us he instructed us to grab our silverware and drinks and follow him. WHAAAATTT?!! I was completely blown away, you never tell a customer to grab their own things! But, we just grabbed our stuff so that we could be seated and get our order placed. The entire rest of our visit he would disappear for long stints of time and we had to track other servers down for help. I was really disappointed with this experience to say the least.

Although they may be considered a chain, the price, service, and experience are right up there with some of the best. We have only come here on a couple most special occasions and have not been let down. The food is perfectly prepared (exactly as asked for) and the service is absolutely amazing. Doesn't seem like a high-end dish like the rest of the menu, but it is to die for... just wonderful.

I just found our waitresses card and I remembered our visit like it was yesterday. It compelled me to finish a very long overdue review. My boyfriend and I went to the Capital Grille in mid December 2018 (I believe the 17th). We had a whole date night planned. We typically dont go to restaurants with a quiet atmosphere, so we didn't even notice the noise from the large group of businessmen sitting at a table beside us. Our waitress Sandy Erickson did, however. She provided spectacular guest service with a bit of a motherly touch. She made us feel very welcome and valued. This alone made our visit one to remember. I had the lamb, which was quite amazing. My boyfriend had the Kona Crusted steak. I only had one bite of the steak, but it is a bite that I will never forget. We have eaten many steaks since then, but that one has by far been the best steak either of us has ever tried in our lives. I highly recommend the Capital Grille and can confidently say that they will have my business in the future .

Amazing. I have fallen in love with this place from the very first time I was here for my work party in December. My boyfriend and I just came here for our anniversary and they did whatever they could to make it perfect for us. Sprinkled hearts on the table, champagne toast, small but tasty app, and an adorable desert plate that had "happy anniversary" written in chocolate. The food was amazing, but the service is by far the best service we've had dining at fine dining restaurants in Indianapolis. There was an anniversary card and rose on the table upon arrival, along with the table being scattered with rose petals. Our salads were delicious and the bread basket had different options which was a pleasant surprise. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, and the lobster and butter sauce was divine. Unfortunately, I feel this place is overrated. The service was amazing, but the food was blah. The scallops were slightly under cooked. They were good, but not amazing, or worth spending $50. The rib-eye was the biggest disappointment. We you spend over $60 on just the meat, you don't expect a steak with a lot of large chuncks of fat with a very bland flavor. On the plus side the mashed potatoes were the best part.

Love this place. If you want a special night out it’s perfect or if you want to more casual sit in the bar, they have a great bar menu. If you go, the prosciutto wrapped mozzarella cheese is one of the best appetizers I’ve ever had. I’ll be honest we have gone just for that! Was a delicious experience! I even enjoyed trying thing that I have never tried before. It was all so very delicious. Service was outstanding. I am a water drinker and often times I get forgotten and run dry. Not here! They had a gal who was continually filling up our water glasses. Thank you for a delightful dinning experience!

We made a reservation to enjoy an early meal before attending a musical at the Hippodrome. Our server, Layne, was the highlight of our wonderful experience. She was attentive, personable, and just fantastic. She had recommendations, knowledge about the wine, and a bubbly personality. The food and drinks were amazing as well. Only complaint would be that they don’t advertise their valet very well. It is on the side street instead of in front of the restaurant- so we didn’t know it was available and got street parking 2 blocks away that we had to pay for. Maybe a sign on the sidewalk in front of the restaurant stating where the valet is would resolve that issue. Overall, we had an incredible experience and though we live closer to several Capital Grilles, we would drive the further distance to have Layne be our server again!

Very good, I personally had the special Fillet Oscar, which I can't recommend highly enough. Someone else with me had a fillet mignon with cold water lobster surf and turf, and while the lobster was fantastic, the steak came out a little too overdone. Our server covered the cork fee and our dessert which was amazing service so I'm still giving them 5 stars, the service is always first class.

I wasn't offered a butter knife when I was presented with the complimentary bread . As any fine diner or indeed restaurant knows that a butter knife is an essential part of a dining experience. One does not spread butter with a dinner knife . I cant say that it was an oversight by the Maitre 'D as all the other tables were also bereft of this item of cutlery. So minus one star for that. The food however was really good I had the filet Oscar the crab meat on the steak was wonderfully sweet and complimentary to the steak which cut like butter (no pun intended ) . Also the waiter practically ignored me and only spoke to my wife who had made the reservation. And minus another star for that. I liked the iPad menu but it lacked any other drinks except for cocktails..an update with all drinks on would be better . Nice cosy decor.

Can't say enough good things. We were here this time for a private event. Everything was exceptional. The seafood appetizers included steamed shrimp & lobster tails, jumbo lump blue crab and raw oysters, all of which were extremely fresh and done perfectly. The lollipop lamb chops melted in your mouth and my NY strip was delicious and done a perfect medium rare as requested.

Last Saturday was my first and probably my last time coming here. The food isn't all that good to me. I think that you're paying for the atmosphere. The server Steve was nice, but very pushy, and treated us like he was a used car salesman. He kept trying to upscale us on the most expensive dishes, instead of allowing my date and I to pick what we wanted to pick. Id rather go to longhorn and spend half the money for way better food, and for better service.

Guess what I got home, and they were burnt bad called them back to explain the manager says he would call me back I never heard from him and I spent 152.00 there July 5th 2019 I took pictures of my food my receipt and the chef and managers named terrible.

I really like it when you have something that tastes so good that you can't wait to go back. That would be The Capital Grille's French onion soup. I can't even remember when I've tasted one as good. Although my wife and I are not big fans of chain restaurants, we picked Capital Grille on Valentine's day for two main reasons. They have a gluten sensitive menu, and they did not have a prix fixe menu for Valentine's day. To begin with, we were given a glass of champagne while waiting for our table. I started with the French onion soup while my wife had the cast iron garlic shrimp. She enjoyed the shrimp. I think we both knew we should have stopped with the appetizers and went straight to dessert, but we were committed to the full experience. My wife got the tenderloin with lobster tail while I got the special: filet mignon and Alaskan king crab legs. Our steaks were very good. I thought my crab legs were more on the snow crab size, but were still tasty. We were a little surprised that the drawn butter wasn't heated by a tea light, so both our crab legs and lobster tails lost their gusto as they started to cool off. We split the au gratin potatoes which were good and most of this ended up going home with us that my wife enjoyed the next day as a meal. For dessert, my wife got the flourless chocolate Expresso cake which she loved although by now we were truly miserable for eating too much. I had the warm apple crostata, which was fine, but I could have done with out the apple skins since they added a strange texture. Our server was great and reassuring to my wife in his genuine care about her sensitivity. The door hostesses could have been a little nicer and we are still not sure how some were offered to have their coats checked while others were not.

This place absolutely made my 30th birthday dinner wonderful! Lobster Mac and cheese is the best I have ever had their mozzarella is so fresh, it takes like is house and Handmade! Their tea always taste fresh brewed. Everything about this place is quality! Their location is amazing. They have valet! Top 5 in Kansas City!

Food is good. Nothing special. Honestly, you can get equal or better and very similar food for 2/3 to 1/2 the price within a block or two. Over priced food and over priced drinks... I genuinely don’t imagine the restraurant being able to survive like that.

Just had the most wonderful evening last night at Capital Grille downtown Baltimore.. a large family birthday celebration and impeccable service from our lead server Layne! We have dined there many times large and small groups and by far last night was one of our most enjoyable times. For a party of 20 Layne arranged some appetizers for us immediately when we were seated and then we ordered ala carte ...all Delicious and perfectly prepared entrees! And I personally enjoyed the pineapple infused vodka cocktails! Thank you Layne and our other servers and Capital Grille for making our family birthdays a lovely evening! Pam

I am not a fan of chain restraunts, at all... But the Capital Grille never fails to impress me. The waiter was well informed and very honest "the berries are out of season, I don't recommend that"... The steak was cooked to perfection and the calamari is possibly the best I have had. Oh... and don't forget the lobster bisque!

My restaurant of choice for any theatre event on Hennepin. They make you feel special. Have taken grandchildren there to help them work on and refine public manners. The staff smiles, and helps young men seat their elders or a teen trying new food. They take the time to make it an experience for young people on top of that the food is fantastic. I have never had a bad meal and for someone dealing with celiac that is a challenge.

We have celebrated several big events at Capital Grille’s and have never been disappointed. Muneca Slade,manager and Lawrence our server made sure everything was perfect for our evening. Special table decorations and a card along with champagne toast to start our meal made us feel very special. Food was excellent and Lawrence’s recommendations were appreciated and added to our experience. We also received a special dessert. Muneca stopped and checked with us several times and wished us a Happy Anniversary. The most special touch was Lawrence taking our picture and then presenting us with a framed photo to take with us to remember the evening. Thank you all so much!!!

I am vegan, and the staff was very accommodating and wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. they came back to the table about three times to ask me questions that the chef had...do you like peppers? would you like rice or noodles with the stir fry? AND despite not being on the menu, it was delicious! my boyfriend also enjoyed his steak but honestly I have no clue what cut he got. we split the asparagus and it was also delicious. very nice atmosphere and very welcoming. also the valet is free if you eat there!

My fiance and I were visiting Baltimore for a weekend getaway to celebrate July 4th and my 30th birthday. We went to a local Baltimore restaurant and the service was so horrible we walked out. We then decided we would go to Capital Grille and as soon as we walked in we were greated by the manager Ben who was so friendly and welcoming! He listened to our horror story and how it was my birthday and he immediately got us a great table that had a birthday card and confetti on it. Our waitress Taylor was a breath of fresh air. She was knowledgeable on the menu and made great recommendations. Capital Grille turned my birthday around and I am so happy we decided to go!
