Not as great as it usually is. Wife's steak was quite a bit fatty, but the others at the table looked great. Waitress was a bit off and awkward, slow to refill drinks. Chef didn't do much to entertain as others do. No Saki shots like usual. I'll come back for sure, hoping our servers were just having an off day.

The food was good, the entertainer was good. We went there with extended family We are from out of the area, everyone was social. We tipped the entertainer, the bar maid, and left a decent tip for the waitress who barely got off her butt, just the plates, water, and then the bill But once the bill came suddenly she starts whining how tips not only cover her but bus boys and whatever everyone had a decent time till this woman came over and one by one she would stand in front of each couple including the young adults we had with us trying for everyone to have to answer to her at how unfair it is for waitresses that share their tips I mean she literally was trying for a group discussion and do the puppy dog pout, And looking to get individual additional tips, I was pist Her behavior was totally discusting. If I had, had my way The tip left would have been recinded and feel she should have lost her job. After that, No way in heck would I go there again.

Taku has a good menu selection and the option of sitting on the Hibachi side or the traditional side. I always choose traditional side and the service and food are both fine. They also have a good cocktail selection although the specialty drinks listed on the menu are not always available.

If you go here you have to go to the grill, just dining in is okay but the food isnt as good unless you get the grill. The place is pretty fancy and a little expensive but in the end its all worth it. You get a little show from your Chef and the food is almost always just right.

We dined in. From walking in the door to leaving we were there for maybe 35 minutes. We were not rushed by anyone, that's just how fast the service was! There might be a wait if you have a large party of course. I got the teriyaki steak entree, medium well. It was perfect. My husband got the American Dream and Rainbow rolls. He devoured all 18 pieces! Best of all, we greatly enjoyed that they're open on Sundays unlike so many mom & pop restaurants in this region.

The place is starting to break down. The sushi boat had scotch tape holding it together. The lights that are hanging from the ceiling are starting to to go out and not being replaced. Sting used to hold some stuff together... going down hill fast... that food was alright, not super delicious this time.

We really enjoy coming here for all occasions. We love the hibachi side where the chef cooks in front of you and the portions can't be beat for the price. The normal sit-down side is great too and the sushi is always good. Nice lunch specials as well - the bento boxes are a great, cheap, filling choice.

Dining in is a lot cheaper then having them prepare food in front of you. It’s a great birthday dinner and fun to watch but it’s 50 per person and it comes with a soup and salad. I prefer to dine in way cheaper and still great food. They sometimes have not so fresh fish though which I don’t care for. But most of the time it is fresh.

The food was really good! The guy cooking on the grill was probably the funniest hibachi chef I've seen in a long time. He had a lot of funny jokes and little comments that I'd never heard before. It was my wife's birthday and if you go with a group of 3-5 people the birthday person gets their meal 50% off and if you bring 6 or more people then they will get 100% off their meal! Definitely will be going back. We both got the half order of chicken and friend rice and ordered 3 sushi rolls to split and it was plenty of food. We both took a box home and have lunch for tomorrow!

Good for gluten free - great selection of sashimi with gluten free soy sauce. Decent glass of Sauvignon Blanc and ambience for a strip mall in Kokomo. Miso soup and salad dressing contain gluten so I skipped them in favor of wine for an “appetizer”

The food is amazing but the service kinda sucks. i had to get up to get my own napkins and soy sauce and at the end of my party’s stay we ate around $200 worth of food and they automatically charged us $30 more for tip to the waiter even though they were not attentive at all. Only tipped $15. last time I called for a take out order the lady said “okay just a sec” them hung up after me being 4min on hold like- weird flex but ok sis

The food here is delicious. Some of the food I do believe has msgs in it, but that's not an issue to me. The service is great and prompt. The environment is warm, welcoming, and clean. You have the option to sit at a table with your family and order to the table or you can go to the tables where they cook in front of you and entertain you. It's well worth it. I highly recommend the miso soup and the seaweed salad!

Went for a quick bite to eat. Was my go to place for sushi in Kokomo. Went inside and ordered 2 smoked salmon "sushi", 3 cooked shrimp "sushi" and 2 orders of yakitori. Its Monday and I've heard before you shouldn't order seafood on Monday because it's not the freshest. But again, I've had great experiences with this restaurant, so im giving them the benefit of doubt. The server said they only had one order of sushi. Fine, we'll take that. Once all the food comes out, the shrimp nigiri was obviously uncooked, and had a greasy, oily, looking pus on the head . She tried to assure us that it was. Then the smoked salmon had dark pink edges that comes from being cut too soon before serving and sitting out. We eat two of the four and the yakitori, which was delicious. I ask for the check and the manager. I explain to her that the food wasnt as fresh as usual. She proceeds to tell me that since i touched the food, i had to pay for it..mind you we haven't taken a bite of the other two pieces of "sushi". I ask her if she would pay for the fish that is obviously not fresh. She says no but since I touched it, she cant sell it to other people. She says they "put it out yesterday" and that's why it's not the freshest?!?! We weren't even trying to get out of the bill, just the food we didnt EAT! In the end, we didnt pay for what we didnt eat . So while it was my favorite place to eat in Kokomo, I will never go back due to the PISS POOR customer service. Just dont eat the "sushi" on Monday either. And we left a $4 tip on a $16 bill. It wasn't her fault.

It is a great little place. Good food and great service. It IS pricey, but if you have been there more than once, I'd say opt for the dining area rather than the the grill area only because they pretty much only have one routine, and you don't need to tip quite as high just because you're not paying the grill chef. All in all though, we love it. The rice is phenomenal and I LOVE their house ginger dressing :)

We had a party of seven, one who has to use an oxygen machine, and made a reservation for 7pm. We all arrived at 6:52pm and were given a buzzer. Around 7:09, we went up to ask about our reservation because we had been waiting 16 minutes. We were told there were 3-4 groups ahead of us. We said that we had made a reservation and stated that we had someone who will run out of oxygen if we have to wait much longer. About 5 minutes later a manager came to us and said we had to wait at least 10-15 minutes longer. Right now, it is 7:27pm and we have yet to be seated. We are very upset with the costumer service and are leaving now. I do not recommend.

We got a nice wide selection of the menu, and we thoroughly enjoyed every item we sampled. Diners have the option of sitting at a hibachi grill and watching a chef prepare their food in front of them, but we decided to stick to the dining room today. The entire restaurant feels very much modern and trendy, which is a nice and quite unique look in the part of Kokomo it's in. We had tons of fun and ate tons of food and had an amazing experience. Our waiter was probably one of the nicest and most accommodating people I've met in a restaurant. The tables are pretty small and close together, but we had a great time talking to the other tables and really enjoying our meals together. The staff were even in costume to celebrate Halloween, which made the whole experience extra fun! The food ranged from above - average to phenomenal, with some menu items being absolutely stunning in terms of both presentation and flavour. There was no item I sampled that left me disappointed. The one item that stood out the most to me was the flaming island roll. This sushi roll is served wrapped in foil and lit on fire at the table, much to the amusement of the entire dining room, and tasted just as good as it looked. It's a unique and fun experience, but an incredibly satisfying meal as well, even for those who have never enjoyed sushi, such as my mother who ate more of it than I did. Honestly, truly, this is probably one of my favourite restaurants in Indiana now, and I'm so glad we gave it a try. For small gatherings, I can't recommend this place enough, but it may not be able to comfortably accommodate more than 4 or 6 people in one party.

Sat down at a table for dinner, place was decently busy as expected for a Friday night. Went to the bar to grab a cocktail and the bar tender sounded very unsure as to whether he could make an old fashioned, so I just asked for bourbon on the rocks. Took him a few minutes just to get that going (glass,booze, 3 cubes, takes 10 seconds). He poured a thimbleful into a glass and said it was 10 bucks. I was a little irritated at that, but gave him cash and waited for change. Took several minutes just to get change. Mind you, I was the only one he was helping this whole time so the busy Friday night excuse doesn't count. As for the food, one of our orders was done and sitting on the counter for 15 minutes before the other 2 items we ordered were ready. Pretty poor planning with that. The Servers work very hard however, no complaints there .and the cowboy roll was excellent so no can't fault them there.

Been a few times before and it was great. Today we sat at a table since we have seen the show before. Unfortunately the food was barely edible. Shells in the lobster. Tough shrimp and chicken. Steaks were way overdone. Had to send back 2 of our 3 entrees and if it wasnt for the fact it was my only meal today we should have returned all 3. So disappointed because as I said we have been a few times before and it was great. Based on tonight we will not be back.
