This Restaurant is included in the category of Indian restaurant.
Good good and nice ambience
Good food and polite staff. They didn't honor a discount coupon on a Sunday, it's possible I should have known that. Vegan options are great, but I cannot speak about meat dishes.
The food was outstanding their rice pudding is real good good service good price nice people clean place I highly recommend this place
Excellent dinner.
This is a restaurant we live pretty close to, so we end up going fairly often. Louisville has a lot of great Indian food options, and I have to say this place certainly is in the upper echelon. Nice atmosphere, plenty of parking and an expansive menu. Lots of vegetarian options as well, if that is your preference. The service has always been excellent and we always end up with leftovers. The buffet on the weekends is great too. They often have two-for-one dinner entree deals in flyer coupons and groupon, which is a really great value.
Wonderful food, friendly staff, great atmosphere!!
I would eat here every day if I could! If you've been looking to try Indian food, what better way to get to know what you like than a buffet? From meats to vegetarian dishes, and several deserts, there's something for everyone!
A nondescript exterior hides a white-tablecloth atmosphere with some of the best Indian cuisine in Louisville.
The food was fabulous! I was greeted by a very cutie Indian women with a huge smile and it just got better after that. atmosphere was relaxed lights dim and soothing although I did not eat the buffet it was large and could tell it was all very fresh. I would recommend this place to anyone.
This is an amazing restaurant. They have a very good ambience the food options are too many. I went there for lunch and it was amazing. Totally worth it
Good food but selection is not as good as other Indian restaurants around here.
Food is very delicious.don’t think just go and eat there pls.you’ll like it!
Great authentic Indian food
Highly satisfying flavors. Warm hospitable service and fresh cooked buffet. Loved the Gulab Jamun ,rice pudding and chai. Must visit!!
Best Indian in the area! The Tiki Masala is amazing!
The food was delicious and the service was great.
It’s okay. There are better Indian food options.
The lunch buffet is good. There's not much variety but what's there is good. The staff is friendly and the kitchen keep the buffet well stocked.
Delicious. Great service.
The food is excellent. We go about once a month and usually do carryout. Our kids go nuts over the food and usually ask us multiple times a month if we can go! I highly recommend it and the staff are friendly and courteous.
Very impressed with the customer service I walked in I say Hey how's your day going would like to eat in or eat out today I ate and I really enjoyed the food it was phenomenal for the price it was just great temple worth it if you're looking for something good price good food good quality experience and customer service at the letter home this is the place for you you guys have done a phenomenal job very well done will be returning again with me and my wife
I always like their samosas and naan but I swear, because I've tasted no other like it, they make their saag with canned spinach. I could be wrong, but it has that canned like hint of flavor. I like Taj but honestly there are better Indian options however I do enjoy the ambience and some of their items.
The best people cooking the best Indian food. My experience is when the owners are working on the floor the experience is exemplary. Would definitely recommend this place
Really bad and stale food. I am surprised this restaurant has such good reviews. Will contact owner.
Excellent food, service and price consistently over the past 8 years. My corporate colleagues and I have been eating lunch there since I moved to Louisville in 2011. My 3 Indian colleagues over the years consider this the best Indian authentic home food in this area. Very convenient location easy to park and never crowded for lunch.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great food - multiple interesting and delightful tastes. Worth a visit, we'll be going back!
Great food and service
Best quality in that area..it looks very clean and a lot of parking space available ..and it is well maintained..thought the buffet menu is small than other Indian restaurants the quality is very great..
My favorite Indian dish is Lamb Korma, the dish is all about the sauce, my second favorite Indian food is the bread, or naan as they call their leavened bread, and this place saw me sopping up the Korma sauce with the naan until the plate was clean
Probably my favorite Indian restaurant in Louisville even though Bombay grill is more authentic. What really pushes this in front is the amazing tandoori chicken that they sell here. Do yourself a favor and try it out especially when it's been freshly made. Love the buffets.
Best Indian food in Louisville and reasonably priced. The dining experience is very upscale.
Great food... TASTY FOOD! The staff is friendly and attentive. The price is reasonable.
Excellent service and Excellent food!
Not an expert on Indian cuisine but its my top choice of the 3 or 4, I've tried here in Louisville. Good lunch buffet with equally good service.
Based on my buffet experience i have rated it low.
The lunch buffet was limited compared to Shalimar and Clay Oven. My wife also has celiac and they did not have much to accomodiate her. I ask about a different type of non like a lentil naan and they were going to charge us for it. The tandoori chicken was Giver take some parts are drier than others.
Food was delicious I liked it however as we like we smelled a very foul smell we guessed it was coming from the bathroom. We had a outdoor seating and it was very nice I think the outdoor seating is very underutilized there.
Great Indian place. Food is always delicious. Atmosphere is usually quiet and calm. Staff is very attentive. I would recommend going to their lunch buffet so sample all the different curries and entrees they have. Samosas are amazing and the vegetable pekora is crisp and well-seasoned.
Yum, awesome service.
Worst chikcen biryani ate after Bombay grill...please give option to rate zero stars
Amazing food, atmosphere, and service!!! I love Taj Palace
Best in town.great food full of flavor and friendly..also try their buffet
We use Groupon deal or Taj Palace! Good food!
Best Indian restaurant in Louisville. Affordable prices, good quantity, delicious taste!
Their lunch buffet should be under $10 like rest of the Desi restaurants in the US. Their servers need to be actively picking the plates once the guests are done with their food after each round. Food is ok. They need to make it Halal too. I didn't see halal sign anywhere.
The food is good. Tried chicken afghani and biryani. The staffs are superb , working on holidays. Rani and Pratibha were great with serving food timely.
Really tasty food with a solid selection for lunch. The buffet had several classics and a few dishes I was less familiar with.
Worst food I ever had in my life.. They don't know the difference between fried rice and biryani. All the team did a blunt mistake with vegetarian and non-vegetarian food... Food taste sucks. My suggestion never go to this place
We have had good service and food here before. However, we visited last night and were seated, but could never get anyone to take our drink order, or to discuss food choices. They were not busy at 7PM on a Saturday night. After 25 minutes we got up and left, and nobody even noticed. The staff seemed more concerned with playing on their cell phones.
This place is BEYOND AMAZING! This buffet is phenomenal. Every dish on the buffet will leave your mouth watering. I will personally tip the cook on my next visit. Great service and very friendly staff.
Taj Palace is our go to Indian restaurant. Even after we moved to Indiana we continue to make the trek here to enjoy the wonderful cuisine as often as we can. The food is devine, they are not afraid to make the food as spicy as you like, the service is prompt and friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic date night or a family gathering. They also do carry out which we occasionally do on a movie night at home and they do a wonderful job of carefully boxing their food up. Even after the 35 minute drive home everything is wonderfully hot and enjoyable. If you're considering going here I strongly recommend it.
Good Chinese with buffet
Great as always
Friendly staff and delicious food,I wanna come back again
We're both pretty new to Indian food, but the wait staff were quite helpful when my boyfriend and I asked for an appetizer recommendation. We wanted to try something new. We had the veggie samosa and it was quite tasty. We also got the lamb tiki masala and chicken makhani with a side of naan. Everything was delicious and very filling. It had a lovely, quiet atmosphere and our glasses were never more than half empty. We'll definitely be going back to try more things! There's also a great Groupon available which is how we found this restaurant. (Apologies for the blurry picture.)
The Afghani Chicken in particular is fantastic, though even medium can be a little hot for those who don't enjoy spicy food. The staff is friendly, they do a quiet but healthy takeout business too. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside it is spacious and clean.
Authentic Indian cuisine.Staff super helpful and will tale time to help you find menu items you will love. The food is absolutely excellent. Seasoned perfectly - culinary heaven. This a regular stop for my family now
The buffet is so good, literally nothing bad on it. They keep a rotation of items from week to week so it changes up. Just during the hour I was there they constantly fill and refresh the items. Plus their rice pudding is super good. Thanks servers are always kind and they don't mind large groups or children.
I tried the lunch buffet on a Friday and I was very disappointed! All the dishes were distasteful and lacked any good flavor. The goat curry was the only dish that I found worth eating. None of the other dishes were worth commenting on. The buffet does not have very many dishes either. I wouldn't want to waste my time or my money on trying this restaurant again. I will say this, if you are not an Indian and have a very low tolerance to spicy food, you can try this place, the ambiance is better than other Indian restaurants.
Had a bad experience with biriyanis
Great service!! Spinach bread was delicious.. The chicken and lamb with rice was so good. Little on the spicy side for level 1 but it was still amaziing food. The goat was good to. Will be coming here again if i ever am in the area again!!
The food is delicious and the staff is great. Well worth a stop!
Love getting take away from here, always fresh and the meat is always super tender.
Great place, Great taste, great price. This place offers a variety of choices for Indian food lovers. The ambience is good and the staff very friendly. One of my favourite eatery in the town.
Love it!!!! Keep encouraging owner to open a second restaurant on the SW side of town.
Taste is just too good. vegetable biryani was amazing. Had dinner 5/6 days when i was in Louisville for some work and was never disappointed.
Went here for lunch and the food was absolutely dynamic! The staff was friendly and provided excellent customer service. They always made sure my water glass was full. All the items on the buffet were flavorful and greatly enhanced the lunch experience. Definitely a great place to eat lunch buffet and one of the top Indian restaurants in town.
Wonderful food. Service is superior! I keep coming back for more! Plus, they have coupons on their website for 'buy one entree, get one free.' Taj Palace has amazing, authentic Indian food at a great price!
I love Taj Palace. The flavors are many and delicious. Authentic menu and terrific, friendly staff. Always a great experience.
Terrible food and service
Awesome people. Really good food.
The best Indian restaurant in all of Louisville. Food is amazing, staff is so nice, and it's very clean! I don't go anywhere else!
Come hungry! My go-to Indian restaurant. And their "Special Pappadi Chaat" appetizer is one of my favorite foods on earth.
Great food and service
I love Indian food and we eat from a lot of places, but this will always be our favorite. Fantastic food, great service. The owner is always out greeting people and making sure they are enjoying the food. We order from here so often, all the employees know our order from memory. They even have really good cocktails! The decor is also very pretty.
Enjoyed the lunch buffet with my son. Many options both vegetarian and vegan.
This place is awesome, best buffet in Kentucky.
The vegetable pakora and tandoori chicken were delicious. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Great experience!
The best Biryani in town..
We had a fantastic dinner here. The meal was very authentic, the staff extremely accommodating and helpful, the atmosphere was very nice, and the portions were huge. Highly recommend this for some of the best Indian food I've ever had
This is my first ever review for the worst ever restaurant. I really dont understand how their website claims 4.2 rating ..[--] I traveled 2hrs to eat Indian food. It is the most disgusting food we ever had. The owner is all about making money and insulting the great indian food. I bet on one ever eats more than once in this place.I'm afraid that the frist timers will be scared to touch indian food again. In between they severed chicken65 has Gobi there is no difference between both them. Two of my friend never touched non- veg they yet 7 pieces. I consult them food is worst to improve it. The server replied everyone will appreciate our food and they liked it. It’s your problem it might not be your taste. I’m literally shocked to her reply. I learnt a lesson today to write reviews and help other travelers from such bad experiences.
Service is consistently fair to good, food is consistently stellar.
My family and I have been dining at Taj Palace from day one. The owners and staff are extended family. They've watched my children grow and now my grandchildren. The food is always fresh and flavorful. Too many folks confuse spicy with heat. Traditional Indian food is spicy, flavorful and very fragrant. Most of the dishes are very mild but very flavorful and delicious.
People who steal from others are not nice. Hope your business takes a nose dive. I will never eat there. Theives! Not Funny!
Great for groups. Excellent food but spicy, so it's not for everyone. Also includes an outdoor dining area.
I have been coming back to Taj Palace frequently for years. The food is consistently good, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. It continues to be a favorite of mine
Food was good. In desert the Mango kheer was a definite try.
Me and my friend searched for Indian restaurants and he found Taj palace Indian restaurant with 4+ star rating and we decided to try this once I will start with good things first as soon as we entered to this restaurant waitress received with smile I am very particular about ambience and this restaurant quit decent but food mainly veg pakoda was disgusting white rice, veg biryani rice was crispy. After trying all the food in buffet I felt like goat curry with naan was somehow better
Friendly personable staff, great tasting quality food, laid back but romantic
Very bad food... Do not go there ..
Excellent food. Good service. We ordered 10 different items and 3 different breads. They were all great. We had great interaction with three people on staff and they were friendly, and helpful.
Excellent Indian cuisine. Great staff.
I like the food here. I think for a general purpose Indian buffet type place it is above average.
We have enjoyed eating here maybe a dozen times. They provide the finest quality food. The service is very attentive and friendly. They have a large selection of curries including vegetarian options. The dining area is spacious and comfortable with typical decoration for a "nice" Indian restaurant. They have a very large selection of amazing Wines and Indian Beers too. This is in my opinion the best Indian restaurants in Louisville, KY.
If you love Indian food, put this spot toward the top of your list. Food is fantastic.
Delicious food, fantastic sauces, tremendous service!
It was wonderful treat when we went for lunch buffet. Taste is really good. Ambience is good with attentive staff. It is in my favorite list onwards. Must go!!
Really good. We love it. I order goat with bones in curry
The price for buffet lunch is very fair, and most of the food was delicious. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The desserts were pretty amazing, too!
Great lunch buffet. There are a variety of dishes to try. All of them very tasty and well prepared. Great service and atmosphere. This is our go to Indian restaurant.
Enjoyed reasonably priced buffet, wait staff was very attentive. I will definitely go back for the buffet and to try a dinner service.
Great food, friendly staff
Excellent food, the lamb Tikka Masala is out of this world good. Nice relaxed atmosphere, great service, nice slection of wine/beer/liquor. Couldn't recommend more!!
I enjoy everything about Taj Palace. Location, parking, servers and staff, price, and the food is delicious.
For our first time actually having Indian food it wasn’t bad. You can definitely taste the difference in the favors. i think some of the stuff was overpriced but for the most part i guess it’s expected. The nan is $4 for 2 of them. The food is enough to order just 1 plate & eat off each other.
One of the better traditional indian family restaurants. Enough said
Yummy food!
A very nice restaurant. The food is tasty (loved the Gobi Manchurian, a LOT). The portions are big, the restaurant is nice, clean and quiet. A good choice for a nice meal with the family or friends where you can have a conversation in a pleasant space.
The BEST Indian joint in town. Always fresh, great food. Service is always great as well, nice workers. Best time to go is for the lunch buffet, many great choices.
Great Indian buffet
One of the best Indian buffet's in Louisville
Great Buffett. All the food was fresh and delicious. A local favorite!
Alway great! Lots of tasty food, great prices, drinks are superb!
Great lunch buffet. While I'm thinking about it, why do Indian places server goat with knife like shards of bone? Seems like a gamble every time I eat it. But yet I still do...
Great food and atmosphere, great service!
Good Tikka marsala.
Good indian retaurent
Delicious food with a great selection. We were glad to have the choice of spiciness level. My kiddos especially loved the vegetable samosas. Each if our dishes were served on a serving plate with a serving spoon and the rice is served family style. This enabled us to share our meals and sample others. We look forward to visiting again soon!
Excellent northern Indian food and prompt, cheerful professional wait staff. Recommended!
I went to this restaurant with my friends. Everyone loved the amazing cuisine and the great service provided by the server. One thing we noticed was everyone were so passionate about the way they helped us with choosing our food. We no doubt loved the food. Time spent there was just unforgettable. Thanks to everyone who helped us with the great service. So, This place just deserves a respect with the great food they served. I would suggest everyone to at-least try their food, I promise you this will be your best moment when you take the first bite of the food to the moment when you leave the door.
As usual the food was great. The server followed our request for our spicy hotness of the food. This is my favorite Indian restaurant in Louisville.
Some of the dishes in the menu is really authentic!
I ordered the vegetarian dumplings dish, it had great sauce and the dumplings were delicious. However, the actual dumplings were very small themselves. Dish was mostly cream sauce.
Reasonably priced Mom and Pop Indian restaurant. The atmosphere is mediocre. The dishes are typical Indian fair, and the service is good. I have eaten here several times and have always had a positive experience.
We love eating authentic Indian food. That's what you get when eating here. We appreciate the attentive service and great food.
Excellent and fast service, most importantly the food is delicious. I love that I can pick how spicy or mild the food is.
We've been going to Taj Palace since it opened -- before, actually, since we were regulars at both previous locations when it went under the name India Palace (same management, though). The food here is consistently great. The lunch buffet is perhaps not the most extensive I've encountered, but it's always very good. The a la carte dinner menu is where the food here really shines. I've never had an entree, appetizer, side or dessert here that was not excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant but not fancy. They have accommodated large groups for us without difficulty, and the place is quiet enough for good conversation.
I go when ever I can I love this place
I always love to eat at Taj place because fresh food great taste
This restaurant has exceptionally friendly and attentive staff. My water glass was constantly filled and there was never a lull of service during our meal. In addition, the food is delicious! Our waiter recommended the pappadi chaat as an appetizer and it came out fresh, flavorful and very filling. They allow each guest to choose the spice level of their entree from a scale of 1-5, 1 being not spicy at all and 5 being the hottest flavor possible. I ordered the bhindi masala with a spice level of 5 and was very pleased with the extreme heat. I can't wait to return and try their other entrees!
very nice place. buffet was better than I expected.
Taj Palace is, hands down, one of the best Indian restaraunts in Louisville. The service is impeccable, the food is amazing, and the prices are completely reasonable (unless you order alcohol). The lunch buffet is great, but the real magic happens when you order off the dinner menu.
I'm not satisfied ,Biryani is not good. And service is good. It's not an Indian food. It's just like American style of cooking
Good selection on their buffet. Fast, friendly service.
Love their food! Very spicy, just like I like it.
Will visit again. Quiet, clean, great service, excellent food.
So good. We ate till we couldn't eat any more and there was still a lot left over. Loved the eggplant dish and the tanduri chicken was the best in town. So fresh.
Do you guys know that Mixing chicken curry with half cooked rice is not biryani
Good food with great service but need little improvement
The food is delicious and the staff is lovely. I highly recommend this Indian restaurant.
The staff is constantly checking to refill your drinks, which is great because this food is spicy. But I love spicy. Buffet style
Good food! Nice restaurant, nice people.
Tasty and no complaints.
I liked the environment, which is very lively. Stuffs are very friendly and helpful. Menus are easy to pick. Service is good. Foods does not taste as expected. I tried biryani and it does not taste like biryani. Price is little high if I compare with other restaurants, specially for meat curry items.
Delicious mushroom saag and baingain bartha. Lots of vegetarian choices.
Good service, very good food Great option if your on a diet.
Always great food and courteous staff. My favorite spot for Indian food in the city. I really like the setup of the restaurant as they put larger tables and groups, which tend to be louder, in a separate room and keep the smaller booths seperate and intimate. Recommend the chicken Tikka Kabab.
This is a review of the afternoon buffet. Decent food, nothing overly exciting. Like most Indian buffets the spice is pretty minimal, but this place was still a little on the bland side. Service was good, the restaurant was clean.
Taj Palace is one of our favorite restaurants to go. The food, ambience and service all are amazing. We went after a long time today and weren't disappointed at all. We ordered Aloo Tikki Chaat, Paneer Korma, Punjabi style chicken for hubby with bread basket and piping hot gulab jamun .. They always serve papad and rice with the food so didn't order those. Everything was finger licking good. Do happy that we went for dinner there on my birthday Eve.
Tandoori chicken and garlic naan were best. Beef kabab just ok. Nice ambiance.
We went there seeing the ratings, but were disappointed with taste of food. It’s an Americanized version of Indian food. Service was good though.
The best in Louisville, we travelled all the way 1 hour to this Great place for our dine out.
Delicious food, extremely friendly employees, and relaxed atmosphere. Overall, very highly satisfied. I would definitely recommend this location to others. Thank you for the amazing dining experience.
Food is bangin'
It's average restaurant.i tried buffet lunch only. Compare to other Indian restaurants, it's ok in taste but variety is very less. Try not to use washroom.
Excellent food, friendly service.
