I eat lunch at Sawasdee once a week. Absolutely everything they turn out is fantastic and the staff is excellent. My favorite dish is one you don't find on many Thai menus because it's really a Burmese or Northern Thailand dish: kao soi. It is absolutely fantastic. Sawasdee also has a surprisingly extensive wine list. You will not be disappointed.

My girlfriend and I have been coming here since '04. It's a "last meal" place for us. However, we have noticed some changes with certain recipes over time. The "thai hot" Thai Noodle Soup is not nearly as hot as it used to be. Also, last week when we went we both ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. It was vastly different. No peanut taste at all, and a different look and taste altogether. It wasn't bad, but not what we've become accustomed to enjoying. We'll always go back, Ty and Ning have become good friends, and have always treated us very well. But it's disconcerting when mainstays change. Change is not always good. That said, get on up there and have yourself a great meal.

There are a lot of Thai restaurants in the Indianapolis area, but without doubt, Sawasdee excels them all in really nailing what my taste buds are after. The first time I ever ordered from here, it was my first experience having Tom Yum soup, and theirs is incredibly good. The ambiance and service here are great. I have been here several times trying various dishes, and have been very pleased with all of them.

I have finally found a great place for thai. They also offer carry out that was really busy, also a good sign.

We won't be back. Several months ago we found this restaurant and loved it. Recently they have made changes to some of their dishes and they are not as good. We ordered crab rangoon and had to send it back twice. The owner's wife, Ning, came out and was arguing with me that it was not burnt and over cooked. She made a scene in front of everyone in the small restaurant telling me I was wrong and was very angry. We were polite the whole time. I have never been treated that way by a member of a restaurant especially the owner's wife and certainly will not be back in the future to experience it again.

This is, by far, my favorite spot for Thai food. I've been to several restaurants around town. However, I always find it worth the drive to eat here. Very friendly service, and excellent food. If you are new to Thai food, start with the Pad Thai. The Masaman Curry is another favorite. You really can't go wrong.

Was there on a Monday night, not too busy. Service was great, food was good. First time there and got the standby drunken noodles, easy to compare with other places. Spice options include mild, medium, hot, and Thai hot. Hot is definitely hot in my opinion, glad I didn't get the Thai spicy option.

My family loves this place. It's veggie friendly and has amazing food. Be careful you don't go Thai hot though lol. The food is really well prepared and flavored. They have a fantastic selection for vegans and veggies which primarily why we come / go. I don't mind paying higher prices when the food is good and realistically I don't think their prices are too high - I think I just order a lot of food it's so good. Anyway it's a must if you enjoy great Thai food and good service.

Best Thai restaurant in the area. Those in the know, know where to go. Its a far trip for me, but worth it. Wish they'd open a 2nd restaurant on the West Side. Give it a try sometime, I recommend Massuman curry dishes, but explore freely, you won't be disappointed.

Favorite Indy Thai place! Curry chicken is excellent - get it spicy and clear your sinuses! Pad Thai with Shrimp is big enough for at least two meals. Tom Yun Gai is a savory blend of veggies and chicken over rice. All stellar options. Every entree comes with 2 of 3 -soup, salad, or spring rolls...stuffed when you walk out. Great value!

I was surprised by the shabby appearance of this restaurant in a dated strip mall, especially because this place was recommended to us by a couple whose standards are high. The rug was sticky, the floor had food and paper strewn over it and the bathroom needs an overhaul. I’ve had Thai curry in several cities over the years from NY to Boston and this sauce was different. Instead of the creamy thickness of coconut milk, the sauce was the consistency of Manhattan clam chowder: red, spicy and thin. The flavor was good, however, just too spicy. (I asked for medium spicy.) My husband liked his pad Thai. The chicken of the Chicken Satay was fresh and delicious. Perhaps it was because our time there was late on a busy Father’s Day and they had no time to clean up but it wasn’t worth the drive or the wait for the food.
