I've always had a pleasant experience here. Food is okay. Nothing out of the ordinary. Service is good and staff is friendly. The atmosphere is pretty cool. Feels authentic. I would go back. The three star rating is based solely on the fact that there are better Mexican restaurant choices around.

I think I was expecting something else. The place just seemed dead. The TV's at the bar didn't work except one. The food was okay but I've had way better. The margarita was pretty good though. I wish they would have paid their cable bill.

My wife and I went there for dinner last night and it was not a resounding experience. When we walked into the front door the lobby was empty with only a coupe paying for their meal. There was no one taking care of them and no one at the reception stand. I should say that the place was moderately busy. We stood there for a while with no response to us or the other couple. Finally an employee approached and took care of the paying couple, still no acknowledgement of us. After a few more minutes went by the receptionist finally came up and took us to table. The receptionist literally drop the menus on the table and walked away. No waiting for us to sit down and hand the menus to us, like almost every good restaurant will do, it was like we had bothered her for being there. After that it took a little while for a server to show up but when she did she was very polite and professional. We ordered drinks and the server brought my wife’s drink but did not bring mine. I thought that to be odd. The serve said she still had to get mine from the bar. She provide us with salsa and chips but the salsa seemed like they went over to Walmart and bought some jarred salsa and the chips were stale. The server came back with our meals but still no drink for me. She did finally bring me my drink. My meal was the Burrito Maya and it was more beans and rice then anything else. There was a small burrito filled with beef underneath all the beans and rice. There was some lettuce and sour cream up top to. It was not bad but not the best. My Wife had the Fiesta taco salad and she said it was good. So that was a plus. Out of the our experience I can’t say it was the worst but not the best either. So 3 stars is all we can give. I really do believe that he management should look into the way people are greeted and brought to the table. I thought that was just really rude.

First visit to this store. It was a Cheeseburger In Paradise before Riviera Maya. The remodel looks great. The staff was professional & friendly. Huge selection on the menu. Food was on time & correct. Those are the hard facts. Now for the opinions. I got Chimichanga Acapulco with steak, chicken & shrimp. It was some of the best casual Mexican food Ive had in all of Indianapolis. I have a new favorite Mexican place!

I went here with my wife and kids. Despite not being busy, the service was slow and the food was lukewarm bland Americanized Mexican. Also my margarita was painfully sweet and didn't seem to contain any alcohol, as if they just poured me a glass of undiluted margarita concentrate.

Best tasting mexican restaurant in the area. Been to several different places but this is the tops! Friendly staff, food was piping hot and the fresh jalepeno slices (.99) were the topping for my Fajita Taco Salad.

Service was terrible asked two people for a high chair and nobody bothered to get me one. Had to do it myself then asked for a box and had to go back and get that for myself too. Are waiter didn't check on us after we got are dinner no refills on drinks or anything.

Really like this place. The servers are almost always really friendly and attentive. And the food is really tasty. Their margaritas (house) are very good, too. The decor has it's own stories and is lovely and eclectic. A little out of the way but worth it!

This is a great Mexican Restaurant with very attententive staff. The atmosphere was very welcoming. The great tasting food was made to order in perfect timing. The waitress was very good at checking on our table and making sure we had everything we needed. Our group had a fabulous time dining here and will definitely be back for another great evening!

I like the set up and location. However service and organization of staff leaves a lot to be desired. My order came out wrong and then it was made wrong a second time before it got to me, then the 3rd dish was brought to me it had the wrong sauce so hot I barley eat it, i just ate it because my friends had been done eating their food for at least 20 minutes and I was hungry. Staff was all over the place but were constantly in each others way. The time it took to get drinks or be able to order took way to long. I heard from a couple people that it is not normally like that but I was really disappointed.

A friend of mine and I just got back from here. We each ordered chimichangas, and both were great and came out really fast. We were very surprised. After this everything went down hill. Josie was our "waitress", she did absolutely nothing besides take our order and give us a check. Our food was finished for almost five minutes before we ever saw her again. The service here at riveria Maya is AWFUL!! this was at 9 at night with few people in dining room and folks still coming in. Josie needs much improvement and so does every other wait staff member here. No one asked how the meal was, or if anything was of concern. Very poor service from everyone, EXCEPT THE FOOD.

The worst food I have ever had to date. I was really looking forward to a great meal. The kids got a hamburger that smelled rancid. My burrito was bland and flavorless, and the enchiladas were filled with hamburger and no cheese. Over $40 for lousy food that we left over half not eaten.

Wait staff is slow and they're not busy. The food had no flavor unless you put hot sauce on it. The dish I ordered looked like it was sitting in a pool of water. I recommend going some where else.

The food was really good, and it was served promptly. Everyone was professional and friendly. Despite the parking lot looking awfully crowded for a Friday night at 6pm, our wait was only five minutes long, and there was enough space for people to either stand or sit as they waited. They seem to manage things pretty efficiently. I was very impressed and thought the new location was an improvement over the prior one on 116th street in all facets. I recommend this place if you want a nice casual night out and enjoy a wide variety of Mexican food.

This is the BEST Mexican food I've had in a long time! We've been here half a dozen times in the past couple of months, and I've tried 5 different meals. All were delicious! If you like ceviche, theirs is amazing! It's not on the menu, but they have it. The beer specials are terrific, the regular margarita is pretty typical, and a good deal on special. The service is very good, and the staff is friendly. Josie has waited on us several times, and she's fantastic. Great atmosphere too!

We went to Riviera Maya with high expectations on Cinco de Mayo. We waited 40 mins which was fine because we knew it was going to be busy that day. Once we were seated, our server did not even come to get drink orders for 20 mins. Then, we waited another 30 mins to even place our order. I had to go find someone else to find our server. Our food was just okay. Nothing special. We won't be back and will go to another mexican restaurant.

I sat at the bar. Place looks great. Great menu selection. I ordered chicken tortellini soup and a ground beef burrito w/queso sauce. The food was amazing. The margaritas are worth the trip alone.

This is a fairly good Mexican food restaurant. It is newly renovated. They moved here from 116th street about a year ago. The location is beautiful, clean, and the furniture is very original. I go here about 1-2x a week since I work nearby. The fajitas are delicious. The lunch portion is generous for the price. I usually have great servers but I have had a couple indifferent ones. My small annoyances are a couple of things. The hostess and cashier are not very friendly. I feel like I am bothering them. The other one is the smell. There is a weird cleaning / chemical smell. You will smell it right when you walk in. The bathroom smells like it as well, just way more concentrated. I go hear often and will continue to do so. For Mexican in Hamilton County, I recommend it.

My friends and I (six of us) went for dinner on a weekday around 8:30pm. We got seated promptly. The food was excellent, very tasty. The salsa (with chips) was chunky and very good. We also requested some very hot sauce, if they had any; they did and we mixed it with the salsa, to meet individual taste. All of us enjoyed the chips, salsa and the food. Service was very good, frequently checking to see if we had any other need. Very happy with the service. Service was with a smile; it makes a difference! The restaurant was spacious and clean. It might help to light up the roadside name marker so it is easy to find the entrance. I would recommend others to visit Riviera Maya.

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Vivid colors add to the ambience. The background music was a good volume, filling the restaurant, but allowing talk to happen. As expected, the chips and Salsa were brought out and filled as neccessary. Our drinks never got below half before being refilled. The food we ordered was hot and very tasty. The layout allows for one or two people up to a fairly large group.

My wife and I met another couple for dinner at Riviera Maya Mexican restaurant. We waited for more than 15 minutes after being seated and then we finally had to get up from our table and ask if we could give our drink orders. Even after that we had to place our drink orders at the bar ourselves. We felt like we were bothering the help just by being there. Service was absent for most of the evening. It took us over 2 hours to get served and finish our meals. No wonder the lobby was standing room only. The service is SUPER SLOW and not friendly. Food was ok, but not worth the wait or the unfriendly atmosphere.

Don't waste your time or money here. We went to this Mexican Restaurant for the first time and I was not impressed. They basically took an old Cheeseburger in Paradise and turned it into a Mexican Restaurant. The service was lousy. I had to wait what seem like forever for more chips and salsa. Forget about the drinks too. It takes way too long to get your food. They would not even honor my coupon they sent through the mail. It was the whole reason I came in the first place. The restaurant is so cheap that they wouldn't even knock off $5 off the meal. The meal ended up costing us $40. There was nothing fancy about the food there either. I could have gotten the same thing at another Mexican Restaurant for less. The restrooms are horrible. The toilet wouldn't even flush right. Don't worry I will never be going back there again. There is too much competition and I have ate at far better Mexican Restaurants and they actually honor their customer's coupons. All I got to say is False Advertising. Horrible place to eat. I will not be back.

Been plenty of times, but last night my whole family got food poisoning. I ordered the poblano enchiladas, wife ordered fajitas, and we had a side of cheese with our chips. Please look into this. I loved coming here, but we won’t be able to for a while because of this.

We came in with a group of 13. Orders taken, drinks delivered, and food delivered all relatively timely due to our size. The food was excellent, not mushy or watery or flavorless the way some Mexican restaurants are. It's only 4 stars because our check came really really late, but I'm honestly not sure if that's due to them, us as a large group, or possibly short staffed. Regardless a few of us stayed over and our waiter was super nice and kept taking care of us, making me think earlier we were just real large. Overall, would DEF return between our options in the area! Highly recommend! A smidge pricier ($14 for steak rather than $10-12 in some places) but worth it.

Awesome place!!! The food is fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and the service great. Very good margaritas! The last time we were there, someone was playing light, acoustic music live. There is outdoor seating for warm weather. It can get very packed on the weekends, complete with hit-and-miss service, and that's the sole reason for my 4-star rating rather than 5 stars. Highly recommended place, especially during a week night.

Went here to meet old co-workers and the service was terrible. One person had to ask for her water 4 times to get her drink. The food was bland and overcooked. The server asked me if I wanted regular or tall on a Tito's and cranberry I said didn't matter would drink either. The bill came and they charged me for doubles and said I ordered doubles. I explained tall is not a double it means more mixer not more booze. Management didn't seem to act like they knew what was doing or even cared. Enjoy your money you made from me I will never go back.

Y’all this place has lost their touch when they moved from downtown Fishers to the old Cheeseburger in Paradise building. Service is NOT what it used to be and quite dissapointing. My family has been to the new location only a few times since they moved and we always leave wondering why we keep going back!!!! Tonight my fiancé and I went and were very disappointed. First off, the place was freezing cold my toes were numb when we left. We left our winter coats on while we ate it was so cold. Even the receptionist and cashier had space heaters next to them it was so cold. I bluntly asked, “you guys keep this place cold, don’t you?” And the cashier said that they don’t turn the heat up and she doesn’t know why but did apologize. Then as my fiancé and I sat there eating our chips and salsa waiting on our food we watched several other tables get their food before us after being seated several minutes after us. Our waiter was no where to be found. We waited and waited and eventually asked another waiter if he could get our waiter. The waiter asked if we were ready for the bill and we were completely appalled because we NEVER even gotten our food! Frantically they ran and got our food and apologized. We paid our bill in full and left. This was the worst experience we have ever had here and not really sure if we will ever be back....makes me sad because we used to LOVE Riviera Maya. It was one of our favorites! Not anymore!!!!

Just left. Booth I was seated in was freezing. Food was luke warm and bland. Waiter was so punctual you couldn't even look at the menu before he wanted your order. Cashier was extremely unfriendly. Not their usual. Not sure what happened when they moved but they need to return to there old ways or I'm done.

I always would go to this place at the old location, the food is amazing and USE to have great customer service. Went back today to their new location and the service was horrible. The hostess took our to go order (2 bean dip, 1 salsa, 1 gauc) and she had the Gaull to refuse to give us more than 1 bag of chips for the whole order. Wasn’t friendly compared to how everyone else at the old location. We walked out with no food and most likely won’t be back.

Food is decent...nothing great but the service is horrible, spent about 15 minutes after I was seated to get a drink, another 30 minutes to receive my food, and then 45 minutes waiting on the check....i had to actually track them down for this.... food wasnt good enough to warrant a 2nd trip ohh and they actually charge you if you ask for a hotter salsa

Lunch is always quick, good, and hot. Staff is attentive, fast, and friendly. Cold and salsa are great. Location is a little hard to find, as it is near hotels and business offices.
