REVIEWS OF Petite Chou Bistro & Champagne Bar IN Indiana

Came on a beautiful afternoon sat outside, great for people watching. Both of us had breakfast items. Both delicious. Our waitress was the only disappointment of time there, very cold and non engaged. But the rest of the staff were very friendly and outgoing.

Joe Pigg

The food here is phenomenal! I've heard about this place for a few years but haven't had the chance to go. I went on a Monday for lunch and there wasn't much of a crowd. I had a crepe and a salad both were very good.

Darrell Moss

We had a fantastic experience. The staff was great and the service was impeccable. Our meal was excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly . We will definitely be back and highly recommend this Broad Ripple restaurant.

Monica Holt

Can't say I loved the menu, but the atmosphere was nice

Ben Houk

Fabulously French inspired fare with a local flare. Cafe atmosphere with a casual, romantic ambiance. Try it - you won't be sorry.

Sophia Khan

Best breakfast spot in Indianapolis. The broken yolk sandwich is amazing! They have a lavender mimosa that is unreal.

Rayna Coe

Delicious, though a little pricey compared to surrounding restaurants. Going back for their breakfast/brunch, as the omelet was fantastic.

Macy Stephan

Great brunch spot in Broad Ripple if you are looking for great food, helpful staff, reasonable prices, and a quaint atmosphere.!

Suzanne Nutt

This is a unique and excellent find for friends or family to hangout together while having top-notch food and coffee. They have outdoor seating that has been "gardened" to give a slightly more private feel than some restaurants that practically put you in the street with theirs. If you are a bit "choosy" (or snobby) about your food, this is a superb choice for you! I have only had their breakfast items and, although it's an easy $12 for an omelet, it is a true delight to have arugula, goat cheese, portabella mushrooms, spinach, etc. as choices to include. They serve StumpTown coffee with 2 regular choices and 1 decaf. The ambience is a 10 and so is the food! One of our top 5 go-to places in the city for weekend breakfast after a walk on the Monon!

Brett Rathmell

Great quality international food with french flair at affordable prices

Mia Jun

Crepes and omelette are good!

Kathy Brown

Quaintn little place. Don't like the self serve coffee though. Otherwise it's a great place.

Sam Criss

Fantastic brunch. Started with a cheese plate and then I had the broken yolk sandwich with bacon. Delicious. Friendly service and small but quaint dining room.

Linda Smith

Always delicious! Awesome service

Amanda Hunt

After coming here for years and loving all the food items, this was the first time I was disappointed in the menu. The menu item change of the croque monsieur from a traditional French sandwich with the cheese on top to paying the same price for a half of ham and cheese sandwich was not a welcomed change. The menu should reflect what you are getting and a big part of that is through the name. Don't call it a croque monsieur, when it's a fancy sandwich. On a positive note, the change to the sourdough bread was good. My family has loved coming here for the Parisian nostalgia, especially after the remodel from the flood.

Jami Myers

First time here. They were setting up some lovely winter decor. Our waitress was great and attentive. Food however for the price was disappointing. We ordered the croque madame and french onion soup. Soup was okay, 3/4. The croque madame had a twist that just didn't work. The bread was very tasty, I could eat it all day. The ham though was cut too thick and some bits were hot while other bits were cold and hard. The egg was cold and rubbery. I was a bit off put when I asked my waitress for sauce mornay as I thought it had accidently been left off. Apparently the chef was insulted as we could hear him complaining from the kitchen. I probably should have forgone it anyways as it was horribly gritty. Depsite the not so great experience, I think I would try it again. At peak times when food is being prepared constantly, it may be better. If I get the chance, I will review again.

Kenneth Martinez

Food was great, fresh ingredients in the omelets

Jason Haines

Wanted this place to be great and it could have been but service was sub par. Very long wait for the food and when it arrived it was cold. Then didn't do anything about it when we said something. Don't seem to understand the timing of appetizer and main course either - finally get one and trying to eat that and they bring you the next course when you barely started the other one. Unacceptable at these prices. Unlikely to return.

Shea Borton

The service and staff are great! However, they charged me $22 for an egg sandwich consisting of JUST egg, bacon, and avocado. I only had an Americano for my drink. $22 for an egg sandwich and espresso diluted with water!

Mark Long

Great food! Great atmosphere!

Audrea Diliberto

Great wine list, super friendly staff and those duck fat fries.... Oh they are so good.

Alyson Swingley

Great staff, great food, great place.

Adrienne Marean

The bread, french fries and service were good, but the food and drinks were poor. My friend ordered the risotto - it was porridge. I ordered the mussels mariniere and only got cold mussels - no sauce etc. My other friend got the steak frites and he said it was ok but not great. The steak did look perfectly cooked to medium rare. I was disappointed that the server saw that the risotto girl and I hadn’t eaten even an eigth of our food and didn’t ask why or take anything off the bill - partially our fault as we didn’t send it back and we should of because we went hungry. I’d never go back here unless I wanted just the fries with the dijonaise. Too sad because the restaurant was beautifully set and I was excited for it.

Susan Burton

Delicious! Great service!

Chris Barrick

Very busy place as expected on a Saturday morning. The restaurant is very small and very loud with all the chatter. For some reason, on top of that, there were blasting awful electronic dance music. Could not hear my wife. Also the self serve coffee bar is a terrible idea. Having to walk back to the table was an obstacle course. When I sat down to drink the coffee, of course it was tepid. An awful experience in dining.

Shane Dodge

Always great food and great sevice!

Brian Bigelow

This place is always excellent! It is a great French bistro style restaurant. Outstanding food and drink (cocktails, wine and craft beer) selection.

Molly Butters Hale

Best/only French cuisine in Indianapolis. The duck fat fries c'est magnifique! We love the patio seating.

Jered Brent

Can't go wrong with the broken yolk sandwich.

Michael Arbuck

Really nice place! Great coffee and service. The croque madame was delicious!

Andrew Coomer

Tasty french cuisine, try the berry crêpes.

Rebecca Townsend

Good people, good food. Fancy, but comfortable. I enjoy eating here by myself or with friends!

Arianne Campbell

Sad i didn't discover this sooner! Randomly decided to walk around broad ripple for a breakfast spot one saturday and found this tucked away. Everything was phenomenal, from the ambience and cleanliness of the establishment, to the superb service of my server Katie and all the support staff (bussers, hostess, other servers, and the friendly manager I asked to speak with to relay my positice experience), to the RIDICULOUSLY delicious food and fresh ingredients!!!! Only downside is they are strictly an indianapolis establishment with related restaurants around the area but none where I am moving back to. At least not yet. Unfortunate but now I know where I'm going when I am in town on the future (and will definitely make it a point to visit then again before i move).

E J

As always this place exceeded its expectations. It's amazing. The place to go. Service is tremendous

Leena Park

Love the harrisons crepe !! Had a long piece of hair in the first dish but the server took care of it immediately and brought a new one pretty quickly.

Tim Hayes

Service is perfect, food is very good, they have great champagne and coffee as well.

Spez M

Good brunch place.

Sherry Weinstein

Always a favorite place! Lovely French breakfast/brunch food and champagne cocktails. Duck fat French fries are insanely good! Very unique menu, coffee while you wait, and welcoming to all!

Tyni Birdsong

Its so quaint and cute! The food was surprisingly delicious and the music playlist was awesome! I went for lunch with some friends from college and it was a nice trip down memory lane!

Megan Westcott

The food takes a little bit to get there but the taste is good. The service is friendly, but the restaurant is usually busy. Omelettes are said to be gluten free and they offer gluten free bread.

Alex

Honestly we expected more from a place with such high rating. Ordered an avocado toast and for the price it was something we could make at home easily... Compare those toasts they make at Garden table, for example. Crepes came out cold so I had to ask to re-make them again. Overall food took almost an hour to get prepped - that’s for a crepe and an avocado toast while the bistro wasn’t 100% full.

Fritz Post

A delightful small French bistro in central Indianapolis with an intimate atmosphere. It's always a good omen when my dining companion has difficulty deciding what to order when there are so many appealing choices. Should we start with dessert? which entree? Our shared late lunch consisted of onion soup gratinee, croque madame, duck fat pomme frites and pots de creme. All were classically french dishes which were carefully prepared and nicely presented. The fries were served with moutarde and tomato on the side! The beverage list was complementary. We were waited upon by Mike who was very attentive and gregarious. We will return in the future should our travels take us to Indianapolis, but we might dine at Cafe Patachou instead! (Affiliated)

Shelby Smitherman

EXCELLENT. Ask for Carrie--she is a great waitress. Have eaten there many times. Their chicken salad tartine is GREAT.

CC Bram

Disappointed at one of Martha's restaurants. The Bibb Salad for $9.95 have 5 leaves. The waitress just said that's way it's made. My Omelette du Nuit was flavorless. We won't be back to this restaurant. Nice setting near the canal. Ticket#10105 on 07/28/17 @ 9:42.

Ben Pearson

Very similar to patachou, but not as busy. Crepes are good.

Melanie Pugh

After a friend introduced me to this little gem in Broadripple, I can't seem to stop going! It's a perfect place to meet up with a friend, and still really nice if you like to dine solo. I love the atmosphere and the food selection has something for whatever mood you're in. Definitely recommend!

Patrick Stoffregen

I've been trying out the savory crepes recently. The Benedict Crepe is mind-meltingly good! Coffee and service are always top-notch as well. Their patio is equipped with space heaters, and they're nice to dogs!

Daniel Flores

This was a great place to grab lunch. The food was great and made fresh. Some of the best ingredients and the price reflects the quality. They are pet friendly too.

Todd Riester

Great brunch spot in Broad Ripple if you are looking for great food, helpful staff, reasonable prices, and a quaint atmosphere.!

Jude Bill

Great atmospere, long time for food to come, ordered sausage and got lamb sausage, not what I was expecting, a heads up would have been nice .

Lalita Amos

Another excellent visit. We dined alfresco and enjoyed fresh air, beautiful scenery, and a great meal.

Righty Diggs

Always tastey, hot, and fresh. Love this location!!

Anastasia French

Delicious

Shannon Arndt

Our first breakfast was a failure. This place saved the day. Great service, amazing drinks, delish crepes.

Jennifer Hein

Roasted carrot soup, gotta luv it Nice salads 2

Tony Board

Great food. Server very friendly and helpful.

Brian McQueen

Fun. Another offering from the Cafe Patachou folks. My wife and I went here for breakfast and loved it. It has a great atmosphere and awesome food. I love the real cup for coffee where I can refill it when I like. That coffee bar is perfect for me. I had an omelette. My wife had french toast. We split each others and both said something like, "oh wow that is good."

Axel Edgren

Great omelettes, greater staff, desserts are the best.

Ramona Holt

Excellent Lavender mimosas

John Prah

Petite Chou and Patichu are in a class of their own. I have never seen it's like in my travels around the country. The attention to detail in all things is unmatched.

Hilarnie Banawa

Went for Devour Indy with some of my girlfriends and we enjoyed it a lot! Would totally go back again!

Doug Highfill

Food was the best! Staff was excellent

Ashlie Miller

Great spot for brunch and groups! Loved it!

Lori Janssens

Excellent service. Very cozy. French onion soup was super delicious. Lobster bisque was devine. Cocktails were good. Burger & fries were hearty & decadent. Mussels were not the best I've had, however the soup at the bottom of the bowl was the best mussels broth I've ever had. 9 out of 10 would go again.

Darren Fox

This is the best restaurant in Indy for a date night. It makes the best burger in the city, has a great wine list, and serves my favorite meal: chicken paillard.

Betsy Fish

This is an amazing snail approved bistro in the Broad Ripple area! The food was amazing, service good. Great place for brunch. Definitely will be back!

James Theesfeld

Not what we were expecting. Food is good but French in the sense that they use French words to describe things. You can get a good steak and fries anywhere. It's also a lot more casual that we were expecting. However the crepes are delicious. Definitely a good breakfast spot.

Eric Olson

Had a great breakfast here when I was in Indy -- excellent coffee and the croque madame was delicious. Overwhelming but delicious. They use smoking goose meats and the quality of the meat really shone through.

Zach Sundstrom

Had a morning meeting, but my colleague had to cancel. I have had a cup of coffee and told the server what happened. She said no problem and the coffee is on the house.

Andrew Fairbanks

Great French bistro with a great atmosphere. Definitely coming back.

Katie Woods

Great food and drinks, but the atmosphere felt overly posh. Overly pricey for what you get.

Mary Lea McTurnan

Everything is delicious, sophisticated and comfortable at once-if you want the best hamburger you've ever had, pony up rheu$12 ans enjoy!!!

Angela Moore

Best food! Great atmosphere:)

Bobbi Riesebeck

Get some fancy font.... Call it aioli instead of mayo on the menu...... And then add some flannels/man buns. I don't mean to take it out on this restaurant personally, so many restaurants now a days follow this cookie cutter pretentiousness without having the service/food to back it up. Honestly the eggs and bacon I had wasn't bad .... But the price is [falsely] justified only because of the feeling of being upscale without ACTUALLY being upscale. I mean I have to get up and get my own coffee for crying out loud! Either lower the prices or quit putting lipstick on a hog (but like I said... The bacon was good! Just not for $14 and for self serve coffee)

Tiger Mastro

Visiting my brother, we dined here one evening last month. We chose to eat inside as it was a bit cool. We were treated to a spectacular evening of excellent food, service and ambiance. Bro talked me in to trying mussels for the first time in my life. Verdict: very delicious. I think this place makes mussels as good as any place could ever make them, the sauce was incredible.

Lexi Hiland

Had breakfast here this morning and their food is the perfect amount and feels like it's better for me than some alternative breakfast restaurants. Their outdoor seating is really nice and they were even testing the heaters today for when it gets cooler outside. A++

Cristina Davis

I wanted to like this restaurant, but to me it was just okay. For one chicken crepe, pricing was high and not much chicken inside. Filling was almost too rich and overwhelming for dish. Steak au poivre had a lot of grissle that should have been trimmed prior to cooking. Dessert, pavlova, was good with lots of berries and lemon curd for balance.

Mike Mazonnie

Eat here all the time .. it is excellent ! Love the decor and always has good music and sound to top of the delicious food .! Large portions for those hungry!

Michaela Mintch

Food and service were great. I do have one complaint. I understand not having plastic straws for sustainability reasons. But to ask if I want to purchase a metal straw to drink my $10 Bloody Mary that is too thick to drink with the crushed ice is a little ridiculous. It would be nice if you provided the straws and just washed them instead of us keeping them or change the ice for beverages that are hard to drink with the ice.

Russell Evans

Great service and top end food.

Ivette Arosemena

Absolutely great! Love it!

Jessie Browne

Good, but pricey. Nice place for a special date night or a celebration. We enjoyed the patio and a light dinner.

Teresa Powell

I ttuly love this place

Marcus Holman

Romantic atmosphere and good food.

Alex Wash

All of the food is in point. Screened outdoor patio with heaters is a great idea. Coffee bar has great coffee.

Ciara Faulkner

Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. On a first name basis—absolutely love this place.

Debbie F

LOVE, LOVE, Love this place! Intimate settings, Best Breakfast in the City (must try other foods someday). Super Delicious cocktails! Excellent, friendly & helpful staff.

Ahmer Murad

Went for this Valentine's Day dinner and had their Mussels, Mushroom Duxelles, Roasted Chicken Provençal, and Halibut from the Valentine's Day menu - appetizers were great but both mains were a little over-seasoned and a little over-done. We had the pavlova for dessert, which was delicious, despite being overly sticky in texture.

Kimberly Matthews

Great vibe! Pet friendly patio area. Coffee was amazing! We had the Ora King smoked salmon, omelets and crepes. Food was excellent to say the least. Omelets super fluffy! Bread was chewy yet soft. The salmon was to die for! Definitely going back!

Tijuana Jones

Food, average...Drinks, excellent!!

Ethan Hudson

Food was good and not too pricy. Taste wasn't that memorable. Pictured: egg de triomphe

E.P. Sidwell

I go here almost weekly. Some of my favorite food in Indy.

Jane Smith

I love coming here with my family. The food is always incredible, with plenty of selections if you are watching your calories. I've always had excellent service here.

Dennis Grishin

Seriously love this place. Everything we get is amazing. Pictured is the Chopped Salad. Perfect mix of ingredients, dressing, etc. Wait staff is amazing, knowledgeable, and friendly. My family had the sandwiches and omelettes - so yum! We went for Mother’s Day (a mini family tradition at this point) and had to wait at least an hour and a half. The wait was made better with great weather outside and free coffee, though, and this place is so worth it!

Tammy Anderson

Very nice and friendly staff. The food was amazing. My daughter took me here for Mothers day Lunch Monday.

Jackie Fleenor

The food was amazing and they have the best baguettes.

Nick Watt

Very good brunch! Will bring you back to life if you need it. Best Bloody Mary I've ever had.

Inna Helmer

They are good, as usual

Carey Cseszko

Love Petite Chou! They have a great Steak Frites and today I tried the lobster bisque for the first time - absolute bliss. Always a great wine menu. It is, however, pretty pricey, so be prepared.

Rita R

Great food. Very nice staff. Got served quickly. Coffee was scrumptious too. Nice portions and fair prices. TY !

Stephanie Fenton

Everything on their menu is superb! Dog friendly patio, too

Tony Gribbins

Good food, awesome champagne cocktails. If it sounds interesting order it.

Diana McGill

A little busy but got right in. Omelettes are wonderful as well as the bloodymary. Service quick

Joe R

One if our very favorite places in all of Indy. Sweet crepes for the kids and broken yolk sandwiches for me. Go early on Sunday to beat the crowd.

Cori Chase

Love this place. I work nearby so I eat there fairly frequently. The broken yolk burger is the best thing to ever happen to me. Get it, you won't regret it. Honestly you can get anything there and you won't regret it!

Aaron Kleyla

In my opinion, it is hard to beat any of the Patachou restaurants, and this Broadripple location is no different. I loved enjoying a coffee and breakfast out on the patio. Service was top notch, as always.

J P

Petit Chou has been a neighborhood favorite of ours for years. Delicious, fresh food every time. Tasty cocktails, too. Don’t leave without getting a sweet crepe to share! Love this Broad Ripple spot.

Lucas Lindsey

This is probably my favorite place to get brunch with friends. There is an intimate atmosphere, and the food is excellent. I usually get an omelette. What kind really varies. I have never had bad service there. In fact, we were those people that stayed until closing last time I was in (I always feel bad being that person because I know it can be challenging to a servers patience) and the people who work there continued to do an excellent job down to the last moment.

Ben Jakubowski

Excellent service. Food was delicious and well presented.

Christina Marsh

Always good food

Nelson B. Romero

Food and service was good, nice outdoor seating

Jenna Spurrier

All of the servers are always very friendly. We've never had a bad meal. Indoor and outdoor seating and decent parking options.

Yury Maslikhov

Really great stuff. All waiters and hostess are very friendly and highly professional but quality of the product is unacceptable. Cheese plate has a lot of bread, and five small pieces of cheese. Really small, not enough to share it with my wife! $18 for 2 oz??? Really? Foie torchon is too salty. We even can't fill any other taste or eat one more piece of it. Sent back to kitchen. Bebe burger was great, onion soup good, not something special. Kids Mac n cheese very delicious. Finally - not enough good for this price.

Marie Krulewitch-Browne

Food was delicious but took a little time, so don't come in a rush!

Meghana Kamble

Great cozy place to spend your Sunday mornings

Patrick Gray

Great little restaurant..

Kim Krumel

Little pricey for adequate food and having to get your own coffee.

joe smith

Really, an awesome brunch. We didn't leave a crumb on our plates. Cinnamon French Toast, Avocado Toast, and Buckweat smoked chicken/ asparagus crepes. Couldn't be better; including top of line gormet coffee! It was our first time passing through the Broad Ripple area. We plan on returning.

Vilija Jozaitis

The drinks were pretty good (fruit purée with champagne and some strange cocktail), the skirt steak with the sauce and fries were really tasty. The salmon with a vegetable compote was not a type of taste I would usually prefer, but I was impressed with an explosion of new flavors!! The blueberry crepe was really good, too, but it could have used some cheese or unique flavor. I would recommend that. I liked the artistic feel. I wish the service was faster (it felt like what I imagine a restaurant in actual France would be like). We would definitely go back if we went to Indianapolis again. Oh, and the surrounding neighborhood is hip, fun, and safe!

Alex Grant

This is a nice place for brunch. They have good service and menu options. Indoor is nicely air conditioned but there are outside seats as well. Dogs are very welcome, so during earlier hours you are likely to be around some folks in workout clothes walking dogs.

Chris Morgan

I really enjoy coming back here. Food and service are always great.

Brenda Steckler

Excellent food!

Margot Larew

Ungodly overpriced. $4 for a single slice of toast, $15 for 3 pieces of cheese totalling about 1 ounce combined accompanied by 6 almonds and a tablespoon of honey, $9 for a plate of lettuce. $$ is not an accurate rating. The food is good, but much of it is overpriced.

EJ LaFleur

Beautiful atmosphere. Great romantic place. Good food. Friendly staff.

B La

Delicous and satisfying soup/salad lunch.

Josh Lee

Any restaurants run by patachu tend to not have alot of fllavor considering the owner doesn't consider herbs and spices ingredients ( she says "we let the ingredients speak for themselves" meaning they let the quality of food present all of the flavor) which they do use the best and healthiest food but that doesn't mean it has to have little flavor because you can't season or.spice anything. But the hangover crepe has plenty of.flavor hence the bacon. Basically anything w ham or bacon tastes good but everything else i would only call decent because ots bland. Another weird thing is they serve cold lobster in their lobster bisque which was awkward lol. They think the heat of the soup will heat it up but that is not what I experienced 2 out of 2 times. Staff here is great tho!!!

Dick Luchtman

What an incredible experience. To say the food was gourmet would be an understatement. Many of your favorites presented in inventive ways. I have a fraternity brother and his wife who drive from Louisville to Indianapolis JUST to bask in the Petite Chou Zen and food. I absolutely recommend it, absolutely!

Mike Ehringer

Fresh and Delicious Food!

Chris Malhoit

Service, cuisine, ambiance - five stars! Definitely get the 5 cheese tray and the French onion soup.

Sherri Lynn

Food is exceptional and atmosphere perfect for dates and friends outing. Hands down, the BEST vegetarian "burger" out there and my very finicky, hard to please husband LOVED the trout with garlic roasted potatoes. We will be back...oh, and our waiter was an absolutely delightful young man!

Nicole Alawady

I did not get to see inside but I was so pleased! We sat outside, and it is a very beautiful place to enjoy good food and drinks! Will be back soon

MW S

Great food consistently, good servers, dog friendly but I would love a hot cappuccino or a hot tea. Drinks usually arrive tepid, I usually stick with water.

Kelly Pepin

Excellent food, service, and ambiance.

Michele Stevens

Great food and service!

Bianca Watts

Great food selection. Tiny location if you don't mind sittingg close to others . Great mimosas!

Lainey Bell

Great service. Good for dates or brunch with friends.

Cassie Powell

Amazing brunch, the crepes are phenom!

Steven Mohler

This is a great restaurant. Outstanding food and service. Parking can be a challenge. But it is worth it.

Michelle Scott

Amazing foie gras

Sarah Rae

Breakfast was delicious and the sever was so friendly. Also, can have your dogs on the outside seating area. Would return for sure.

Stacy Low

It was a very cute breakfast stop! The food and coffee were delicious!

Rachel Ratliff

Delicious food, and wonderful service! We have never been disappointed coming here, and it has been a favorite of ours for years.

Kate Nolan

Great, atmosphere, coffee, champagne and food. Try the crepes and enjoy a champagne cocktail.

Jessica Benz

Came here for the first time over the weekend for a bachelorette party brunch, and it was beyond delicious! I wish I lived closer so I could go all the time. I also loved seeing everyone with their dogs sitting on the front patio.
