This Restaurant corresponds to the category of Indian restaurant.
Love this place!!! Very friendly staff and amazing food. Best food I've had so far in Chicago!! Was a bit worried I wouldn't be into the Indian vibe but now I'm fan!!. This is a must stop in the city for lunch! Many complain about the seating so it you're going in a large group be prepared to eat it else where but totally worth It!!!
I love the food at naansense but lately they have reduced the quantity drastically. I went there because it was a filling meal but now I have to buy sides too. I am looking for other similar places that has good ingredients and good quality
It's good
Definitely try the poutine, it's fantastic. Most chaats are fairly authentic too.
Food taste is good. But I would expect the food to be hot. It was not even warm. You cannot eat such spicy Indian food that cold.
Flavorful food and quick service. Good place to pickup a quick lunch if you are in the loop.
Food was good and fast despite a long line. I rarely eat Indian food, but I very much enjoyed it.
The tacos are so good! I love the concept of the food, the flavors, and how quick it is.
Excellent restaurant! The food tastes good. Good price.
Great spot for lunch. Loaded with flavor, excellent customer service. Decently priced.
Good concept but it didn't work for me. May be they need to have more choices for curry sauce.. stir crazy style setup might work better
Sadly I wasn't a fan and I really wanted to be cos it's close to my office. I didn't like the taste of the food much. I had the chicken naanwich and it was pulled chicken which was marinated in yogurt and spices. Indian food usually has a bang but sadly this didn't even whimper. I also had the mango lassi and while the flavor is really great, the after taste and texture were not. I hope to update this review with a better one once I taste their other options.
The food is really good and the staff is friendly!
Delicious
Such a great quick meal! Really friendly staff.
Good experience. Decently priced. Food was flavorful.
Best place in the loop to get legitimately spicy food. Get the red hot sauce on a bowl for great flavor and spice. Wondering when they will start selling the red hot sauce in bottles.
Always enjoy getting a rice bowl and masala fries from here. They always make each order of the fries fresh! Employees are friendly as well.
The concept of "Naan Tacos" is interesting. Use of Tikka sauce separately from the meat is strange but it worked well for my lamb taco but the paneer taco was fairly bland. The masala fries were a hit with my entire friend group!
Naansense is my goto Indian restaurant whenever I need to satiate my taste buds. Their sauces are just amazing specially the Madras (Spiced Coconut). The naans are cooked to perfection and the food has always been lip smacking. The …
This is a lovely place to have lunch. The staff puts their best efforts into making and deliving quality food and the music isn't so bad either. Btw,
Incredible food. The naan tacos with lamb were delicious, but warning, they're very messy to eat. The masala fries also had great flavor and a nice bit of spice.
Good place to get fast Indian food. Food quality is average.
I really like Naansense and their bowl and infinite combinations you can make. I really like their chicken and farmer's cheese for protein. Vindaloo (Level 4 Spice) is really spicy even for me. I prefer spiced cocunut which is moderate. This place is like Indian Chipotle but worth a try.
Love the food and the concept! Lots of options to choose your own meal.
My favorite lunch place in the Loop. Great veggie options, filling, line moves quickly, and reasonable prices. Recommend!
Well satisfied!!!
Amazing lunch stop! Loved the Tikka!
This is by no means great Indian food but it's pretty good Indian fast food. Chicken was juicy and tender. I've been before and I'll be back
I really like this place. It's a bit like an al fresco deli for Indian food. Service was good. Food was good, but the naan wasn't fresh and was pretty dry. I'll probably return the next time I can.
Food was good, but they didn’t have what I ordered online. I was disappointed they didn’t have what I ordered, but I appreciate them trying to accommodate. Food was good, but they shouldn’t offer things online if they can’t stock it. Despite the friendly customer service, probably wouldn’t go again since it’s not worth the walk when you can’t trust that what you ordered will be there and I still had to wait for them to make the bowl after ordering it in advance.
Delicious Indian flavors. Fresh naan. Good sized portions.
Great food, decent wait times for the lunch rush, and great service make this place a great lunch option in the loop!
The food is good for the price, but I don't recommend ordering online from this location. Typically, orders are estimated to be delivered within 1 hr. It took them over 2 hrs to deliver my meal! To make matters worse, when the meal arrived, I opened it up and it was the wrong order! Doesn't get much worse than that.
Tasty and delicious Indian fast food. Good job guys.
I ordered a chickpea bowl with brown rice and red chili sauce. I appreciate that the red chili is actually spicy. What I like even more than the chickpeas is the chicken and lamb. Also have to mention that the lady who served us was really friendly. Great spot to go for a quick bite before a play in the theater district!
Love the taste. Masala chips are awesome.
Very good for an americanized Indian food.
Great food
Good lunch option in the Loop. I liked the flavors and really appreciated the fact that the vegan options were well-labeled. The decor and vibe is casual and quirky. I don't think there were tables larger than 2 seats, so not great for a group. I will definitely be back.
Good fusion food. Limited space to sit and eat.
Food is very tasty, portions are good-sized, and the staff is some of the friendliest people in the loop. This is my favorite place for lunch. Make sure you get there before the rush if you want a table; I always end up taking it back to my office.
Indian style lunch in the spirit of Chipotle. You will definitely find something you like here. Great for lunch, but the line can be a little long during peak hours.
Service was quick and friendly, the food was delicious, and it was an overall great experience!
It's almost like a Chipotle for Indian food. You can pick your rice/salad, a protein, a sauce and then you get a little bit of salad on the side with a dressing of its own. Plus a naan bread (which was super soft!). It's well priced for the area and the flavors were quite good too!
Food is okay and place is about average..
My co-workers and I love stopping by here for lunch. We describe it as "Chipotle for Indian food." Common dietary restrictions are listed easily to see on their menu, and the staff is fast and friendly. I would recommend letting them know if you're getting fries at first, since that takes a tad bit longer.
I tried their kale+quinoa salad with lamb and chickpeas for protein, spiced coconut sauce, diced tomatoes and cilantro. I don’t like kale, but I ordered it based on their employee’s recommendation. Very tasty and I was surprised that I liked the combination!! Great value for money. I will definitely come back.
Best lunch in the loop
My fiance and I refer to this as "Indian Chipotle" because it feels similar, in its own delicious way. You can make a rice bowl and add whatever you'd like on top of it. I'm particularly fond of their hottest sauce. The only thing keeping this place from being 5 stars for me is that it's not open on the weekend. I always want it on Sunday nights!
I love love love this place. Their sauces are amazing and their fries are my favorite. They’re seasoned and have this yellow sauce that comes with them. My mouth is watering thinking about it. Highly recommend it.
Good place to eat Indian food. Unlike other Indian restaurant, this eatery makes less oily food. The staff makes your relatively fast, but I avoid during lunch hour. It's crowded and not there's not enough seats.
Great place for a quick bite. Food is very tasty as well!
The food is delicious and very vegetarian/vegan friendly.
Good Indian ingredients with the customize options like Subway or Chipotle
Not very Indian beyond the name. The veggies are not cooked in the sauce as they use a make-your-combo model. In my view this negates Indian slow cooking with spices, which makes it tasty. Meat options may be better. Didn't try.
Was really excited when I heard about this place. After eating here all my wife and I could say was....Meh...
I was only in town for a day and read about this place. It was awesome! Nothing special inside, imagine an Indian spin on subway but SO MUCH BETTER. Beautiful soft Naan wraps, your choice of chicken or lamb and choice of spicy or mild sauces plus salad. I also got the Marsala spice fries. If you're looking for a quick tasty lunch go and try this place!
I like their rice bowls and wraps -- again it's a relatively inexpensive choice when I am craving some Indian food. Would not recommend the mango shake, it's definitely not real mango and tastes strange.
Kormic Bowl and Tikka Tacos. Very, very good.
Excellent food!
If you are looking for authentic indian food then this is not the place. There is a nearby indian restaurant, opposite to naansense that you may try!
Delicious food - been here dozens of times!
I really enjoyed this place! My train pulled into Union Station three hours late, and I hadn't eaten all day so I was famished when I found Naansense. It doesn't taste like the Indian food I regularly eat, but that was a good thing. Very fresh, just right portions, excellent ginger ale, and they had a 50% off promotion for dinner. I would definitely come back!
These guys are so legit! The food is awesome and really well priced. Totally recommend. I hope they go national and bring a shop to Tallahassee!
The do a classic bait and switch. I wen tin to order the lamb dish which was priced the same as the beef and when I go to the counter they told me it was 2 dollar up charge If something costs more they should price it on the menu that way not tell the customer at the last moment just before they are ready to order it
Amazing concept and even perfectly executed. I've tried a few options and they've all been a bit .. I'd definitely recommend this place for a quick lunch.
I love this place!!! It is a trifecta of amazingness: great food, cheap, and fast. It is similar to Chipotle in format, but the food is soooo much better. Ingredients are quality and fresh. Can not recommend this more highly.
Affordable price and quick service.
Order for delivery quite often - food always arrives quickly and fresh. The Naan tacos are amazing... but the masala fries are not to miss. The flavor is indescribable, salty and sour. Love this place.
Amazing food.. The variety on the thali was simply mind blowing.. All the items tasted great .. Wud love to visit this place again :) On Indian independence day, they had tri-color puri and tri-color dhokla to represent the Indian flag - it was innovative
Went with high expectations reading all the reviews but slightly disappointed with the quality. Options were good for vegetarians, taste was ok but rice was under cooked that spoiled the whole meal. Is a good concept for fast-casual indian food but I would prefer full fledged indian buffet or chipotle for similar experience.
Delicious food, nice staff, quick, cheap
One of the new enterant to indian-with-a-twist cuisine. spices are perfect, taste is decently indian but not desi. Avoid the masala fries - literally salt with some fries thrown in it, instead go for samosa. To fill a hungry indian it will take just a lil more quantity to hit the sweet spot for a daily walk-in no brainer food joint. Still affordable, Still Indian, go try !
Great quick food! Really liked the chickpeas
Really cool place and a lot better than I thought. The red got sauce was amazing. The chicken couldn't have been more tender.
The restaurant is nice and India concept. The lamb and chicken served are organic. There are a lot of varieties of menu to choose from.
The chicken quinoa bowl was very tasty - tried it with the garlic sauce and tikka sauce.
Really love the food here
I was only in town for a day and read about this place.
Food was decent, but I had high expectations and the flavors just weren't that great. Rice was not prepared that well either. Service and atmosphere was good, although the space is really tight by the seating area if you need to get by.
The place opened just 2 weeks ago and I had a chance to talk to the owner while having my lunch there. I loved the place with the great Chicago art inside. Very clean and stylish. Food is delicious: very simple choice and really really good. Can't wait to have my next lunch here. They also promised food trucks coming soon!
Yes please. Quick. Delicious.
This place is fire. Amazing food always fresh. Keep it up guys. Very friendly staff also
Good food, vegan options. IF you have nothing else TRY the Masala Fries! Regular fries in Indian spices with a mustard and spice dipping sauce!
Its a decent lunch spot...
Good Indian food But lack of varieties
place is kind of small and located at not the best location. otherwise service was nice. food was good. prices are less.
Chipotle-style Indian-inspired fast food. Not overly spiced, just about right!
Pistachio Kulfi was horrible taste .. it was powdery and icy instead of being milky. Staff were so rude about this and denied that it was because of pistachios. Worst Indian ice cream made here. Although naan tacos were good
Good Indian fast food place, try the lamb plate! Fresh Indian food with a build your bowl option. Vegan options and friendly staff. I tried the lamb plate and it was alright. The lamb itself was a bit dry so I recommend asking for more …
Great Indian food in Chicago! It's like an Indian version of Chipotle. The rice bowl with the green chutney is amazing! Must try
Delicious Indian food with tons of vegetarian options. Great atmosphere, though parking can be a challenge sometimes.
Good fusion food
Great lunch spot, though it's a bit pricey. I love all of their sauces, but lamb + Madras is my absolute favorite. Naan tacos are great for a good lunch without feeling bloated. Curry fries are fantastic, but definitely a shareable size.
So many tasty options! I would eat here all the time if I worked downtown. The lamb was probably not worth the extra charge, will try a different protein next time.
Great option for Indian lunch during weekdays. The Madras curry is particularly good.
The Chipotle model is blowing up, this place does the Indian food version. It's quick, seemingly healthy with delicious options. Can do a bowl, sandwich or salad, great Loop food option.
Isn't exactly authentic Indian food but very tasty food nevertheless.
I am not that familiar with Indian food but to me, this place seemed pretty authentic. I ordered their lamb.. sandwich? Not sure what to call it. The lamb itself was very moist and tender and the naan bread was also just the right amount of …
This is not Indian ! It's not even close ! ...BEWARE. . so many hidden prices....and everything is Extra !...just wanted to give a star for food which was decent !
Food is delicious! And fast! You can customize to get exactly what you want. They also have very spicy sauces. I love it!!
Delicious food and it's really fast service.
Lacking a of the Indian flavor in their food!
Good spot for a meal on the healthier side, not to mention good portion sizes for the price. Highly reccomend the chickpea bowl with tikka and mint.
"Fresh"! Literally and figuratively. Delicious Indian fare, full of fresh ingredients, carry-out or dine-in this hip spot under the tracks... Naansense definitely gets a spot in the weekly lunch rotation. It's that good... :-)
Naan taco is really. Cool innovation.
Love the masala fries!
Really delicious fast-casual Indian-ish food, the samosas and the chicken tikka tacos were awesome
Wow Very good concept with Indian theme We tried chicken and mutton both . Naans were fresh and both meat were tender. The chettinad sauce(I guess ) was little more of tomato flavored but I liked it. Also kids had option for potato wedges so they were happy. Give it a try for sure when you visit the city
Love their food, especially the fries!
Both food and the service were awesome!
I am a fan of Indian and Pakistani’s food, but this place is just OK!
Nice place... not that much Indian by flavor... but nice!!
Indian style of naf naf /chipotle. Faster service and good number of options to choose from.
Chicken bowl with Spicy Coconut sauce. #Epic.
Very bad that you have reduced the food quantity, not enough for lunch. Mine was online order.
Delicious! Paneer tacos with tika. Made to order masala fries. Friendly staff
Summary: an amazing and affordable indian food version of chipotle. Eat here! Apparently what I've been wanting my whole life is a Chipotle but with Indian food! This small but surprisingly spacious restaurant serves rice bowls, naan tacos, and salads with curries and protein. Some of the sauces are vegan, and there are multiple veg options for protein, including chickpeas and paneer. The staff are fast, the chicken was beautifully cooked, the sauces flavorful, and the rice perfect. My husband and I got lamb tikka naan tacos, a chicken rice bowl with coconut curry, and masala fries served with a curry mayo. It ended up coming to about $25, which is a great price for Chicago. I'm definitely going out of my way to come here again.
Great concept for Indian/Pakistani fast food. Good pickled onions. Very much a student hangout, which makes sense given the low prices. If I'm on a tight schedule and crave Indian food in the future, now I know there's an app for that.
Delicious and great value
This is chipotle of north Indian food
Great place for fast India food. Masala fries are worth trying too.
Naansense makes me so happy! Wonderful customer service especially from Dane! the food is always amazing the atmosphere is comfortable! Everything is perfect it make you feel welcome and at home and the food good you will leave with a euphoric feeling!
I gave Naansense 5 stars for their ability to balance price point, food quality and service. The food here is amazing and fresh The staff is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. This place is a great option for lunch or a quick dinner. Pro-tip for those on a shoestring budget: Order one rice bowl with EVERYTHING and ask for extra naan.
Really nice place to eat and relax. The food is amazing not to spicy just great flavor.
The restaurant is like an Indian version of Chipotle. The food was delicious and served in a timely fashion. Highly recommend the masala fries.
Good food but don't buy side dishes...
One of our favorite lunch spots. Indian food done Chipotle style. Pick a base, pick a protein, add some toppings. Better for take out, since seating is a little cramped.
Do try out the cashew ginger (khorma) naan taco !! Tip: Do not add the extra dressing on top, spoils the taste of cashew ginger sauce/ curry..
Good okay..bit not that spicy as I expected kind of Indian Chipotle bowl
I like it here, great food & service. The service was sociable and attentive. The bill was fair.
Enjoyed the fast-food style Indian food that they serve here. I would love more variety, but it's pretty good for what it is. The one thing that they could do better is make fresh naan, instead of using frozen ones. Otherwise, I would go back for sure!
Take out plus with a new take. All the Indian flavors with none of the fuss. Silly name but no nonsense superb taste for custom made combos while you wait. Always tasty sides to add to your sandwich, rice bowl (brown or basmati) or salad. If you are in the area, don't miss out. Friendly staff make your experience complete.
Nice fast fusion food
Delicious, cheap and kind.
Absolutely gorgeous Taco Roti's
Amazing food! Seating is limited so be ready for take out during the lunch rush is what I have heard, but we easily found a seat. Even with a long line to order they move quick. Super friendly staff, fantastic food, decently priced for the loop. Highly recommend! Tons of flavor, all about the sauces.
When I found this place, I didn't have huge expectations. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. The store itself is pretty hole in the wall and small, but the service is fantastic and fast. If you enjoy Indian food, I would suggest going there. It is surprising the amount of flavor they can get despite the service being so fast. It is similar to a subway or chipotle feel where you go along, customizing your dish. I got the chicken naan tacos with madras sauce and the masala fries. I am excited to go back!
Food is great! The service is awesome and the employees are very friendly. Love the masala fries yumm
This place has taken Indian food to a new level Amazing options great taste Great combinations It is a must visit place I wish they had a franchise in the suburbs as well
My experience is based on takeout only. The food is quite good, especially for a fast-food take on Indian. I usually get the Chicken Korma salad with extra veggies, which is very tasty.
Very good and surprisingly very filling. Definitely go back
Great good at the price. Loved cashew curry.
It's Indian-ized version of Chipotle. Something different, doesn't taste like typical Indian food but give chance to your taste blends explore something new. Place deserve one chance...And service is also good.
The samosas are too notch!
Better than you'd expect from fast-casual Indian food. The staff is helpful and the line moves quickly.
Filled me up in no time. I will be bringing family next time. This place has a great atmosphere. They have a lot of great reviews for a reason.
Whenever I'm in this area of the loop I make sure to come here for lunch. It's like the chipotle of Indian food in that you build your meal! The food has never disappointed me, and pricing is fair. I wish there were more locations!
Food portions are small for what they charge for them. I had a lamb roll and the meat had no flavor at all. The roll was no bigger than a taco. I had a mango lassi as well and it was horrible. The lassi tested like a yogurt shake with mostly milk. Not good. I won't be back again.
Food is great, customer service and being in contact with delivery services on the other hand this company is inept. I waited for an hour and a half, only to be informed that the restaurant was closed early. More respect for the people that give you money please.
Delicious
Fast, cheap, fresh
Fantastic concept- Indian street food served in Chipotle style. Authentic flavors and fast service. A sure shot winner!
Very good, indian fusion food
Food is so good along with amazing quality. The staff is also very friendly. This is my go to spot for quick delicious Indian food!
Fast Indian food that actually was filled with authentic flavor
Quick and really good Indian fast food. I would say it is like an Indian version of chipotle. They could turn this into a franchise across large metros in US
