This is one of my new favorite spots in Indy. The concept of meatballs is awesome. Writing on your menu to indicate your order is very fun. You can create pretty much anything you want or order plates to share. The atmosphere reminds me of restaurants in Europe, quaint and full of lively people. Staff where fast, efficient and knowledagble regarding the menu items. Side note: if you like brussel sprouts, try their deep fried brussel sprouts as your side - you will not be disappointed. I give them 5 stars plus!!!

Maybe it's the Italian in me, but the meatballs themselves were ok, nothing special. The chicken meatballs were literally just pieces of chicken with sauce in them, like tiny chicken cutlets. Servers were friendly as was the manager, however service itself was on the slow side.

Staff was incredibly rude and short. The menu was explained quickly and impatiently. Our food came out quickly, which was the only plus we experienced. The waitress came to the table a total of three times. To deliver the food (which we ordered from the manager because she never came to take our order), deliver a to-go box, and grab the signed receipt, which was placed on the inside of the table since we were not yet finished, immediately after placing it down to check her tip, which was so rude since she had to reach over us to actually grab it. Food was mediocre and service was pathetic.

I went here several months ago and loved it. Their vegetarian meatballs are great. My favorite sauce, to my surprise, was the cilantro sauce. I also liked their marinara and spicy marinara sauce (the latter was the special sauce of the day, I believe). I had a fourth sauce that wasn’t as good as the other three (may have been the garlic), so I’d recommend the first three. The only downside is that the sides are WAY overpriced—easily double what I’d have expected. Even so, I intend to come back as both the food and atmosphere are great.

I ordered the combo meal (2 meatballs and a side) as well as the Chopped Romaine Salad. The meatballs were good. The Chef's veggies were good too, but the came in a very small portion. The salad was a big let-down. It looked and tasted like it came out of a bag.

When Mimi Blues first opened up I was in love. Since then I feel the experience and quality has declined. The past 3 times I have been the meatballs have been very tough. Th is past time service was slow - it appeared they had 1 person serving the entire restaurant and it was packed. I have decided that I am not going to go to again even though I love their gnocchi appetizer and Brussel sprouts side dish because the price is not matching the quality or experience.

Great and different choice. They have a weekly special (ask your server) and also a couple options not listed on the menu yet. Basically you have several choices of meat for the meatballs (3 or 4) or three different veggie balls. Sides can be on the side or served underneath the balls and sauce. I Got the turkey and they were NOT undercooked contrary to another person's complaint. Mushroom gravy was great and paired well with the "dirty" potatoes (mashed with skins in) and some good crusty baguette slices. Son got a decent sized Dempsey (meatball trio and sauce on baguette with a side of fresh greens) and Mac and cheese (slightly spicy due to queso sauce). Wife got three beef meatballs in bourbon BBQ (she described as "more savory than sweet") and fried potatoes. (Breakfast homefries style) Prices in the $10-15 per plate range. Good eats.

The first time we went was after they opened initially. The food was good as was the service. The last few times we went the food wasn't as good as it had been previously. I like meatballs but it isn't my first pick when going out to eat. The sandwiches and brussel sprouts are delicious and I like the variety of choices. I would at least try it once or twice. It may be up your alley. Definitely get the brussel sprouts when you go.

Went here for lunch with friends and the ambience was great. They replicated the interior lights to meatballs. This is one of the quiet few places which offer vegetarian meatballs. The waitress was super welcoming and warm. She patiently explained everything. Had ordered lots of food and enjoyed. It was all unique and great. Quite honestly I have no idea why everyone loves this place.. I guess if you've never had a good meatball before you wouldn't know any different. I tried 3 different items and they were all extremely unsatisfying. The meatball was dry and did not taste good. The salad was awful.. it was a mix from a bag and tasted old, the carrots were extremely bitter and there were mo "heirloom" tomatoes. I also got chili and it was really gross also. It left a horrible taste in my mouth and it had a weird grittiness too it. On top of the food just not being what I expected, especially for the price, my server was very unhelpful. She could tell I was dissatisfied, her whole attitude changed from the time we sat down to when we were done eating. She never asked how we were, how the food was, or anything of that nature. I didnt care too much which is why I didnt say anything myself but as a server and being courteous, this should have been addressed. Will not be back and will never reccomend, which is very unfortunate

It was great to try once. It's a little pricy for how much you get, but the uniqueness makes it worth it. I had four different meat balls with different sauces and each was good, some better than others. The descriptions for each meat and sauce make it easy to pair and choose. The service was good too. It's on Mass Ave so go during a slow time of day to get parking near by. I probably won't go back unless a foodie friend comes to visit, but I'm glad I tried it.

I ordered two orders of the 4 vegan ballers with dirty mashed potatoes and I only received one. I was told that I would have to come to the restaurant to retrieve the other one or get a refund. After talking to the manager, who wasn't much help, I agreed to the refund. 13.65 is supposed to be refunded although that's NOT even half of the amount of the food which was 38 bucks, not including the fee, the sales tax and the tip. I do NOT believe that they will be receiving anymore of my money because $61.41 is too much to pay for this added aggravation.

Bread is a bit dry and hard, but that's a good encouragement not to eat it; you'll need the stomach space for the other amazing food! I'm just sad that I can't review their desserts; I've never had enough room left for it.

Best meatballs and sauces in Indy. When the dish arrives you may be concerned that it isn't enough food... Not the case! Far more filling than it looks and beyond delicious (and that's coming from a Big guy.) The specials are more complex than I thought a meatball could deserve - until Mimi Blue's. Easily one of my favorites. It's also great that it is trendy but still child friendly (at least during the day.)

Turkey meatballs are delicious. The mac is a no go for me but my boyfriend loves it. It's spicy and can almost be described as two worlds colliding; queso from your favorite Mexican restaurant and penne pasta from Olive Garden mashed into one dish. If that sounds good to you, go for it.

This may be the most distinctive dish I’ve every had in Indianapolis. Tasty, spicy and very green. A must try if you’re a fan of cilantro. My step son chose this place for his bday dinner. He had been here before, but my husband and I had not. We went to the Mass Ave. location. It was a Thursday night around 7pm and the place was nearly empty. I guess I expected at that hr on a Thursday the place would have a few more people. All 3 of us ordered meatballs of various kinds with different sauces. We also ordered the queso mac'n cheese and the brussel sprouts as sides. The service was good, but honestly the food was just average, and I would say it is on the pricey side for what it is. Our bill with tip was $98 for the 3 of us. In addition to our meatball dinners (we each had the recommended 4 meatballs) and the 2 sides, my husband and I each had 1 glass of wine and my step son ordered ice tea. I would probably dine here again, as a novelty, if I had out of town guests. But honestly other than that I do not see myself rushing back for meatballs.

All I can say is HALLELUJAH!! How did I live this long without gnocchi in my life?? This side dish was so delicious it almost brought me to tears. Please promise me you will have the gnocchi (no-key) when you go! As for the meatballs... I'm a vegetarian and they have several options for me to choose from. My friend with me is a meat eater and there were even more choices for her. We both loved our meatballs. They were very tasty! The place has a relaxed atmosphere. The service was great! Excellent location for meatballs, not only the meatballs are great but the different types of sauces that you can order with your meatballs. It was our first time there and the staff was so helpful and accommodating to give us a small sample of the different sauces so we could have a better idea of which sauce to pick. The staff is excellent, the place is welcoming and very clean, certainly we would come back again. My family and my friend were very grateful and satisfied that we went there, I had to suggest a place and I mentioned mimi meatballs, at the beginning they were not sure what to expect but certainly at the end they told me it was a great suggestion and they loved the place.

If you love meatballs, and don't mind expanding your definition of what a meatball can be made from and sauced by, then you're going to love this place. There are even meatballs for vegetarians! The sides are great, and so are the salads. Nice wine selection as well. This is one of our favorite places downtown. We go here whenever family comes in town, or if we just want to have a girls night out. The girls and I always split the heirloom salad, which is AMAZING, ad then we each get an order of 4 meatballs. The mix of the flavors and sauces are wonderful. I couldn't tell you my favor meatball, but my friends and I all agree that our favorite sauces are the spicy cilantro and the garlic cream.

The family and I are huge fans of what they have going on inside this restaurant. The menu is rather simple, but yet there is something for everyone. Even with the limited items, leaving with a full stomach is almost a guarantee. Highly recommend
