Corn soup was incredible
Great food great service, usually quiet & good for dinner conversations.
The atmosphere was quaint and nice. The food was good. I had the lamb chops and they were good.
Great food, great place for a business lunch.
Fabulous food and service!
Ambiance is really nice and rotating menu is very good. Service was excellent
great food
Visited DT Grinders last Friday night and was totally impressed. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was very cool - a beautifully refurbished Victorian house with a great bar upstairs. Meridian needed this place! Had a dz raw oysters as an appetizer - good size and cold, just like we like them. Then we enjoyed a wonderful salad and steak dinner, topped off with a slice of cheesecake for dessert. You will not be disappointed when you visit, but better make reservations. The place was packed by the time we left at 7:00.
Amazing food and fabulous service!!!
Jambalaya is fantastic!
Half price Wines on Wedenesday
Kudos to Christian our waiter excellent service!
Seasonal menu keeps me guessing! Best service around!
The lemon cake was DELICIOUS
Nice
Lovely meal, great place to catch-up
Excellent!
Every time we go we are continually Blown Away by the service quality of food and atmosphere. I strongly recommend the corn puree soup as I would eat it for my last meal or for the rest of my life to be honest.
Did not care for it myself, I'm sure for the right person it's good. It just wasn't for my taste. Seemed very overpriced for the food.
I ha knockwurst and the potatoes were dry, like they had been reheated. Poor quality for the price.
Excellent on all fronts: atmosphere, service, and food. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for!
Casual elegance and consistently fine fare. The seared octopus and foie gras appetizers are not to be missed!
The food and wine selection are fantastic. The entree choices leave something to be desired for vegetarians, I had one option available to me. The do support gluten free patrons as well.
Excellent food and atmosphere. Professional staff's service. Will visit again soon. Thank you.
Great atmosphere and fantastic service.
Amazing food & service
Great customer service during and even after having a meal! The other day I needed to locate a lost receipt and they were gracious on the phone and help me right away. Since the food is also great, I highly recommend Meridian.
Not real impressed way overpriced for the quality of food would never go back
Great. Expensive, but great. Also expensive, though.
We very much enjoyed our meal. Everyone agreed that their food was well prepared. Price was reasonable. Salmon is top shelf!
Food always fantastic, fresh, and staff terrific
Delicious food and friendly staff!
This place has a really great atmosphere. The price is great for what you get. I ordered the steak frittes. The salad and fries were very fresh and the steakids was delicious. The staff was great and the chef delivered my food himself.
One of the top 5 meals I have had in the Midwest. Highly recommended, especially for special occasions. Make a reservation in advance!
Excellent food!! One of the best meals I’ve had for a while. And amazing service!
Absolutely delicious! Great service too. Went for Devour Indy and had the best salmon I've ever tasted. The artisan greens salad is also a winner.
Food was really very good. Atmosphere is a bit pretentious.
I wish I could explain how great our experience was. But, words can't explain it. The best staff, the best management, and the best chef. This was the best experience we've ever had anywhere. The servers are professionally trained and treat you like royalty. The management takes great pride in their operations and the chef is creative and innovative with his perfectly made choices. I wish there were more stars to give than 5.
The restaurant was so beastly hot it was impossible to enjoy our meal. It was like a blast furnace. I had sweat running down my back, my friend was stripping layers, and the men had to remove their sports coats and were wiping their brows with their napkins. I could've been wearing a bikini and still would have been warm. No apology was offered (the staff HAD to know how hot we all were) and indeed seemed not to even be making any effort to alleviate our discomfort (don't any of the windows actually open?). Inexcusable.
Sarah was great and the food was amazing!
I attended a business dinner here, and we got a room upstairs to ourselves. Everyone loved the food, and the service was excellent. I'll definitely be coming back.
Lamb Shank was the highlight of our dinner The appetizers were not impressive. The fried oysters had too much breading. The spinach sauce was good, but not spicy enough. The beef was a disaster. It was all fat and sinue, so we had to send it back. They brought us the new portion, which was lean, but lacked flavor. The main course- lamb shank was great! Do we forgive them for the appetizer debacle. The desert: chocolate cake and creme brulee were good, so overall a good dinner and nice atmosphere.
I have had nothing but great experiences at this restaurant. The service is always excellent, and the atmosphere is warm and intimate. Additionally, the chef is always creating the most exquisite dishes for special occasions and seasons throughout the year. I am always recommending this place to friends and family.
Nice place to eat. Food and environment are good and prices reasonable.
First class dining, quaint, classy, cozy, and great staff.
Great food
!!Corrected - after talking to the manager, who replied in a timely manner, I was sent a gift card and politely asked to return. My wife and I went back and had a pleasant dinner with kind staff. This place is a treasure in Indianapolis that should be shared with friends and family! Original - Went for the Valentines special and came out disappointed. Heard great reviews and expected top notch quality. The food left much to be desired, the server forgot what we ordered, and the champagne toast never came. Menu was comparable to Devour Downtown at 2x the price. Won't do this again for a romantic dinner but maybe a nice lunch and order off the regular menu.
Great atmosphere. My wife and I came here for our annual "between Christmas and New Years" date. We were seated next to the fireplace. It is a great, quite place for a date. The wine list has a lot to choose from and the chocolate martini was well made. There were also many local brews on the beer list. The food was good - tasty, well prepared, and nicely presented. They try to use local ingredients when possible. My octopus was not local (I would image), but it was very good - it was the first time I had octopus. I tasted my wife's chicken and it was well prepared also. My only complaint is that there were some ingredients in some of the dishes that I felt should have been listed on the menu. The two I am speaking of: 1 - the chocolate martini had mint in it. I don't think that is a standard and I would not have ordered it if I knew it contained mint 2 - my wife salad had anchovies on it - I traded her salad for my soup (my soup was better) as she doesn't like seafood. I liked the salad, but again, that should have been in the description. Overall, it is pricey, good food, great service, great place for a date, quiet. (leave the kids at home for this one).
Very nice restaurant. Nice service.
Whoever did the initial "review" on the Google "opening" sure likes "quotation marks". Maybe a little "too much". I'd prefer to show my enthusiasm for Meridian. Great restaurant with a cozy ski lodge feeling inside and a great menu. I highly recommend the seasonal Osso Buco. The service is top notch and the bar staff makes a great martini. You won't be sorry you went. You may be prone to excessive quotation marking though.
Fabulous food with creative pairings. Lovely setting. Great service.
Zero flavor in their food and horribly overpriced
The underwhelming and disappointment of it all...The staff was great and our waiter Matt was excellent..The loud 20 top tables times 2 were unpleasant and very loud and the food ...the food...we have no problems paying a higher price for a dinner out and was amazed by the non flavor way over priced dishes from the appetizer to the salad to the entree and last but not least the cold lame donuts for dessert...it was like an old country club still trying sustain itself...sorry..we won't be back.
Very good experience. The food and service was excellent! I will come back!
The inside is beautiful and cozy. The food is incredible. I highly recommend the Boar Bolognese and the Short Rib entrees. The bread biscuits are made in-house and are amazing. Our server, Will, is the best and will take good care of you.
Food was excellent, service was great and the building is very nice. Wine list was okay. Enjoyed a nice evening.
Always great food and service
Exceptional food, great lunch menu and all around classy establishment.
Pleasant aroma as you enter this classic aroma. If you aren’t hungry, you will be. I order the aroma, a corn soup and Jambalaya. I don’t like corn but I loved the soup, so much so I had to take the Jambalaya home. I will return. Price, atmosphere and really good food.
Awesome waiter, great ambiance, food was terrific. The house soup was crazy good.
Get the corn puree soup. You're welcome!
The menu is too obscure, things I've never heard of.The waiter acted as if he was doing us a favor.we shared a filet,no alcohol. We won't go back.
Amazing food. Service was fantastic. Recommended.
Excellent first time at Meridian! The waiter was very knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu. We started with the fried oysters (amazingly mouthwatering!) Then had the pureed corn chowder (not something I would normally get but came highly recommended, and was delicious!) For the entree we split the rib eye which was the perfect portion and was the BEST steak I have ever had! It melted in my mouth and the mushroom orzo and sauce that came with it
Great seasonal menus. Knowledgeable and professional staff. Chef gets great flavors in his dishes.
The best meal I've had since my wedding night.
I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. It has a cozy atmosphere and the staff is so welcoming. The menu is amazing and changes consistently with the season, so you can always find something new and exciting to try.
Excellent bar service w Susan, a true professional. Aaron is the server to ask for. Straight shooter
Great romantic fancy restaurant.
We had a really nice evening. I had the pork belly & shrimp, which was quite good. Good service. However, I think there are better options for the price.
Spinach salad did not have much flavor at all. Chicken Enchiladas were wonderful.
Went for a business dinner. Excellent service. I chose the salmon which was perfectly prepared. Bulleit Rye Old Fashion was outstanding.
Very unique restaurant with a nice patio. Great service. Waitress was well informed. Food arrived timely. Very impressed with the fried oysters app, main course scallops seared perfectly, but not too impressed with the desert options as we went with the peach cobbler with peach ice cream. The Napa Valley wine was smooth and tasty. However overall, the restaurant is a bit expensive relative to the value as experience was not outstanding (it didn't wow me), but well prepared and tasty.
I truly love this place this is my 5th visit.. Look for me back soon ..
An outstanding restaurant. The menu is well balanced with excellent fulfillment. As a former residence in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood it offers an ambiance that is relaxing and appropriate for the setting.
Great food
Amazing food. Nice quiet bar area that is quiet to catch up with friends. The staff was very helpful and very attentive bas well. Good beer selection as well. Beet salad was amazing and Salmon entree was really well prepared
Awesome place
Amazing food and incredible service. Nice, quiet, pleasant ambience. Good place for a date or catching up with old friends. If you're in the mood for loud music and a party atmosphere, this is NOT the place for you. The prices are certainly on the upscale side, but so is the food and the dining experience.
They have the best keokie coffee here. (Very smooth.) Definitely worth a repeat visit with some dining.
Exquisite upscale southern cuisine, fantastic and attentive servers. Highly recommend Milner's if you're looking for something fantastic.
Great Food!
Great place! Good service and great food.
Eaten here on a few occasions now and never been disappointed. Great food in a lovely atmosphere. We look forward to returning.
Excellent birthday lunch for my husband. All three of us had wonderful dishes. Good wine. Nice atmosphere. Look forward to going back.
Exceptional hospitality and service. Food was superb (Fried Oysters, and Boar Bolognese).
Went for Father's Day dinner with my daughter, future son inlaw, son and granddaughters. The place is cozy with a nice atmosphere. Wouldn't recommend for young chidren the menu isn't kid friendly. I have to admit the food was tasteful. Everyone wanted to taste what the next person had. I would go again and try something new because the menu constantly changes.
Great food....lovely atmosphere...excellent service...reasonable prices Corn chowder is a must. Also fish tacos.
Great menu and service!
Excellent service, excellent wait staff and excellent food. Well worth going there.
Great new restaurant we were happy we tried, so many great items on the menu it was hard to choose what to order. Ended up with the Smoked Corn Puree & Summer Wedge to start ... then Pork Shank Osso Buco & Chicken Tikka. Donuts and espresso to close out the meal were fantastic. Our wait staff took great care of us and we didn't ever feel rushed. Restaurant had great date night lighting and was not crowded on a Friday Night at 7pm, could be because of the downpour we were getting but it was a great overall experience. Thank you!
Always a delightful experience at The Meridian! Food was as good as the service.
The food was amazing and service was great as well.
Fantastic meal
Excellent place for a business style lunch. Food was very good and staff allowed for plenty of privacy for discussions.
Really good modern American cuisine. Quiet place so great for couples or small groups. Service was top notch. Great wine list.
Perfect for date night with cozy ambience and elegant but relaxed, unpretentious setting. Every menu is impressively thought out and well balanced with a seasonal twist. Food is simply amazing. Servers were classy and good humored.
Terrible service coupled with even worse food! I can't believe how bad we were treated and how bad the food tasted, nevermind how bad it smelled! Go anywhere else.
Food was great and the youngman Michael that worked with us was awesome!!
I liked it
Lovely place, great service and food.
Best restaurant in Indianapolis , peaceful environment along with great food.
Love the fire place and food.
Gourmet food in a very pleasant atmosphere
This is a review of the Meridian Restaurant: the behavior of the manager, the quality of service, and the presentation and originality of the food. I think I am well qualified to bear witness to the decline of this restaurant since I and my married partner have been going there about 3 times a year for well over 10 years. No more. At the time we were celebrating my partner's birthday for which I have always reserved a particular table. When we arrived, without even looking at the reservation book, the teenage hostess proceeded to seat us at a table near the kitchen door and a trash can. When I complained that I and my companion were not being seated at the table I had requested more than a month ago, she informed me that all tables were booked—there were three occupied tables and we had arrived at 5:00. When I tried to explain that this was our traditional table for my spouse's birthday, and that this table was not acceptable, the manager, a Mr. Smegel or Smergel, came huffing out from the kitchen and told me in a low and threatening voice, to shut up or I would “be complaining on the street.” I am left to wonder if this was motivated by homophobia. We had nowhere else to go because it was near the Christmas holidays, but our days at this restaurant are over. As regards the food: same old same old—not even an attempt at presentation. Salmon plopped on pasta, carrot bisque that was so sweetened that no flor of carot was present. Our server, Christian, was outstanding.
Good food, though menu is a little over the top (weird) at times
Food was good service not so much
Good service, decent reasonable meal. Went on a Wednesday with a reservation, which was wholly unnecessary. I was impressed with the decor, which is like a Swiss chalet on the inside. I imagine it would be very cozy in winter - they have a fireplace. In summer with the a/c out it was quite warm, but they have a small patio if you prefer to sit outside. We started with the fries oysters, a generous portion for two, and quite good. My wife had the artisan greens salad followed by the rabbit, and I went for the smoked corn puree and Heartland Strip. Everything was perfect except the steak was a bit undercooked. The service felt a bit rushed for some reason, but it's hard to complain too much about food coming quickly (not rapidly, but faster than expected for sure). As we polished off a bottle of White Bordeaux, the dessert menu came. I very much enjoyed the chocolate truffles I ordered, and her peach upside cake was good (I'm not a fan of peaches..). Friendly staff, and the price was fair, so we'll be back to try the winter seasonal fare.
Delicious food, excellent service! Can't say enough!! Will absolutely be back!
Very nice atmosphere, food was good, but not on par with the cost. Wait staff was excellent.
Stopped for coffee and dessert. And for $40 boy was I disappointed. The cheesecake I personally thought fell short. And the cake that I ordered to be honest with so unmemorable I don't remember now what it was. I think the food is good but I will not stop again for coffee and dessert. I'd rather have my $40
Good was ok had bland fish tacos. Biggest issue was the waiter and cross-contamination i noticed that he was resting the water pitcher on the glass when he would refill. He rested it right where my lips had been in the glass then did then with everyone's glass at the table.... And the next table... And the next table. Regretfully i was there for a business lunch so could not make a comment, but I'm truly disgusted. Will never return!
I hosted a baby shower here last weekend and it was wonderful! The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable! Beautiful, unique and comfortabke ambiance. Thank you for going above and beyond for our group!
Charming and excellent restaurant with a wonderful menu of delicious foods.
Top 5 restaurant in Indy.
This is a must visit place for any food lover. We had the ribeye and pork chop. They were both amazingly delicious. The donuts and creme brule were a dream. Great service. Amazing food.
This is a lovely & quaint place. The food was excellent and the staff were attentive and very friendly!
Love the atmosphere, food and drinks. Our water was superb.
First off, the food was amazing. Hats off to the chef. This was one of the best meals I have had in Indy. Why did I not give 5 stars? We were engulfed by fruit flies throughout the meal. Could they have done something about it? I'm not sure. But it did significantly take away from the enjoyment of the evening out while continuously swatting bugs out of our face and hair (we were at an indoor table). My wife and I tried to deal with it, but finally told the waiter that it was a problem. The bottom line is that it sullied an otherwise enjoyable evening. I didn't expect a lot, but showing some empathy and concern would have been welcome. A simple act like comp'ing one of our drinks would have been nice. Instead, unfortunately, I left with a somewhat negative memory. Too bad as I did really enjoy the food. On the bright side, hopefully this was a one-off event.
I have been coming here for years. I have never had something I did not love. It is absolutely my favorite place to eat anywhere.
GREAT SERVICE! The food was delicious and fresh. They were really accommodating to our large group and our server was so attentive to everyone’s needs. Parking is tight but they have a free valet that helps with that and makes parking smoother. A great place for groups and for a fancier meal.
Overall a very nice experience. Great food, atmosphere and service!
Thank you!
Nice menu array and quiet atmosphere to fit their residential location.
It's a nice restaurant in a quant building right off Meridian. Good food and a nice bar that's popular after work.
Chef Allen has entered into the world of cascading flavors in his dishes, like the old school Emeril's Fish House at the MGM Grand, and the service is terrific, like it should be.
Pretty good. A bit pricey
This restaurant is unique. It is part of an old home converted. The wait staff is knowledgeable about the menu and the drinks. They are quick to respond to any questions, orders, or concerns. The menu has some unique offerings filled with flavor. It was an overall great experience.
Dishes very well prepared. Wait staff knowledgeable and pacing spot on
Great
Fancy, expensive, delicious, makes me wish I'd gone to law school
Delicious food & great service. Upscale AND relaxing. Quiet AND fun. A rare and beautiful place. Will defintely return.
Waiter forgot us... Food was average... Comfortable atmosphere... Will try again!
Great food, lots of local ingredients, attentive, knowledgeable waiters and waitresses, menu that changes often. Never had a bad meal there! Outdoor patio is great in the evenings along picturesque Meridian. Pricey and well worth it.
One of the top notch Indianapolis offerings. Everything from the wine list to the boar bolognese was world class. The premium service was the cherry on top.
Excellent food & service was great!
This is THEE place to take a date, couple, in-law, parent, out of towner, and/or business associate that is impressed by fine food, excellent wine and delicious beverages or dessert. I really appreciated the way they acknowledged their Sous chef on the shape and content of their menu which means that they have a seasonal menu that changes quarterly or more often. Valet parking, lovely setting, knowledgeable and no-pressure service! Plan to make a reservation if u want a table on a weekend or holiday.
Food was delicious and service was great.
