Got two rolls, the one with no rice was extremely good but the normal roll was not the best. Decent selection, would like to try it again, but I hope they add more good rolls where you can actually taste the fish instead of just spicy mayo. I am not a fan of all the fried, mayo, avocado, and sauces on rolls.

My husband and I love to come here. The service is always excellent and we have not had a bad experience. Whether you like sushi, teriyaki or hibachi- there is something on the menu for everyone. The steak and scallop hibachi is a favorite and the Kumo roll is also really good. If you don't have time to have the full hibachi experience you can still order off of the hibachi menu in the dining area.

First time here and it was great. Family and I did the hibachi. Our server was pleasant and the chef was great. Very entertaining and the resulting food was very tasty. We went on a Sunday and our daughter (under 12) was able to get the kids hibachi half price too!

I was at work and ordered from DoorDash. The order came in a timely manner. The order was correct. I ordered miso soup, eel and avocado roll, sweet 16 roll, and dancing dragon roll. I spent $45 after 10% tip to driver. I ate one piece of each roll and the rest went in the trash. The worst sushi I've ever eaten.

We visited for the first time tonight after going to our normal hibachi grill-they had a wait of an hour! Kumo seated us around 30 minutes, we only had a party of 3. The restaurant was very clean and nice. The waitress was super friendly, as was the waiter who took our order later. Our chef was excellent, he had many tricks that kept our four year old entertained the whole time. He even gave my son more rice when my son, jokingly, asked for more. We ordered a side of broccoli for him and they didn’t even charge us! How awesome is that? The hibachi chicken had an excellent taste, as did the clear soup! Oh and they gave my son a bowl of soup- we didn’t order it, but she had made an extra one by accident. We will definitely be returning customers, but will utilize the reservation system next time.

Our family has gone to Kumo a number 9f times. It is a favorite. I am withholding the fifth star because we have been to other restaurants of this type that we like better, but it is nice. I should mention that we have not done the hibachi. We enjoy the sushi and Japanese appetizers/plates. One more note: we find the bar at Kumo to be better than other Japanese restaurants on the south side of Indy.

Love the food and the hibachi experience but I wish I could remember to never sit at the bar again. The last three times I have been here, we have sat down and was completely ignored for at least 10-15 minutes each time, before I had to yell across the bar to order a drink. The bartenders are sooooooo extremely slow and not aware of customers. It seems like they get too hung up on making drinks for the waiters, which is understandable, we all want drinks but good God learn to multitask. A simple “I’ll be right with you” would have sufficed.

Been here twice for the hibachi and let me tell you: wow. If you get the steak the definitely try a piece before everything else is finished and I dare you to stop at one piece. Everything in this place is amazing. I learned a few things in my visits: 1. Butter make everything better! 2. Salt and pepper together forever! 3. Sake make you happy! I don't know who the chef was both times we were there but that guy is a legend in my book.

This is my favorite hibachi in Greenwood. I have never had a bad experience, but I have seen them take care of other customers when something didn't come out right and they are always ready to make things right. The rice is so good I always order some to take home for lunch or dinner the next day.

Our new favorite sushi place in Indy ! Their sushi quality (the fish itself) is absolutely outstanding - the raw salmon is always very tender. Sometimes the algae is a bit tough but still the best sushi in our area. The waiters/ atmosphere are comforting and there is time to enjoy the food in contrast to e.g Ichiban where unfortunately it increasingly seems that they want to get rid of the customers asap.

The unique variety of flavors and combinations for the specialty sushi rolls — that’s why we come to Kumo. And the rest of perfectly average. The sushi menu includes both cooked and raw fare, ranging from plain sashimi and basic rolls to ones that are heavily sauces and fried. I often go for the “spicy” rolls, which typically aren’t that spicy but have a little kick that compliments the other flavors. The sashimi selection and quality are also good relative to the price. If you’re feeling adventurous, the chef’s choice let’s you try a little bit of everything. The hibachi side of the restaurant is usually quite busy, and there always seems to be at least one group celebrating a birthday, which means the restaurant is often noisy. The hibachi show is entertaining the first time, but the food is basic and bland, so once was enough for me.

I have been here twice. The Hibachi did is delicious and the quality of food is high. The atmosphere and seating is large, comfortable and open It seems to me that there could be a couple of improvements, that I only bring up to be complete, and give you a full picture ... When you come, time of day, and how busy they are might effect the speed of the dining experience and entertainment offered by the chef. If they need to move you through, it might be a faster and more "to the point" experience. When we came at the later part of an evening, it was a more relaxed and longer experience. ... But both times I noted that they are not equipped to refill drinks. Hot tea with free refills means that you get your hot tea, and then at the end when you get the bill, is your only other chance to ask for more drinks. So the second time we went, we asked about this and they brought out the hot tea in a thin plastic glass that would normally hold cola. So it was too hot to hold, and the tea tasted like plastic. So just a FYI here for you. But overall the price is good, food is good, people and atmosphere is good. Portion sizes are good, also. Enjoy!

The place is clean but when we were there ,the roof was leaking so we had to move to another table. The service is average, had to ask for second refill of drinks , and asked for chopsticks .i ordered for the Bento box teriyaki salmon. It was not as good as the other Japanese restaurants I have been to. I do not highly recommend this place if you are looking for a good Japanese cuisine.

One of the better Japanese restaurants I've been to in a while. Took the family for lunch (5) and walked out for under $85 before tip. Not bad for a good restaurant. Would have been 5 stars but the fried rice was under seasoned. Everything else was great.

Excellent! We enjoyed the show, atmosphere, and the food was incredible! My husband and I enjoyed the Land and Surf which included a filet, lobster, chicken shrimp, and scallops. Everything was cooked perfect. I also enjoyed a couple Lady Dragon martinis! The only negative was that we felt kind if rushed by our server. We were given boxes while we were still eating and almost immediately after that, we got our checks. My husband was still eating. Other than that the server was friendly and prompt.

Kumo's is ALWAYS a great place whether you want to eat as a couple, a family and/or celebrate an event. The soup and salad provided with every Hibachi order is really good, I don't like the ginger so I ask for Ranch instead. I also don't care for the vegetables so I get noodles, but I've never had bad food here. We have had shrimp, lobster, chicken, filet all which I would highly recommend. The owners are both amazing women and very personable. The food does vary some based on your cook but request are allowed. Depending on what you order drink and food wise; plus the tip to the cook ( we always tip the cook in front of others to encourage the same behavior) and the tip to the server it costs about $60 for a party of 2. Can provide pics if anyone is interested. Go to Kumo's if you haven't already been there.

We made reservations for a birthday for 3:00 pm. Although all our guest arrived at 2:55 pm we were not seated until 3:30 pm because we had to wait on a table?!? Is this not why we made a reservation? Whoever took our reservation over the phone asked us as a courtesy to them to come 5 min early and we all did but obviously they were not courtesy to truly reserve a table and have it ready when we arrived like stated on the phone. We were not served until around 4:30 pm. The hibachi chef and waitress were both excellent and the food was amazing. Had it not been for the Hibachi chef and waitress and great food I would have given this a 1 star experience. I cannot say we will come back for a big group event due to having to wait over an hour and half to be served although a reservation was in place. I will try other Hibachi restaurants.

Compared too all other habachi restaurants in town Kumo has the best flavor overall. Amazing sushi, great vegetables, flavor on the rice is excellent and prices seem to be pretty average, a littler higher on certain items but no by much. Only complaint was that we arrived 15 minutes early and our last guest arrived 10 minutes late but they still wouldn't let us seat so we had to stand around for 25 min if this was a busy night I could understand but it was at 2pm so they went busy at all. Not a huge deal but being able to sit down when you already reserved and the table was open it felt pointless to wait in the entry when we could of just sat down.

We have been here four times now and we are never disappointed. We love going to the hibachi grill and bringing friends. Sometimes the wait is a little long but they are good about getting people to tables. Always get a great meal and have a blast sitting at the hibachi grill. We prefer the chicken, steak and shrimp. We always order one of those and are never disappointed. Definitely would recommend for a fun family friendly night.
