This is the best Indian food I've had! They have lots of options whether you are a vegetarian or carnivore. The servers are friendly and the speed of service is usually fast. They have an option or order online or over the phone and carry out. My personal favorite menu item is the vegetable jalfrezi.
This was a disappointment. We ordered the lunch portion size chicken-shrimp curry with rice for $6.99 and the appetizer assortment platter for $6.99. We ordered nothing else but were charged $18.50. The waitress said she had to leave and had to collect our receipt (the one that itemized items) which makes no sense at all. She took the receipt listing our order and said, "Just sign that one," leaving the signature page with the total on it for me to charge my card. But it helped in keeping me from understanding the high balance was either a mistake or skimming. Also the entire appetizer platter consisted of a ball of mashed potatoes wrapped in flour and fried and one of the sauces - the red one with onions was fermented. There were no peas or other veggies in our samosas or other appetizers. Disappointed to say the least. We tipped well despite the mistakes - i didnt realize the overcharge was certain til after we had paid both meal and tip cuz the waitress "left early." She said.
Great food
Small but quiet and very clean location. Menu was not difficult to understand. When I didn’t see what I wanted on the menu, I asked for it and was told they had it. I ordered and my food came out within about 8 minutes. The food was good, however, I feel like the portion sizes are quite small for the price. The food is a bit pricey but overall is a good bite. Probably won’t come back for lunch often due to such high price but I will say the food was pleasant and served within a very good turnaround. Both waiters were very polite and prompt with their service.
Quality Indian food. Prices are a little high in my opinion
Good no a spicy as i thought it would be i got a level 4. Next i will get a 6
Fast service, good spice level to food, reasonable prices
I've tried 3 or 4 Indian restaurants around Cincinnati and this place surprised me. Chicken tikka masala is my typical comparison dish, and WOW was it good here. The naan was excellent as well. The lunch portion was small but big enough to get me through the day. The seating is limited but had plenty of open tables when I was there. The wait staff was attentive and courteous. Facility was clean and well kept, prices were on par with similar restaurants.
1st time here and we had a very enjoyable dinner. Food was excellent and the Indian lager beer paired well with our meal. I had shrimp masala at spice level 4. Perfect! Service was also very good.
Super sweet staff and amazing fresh hot food
Good chiken masala
Excellent service. Friendly and kind staff. Delicious food. Fair prices. Great portions. What is not to love. Highly recommended.
Goat Curry was fantastic!
Been looking for and India food restaurant ever since I tried for the first time and this place lived up to it. Was even better the second time around.
I thought there won't be an Indian restaurant that can get 3 stars from new. But here we go. Their biryani and naan are good, but everything else is so over salted! I've been there few times and everytime I had to drink a gallon of water to overcome the taste. Oh well. There are more options in the area.
Service was really good was quite comfortable here
I ordered chicken jalfrezi and chicken vindaloo both at a 4 spicy level. Jalfrezi is supposed to be rich and creamy and red, I got a yellowish soup that was as spicy as a bell pepper and tasted no different from the vindaloo which was also incredibly bland and disappointing. I also ordered a vegetarian dish that tasted no different than the jalfrezi or vindaloo and was also soupy. The rice was also undercooked. I will not be returning to this place again.
I got take out and it was a nice and easy experience. The man was very nice and the food was good. I got chicken curry, a spice level of 3. I typically am satisfied with level of 3 but next time I'm going to do a 4. I recommend knowing what spice level you typically do, then go 1 above it. I'll definitely be back for more! I'll change my rating to a 5 star if I get the level 4 and it's better.
We came at lunch, and being our first time there we asked the waitress for her recommendations. We we're not disappointed. In recommend this place.
Rivals the rich flavor and texture of uptown greats Krishna and Ambar. Friendly waitstaff!
Really nice peaple
good food and nice family. haven't had any issues. i always get chicken tikka masala, level 2 and garlc naan. my daughter gets the aloo saag and plain naan.
Great food and great prices! Also are you open on Christmas?
Great food! Everything I've had there is absolutely delicious. The staff are also great! Make sure to get a Mango Lassi it was AMAZING.
Delivers to home for order greater than 25$.rice little harder.curry dishes were good
One of my favorite places to go. Sooo good
Excellent food and service, with courteous and friendly staff. Recommend you visit. Best Indian food in our region.
Great food, reasonably priced for dinner menu. Great vegetarian selection. My sister had lamb and lived it. Will definitely go back.
Solid Indian cuisine
I've ordered online through Yelp and EatStreet multiple times and food is prepared fast and accurately. My favorite dish here is the Saag Paneer, but have had Chicken Tikka and Chicken Tikka Masala and all are great. Default spiciness is a little hot for my family, but at the extreme asking for a low spice is appropriate for people with a low tolerance for spice, and the highest spice level is pretty hot (although perhaps not as hot as the chefs at Taj Mahal will sometimes make it). Naan is pretty indistinguishable from other Indian restaurants. Vegetable samosas were pretty good, but not as good as the main courses. All in all, Jai India is one of the best Indian restaurants in Cincinnati for my taste. Their food is really good and they are very consistent.
Consistently good
Fantastic service and fantastic food!
Fast service, friendly staff, very tasty dishes
Very friendly .. Amazing food
Excited to see this restaurant. Service was fast and staffs were super nice. I will try other dishes as there are so many options.
Years ago it was good, has gone downhill in quality and taste
Service was wonderful! Food was ok. Ordered Raita to go with my meal...no cucumbers, tomatoes or potatoes. It did not taste good. Will not go back. I've been spoiled by other Indian restaurants that are soo much better.
The chicken tikka masala was not creamy enough/too acidic and there was no option of purchasing a side vegetable, only as a main course.
Very disappointed. Sauce seemed saturated in grease, and lacked flavor. Wait staff sat in the corner of the restaurant and stared at us the entire time. Won't go back.
Good food, good prices. All you really need in a restaurant
Best Indian food in Cincy.
Great food
Great lil restaurant
It has poor taste
This is my favorite restaurant in Cincinnati, period. Well, next to Orchids, but different categories. They offer a number of different types of Naan (cheese, chicken, onion, garlic, etc.), and they are all simply fantastic! The korma, tikka masala, vindaloo, curry, etc. are all fantastic, and the owners do a great job of dialing the heat in with a scale that matches American tastes (I order medium, and unlike a lot of Indian restaurants, I can still taste the second half of the dish). I love the ambiance, too. Small and intimate. One of these days, the owners will add a soft drink machine, instead of $1.50 for a CAN of COKE (i.e., "BYOC"). Upon that day, I will have reached Nirvana.
Good food but slightly expensive
Yummy food, freshly made. I have cravings for this place.
If I could eat here everyday of the week I swear I would! Great fast service, and AMAZING FOOD! Definitely my favorite Indian restaurant :)
Really good neighborhood Indian restaurant and pretty inexpensive.
Great food and service!
Food here is always great and plentiful. Fast and fair prices. Great price point.
Chicken Tikka Masala is so good! The shredded chicken instead of whole chicken, makes it a 10/10 meal. Would recommend.
The food is wonderful and the service excellent.
Very friendly, clean, and most of all delicious
They have really excellent & delicious food. We have tried so many different Indian restaurants in Cincinnati, but this one is really different. We enjoyed Paneer Chilie, Dal Makhani, Paneer Pakoras. Everybody was very nice and very helpful too. Go for it.
“ Excellent environment, friendly service, great menu choices and really decent food and affordable prices. Will be back soon “
They have really good food and the staff is very friendly!
Amazing authentic North Indian food, great service, very friendly
Staff was a little soft spoken, but very friendly and food was exceedingly good.
Very good Punjabi food, delicious
It was a snowy night and their phone lines were down but the service was still incredibly warm and friendly and the food was amazing! This is our new go to Indian restaurant in Cincinnati!
Order take out she took my order pretty quickly, very friendly. Have tried the food yet.
Food was great!
I eat here every time I visit from Chicago. Love, love this place. The flavors are fantastic.
The place is small, but clean. The food is really good. The service is good too. I would recommend this for dinner or lunch. Prices for lunch portion are around $8.00, for dinner $12.00.
Very fast, good service. The food is high quality and delicious. Very friendly staff. I would give 5 stars, except the server is difficult to understand when he speaks. Even still, I could eat here every day.
I've gone to Jai twice for lunch take away, both times my order was wrong.
Excellent
Smells so good
GREAT FOOD!
Liked the taste and serving quantity.
Great place to eat. The best Indian restaurant in the tri-state area we've eaten at. The spicy level was clear and not too far from each other. It's not buffet style, the Nan bread was fresh and hot. Would definitely visit again.
I have been here at least a dozen times now and their consistency is great. From entering the restaurant to leaving it during lunch took about 30-40 minutes. The food is so delicious! I almost licked my plate clean but people were watching...
After two trips to Chennai with layovers in Bangalore I have samples great restaurants in both north and south India. This is the best Indian food I have had outside of India and certainly the best in Cincinnati.
Friendly staff, consistently good food!
The chicken tikka masala was very good, but their naan is awful. The paneer naan had no cheese in it. Prices are a little high.
Great food, next time well order a few different dishes to try but we try to eat at a new place each week so this was the winner this week.tha k yur for having us.
Small place food was ok
Our favorite Indian restaurant in the Cincinnati area.
Awesome food! Korma was hot and great portions. Will be return again!!
Great service and great food
This place is not very nice to eat. After entering someone welcomed us and he sounded very irritated, after seating on the table some old lady got us some water and was gone for 20 minutes! No one came to take the order, but the funny thing is we can hear them talking and laughing on the kitchen. We left because we were hungry.
Excellent food - best in the area!
Chicken shahi korma was the best I've ever had....I'm talking about an amazing explosion of flavor!! The creamy sauce was so savory. I can't wait to have it again. The atmosphere is family oriented and the staff has a young girl who was in the restaurant with noise making toys. It took away from the atmosphere that I expect, but the food and service was very good.
I frequently get Indian takeout here. Love it. Great flavors. Staff is fantastic. Highly recommended.
There were 16 of us. Great service wonderful tasty dishes we had free papadum. We will definitely be back
Jai India is a hidden gem, a diamond in the rough. Every one working there was so friendly, especially the chef. The server let us know that everything can be customized so I added aloo, tomatoes, and peppers to my Lamb Curry. Also, if you haven’t tried Bhatura get it instead of a traditional naan it is so delicious and flaky perfect with any saucy dish! I would also recommend dining in as the atmosphere is so warm and inviting. I can’t wait to come back!
Good Indian food. Definately the best in this part of town.
This is our go to place for a lunch date. Great food... nice and quite.
This is the best Indian food I have ever eaten. Go here!!!
First time was a charm. Only customers. Fast service and spot on lamb dishes. Choose heat level. Chutney made in house and it is sooo good.
Great friendly staff great chicken curry I can eat here every day didn't think I would love it but my client hooked me on and I'm in love
Delicious food reasonably priced
Very good food!
It’s a good foods!!!
Food is very delicious and the staff is also very friendly.
Worst food. It smelled awful. I would never recommend anyone
Great food?
Excellent Indian food. My whole family, kids and all love coming here. Highly recommended!
Authentic Indian food and great service!
Food is terrific!!! Everyone there very kind
Family owned and operated. Fresh hot food made to order. Decor is quaint. Service is always with smile. Sometimes it's hard to understand what the waitress says because if beautiful accent but her wonderful attitude and kindness is unmistakable
Great Indian food! Everything I've had has been the best. Eat here at least once a week.
Another let down. This place is very Americanized, presumably North Indian restaurant. All curries taste like cream cheese soup. Goat curry was boneless and tasted like cream cheese soup. The Biryani is in no way Biryani. It was more like boiled rice with Chili Powder. I do not recognize this as an authentic Indian Restaurant.
The vegetable pakora had a really good ginger flavor. Probably the most flavorful that I've had in the US. Really good. The Dal Makhani was as good as I hoped for. Everything was made with low spice for my girlfriend. She never had Indian food before, and she's now excited to try more.
The food is great
In staff Kim is really awesome but with respect to food...I ordered chicken biryani...awful is the word...veg pulao with chicken....very very bad
Their food is wonderful, they are very friendly!
Consistently Great food!
Wonderful freshly prepared a la carte Indian specialities.
Were from Dayton and I think we have found a new place to dine after Temple on Wednesdays. Food was excellent and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Even helped us find other restaurants in the area. We will be regulars here!
Very tasty Indian food! I recommend the Tikka Misala!
Several in our party felt I'll afteerwards....food tasted old
Carryout tonight was very Good! Loved the Garlic Naan; Spice level was right on point; Chicken Tikka Marsala could be a bit creamier and a little more chicken for the price ; but overall very satisfied!
Amazingly good Indian cuisine from a tiny restaurant. Clean with friendly service.
Nice service, great food. Love the Mango Lassi
Great curry, friendly staff. Definitely worth a visit.
It was a little off the beaten path so we thought it would be great. It was nice, but the food didn't seem fresh. The lamb was wonderfully spicy, but was a little over cooked.
Great service and great food
Curry shrimp and nana bread was fabulous. Maybe a little overpriced for the portion though.
Extremely friendly staff, food is high quality and fairly priced. Come here if you've never tried Indian food!
A nice little Indian restaurant. Family owned and operated, food is always tasty and fresh.
Went for lunch today - excellent food! We ordered a few dishes for as many people and enjoyed it family style. Everything was amazing! Tried the saag vindaloo, and jalfrezi. Highly recommend everything. Spice level was lower than equivalent levels at other Indian restaurants, so if you like things to have a kick I’d go up a level or two from what you might order at other restaurants.
Quiet venue, kind and courteous staff, very clean, and most importantly very yummy food. I personally enjoy the chicken tikka masala. Food was also fairly priced.
Great lunch, reasonably priced
Great, slightly Americanized Indian food
Staffs are very nice. Fast serving and good service
Great staff, accommodated our toddler needs well. Great Saag (lamb and paneer).
The best Indian in the city
Casual atmosphere with excellent food.
I was honestly very disappointed in my meal here, other than the bread everything was overpriced and underwhelming for what I ordered. The lamb entrée had very little meat for the cost, next to no vegetables, and was not adequately spicy for the five I requested (out of six). the Allou were not spiced at all, and had no vegetables other than potatoes mixed in, but they did come out very quickly. The service was spotty, the CD that was playing the music kept skipping, and the tables next to the windows were absolutely freezing cold. I have heard good things, but I don't believe it now quite honestly
