This Restaurant belongs to the category of Italian restaurant.
Had an amazing time at the bar with great friends during Devour Indy
Very average food at best. Probably the worst chicken Parmesan I ever ate. Their fry oil needs to be changed as the breading on the chicken was very dark and there was hardly any cheese. How do you screw up chicken Parmesan?? Italian Wedding soup is a very small 6oz bowl and certainly not worth the $5. They used rice in place or Orzo. Many better Italian restaurants in town - even Olive Garden is better. Ambiance was nice but I definitely wouldn’t come back the next time I crave Italian food.
Seriously some of the best Italian food I've had. My chicken parmesan was on point, spaghetti and pizza were equally on point. My husband said his scallops were enjoyable. A little pricey but worth going back again!
I frequent this restaurant for lunch. LOVE IT!! Very nice people, great food, great service. Highly recommend!
Great hidden gem in the city! Amazing establishment and fantastic food. I prefer the porkchop with double starch but everything on the menu is fanominal and I would always recommend sitting at the bar with Dave and Phil. I look forward to returning and enjoying some live music!
Favorite place to go for Italian. Incredible. Make a reservation before you go.
Food is delicious. Service is beyond amazing. My family and I love going here. You have to try the lasagna. Be warned once you do you may never get anything else!
We had a wonderful date night here. Its just a short walk from the main downtown area of Indy. Its a small restaurant but the food and service are superb. The waitress went above and beyond with recommendations and bar drinks. Wish this place was near our hometown because we would eat here all the time. Found this on trip advisor and glad I went. Food and staff were amazing. A special thanks to Joyce for making the night fun! Overall a 5 star place to visit
Excellent service. Adorable restaurant. Incredible food. Try the lasagna or the pesto fettuccine.
Great food service and atmosphere
Wife and I frequent here for date night. The food is 5 star italian at a 3 star price. We love there. Fun talking to the family who runs it and the staff who seem like family to them!
I had Fresh Fish of the Day, it was amazing!
Our server Dale was like a perfect food sherpa guiding us through an excellent meal. The salads were a tasty start to the meal with a delicious light dressing on it. The two entrees we had were both filling and very satisfying. Dale was great about explaining the courses and mentioning subtleties like the dish he brought out being for the discarded clam shells. We were very pleased with the meal and service and will be back again!
Amazing food and drinks and a wonderful server!
The environment is really great looking, however it was extremely loud. (No fault of the staff) our service was great! Food came out at a timely fashion and our server was amazing. The issue is the price for the quality of food. Nothing about the dishes stood out and to be honest, I've had better for a fraction of the price. But it is to be expected for a downtown restaurant. I would only go back again for the 3 course dinner for 2 at $50..... and the lemonchello. Maybe I caught the chef at a bad time or maybe I just got to worked up in the hype. Ether way, just be prepared to spend some cash.
OH MY GOSH! They have gluten free pasta and alfredo. I am in heaven and will be back! Loved it!!
Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside and patio are great. Great service and food
Traveled to Indy for our anniversary and Iozzo's did not disappoint!
It was amazing!! Lasagna to DIE for
I'm a huge fan of Italian and Iozzo's was highly recommended to me on Google. So I took a date there and was extremely pleased by everything about it. The service was excellent, atmosphere was very clean and cozy, and the food was fantastic. My only (very minor) gripe is that the tables are really close together so it can be harder to hear at times when a lot of people are talking. I think this makes it part of a family atmosphere which I really enjoy, just know that going into the restaurant. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to take their date on a nice Italian meal.
Always love Iozzo's, the atmosphere, the meals and the service. It is a true trifecta.
If you’re in Indianapolis and looking for a great Italian restaurant check out Iozzo’s. Now don’t be disillusioned from the outside appearance or neighborhood, because once you step inside you’ll fall in love with the food. All of the scratch dishes, including sauces, are made to order and packed with a lot of love. They have so many options and entrees to choose from, including gluten free pasta. No doubt you need to check this place out. Looking for authentic Italian in the heart of Indianapolis? Look no further! Amazing handmade pasta and intimate atmosphere will surely not disappoint!
Great atmosphere. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary there tonight. The food was amazing topped only by the service we received from our server Gregory.
Great outside dining! We had a wedge salad, a meatball martini, fettuccine with pesto, Italian lemon cake and spumoni ice cream. A delicious feast, great service and beautiful setting!
Good food, really nice people working there
I loved the atmosphere! The staff was also very attentive. Unfortunately the 4 stars comes from the food being somewhat average (at least what I got and I would like to try again). The veal and pasta were very dry. I thought it seemed overpriced for this fact.
More upscale but worth every penny. We each had a different parmesan meal. Chicken & eggplant. Excellent X2 for both. Great service. The appetizers and salads were perfectly timed never felt rushed. Go midweek because some tables inside are a bit close but there is outside dining too. Parking kinda sketchy since its downtown. There is a sampler meal that comes with even dessert (neighboring table got that) The "for 2" size IS enough for 2 VERY hungry people.
Atmosphere was great. We dined in the outdoor area. The service was outstanding. I really enjoyed the house salad, the toasted ravioli appetizer, and the miniature cannolis for dessert. I ordered the lasagna for my main entree, but I was not impressed with it. Overall it was a nice experience except for the entree.
Amazing food, and service.
Good food, however soup was only luke warm and well done meat was still pink in the middle.
Best Italian I've had in Indy! Everything was perfect!
Fantastic food, great staff, fun crowd, gorgeous place! If I lived in Indy I would be here all the time!
Decent Italian, personable staff, consistent.
The restaurant was nice and small. The staff was friendly. The food was tasty and the right amount.
Good food & service. Even with large group, didn't automatically add gratuity, which means alot. Very efficient & friendly family run business. Will return.
Wonderful unique place. Outstanding service. The food is incredible
My wife & I are regulars & can't get enough of Iozzp's Garden of Italy! The service is always top notch as is the food!
My wife and I have been visiting this place for over 10 years. It's always a very good experience. Food is delicious and wait staff is always friendly and attentive. Great place to take family and friends as well.
This local gem has hosted everyone from the working lunch crowd to the Rolling Stones. They treat their regulars especially well but you're here for the food so let's get to that. It is fantastic. The picatta is awesome and their meatballs are very good. The lasagna is layered with red AND white sauce. The bread is about as perfect as it gets and they give you fresh tomatoes pressed into quality olive oil for dipping. It's fancy enough I can take important clients there, but not pretentious. It doesn't turn off the older crowd with too much noise, bright colors, or experimental menu fusions. But it also ingratiates the younger crowd with intimate tables, fine service and very professional attitudes. Highly recommend.
Great food and experience.
First time here and got the taste of Iozzo. It was amazing, some of the best Italian I have had, granted I haven't eaten at many of authentic or near authentic Italian restaurants so I was very excited to eat here. The prices were a little high, but that is to be expected of high quality food in Indianapolis. Staff were very friendly and provided great service. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for good food and atmosphere.
We got a soccer game rained out at Central Catholic and all of a sudden traffic in every direction was red on Waze. we decided the best thing to do was find a good place to eat dinner and let some of the traffic go by and boy are we glad we did. My 12 year old boy said the pizza was the best he ever had. I had the black and blue gnocchi. Amazing. Service and staff we're appropriately engaged without interrupting.
Shocking. Simply shocking how good this lasagna is. I walked several miles longing for good Italian (it was a nice day) and while I would have settled for good (because “good Italian” is hard to find), I was stunned to encounter GREAT italian food. If you are longing for GREAT Italian food, stop looking and start walking!
Date night amazing food as well as drinks bartender was awesome thanks for a grate time every time Iozzos
Service was fantastic!! Food was excellent. Seasoned perfectly. Atmosphere and noise level made for an exceptional dining experience.
I have been coming here for years! The service and food never disappoints! We sat on the patio last night it was gorgeous out! Thank you! ❤️
Excellent food. There is an outdoor seating area that is pleasant and nit as noisy as inside.
Good food great atmosphere
We have been loyal Iozzo's customers for the past 10 + years. On June 7 we have made reservations through OpenTable at 7:15 with 2 of our friends. We were excited, telling them it was "the best". We arrived at 7:16 p.m. and were right away seated at the table immediately next to the host stand, despite our request to sit elsewhere. "Next available table is more than 1 hour away". We could see several empty clean tables outside and quite a few inside. Our waiter seemed new. She was not very friendly from the beginning, and not helpful. She didn't know much about their wine list and didn't get anyone to help when we asked. We ordered appetizers and asked for bread with their usual buschetta. Waitress answered: "I will bring bread when I bring your salads". We were all in shock, as in the past any waiter would answer: "Absolutely". We ordered appetizers and in couple more minutes she came to take our main orders. I wanted to order my favorite pork chop Milanese, but the waiter warned me (in a unfriendly manner): "I have to give you heads up, because we are very busy, it will take at least one hour fifteen minutes for your pork chop." I ordered Veal Marsala instead, after waitress promised that it would take at least 45 mins. As she finished taking our orders, we repeated our request for the bread with bruschetta. "I will bring it when I will be bringing your salad". In the next 1.5 hr we observed people come, get seated, get food and leave. At 9:15 I had to call manager and inform him that we were sitting for 2 hours with no food, and that waitress was very mean and not helpful. He offered free meal. Food quickly appeared, but it was obvious it was cooked in 5 minutes. Pasta was hard, and seafood was raw. They charged us $130 for two bottles of wine and appetizers, but never substituted mean waitress, who stayed with us till end, and never apologize. May be OpenTable reservations are treated as least worthy? Iozzo is off the list. Pity.
We arrived for lunch right after opening and were sat promptly. We however were never greeted or offered beverages. So after 10-15 min we left.
Pasta was watery and bland. Service felt rehearsed. Ambience was cute, older building on the corner. The price however was outrageous considering the quality, quantity and location.
For the taste of food vs the price I didnt care for it
Normally with a restaurant, you are going to start a review by rating the food. Instead, I would like to note the superb staff at Iozzo's. The hostess, bartender, our waitress, and the busser were all attentive, polite, friendly, and helpful, even on a busy Saturday night during prime time. In addition, the food was delicious. A friend and I shared the shrimp Florentine pasta and a roasted pork ragu pasta - both were so flavorful, with some heat to back up the sauces. I liked the shrimp better than the pork, which is unusual for me in that matchup. Before our entrees, the four of us split an Italian meats pizza, which was crispy, chewy, salty, savory, and gooey (for the cheese). I would happily order that as my entree next time. And the people in our group who had been there before swore by the tiramisu - it did not disappoint!
Pretty decent price for the quality and quantity of food you get. Staff is nice and humble and offers best food in town.
This little gem has the most authentic offerings on their menu, each freshly prepared. You could tell it is a local favorite as it quickly filled with people that seemed to know the staff well. The piccata was excellent!
Amazing food! Great customer service!!
I am a lover of Italian food and I was born in Europe. I will say this: I have no complaints about the service. The food, on the other hand, tasted reheated and mediocre at best. Plenty of other great options for authentic Italian food in Indianapolis.
Best Italian place I've ever ate at. Had a special request for a promposal and did a phenomenal job. Wish I could put more than 5 stars
Stopped in close to closing time after 2 long days of driving from Colorado so tired I could have cried. Nikki and the gang welcomed me and my service dog with warmth and grace. I had THE best glass of chianti of my life, a perfectly ripe caprese, and incredible bread with a tomato sauce I could have drank. They even helped me figure out what area of town I should stay and hooked me up with a literal doggie bag for my girl's dinner so I didn't have to track down dog food.
The food is excellent and the staff is friendly and efficient..especially Blake our waitress she's great. She always has a smile...We'll keep coming back...the Chicken Parmesan is excellent and the Penne Chicken too...plus try the Basil garlic cheese bread..Yum
Good pasta, great vibe, friendly staff. Super accommodating to bringing our infant. One of my three favorite Italian restaurants in Indy.
I ordered a Brick Oven Pizza, and the Lady order the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken & broccoli. We had the Raviolis appetizer and it was excellent. Our order was lost in the rush, the waiter came and kindly informed us so we waited extra long for our meal. To my surprise they only billed us for our appetizer and drinks. Very nice atmosphere. Very nice place to take your date. And without asking they take extra care of their customers.
Had the fettuccini Alfredo with blackened chicken and it was delicious. Excellent service and a good atmosphere make this a worthwhile stop.
Best italian food in Indy. The servers and bartenders are really friendly and very attentive. The chicken diavolo is amazing and super spicy. Great lasagna with red and white sauce. Their house wine is also amazing. Cant recommend this place enough; everything thing ive had is delicious!
Wow! Great food and excellent service!
We went there for an anniversary dinner date and got the Tour of Italy for two meal and it was wonderful. The place is so popular reservations need to be made at least two (2) weeks in advance or expect to eat early or very late. The Spumoni ice cream is to die for. We had a great dining experience. We will not eat Italian food anywhere in Central Indiana ever again. Great food, great service and great atmosphere.
My husband and I came here last year for our anniversary and we loved it so much, we decided to make it a tradition. The service, the food, and the atmosphere is amazing. The waiters are so friendly and attentive, and they always make recommendations on what we should try. The prices are a bit high, but worth every penny. You are paying for not only great authentic Italian food, but for the wonderful and laid back atmosphere. Would highly recommend!!
Everything from the time I walked in to the time I left was wonderful. Well done!
Soup and salad mediocre. Meal good going. Service excellent.
Fantastic! Everything from the delicious food, courteous wait staff, and crafted cocktails was excellent! We'll definitely return soon.
Great food great service a delicious food option.
Wonderful food and great service from David!
Amazing food, gray service and wonderful atmosphere! Best house salad on the planet and grilled salmon; just two of our favorites.
Lived it!! Highly recommended. Service was great and the food was awesome!!
Very Accommodating for a wedding party of 30. One of the waitress seemed a bit impatient, (older Lady) but the young gentleman waiter and young lady waitress were super nice.Food was good.
Great service at the bar, delicious meal.
This was my first time dinning there will be back the food was Very good, service was as well
My parents had reservations here for their 30th anniversary. I recommended them this place as it is my favorite Italian restaurant EVER. They had excellent service and my dad made the comment that it was the best meal he’s ever had. They even completed the meal with two complementary glasses of champagne to celebrate the occasion. Thank you so much for making their anniversary so special! We look forward to coming back soon.
Iozzo's Garden of Italy just might be my favorite restaurant. I have tried and loved at least 6 of their classic Italian dishes. All so good! I really enjoy the chicken diavolo. Spicy and savory. Iozzo's also has a very good drink selection, whether you are in the mood for a good wine, craft beer, or craft cocktail.
Amazing food and fantastic service! Definitely will be back!
A real treasure of a local family owned and operated business. Be sure to ask the bartender grandson if the original owner and his grandfather ever served time (wink), but in a good way, lol. Incredible food and service, great value. Just go and enjoy. And if you are from the area then count your blessings because you can go back again and again.
The atmosphere was so calm. And the food was pretty good ! I went there for my friends birthday and they got free ice cream cake . The staff was so nice to us : we even went a little bit over the closing time (sorry about that ) I will definitely come back ! And those painting on the walk are just dope
My spouse and I were craving Italian food last weekend. We ran down many options and finally I remembered Iozzo’s Garden. We had a great calamari appetizer and I had Lasagna. Both were fantastic. My spuse had gnocchi fettuccine (if I remember correctly). It was very good, but the lasagna out-did the gnocchi. Again, very good food, service, atmosphere. Thank you for a wonderful night Iozzo’s!
1st time trying and it didnt disappoint. Casual atmosphere at the bar waiting on our table. Very friendly staff. Will definitely go back.
Found this gem by Google search while in Indy on business. The place is unbelievable. Ask about the history and pick anything off the menu. It is well worth it. Finish off the meal with homemade lemon cello. Next time I am in town I will be back. I had the smoked mozzarella ravioli with a side of meatballs and I am still in awe. My friends had the lasagna and 1 of them spent years in Italy... he was blown away.
Great food! Didn't like that owner came onto my fiancee.
First of all, the meatballs are perfect. Big and not too bready, well seasoned. Secondly, they are extremely generous with cheese, cream and butter in their sauce recipes. That makes for deliciousness at every turn.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. The food was fantastic, and our server Phil had a multitude of excellent recommendations on everything from the courses and wines to the desert. I will make it a point to visit this restaurant every time I'm in Indy if I can.
