This place was came highly recommended so we drove about 30 mins for the food. We tried samosas, paneer, and curry. All were excellent! Went well with the garlic naan. Our waiter and the manager made sure we were well taken care of. We hope to go back sometime soon for the weekend or lunch buffet to try a variety of dishes!

Though I'm not a vegetarian, I find their vegetarian dishes are a delight! My favorite is the cabbage - who on earth could love cabbage? - but the way THEY do it in coconut oil, sweet and crunchy at the same time, is incredible! Because of their flavorful, creative way with vegetables, I find myself craving them as much as their meat dishes. And don't forget dessert! Kheer and mango pudding are winners! The staff are friendly and make you feel like family. Really, it's worth the one hour drive we make each week!

This is really authentic, HOT Indian food. OK portions and lots of flavor, too. My two biggest concerns have to do with the service. It was both unenthusiastic (not hostile, just not happy) and fairly slow. We got a Tandoori dish at a spice level 2 out of 10, and will probably shoot for a 1 next time. Not a huge fan of spice.

If you can get past the plastic cutlery and cups, you are in for a treat. Good Indian street food and dishes you'd expect from a traditional Indian restaurant in the US or Ohio. I don't even remember all I had, because I didn't order from the menu. The owner just brought out the goodness. Mind you I was with someone who had been there before and don't know if that kind of service is typical (the getting of random dishes).

First time in here, and I was not impressed. I did not like most of the food on the buffet, too soft and mushy, all textures are very similar. Expensive, cramped booth seating made for the tiniest of people, and random odd smells.

This might be the best place in Richmond to eat and it brings in sorely needed culture as well. Fantastic naan with amazing chutneys to start. The menu is very diverse with many classic favorites. I had the curry goat and was I ever pleased. I ordered it at a 10 for maximum heat and they managed to make it super hot without compromising the rest of the dish. Although I've promised myself never to return to Richmond, if I did, I would stop here again.

It was a very nice experience for Indian food. I had the grilled medley of chicken, shrimp and lamb. Note- the grilling of the food cranks up the hot spices a tad. I like my food mild and having the hotness rated at 2 was almost too spicy for me. We will be back. Don't forget to get the kher for dessert.

The staff alone makes the experience great, but the food is unbelievable. If you love Indian food you will understand how much this place is rockin it...if you have never tried Indian food this place will make you a believer. If you're traveling through do yourself a favor and pay these folks a visit!

Not everything on the buffet is spicy and when you order from the menu, you can have it as spicy as you like or just the flavor without the heat.

You can't go wrong with Naan Bread to dip in the sauce from your dish! They offered my son ice cream after he was done eating, which was very sweet. Also very clean.

Really good food. 1-10 hot spice scale is slightly skewed. They have spice levels set to what I "call Americanized levels" so don't be afraid to go high on the level if you like spicy Indian food.

Excellent authentic Indian cuisine. Coldest beer in town. Indian hospitality is unequalled, making for superb service. Everyone is always smiling. Lunch buffet is a great option. So many options on the menu. I personally love the Gobi Manchurian (a spicy calflower appetizer) and the Lamb Curry, but try anything, everything. The Nan (bread) is exceptional too. Plenty of parking, table availability. Absolutely perfect for partys, intimate dining, casual or dress up. You'll love it.

This place was a nice surprise and lived up to the positive reviews. We had chicken korma, lamb curry, and naan and it was all delicious. Service was prompt and helpful, and food arrived quite quickly (they were not that busy despite being a Saturday evening). Only negative was the rice seemed to be on the old side.

I live in New Castle and refuse to eat at the Indian restaurant here and Cambridge City. Instead if I want to eat in a clean Indian restaurant with the best foods and service, I drive over to Richmond to Gulzars where im never disappointed. Beautiful restaurant ran by beautiful people!

Great service, and delicious and flavorful food! There are many vegetarian options to choose from. I will definitely be back to try more. We ordered the Saag Paneer, Shrimp Bhuna, and the Paneer Naan and Garlic Naan as appetizers. The flavors were amazing. The menu is great and explains what is in every dish. We ordered ours with a spiciness of level 3. Just enough to get some heat but not overwhelmingly hot. The portions are huge so we had leftovers. My new favorite restaurant I have been wanting to try since they opened!

This place is phenomenal! It's a sparkling Indian gem tucked away on East side of National Road in Richmond, IN. The curry is definitely has the spotlight, but I have to admit that I do always remember to get the Mango Milkshake. Best piece of advice for newcomers of Indian cuisine, would be to try their lunch buffet. It will give you an excellent idea of what you may want to order of off the dinner menu. Another wonderful aspect if Indian cuisine is the array of spices used in the dish. Fret not those with sensitive taste, the buffet items are normally on the mild side of spice, but don't be afraid to order around the half way mark on the spicy scale. All and all, I'm happy to have found this place and I hope the Proprietors the best and a long prosperous business. Side note: Gulzar's sports a very modesty vegetarian selection for your vegan buds.
