Here you will see all the reviews of real people who know the services and products of Folie Restaurant (Restaurant) near Indiana.
Now the business has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 and that rating has been based on 91 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is very high, and it's based on a high number of feddbacks, so we may say that the evaluation is quite reliable. If there are many people who bothered to leave their review when they are happy, it works.
As you know, we don't usually bother to give scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant is classified in the category of New American restaurant.
Fantastic food but pretty pricey
We went here for our anniversary. Awesome place!! Perfect for a higher end need, but keep in mind the higher end prices. Coat check was a great touch.
This is a restaurant Lafayette truly needed. It is upscale and well done. Food preparation is exceptional but portion sizes for vegetables/sides are almost nonexistent. I under the focus on the main, but vegetables are cheap, so just 3, half-inch carrots is even cheaper. Next, I recognize that they have a limited menu so they can focus on the best ingredients and experience, but I think it is too small. There wasn't even a green salad option on the menu. Finally, they really should offer a token spoon or cupcake or something for dessert on the house when it became clear we were there for a birthday. It's not about free dessert, it's about celebrating WITH the patrons and a gesture of family. I had to give them 4 stars because the food and service really are excellent.
Excellent atmosphere, service, and food selection. They do a great job with steak here and they rotate their menu seasonally which is great to keep fresh selections. John Gorup is the man for bringing such fine dining to Lafayette!
Unique food. Excellent quality. Great sevice.
Amazing food!
Yum yum! Best huevos rancheros I've ever had.
Visited the restaurant for dinner prior to the Knicks game. Everything was good. We had the meatball flatbread, and glazed bacon (very thick cut) as apps. Dinner was the salmon and the hangar steak. All was good, if even a little over seasoned (salty). Pricey at $17 for a thin flatbread. Otherwise the portions were fine and NYC priced competitively. The vibe was positive and it is more suitable for a bar scene than a quiet dinner, but not bad at all. Service was good and people were friendly.
Nice atmosphere. Good service and presentation. The mussels were extraordinary.
Excellent service, and the food was great. Meats were all perfectly done, and portions were generous. I would go back!
Surprised. Prices are $20-30 but well worth it. It was amazing and large portions.
Outstanding! The best food and service in Lafayette by far!
Loved this place. The rotating menu was full of options to explore, and the ambiance was lively, but not so loud that it lost the elegance. My girlfriend and I will definitely come back soon.
Went there for brunch and everything was delicious. Had the waffle + fruits + cappuccino. Perfect. Not too sweet and generous portion of fruits! Very tasty, nice foam on cappuccino, clean, modern, airy space. Lovely! Will definitely be back!!
Service was excellent food was exceptional. Atmosphere was awesome. I had the fennel encrusted pork chop it was flavorful and tender. Would definitely go there again!
Folie is a great stop for fine dining in Downtown Lafayette. From seasonal menus to specialty dinners, Folie offers a wide variety of tastes in the local area. Whether you're omnivorous, vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free, Folie has many options to suit your tastes! Reservations are definitely recommended for the the best overall experience, but walk ins are also welcome!
Just went to Folie for the first time. This restaurant is new to downtown Lafayette and I would recommend it to anyone. The food and drinks were well crafted and the service was top notch. We will be going back soon!
Wonderful nouvelle cuisine and friendly service.
Great food and service. Large portions for brunch
Entered restaurant not sure which way to enter. Two doors available one said 21 and over to enter and other was open. I walked to the right and found a hostess. Since I was alone I decided to go to the bar. Hostess did not offer to walk or direct me. I found my way and sat down. There were about 5 employees behind he bar. I sat for 8 minutes without anyone greeting me. There were only two other guests sitting at the bar. I was greeted with "hi can I see your ID?". Then I had to asks for the menu and wine list. I reviewed the wine list and ordered a Laluca Prosecco rose and was told it was the last glass. During entire glass of wine about seven guests remained in the bar area. It was very loud and echoed. It was hard not to hear others conversations. I could not imagine if it was busy. The bartender brought an amuse-bouche which was a nice light bite of raw fish it was seasoned well and was balanced. Probably best part of experience. On my way out I decided to check out dining room there was about three tables dining at the time. Again very loud and voices echoed easily. I could not imagine noise level if it were full. I have frequented most restaurants in downtown Lafayette. Folie appears to mimic some long standing staples in the downtown area..... I guess imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I will come back and try the food however I hope they find their own niche.
Great food and outstanding service!!!
Ну рестораном это назвать сложно ))). Это очень приличное кафе с хорошей едой и вином. Мясо очень приличное. Обслуживание отличное - может потому, что нас было человек 15 и все иностранцы?
This place has really great food. The trend for a lot of other places seem to be over-seasoning their food -- typically the thing to do when heavy drinking is involved, or covering for the lack of freshness in ingredients/fish/etc. Folie seasons their food just right and the food accompanies their drink menu very well. We really liked how they prepared their fish and seafood-- not overcooked, not over-seasoned, and very fresh; generally difficult to find even in larger cities like Chicago. A real gem here in the Lafayette area... keep up the great work!
I had an amazing dinner at Folie. Mushroom leek soup with chorizo to start and the hubby had seafood paella and I got the duck confit tagliatelle. Service was excellent - great job Rachel!
Excellent meal! Our experience was 10 out of 10! Waitress was awesome!, service was 5 star plus!!! Food was off the charts as well!
Food was ok, service was better, atmosphere severely lacking. Won't be back.
Excelente comida, fuimos a celebrar la graduación de mi hijo
Unfortunately I did not have a good experience at folie. Went to a tasting event that disappointed. Half of the courses weren't bad but they also weren't amazing. Two courses were dissapointing, the pork belly needed salt and the "braised" rabbit was dry and contained small pieces of bone. The dessert was exceptional and maybe ordering straight off the menu would be a better experience but with the high prices we won't be returning to give them a second chance.
The Saturday brunch menu is small but attentive to many palates. We had Eggs Benedict Florentine and Heuvos Rancheros. The ladies next to us were enjoying beautiful tall mimosas.
Food here taste awesome and looks delicate. Their soup is astonishing! The environment is also pretty nice with Jazz playing in background. The only drawback is the price is kind of expensive.
Great Place Great Environment Great Food Great Location Awsome People One of a Kind in Lafayette
Wasn’t the best shrimp and grits I’ve ever had. A lot of money for small tasteless portions.
Excellent food and wine selection. We will be back again soon. Great addition to Lafayette.
Alway quick! Great drinks!
Excellent food. Expensive, but worth it.
Wonderful food. Great service
Our first dining experience at Folie was on our anniversary this year in September. Everything from the decor to the service was impeccable. The servers are attentive, quick, and accommodating. They have done a good job finding people that fit the high-end look and feel of this location. The restaurant has faint remnants of what was Kokoro and I am sure that Tony would be proud to see his favorite place in great hands, being renovated and turned into something almost artistic. Our food ranged from duck confit (which was one of the best meals that my wife and I have ever had) to dry aged steak that was so tender and melt in your mouth you might believe it was butter. The cocktail and wine selection is generous and also approachable. With over 30 different wines on the list, it's nice to have options that stray away from the other locales save perhaps Cellar 422. We spent a wonderful evening enjoying the atmosphere, eating, and enjoying the libations. It's a hands down simple answer of yes, you should visit Folie. The question is how quickly can you drive down there? Be sure to set up a reservation and if you have a special event, inform them ahead of time.
The food and atmosphere were amazing. There is no other restaurant like this in Lafayette. My new favorite.
Have been to Folie several times now. The decor is modern and neat. Haven't had food like this in Lafayette since the Maize days. Service is professional and warm. Can't recommend this place enough!!!
Seems to be the destination in Lafayette for fine dining. Efficient menu, good cocktail selections. Pricing feels about 10-15% higher than I would expect, but that may be intentional to get their desired customers. We toured the menu, each having one item from each section. Saffron Risotto was particularly memorable. Service was excellent and the staff really knew their stuff. Two minor issues on our visit: The poached lobster atop the Monkfish was over, and the sauternes ordered with desert was served at room temperature. Still very impressed, and we will return.
This place was horrendous. I know that this is Indiana but at least they can not fake and mess up horrible recreations of fake “French cuisine “ at least they have smitty bread they are the best in town
Food is wonderful and the service was great
Great place. Really lives up to it's expectations. This is one place to be if your in Lafayette.
Outstanding, creative food. Somewhat pricey, but for special occasions, more than worth it.
Great cocktail, small but interesting menu (e.g., duck confit, octopus, beet wellington) that changes frequently. The place is pretty small, ideal for small groups and business meetings.
Amazing food and atmosphere. The style of the restaurant is very modern and chic. Mostly blacks and whites with a pop of green here and there. The pork tenderloin and beef dishes where great. Service was wonderful. Giving four stars since sadly there are no dessert dishes without milk. Was unable to get dessert which is my favorite part. Would be great to have a vegan or non milk based opition.
excellent food and service
Fabulous brunch!!!
Quinoa salad was delicious! Definitely going back to try the other dishes
Great food, but pricey. Extremely noisy. Chair was also uncomfortable. Wine list was put together with care.
The most amazing dining experience!! Every course was perfection. The atmosphere, the wine, the service, all world-class. The food is so good, I get emotional. Can't wait to go back!
It's a welcomed relief to see Lafayette is grow. Folie is a shining example of that growth. It's classy, yet simple atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. The food is just complete madness. The way they bring together different flavor profiles and mouthfeels to bring you a unique experience. I really love the location as well, it's near Bistro 501 and East End Grill with all 3 of these restaurants you get a sense of Food Culture. Folie is a much needed addition to the downtown culture!
