Couldn't even drink the margarita. It was too strong. No flavor to it at all except the alcohol. Waitress took 20 minutes just to bring a refill. Also just brought our food and then left without asking if we needed anything else, only to disappear again. Never asked how everything was or if we needed a refill. Kind sucks that a place that was once good, went downhill when they moved out of that shopping center.

Absolutely love their margaritas! Drink prices are a little high but catch the margarita specials or split a tower with friends.

Went with my grandparents for a birthday meal yesterday, chips were dry and my grandparents enchiladas were extremely salty and beans were cold they didn't finish their meal, they were out of guacamole and I didn't have much food on my plate. Sometimes you go there and have amazing service, sometimes it's okay service, sometimes it's terrible service.. It all depends on who is working that day honestly.

i came here with my family and ordered the salmon tacos. my entire family got their food first and i had to wait another 10 minutes for mine. when i finally got my food, it only had salmon and cabbage. no avocado, pico, or mango salsa, even though all of that was advertised in the special. the salsa and chips were good though.

The inside is shockingly ornate and colorful - actually very well done - lots of talented carving and painting work in the walls, tables, and chairs. There are authentic tacos and all the usual Mexican-American fare you know and love from Mexican restaurants. Food and service was great. We will definitely come back.

The salsa is fresh and delicious, the fajitas were wonderful, and the chocolate chimichanga is fantastic! Only complaint is the tortilla chips seemed a bit stale. I love chips and salsa and am used to the chips being served warm and fresh in a Mexican restaurant, especially on a weekend night. But that's a fairly small thing and didn't ruin the meal that was otherwise great! If not for that I would give 5 stars.

Stopped in for dinner on our way to DC. To my surprise the food was quite flavorful and not bland like several of the Mexican restaurants I'm used to. My boyfriend and I both enjoyed combination plates. I had a chicken enchilada and a taco. He had a chicken quesadilla and a tamale. We both enjoyed what we got and our waitress was attentive.

This place is always a go to spot for authentic mexican cuisine. I frequently dine in both the Hagerstown locations and they have yet to disappoint. The staff is always very attentive and pleasant, the food is always hot, fresh and tasty. On top of the A plus service and food are the unbeatable prices. As far as a full service restaurant goes the prices are more than reasonable, especially for the lunch specials. The white cheese queso is a must have appetizer. I hope you enjoy as much as my family does.

Food is amazing. But. Here's why I gave it one star. Apparently since they have opened, they have charged a small fee if you decide to make an order to go. Just recently I noticed the charge on the receipt. So last time I was there I asked about the charge. Most of the employees speak Spanish and are hard to understand. When I asked they all gathered together at the register and talked about me asking about the charge. Once I got an answer about them always charging the fee I noticed they also rang up my order wrong then they had to call over a manager to fix it, at which time they brought up the take order fee again to him and continued to talk about me again after I was already told about the fee. Before the manager left the register he says we've always charged that fee and walks away. Don't think I'll be going back!!!

One of our go to places now that new opening craze is past. Great location on the south side which seriously lacks in sit down food options. Dining room is really decked out and interesting. Service is now quick and efficient. The food is excellent and portions are large. Great beer selection with regular drink "specials". The salsa is the weakest offering but is passable. Wait staff are great. I will be a regular customer.

Ordered from DoorDash. I ordered two sides of queso dips, instead I got this weird queso-beef mixture stuff. I specified no lettuce on the tacos, they loaded them with lettuce. I ordered a side of beans, and they didn’t even give me the beans. I’m very disappointed. I usually love El Ranchero. This was my first experience at this location and I’ll never eat at that location again.

One of the best places to buy sale items and that usually is meat. Example: chicken breast skinless and boneless $0.88 a pound in a 10 pound bag. Pork chops $0.77 a pound. Once again most other items are expensive. Meat and sales items great.

Just came back from a very good lunch at El Ranchero on Winslow. The food was tasty, our waiter was excellent with a nice smile, but I liked the decor best of all: a wild array of large colorful painted murals, chairs, tables, even the ceiling depicting Mexican and tropical scenes. This is the 2nd time same location I had a bad food experience. On my last visit with friends on 3rd of July afternoon they served us bad guacamole. If the owner or the manager rewind your cameras you will find out what exactly went wrong with the whole lunch process that day. Everything was off and moreover the whole staff was rude including manager.

I got the Supreme 9.79 Consists of four enchiladas — one chicken, one beef, one cheese and one bean. All topped with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. I would buy again. I will say that if you consider yourself a big eater, you would want to get an appatizer with the meal. Chips and salsa, bar seating, plenty of tv with sports, good wait staff.

If your eyes are offended by bright colors, you might want to go somewhere else. This location features the same wonderfully hideous relief art as the other El Ranchero locations, only there's more of it. Lots more. Just about every surface is covered with brightly colored art, including the walls, the windows, the fronts and backs off the chairs and benches, the tabletops, parts of the ceiling, and even the table legs. It's an assault on the eyes. Personally, this is a plus for me, but I can imagine that it might be a bit off-putting to some. The food is your standard Mexican restaurant fare. Unlike the other El Ranchero locations, they do not serve all-you-can-eat tacos on Tuesdays.

The decor is extremely flashy, but it is nice! The wait for food was very short. Maybe 8 to 10 minutes. Started with sodas and chips and dip on our table 30 seconds after ordering them, then we perused the menu, great selection and pricing. The food was out fast, and was delicious. Kid friendly, but I wouldn't mind eating here with adult family and friends, either. The food is typical for a sit-down chain, the portions are generous, the salsa and chips were immediate, the music had the kids tapping and swaying the whole time, and the decorations gave them something to look at and talk about. Kids meals include the obligatory pizza, etc., and free drinks. The service was prompt, the wait was short (maybe because we ate there at 4:20 pm) and the food was hot. We'll probably go back; the kids insist.

When I walked into the place some poor little boy was crying because he puked all over the floor across from the hostess stand as he was walking out with his family. That should’ve made me run the other way but I stayed and ate and regret doing so. The margarita was terrible and the chicken quesadilla was even worse. There was barely any meat in it, all I tasted was cheese. Very disappointed wIth this place and will stick to the El Ranchero on Dual Highway because their food is much better at that location.

Perfect for any diet and taste buds. Dont drink but those did seem high. Got chicken fajitas with corn tortillas and no cheese,so fit my dairy and gluten-free lifestyle. Very tasty. Excellent chips and salsa. Fajitas full of veggies with great plate of sides.
