Had the smaller sampler (brisket, pulled pork, turkey and sausage with two side [I had collard greens and vinegar cole slaw]). Everything was spot on, including the sausage and collard greens. Was enough food for two for sure. Didn't bother with the sauce...the true mark of great BBQ for me. The sampler was $20.13 tax included without a drink. You won't be disappointed here.

If I could give them no stars, I would. We ordered a very simple meal of three kids meal and two cakes, that are already made, and we had to wait for over thirty minutes. They served all the people who ordered after us, while we were still waiting for our order to be made.

I really enjoy City Barbecue in general but this one is kind of dirty and the food isn’t as good as the downtown one. I had the brisket today and it was chewy like rubber. Also there was trash and sticky messes all over the restaurant.

The food is excellent, The service I received from Jessica was underwhelming at best. I called and spoke to Jessica to add a side of pickles to an order. She rudely stated I needed to call door dash and she can not add anything. Pickles have no charge.!! The door dash does not have a option for pickles. Why couldn't she just throw the darn pickles in the bag?? Poor attitude. Will not order from this store again.

Was One of the best barbeques I have ever eaten we got the judges sampler in split it between me and my fiance and every single meat dish was amazing tender crisp on the outside and delicious and juicy on the inside. Absolutely was so stuffed When we left. Could barely walk out to the car. Lol I also thought they have a good selection of barbecue sauces to choose from .. I love city barbeque!!! Their employees are beyond friendly. The food is.. perfect. Juicy meats, crispy fries, the bacon is insanely tasty. The lemonade is awesome. So many sauces to try. The green beans and the coleslaw are flavorful and fresh. Even the salads are my favorite salad. If you can get their stews/soups/chili's do it with no regrets. Cheese fries forever. They just dump extra fries all over your tray like they dont even worry about portions. Theyll hand you free stuff just because. Seriously flavorful food.

Ordered for delivery, they couldn’t get the credit card to work. I’ve used the same credit card hundreds of times. 3 attempts, they still couldn’t get it to work. I finally switched credit cards and it worked. During this time they only called me once, so I had no idea their was a problem until the 3rd attempt, about 2 hrs later. When the Beef Brisket sandwich finally arrived, it was a mess and the fatty-est meat I’ve ever seen. Disgusting. Bun was falling apart too. Very disappointing!

The only reason I give 4 stars is they put to go orders in a window sill and it's cold now. BUT, they were late with my fries and they gave us a chocolate cake! Place can't be all that bad! My advice, if you order pulled pork, go without the bun! Great mac and cheese for the kids!

This place used to be friendly as well as good food. is not what it once was. Frequent turn over causes the food to be to be inconsistent and the employees dont know much about the menu and have a hard time with orders like no onions or turky instead of beef. If you have been here you know that it is expensive and simply not worth the price. Save a little money and try another bbq joint that measures up.

Picked this place for date night last Thursday. Co worker of mine always grabs to go for us from the Fishers location, so I know the food is phenomenal, but never have eaten in. Customer service here is fantastic. Everyone was so friendly, and helpful, it threw me for a loop. You just don’t expect this from restaurants these days. Food here is great as it is at their Fishers location. Plenty of BBQ sauces to choose from as well as real plates and silverware. Kudos to this south side restaurant and crew!!

Barbeque is generally good, but each visit has had a disappointing element. We carry out more often than not. The time before last, the ribs were extremely fatty. The most recent time, the trimmed brisket was sliced perfectly while the "full-cut" brisket was sliced with the grain, leaving meat that couldn't be eaten without excessive masticatiom. Next time, I'll examine the meats before I leave the restaurant. The sides have been perfect and the peach cobbler is fantastic.

We used to be a fan....not anymore. We hadn't been there for awhile. Boy has it changed. The tables were sticky, the floor had soda spilled on it (that no one cleaned the entire time we sat there) and most disappointed in the brisket. I got ALL burnt VERY greasy ends. I started feeling sick on the way home and by the end of the night we were BOTH sick. (Both ends) if you will. Wont be going back.

I was really let down the food was ok but not the amazing BBQ you would expect , the chicken was cooked but very bloody it was so weird. For the mother load it was $75 with 3 drinks and a peach cobbler says it can feed 6 but that was a understatement to say the least . The place was ok clean but the tables were dirty so i had to wipe it down myself . The staff boys doing the food are nice but the cashier was a lil ditsy when it came to helping me out so i just read the menu . I always say give places at least one try and see how it goes well this is that one try place and thats it

The service is spectacular here. They were fast and nice. The manager even came over to our table and offered to bring us some boxes and asked if we needed and sauces to go. It’s not the best Barbeque food I’ve had but it was still pretty good. The Texas toast is great. We got the Judge’s Platter and it was way more than enough food for two people. We upgraded our sides and they hooked us up! It was a ton of food. My only dislike would be the Mac n cheese, it’s bland.

Love this place. I do carryout frequently especially on 1/2 price Tuesdays, ribs are 1/2 price, I only like the brushfire BBQ sauce because I like my sauce on the hot side. My wife doesn't like the outside of the barbecue pork so we asked for it with no bark and they fix us right up. Their gumbo is real good with some good smoked sausage and okra. I love their potato salad when I get the ribs, seasonal,they have cucumber and onions in vinegar very good. The corn bread pudding is out of this world. When you get your drinks in condiments they have like a pull out file type deal where they have honey and wipes and all that stuff. Be sure to try their sliced pickles, grab some red onions and jalapenos and you can get these to go as well. Their iced tea is really really good. They have chocolate cake and banana pudding for dessert. They also have a few local beers and a large selection of bottled root beers, vanilla sodas classic sodas as well. They do like turkey dinners for the holidays as well as smoked hams.

I've been going to this place for a while and usually get the same thing. Well, my last two visits were the same order of brisket. In the past the brisket has been moist and tender with some fat attached. The past two visits the brisket has been very dry and hard. I don't know what has changed, but I'm not a fan of it. You might have just lost some customers.

I have eaten here with my wife before and loved it of course, but this place is amazing for catering large groups. I coordinate large lunches and dinners for a local water bottling factory and we have used City Barbecue multiple times. They truly do everything so well. Customer service is top notch, food is amazing, and the ease of ordering is great. All the staff and managers are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a reason we continue to use their catering service and we will continue to go back to them. Amazing experience everytime! Keep it up!

We ordered the sampler that included smoked turkey, turkey sausage, brisket and pulled pork. My favorites were the turkey items and the sauces. While my man preferred the other two meats. All of those sauces were so delicious. I tried all of them and wish I could eat with them all the time at home. I really don't like BBQ sauce. But one tasted like a flavorful green BBQ salsa. I was hoping the brisket would be more tender though, to be honest. That's why I went. So my search continues for the most tender BBQ brisket.

We came here for dinner while visiting from out of state. We got the shredded pork family meal and a half slab of ribs. The fries were very good. They were like fair fries. They do need salt, but it's great like that you can add as much/little as you want. All the food was good, but my husband and I liked the ribs from Texas Roadhouse more. You seat yourself and there are no servers. So tables are first come first served kind of thing. It was a good price, and the ribs are on sale on Tuesdays for a dollar and some change per bone. Good place for a family dinner.

Sad by the time I arrived the brisket was sold out! The pulled pork and ribs were very good. If you like vinegar based sauces, definitely have the swine wine! It was so good we got a bottle to take home! There were many sauces, have fun trying them all. The bourbon and peach habanero tied for my second favorite. I enjoyed the hush puppies and the Rhinegeist Cheetah local beer. I usually take tons of photos but I was so hungry I eat immediately. Lastly, the manager Chris had AMAZING hospitality that went beyond words! Absolutely worth and visit. If I'm back in area I will definitely return!

Good basic barbecue. Staff is friendly, if a little short when busy. It's a part of a chain, so the food is basically good, but nothing amazing. Prices are higher than a fast casual place but cheaper than a higher end shop. Plan on spending around ten bucks per person. The cowbell is pretty good, and the sweet tea is some of the best you can find this far north

My wife picked up a City Sampler on April 4th, 2019 and brought it home for dinner. We usually really enjoy the sampler and everything on the sampler this time was acceptable, with the exception of the brisket, which is what I usually eat. I separated the fat from it and had very little edible meat left. The pile on the right is all fat, six ounces of fat. Very dissatisfied, especially since the brisket has always been my favorite. I hope this isn't what has become of City Barbecue.

I decided to treat myself to a beef brisket sandwich today. i ordered it yo go and while waiting I noticed a sandwich had been made and was sitting under the hot lights. I finally saw it being wrapped up and my order was called. As I drove out of their parking lot, I opened my sandwich. The bun was so soggy, it literally fell apart and my sandwich was not edible. It had 4 pieces of brisket, so that is what I ate. I am very disappointed with the quality of my sandwich and 4 pieces of brisket. I can't go out to eat often because of financial constraints and I sincerely wish I had gone somewhere else....never again..

We went as a family for a school fund raiser. It was a terrific meal. I had chicken, my husband had brisket, My grandkids had Turkey sandwiches and daughter and husband had brisket and pulled chicken. We also had the super food salad which was terrific! All the sides were great. Macaroni and cheese and green beans, turnip greens, and toast. The chocolate cake was also wonderful! So many choices if you choose to add barbecue sauce to your meats, from sweet to super hot, there's something for everyone! We love City Barbeque!

From the very beginning Jennifer was a pleasure to deal with and later Tom helped with some last minute adjustments and even donated the warmers. From ordering, the delivery and setup and the exceptional quality of the food City BBQ in Florence hit this one out of the park. Everyone at the dinner commented on how good the food was and several had also commented that they would use them for their events. I am already planning two other events that need catering in the coming months and will look no further than City BBQ! Great job to everyone on your team and thank you for taking one more worry off my plate and replacing it with brisket!

We have loved City Barbecue in the past, but recently they have a new employee doing the meats, and he doesn't remove the fat from the barbecued pork. My husband couldn't eat his sandwich. A friend of ours had the same experience. Shame how one employee can ruin a restaurant.

I have been coming at least twice a month to this location for some time. The staff is very helpful and accommodating. The quality of the food here is excellent and I have never gotten a dried out piece of meat. We have them cater some of our parties through the year and it’s always more than enough food for usually under a hundred dollars. I recommend this place if you want consistent and delicious BBQ.

One of my favorite restaurants, maybe even my top favorite. We began going in Columbus, Ohio and was thrilled to see they were in Indy when we moved. The best corn pudding anywhere. Pulled pork is amazing. It's the type of BBQ that doesn't need sauce but if you like sauce they have a wonderful selection. It's very difficult to do, but if you can, save room for the peach cobbler or chocolate cake.

Filthy restaurant, bathrooms had no toilet paper and puddles of urine were on the floor. Cornbread was burnt, they were out of corn pudding and turkey, and the entire meal looked unappetizing. They need to take lessons from City BBQ/Carmel. I will never return to the location being reviewed. I will, however, return to the Carmel location.

Great portion sizes. The pulled pork is easily enough for 2 heaping sandwiches. I only ordered the pulled pork sandwich and was surprised with 3 samples of sides and 2 cups of BBQ sauce upon opening my carryout bag. The staff was very friendly and more than happy to answer my questions. Would definitely recommend and will be returning regularly. It's hard to comment on the flavor of the food as every BBQ varies as much as people's expectations but it is very tender and juicy.

This was a legitimately good BBQ place. For the price, you'll be hard pressed to find a better joint. I got the brisket and the ribs. Both were done quite well. I tried most of the sauces, however, my favorite turned to be the original. The others were just a tad too gimmicky for me. However, just my opinion. I still highly recommend this place.

A huge amount of food btw) after I paid The manager offered to change my order to a actual family meal which was cheaper and you got even more food. I was really pleased with this place, especially since it is a chain. Had the ribs and jacked mac and cheese with brisket. Loved the ribs and the sauces that I tried were delicious. They were light on the brisket (upcharge), but the dish itself was very tasty and indulgent. Would definitely come back and get a slab of ribs and some brisket by the pound.

This used to be a great BBQ place; however, our last several visits (with today being the last chance) have been really disappointing with dry, chewy, tough brisket that had very little flavor. I'm not sure what changed but would not be able to recommend it for the beef brisket.

My family got the Cowbell sandwich, pulled pork sandwich, burnt tips, macncheese, collards, potato salad, green beans and cornbread. The cowbell is brisket between Texas toast, and has toppings that you would find on a cheese steak sandwich. It was delicious. Pulled pork sandwich was perfect, and we all enjoyed tasting the different sauces available. My favorite was the peach harbarnero. I enjoyed the potato salad and collards were just like my grandmas country cooking(not a fan of the sweet cornbread, but that is because we do not do it sweet at home). Daughter also liked the macncheese. We enjoyed our meal, and by downloading the City Barbecue App, we were able to get $5.00 off of our meal. Large portions, so remember when ordering.

Just had my first This BAD experience at my favorite City Barbecue location. Customer service was sub-standard, mistakes in charges, mistakes giving me what I ordered, had to go back in twice because what I paid for was not in the bag, 3 pounds of pulled pork but no buns or suggestion of buns. Management needs to do a better job, train your people.

I don't think you have to tip there. In fact I'm pretty sure of it. Because everybody throws their own Trash Away and you buy everything at the counter and you get your own condiments so I asked the guy sitting next to me and he told me he's never left the tip. I don't think you're supposed to tip there and I don't think they expect one. Which is freaking amazing to me. You even buy the beer over the counter. She brings you like nothing. Got the salad with and then I added shredded pork and put some sauce and pickles with it. And it was tremendous. And I had a busted knuckle. it was delicious. Some cute chicks that work there too. With ample backsides.

They were out of 2 meats and a few other items so having to resort to getting pulled chicken while eating the chicken there was a Lrg sharp bone stabbed into my mouth. See pictures. I would not recommend the pulled chicken. I had to wipe down my own table as well as sticky stuff off the booth seats. There BBQ sauce warmer was also broken and after informing them of the issues they did not seem to concerned about it just saying well it happens. Overall I would recommend one of the many other better BBQ places close by.

Ever since I tried the turkey breast sandwich, it has been my go-to entree. And this time, it did not disappoint!!! So tender and moist...add pickles and a little of the bourbon bbq sauce and I'm in heaven. BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! my sides were the hugh pile of fries and the Gumbo. Yes, Gumbo was on the menu and boy was it good. Just the right amount of heat, too. I had such a big amount of food left that I had enough for lunch the next day...except the gumbo cuz that was eaten right away while it was hot. Great job Florence City BBQ!

Great and fast BBQ joint I'm impressed with the quality of Barbeque from a chain restaurant. I wish this chain was available in my area. This location was very easy and convenient to use when I was traveling. I only got take out but they prepare the food quickly and packaged it well.
