We decided to have a mid week outing with old friends. We discussed a restaurant to meet at, it was decided to try the Bru Burger Bar down town Evansville. A new dining experience for us. They have pretty good menu of appetizers, salads and burgers. The food was very good, we will return again soon. Fantastic burgers which I did not expect. Ambiance is fantastic, housed in restored Art Deco Greyhound bus station. Very nice, very crowded during peak times. Burgers and fries are amazing. Would visit again

Nothing special on the food end of things, but certainly an interesting addition to Evansville's downtown if you know the area from 5 or 10 years ago. Nice atmosphere and the food was not bad at all.

Came here on a friday night, not too busy so we got seated right away. After ordering drinks they were promptly served... then it all went downhill. I ordered a medium well burger, it came out medium rare. My wife ordered well done, it came out medium. After waiting a while we finally received our check, placed the card in the slot and stood it up. The table next to us, clearly friends of the server, received their check after us. The server came over to their table and chatted for 10 minutes while we waited to get our bill taken care of, took theirs and gave them change back, then finally came back for ours. Needless to say, will not be back.

It’s hard to say what the best part was: the tasty salad, the snack-sized burger with white cheddar substituted in place of American, the beach looking cocktail, or our fabulous server, Emma. We will definitely be back the next time we’re in town.

Nice place, some members of our party arrived earlier, so I am not sure about the actual wait time. The burgers start in the $10 range, which doesn't include sides. I didn't have a beer, but those in our party that did, enjoyed what they got. The service was great!

Wow. Excellent place to go! Great atmosphere, great food, and great staff who go above and beyond! They are allergy-friendly and have awesome vegan cheese and mayo. Husband and son loved their non vegan food as well. Super friendly employees. Loved the look of the place, inside and out. Seating outdoors available, too, with pretty flowers and plants surrounding it. Will return and will recommend!

Easily some of the very best burgers I've ever had. Perfectly cooked to ordered temp each time. Sides aren't necessary with a burger of that size but their options are always delicious. The service is a bit slow but very friendly. The restaurant has a welcoming and cool vibe with its converted interior(old bus station) and is always wonderfully clean. Definitely recommended.

The food was great and service was good. But the place is so crowded and the tables and seats are so close to others it's just inconvenient. There's no elbow room or personal space if you eat here.

Everything we had was great.. Had my grandson's birthday party there..the first place I found that hot wings without breading..they were just the best ever...really busy got our food in a very reasonable time..we did have a little over an hour wait.. but didn't have to go up stairs..and there were 13 of us and all got sit together..

Allow me to start by saying the food is wonderful. Most people just want to know that and not much else. In that area there is no worry. The burger are quite a hefty size and come in just about any style you need. Don't forget to get a side order of fries as well, some of the best my group tasted in a long time. But on too other details. I would try and avoid busy days like weekends for starters. The place can easily get crowded, and the servers get lost in the haze. You will be stuck there waiting on food and service a while in these cases. Otherwise grab some friends and enjoy the weather dining outdoors in their patio area. And one little last tip. Try the bread pudding.

Delicious food, great atmosphere and impeccable service! This was my first visit and I just loved the ambiance. I particularly enjoyed the fact that I was able to hold a conversation using my "inside" voice lol! The food was excellent; fresh and well prepared. The waitstaff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. I'll definitely go back next time I'm in town!

My boyfriend and I took my niece here for her 18th birthday. We didn't ask for any special treatment. I did use the Google app to reserve seating prior to going there, but it was a Saturday night and we still ended up waiting a good fifteen minutes when we arrived. You can probably tell from the pictures, the burgers were a pretty good portion size. I elected to have fruit instead of French fries, which I don't regret because the burger was a beast. My niece who runs track and is like 120 lbs demolished her entire plate... so I would say the food is tasty--that or I starved the poor child shopping earlier in the day. The price is probably comparable to a Red Robin? They do have a rewards program, an upstairs dining area and a bar. It's a trendy place and the overall service was pretty fair.

Wonderful selection of menu offerings. There is something available for everyone, from vegetarians to hard core meat lovers. Plan to spend about $15 or more per person depending on what drink option you select it can be well over $25 per person. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is casual.

Fantastic food, intriguing atmosphere, prompt and polite service in an interesting and somewhat historical location. What more could you ask for? Also, this is an odd thing to preach about, but they make the best damn ketchup I have ever had.

This restaurant had some of the best food I have ever had in my entire life. I was blown away by how delicious all of it was. Not only were the burgers wonderful, but the fries were too! At most restaurants it's either one way or the other, not both. I ate way too much, and my friends and I all left the restaurant full and happy. I will definitely be returning in the near future.

I had the honey Chipotle burger and it was delicious. It was a really good amount of food. Half a burger was pretty satisfying for one person. I came in with a group of about 8 people and the customer service was fun and friendly.

If you like your burgers with ketchup mustard maybe a pickle sure you can order that. If you know what you are doing have your waiter order for you!! I didn’t come in thinking i would get a burger with pastrami and cole slaw but that was recommended. The flavor profile was crazy combined with caramelized onions, huge beer battered onion rings on the side served with a local draft beer. Service was great. Hope i travel back here soon!

Hands down the best burger joint in Evansville! If you need a burger fix in historic downtown Evansville this is the spot for you, you will not be disappointed. These chef-inspired burgers are all crafted perfectly! I had the classic Bru Burger and let me tell you, the flavors all complemented each other from the Taleggio cheese, bacon, and tomato jam with caramelized onions. You haven't lived until you've consumed this burger!

I am in town for work and decided to check this place out as I do love a good hamburger. The one very cool thing about this place is that it is located in an old Greyhound bus terminal which is quite unique. They have a nice selection of burgers which are a good size, and have a nice selection of sides. My burger was cooked to perfection and was just amazing. The service was wonderful and the staff amazing. I would certainly not hesitate to go back and try a different burger off of the menu.

First Time! Was seated and waited in instantly. It was early around 4:30. Quaint little spot in the old greyhound bus station. Food was really great! Large servings! I had one pretzel and it was big enough for three. Then I had the black bean burger. Although I’m vegan I ordered it anyway. They only had one vegan burger option, the Impossible burger, not sure if the buns were vegan, they did not look or taste like it. Not a fan of the impossible burger! It’s terrible and made from isolates. If I could say anything Dutch the impossible burger and make a scratch made vegan option burger. So many in house options, why waste your time with the impossible burger. Real food real ingredients made scratch brings more business. Also vegan foods should have stated if buns are vegan as well. Another thing, do you use separate grills for your vegetarian and vegan foods? I’ll be back as it was a great experience, I’ll hope to see more vegan friendly options soon. Thanks for clearing up my question about the buns! We love your honesty!! We’ve already been back and brought more mouths to feed! See again soon! If you haven’t been here, I highly recommend you do.

This is it. The absolute best burgers that's I've ever had anywhere, period, end of story. I've eaten here several times now, and each time my burgers have been absolutely perfect. Cooked exactly as requested, and you can tell that it's high quality meat to start with. Most recently I had the Honey Chipotle BBQ burger & fries, and I think it's my new favorite. The Bourbon Bramble cocktail is also quite enjoyable if you're looking for a refreshing drink. Service has been fast and friendly each time - all around a great experience. I can't wait till I can come back again!

After giving me the wrong side item I had to order another sandwich the following day (it was about closing time when I received my first order and I did not want to wait for them to make my originally requested side). Upon calling back, whoever answered the phone made it sound like I was "asking too much of them" and told me that their policy is to fix their own mistakes ONLY if the customer calls back the same day. Overall the food was pretty great but the added hassle was NOT. Attentiveness and customer service was lackluster at best.

I thought I would hate spending that kind of money on the a la cart style food, but it is worth it! These are some of the best burgers I’ve ever had. It can get very busy on weekends and in that case the place is practically elbow to elbow, especially upstairs. I also love that they rescued the old greyhound station. Very cool. Overall, a wonderful place to have a great meal.

Burgers were really good and the homemade ketchup was amazing. Tthe chicken sandwich was juicy, spicy and delicious. My only complaint was that the fries were not fresh and slightly cold. A few of the onion rings were not fresh as well but the ones that were were great. Another plus is they serve Aqua Pana water in a bottle. Also our server was very nice!

Love how they restored the old Greyhound Bus Building into the restaurant. The Memphis Melt was fantastic, Bru Chicken is their version of a Nashville Hot and it's good as well. Not a big fan of the homemade ketchup and other condiments.
