Amazing private experience! Book your party now! "This is the place!"

Very cool place. Excellent service food and drinks

Tom Boward

It's like a little piece of Portlandia in Indianapolis, and I mean that in the best way possible. The staff are as excellent (and eclectic) as the food.

David Oz

Everything was wonderful, popular for good reason. It's the place to go on a beautiful evening to eat outside, but they have inside seating also. The service was attentive and helpful, which is good when your menu changes every night.

Mark Neumann

Very good. Wish we could've tried more items but we were full. Server was nice and knowledgeable but disappeared. Service wasn't up to food standards

Chante Cramp

Honestly, it was just ok. The nuts were mostly peanuts, nothing was spiced or smoked like the description suggested. The drinks were very sweet. The sauce on the meat was too salty and parts of my meat were very charred. As a chef myself, I know very distinctly when steak has been frozen...it changes the taste and texture of the protein...this had definitely been frozen, which makes sense now as to why a medium rare sirloin takes an hour to prepare...smh...no, I won't be back.

Steven Toth

I'll definitely be back to BlueBeard the next time I'm in town. The overall experience was excellent. Service was good. Drinks were excellent. Food was tremendous. The breads and cheeses we're a hit. The duck was good. Well worth a quick Uber ride from the center of town. I'll be back.

Charlie Christensen Phillips

Depending on your mood and budget, they have small, medium and large dishes. My wife and I split a large and a small dish and it was a great amount of food. The menu changes daily but the food is amazing.

Cardboard Socks

Great place to eat, portions are a bit on the small side, otherwise if give it five stars.

Belinda Rice

Great restaurant off the beaten path. The food was great and the staff was friendly. Good bar with a bartender that knows what he’s doing. First time visiting Bluebeard’s and was very impressed. The signage could have been better though. It’s winter and I can appreciate the use of a temporary entrance to help the people sitting by the door warmer, but the sign was not very visible.

Augusta Uwah

Nice ambiance Nice enough staff Fresh bread daily Overpriced for portion size. Made me give a 3 Star initially. However the bread pudding dessert is heavenly and upgrades the rating to a 4

John

Food is okay, environment is nice, portions are very small, I got the steak medium potion and had to get something to eat afterwards, at least serve some bread or something with food, since the portions are very little

joe mitchell

Amazing, amazing food! I had no idea this was here and I don't regret going.

Mario Arango

One of my favorite restaurants in town. Love the rotating menu. The food is delicious and their charcuterie boards are hands down the best in town.

Jonathan Neal

Fantastic food! So much flavor in all of the dishes we tried. We went back two days later and the presentation was slightly different, but the taste was still the same. The spicy shrimp on the menu when we went was just as advertised! So Spice! Try it out. You will love this place. The bar room is definitely more comfortable and intimate than the front room.

Rachel

We had an exceptional time in the private dining room! The food, atmosphere and service were top notch! Definitely a special experience

Jake Fisher

Food was good. Service was good. A little pricey considering the two.

Casey D

Easily my favorite restaurant in Indy. Have been here several times and have been satisfied every time. The menu is always stellar and unique, and they make the best Bee's Knees.

Mark Alteri

New to Indy, and have already visited several times. Most recently to their Pork and Pinot wine/pork prefix pairings. Great food, wonderful staff and set in the beautiful Fletcher Place. Plan to visit again soon!

Brad Leach

Loved it! Had the wing's and my lady had the something tostada! Both were great and full of flavors. Menu changes daily. My lady had a drink called the jailbird that was very f n tasty! I had a couple pilsners on draft.

James Prater

Food is incredibly tasty. From the meat and cheese tray, through the brussel sprouts and entrees, to the Bavarian cake and bread pudding. We each ordered something different, then shared tastes of each. All was amazing! The service was friendly and helpful as well

Dave White

The strip steak is amazing!

Lewes Morgans

Mixed review The place was exceptionally crowded and we were lucky to get a table. However we were right on top of the tables next to us. As the tables next to us were in town for the same conference it was awkward. Despite the crowds we did not have to wait for our meals to be served like other reviewers. The charcuterie and cheeses were nice portions, but the breads were nothing exceptional and although the waiter portrayed the cheeses as exotic and unique they were nothing different than what you could pick up at a whole foods. They were good though. The pickled herring was disappointing. Not as good as a jar in the grocery store. The rest of the meal was very good but not exceptional.. Not having eaten at many restaurants in Indianapolis dont have a lot to compare. I liked the sizing of the portions. A great way to gauge what your getting. Servers were helpful.

Kelly Riegler

This place is amazing. I love the farm to table mindset and friendly and knowledgeable staff. Keep it up! The beet salad was amazing, I loved the asparagus salad and cheese board. I had the wild halibut which was so good!

Chris Haag

One of our favorite restaurants in Indy. Their menu has creative blends of traditional staples with amazing twists. The atmosphere is great with outdoor spaces and a really cool bar. They don't take reservations, but you can check out the funky neighborhood while you wait.

Lori Monesmith

Amazing service, atmosphere and food! Started with oysters and loved them! Beet salad and Brussels highly recommended and wings and salmon were awesome! We'll be back! Jess was the best!

Carrie Lahman

Fantastic food, excellent service. Beautiful outdoor seating. Order the chicken thigh with rice and beans!

Juan Carlos Sanchez

Their food is excellent and the recommendations fantastic. I love the environment and the outside fireplace. Our waiter top notch and always available.

Max Eidsvik

Amazing food and drink

Katey Haydon

Amazing! Different menus every day according to what's fresh that day! Every ingredient is supplied by local artisans. You must try!

Jacquelyn Gilligan

Loved the food selections and the portions were on the larger side. Don't go here if on a time crunch though. The outside seating was very enjoyable.

Jay Darcy

My favorite restaurant in Indianapolis! We had a group of 8 people, and we shared a bunch of plates, which is the way to go. There are too many awesome dishes on their menu to narrow it down! Every single one was delightful and different. I was also impressed with their craft beer selection, house cocktails, and service. Highly recommend!

Crista Wilkins

Oysters! Just perfect.

This is by far the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. The staff is very friendly and informative about their dishes. The food is AMAZING! I got the cob salad (literally the best salad I’ve ever had), casarecce pasta with spicy meat, and the pie for dessert. My friend got the bread pudding for dessert and that was good too!! Everything was so fresh. The interior looks small but if you are 21+ they have a back room with a bar and cute decorations. This is definitely a place to visit if you are ever in Indianapolis.

Shigeki Miyake-Stoner

Delicious, if uncommon foods, great ambiance, pretty good beers.

Summer Hudson

The ever changing menu will not disappoint you, ever. This place is for the foodies in Indy and those that can appreciate the art of a phenomenal chef. Even the food descriptions that seem scary, are always divine! Give them a try. You won't be sorry.

sabrina modellas

Cocktails and food are great. The devour Indy menu sounds better than it tastes, so I'd steer clear of that, but I have craved a bluebeard salad, so I know the food is delicious. The bartenders can accommodate drink requests not on the menu, and they make it good (even if it's their first attempt)! They know what they're doing!

Madison Upchurch

Oh my gosh this is possibly the best restaurant in indy. Easy to not spend a fortune here and try a bunch of stuff. Service was excellent. Going back asap.

Jan Collins

I loved my experience at Bluebeard. The staff was extremely friendly. I'm a bourbon lover and I first asked for a recommendation for a sweeter/caramel tasting bourbon or rye. The recommendation I got was one I'd never tried but it was perfect. I then had the pate which was incredible. The monkfish dish was amazing. With both the pate and the monkfish, the combinations of flavors were complimentary and complex. Really enjoyed the food. The only slight criticism I have was that the monkfish wasn't hot, it was more lukewarm. Other than that, a perfect dining experience that I would highly recommend.

Sashwat Mishra

This place has a very good ambiance and has a menu that changes daily. They are a farm to table concept restaurant. The food is good but not one of the best in Indy. The large portions are priced quite high and weren't very flavourful or something refreshingly different from what other competing restaurants offer. Nothing stood out significantly from the menu, the two times I have been here.

Megan Gargiulo

We went a bit overboard and ordered about half the menu but I can safely say this place is great!! In spite of eating them out of house and home, the plates use so many veggies that we didn't feel too terribly guilty afterwards! Worth a splurge for inventive local cuisine.

Brandon Keesler

I'm not sure about Bluebeard anymore. Last time I went in July, I would have given it 5 stars (ham and lobster soup is incredible), but the most recent time, maybe 3. I'll stick with 4 and see what happens next time. The salad was very good, but the chili was way over spiced and barely edible. The Brussel sprouts were also not good and seasoned or sauced to the point you couldn't taste the sprouts themselves. Service is always good.

Anon

Staff has extensive criminal record, including tresspassing on restraining orders, driving with suspended lisences while giving alcohol to minors, tesisting arrest, burglary and receiving stolen property. etc. While Chef Joshua R. Schultz is there, I will onky pay in cash and not risk him stealing my credit card info!!! Theives and criminals for staff! Whatever happened to background checks?!?! Poor, poor hiring. No women should go there alone due to his retraining order violations. Stay safe, peops.

S Plekker

It's a hip place to be. I didnt rate it more stars simply because it really isnt my kind of food. The cocktails seem to drawn from a vegetarian's way of thinking. But I did give a 3rd star for the desert.

Kevin Thompson

Amazing! Delicious cocktails, spectacular food, and outstanding staff. Do yourself a favor and go there!

Soonsoon Hwang

So glad to have finally visit for dinner! Sergio did an excellent job making sure we had a wonderful experience. The ribeye was delicious and a big fan of the desserts as well. Will be back soon!

Justin Cissell

Food was pretty good however shockingly small portions. I felt like the pictures I saw on google before going there were a little misleading as far as giving an accurate sense of scale. If you have an anorexic date and want to look cool by spending a lot of money on him or her this is a good option. While more certainly does not equal better, if you are looking for a filling meal on a medium budget, I’m not sure if there was anything on the menu for someone like you. While the food was good it did not blow my mind and make me pray to a new god like everyone is saying. I think the presentation of the dish is what you’re really paying for.

Brien Warner

It's always enjoyat Bluebeard. Dishes are incredibly fresh, well put together, and the staff is extremely accommodating. Looking forward to the next visit.

Tatyana Fedorikhina

Wonderful gourmet experience! We really enjoyed all the food, except for the small plate pasta dish which was very salty. The foie gras was superb: really tender and flavorful. The charcuterie was great, especially the duck prosciutto. The large dish duck and steak were great. The desert was Brittish themed for some reason, but bread pudding and the shortcake were nice.

Mr. 2

Its sad I really didnt enjoy my experience as bad as I wanted to. The service/drinks were great, It was the food I wasn't that fond of... it's not their fault, The menu changes often and I walked in and looked at the menu and just figured I'd give it a shot. I will try again

Donna Bond

Amazing amazing amazing cannot stop talking about this place great hospitality thanks to everyone that works and helps their Greek place amazing people I will be seeing you soon my beautiful people

Robert Christian

Always a great experience coming into The Blue Beard. Excellent food. Especially the kale salad.

Jared McCullough

If you want a good gastropub experience in Indy in a fast growing gentrified neighborhood, then look no further. Drinks and food are crafted by hand as you would expect at a place like this. We got the duck and asparagus salad. Both were excellent. We would go back again. Drink menu is substantial. We had no problem getting a bar seat on a Saturday evening.

Francis Neric

Best restaurant in Indy. Hands down. Continually updated menu, super fresh farm-to-table affair. Great service to boot. Just be aware that they don't take reservations.

Lauren Martinez

It was a Game of Thrones kick off for the final season. The restaurant was closed for the private event of about 20-30 people. Staff were in themed attire- unlimited wine & beer included. Food included shrimp, turkey legs, roasted chicken, and an "out of this world" pot pie (I still dream of it!). It was more food than you could eat and we even got to take home leftovers! They really take care of you! ⁣

Matthew James Davis

Competitive prices, great food portions, excellent atmosphere and good tastes. A wonderful culinary experience. I would say a must try. Actually one of the best in the fountain square area.

Mikey Griesbaum

Very good. Ate way too much. Service was great. Easy location. Busy place. Would definitely go again

Drew French

Some of the best service I've ever had.

Eric Grumbles

This was surprisingly fantastic. Every menu item was prepared with an artistic eye, but that rarely matters to me because it almost always means that the visual aesthetic takes precedence over the taste and quality of preparation of the ingredients. Not so here at all. I ordered the octopus to test this and was very pleased with the results. I found it odd that it was served on toast, but honestly it really worked. The big thing though is that octopus has a 2 window deliciousness period. You can cook it for 30 seconds and its texture is perfect or you can cook it for 2 hours and its texture is perfect. It also helps to pound it with something prior. Whoever cooked this dish knew that and it was cooked perfectly. I've not been served perfectly cooked octopus in a landlocked state before. Ever. The oyster po boy was fantastic also. The oysters were sweet and juicy and very very fresh. I'm not sure how they got in there, but it seemed like half of the oysters in the sandwich had shell fragments in them. I think maybe they battered them and when making the batter they used oyster liquor but forgot to strain it? Either way, it was a minor inconvenience at best and didn't detract from the dish meaningfully. The steak was incredible. Perfectly cooked with an incredible sauce. The portion was extremely small, but it's 2019 and it was honestly a reasonable amount. This is especially true given the quality of the meat and preparation. The cacio pepe was also very good, Perfectly cooked pasta, nicely done sauce, charred corn added for Hoosierness. That portion was generous and this dish paired well with the steak. Dessert was a dense chocolate cake that was extremely good. My wife is an amazing baker and is very critical of chocolate cake and she threatened to stab the other 3 of us if we touched "her cake". That says a lot. In short, try Bluebeard. Order everything and don't skip dessert. They know what they're doing.

Jennifer Braden

Yummo!! Great food!! Fresh local farm to table, excellent service, drink menu, gorgeous outside patio... Love it!!!

Louis Celli

Of course it's delicious. Farm to table, scratch made family recipes with a pleasant, smiling, and helpful staff. Get the vanilla bean chess pie for dessert. Its rich but worth the calories. You'll hate yourself for finishing it, but you'll love and savor every bite.

Kelsey Griffiths

Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere. The staff was friendly and helpd make the whole experience more enjoyable. Dessert is a must!

Steven West

Food is always excellent

Salvador Arteaga

Great place for a first date. Sever Kyle is awesome, ask for him!!!! Food was amazing. Definitely recommend.

Jenny Cozad

Amazing experience. From the menu (food and bev), to the ambience and service, I was very impressed. I enjoyed a honey gin beverage and a salmon ceviche for my meal. As the menu frequently changes, this may not still be available, but Bluebeard is definitely worth a visit or few.

Decided on a whim to try out this oft talked about farm-to-table restaurant in the heart of Fountain Square. The location is cozy, but gorgeously eclectic (at least inside, as they have ample outdoor seating if the weather permits). Typewriters and various Indiana related books line the wall with an overall dark, earthy vibe. Possibly the first thing that struck me was how helpful all the staff was. They readily offered suggestions on their favorite menu items and drink without seemingly too fake or overbearing. Additionally, they rotated around often to check in on us and chat. As advertised, the food is local through and through. From the delicious fresh bread that comes from Amelia's next door, to various proteins and produce from around the state, the dishes are focused on bringing fresh food in slightly different ways than you may be used to here. We ended up trying the bread platter, salmon and fried green tomatoes, octopus, and brussel sprouts. Although the proportions of the dishes were sometimes slightly off, the food was delicious. We had some of their house cocktails as well, which were overall well crafted and balanced. Be warned, everything was on the higher end price wise, but they delivered on all fronts.

Not bad, not great, good service

Michele Stickel

Yummy seasonal farm to table menu.

Bobby Ball

I've loved Bluebeard since the first time I went for charcuterie. I've been a dozen or so times, and make a point to stop by when I'm back in town for a visit. Their cocktails are always delicious, and their menu - while constantly changing - is always on point. This is definitely my favorite place for dinner and drinks in Indy.

Carolyn G

Fabulous and great tasting food. Can't be beat. Book your group today for a cozy and fancy experience.

zih biame

It's an unconventional looking place but the service is amazing and the food is even more so. The place is a great location for those abstract thinkers out there. Quite hospitable though

Laken Taylor

Exceeds any expectations!!! We had a wonderful dinner here! Jacob was our waiter and was incredibly knowledgeable about everything on the menu. He gave excellent recommendations, care and attention while we were there. We will be back!

Brittany Caudill

Ate octopus for the first time. Cooked to perfection! The alcoholic beverages are an adventure awaiting! Definitely different and unique! You looking for some food outside the box then give this restaurant a try.

Hunter Kay

Okay, not only is the food amazing!! But the staff! I’m telling you, they are the nicest, and funniest people I have ever met. The drinks were so good I had probably a few more than I should have, but well worth the money. We started, with the cheese board, which I enjoyed, along with the cauliflower, which I’m typically not a fan of but whatever they put on it, made it delicious. Then the chips and dip. My favorite of the night. And the spaghetti (which has a white sauce) was soo good. But it also had a kick to it with the red pepper flakes. Over all, way too much food and drinks, but well worth money spent and bloated stomachs after

David Michael Gregg

Quirky concept, stellar and unusual food.

Andrea Poppe

Amazing!! Best restaurant in the city.

Anya SV

We really enjoyed sitting on the patio as the sun went down. The waiter brought out little candlelit lanterns. A great romantic spot! The food was amazing, highly recommend.

Steve Otto

Very nice. Food was very good. Different but nice atmosphere. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. Great location.

Eric Covington

I Really, Really recommend Bluebeards to Indy Visitors and locals alike. They are always consistent with the preparations of the food, the recipes are always spot on, and its a very nice atmosphere. I just took my 9yr old daughter Saturday and she loved it. I wanted to introduce her how chef prepared food tastes, is presented and the overall experience vs. the franchised restaurants. She loved the whole experience and even though as a kid she will not try alot of new things - she's 9 - but she loved seeing the foods, the cheese board, pickles and all the plated flights I ordered to show her the various dishes. Really great experience, pricing is great for the quality you get and consistently great every time I have dined there over the past few years. Also the crowd there is great too - very inviting and eclectic mix of people who value really good food.

Cory Murphy

Great lunch and outdoor seating.

Austin Graff

Bluebeard is a small top-rated restaurant in the trendy Fletcher Place neighborhood. It's connected to a bakery and they use their bread in their dishes. Here's what's to love: 1) Food: It's really good. Best in Indy? Maybe not (hence the 4 stars and not 5), but it is quality and good. The bread basket is naturally amazing. Our group of four also ordered the rigatoni (really good!), skirt steak, and corn soup (the best I've ever had) and we left full and didn't finish all of our food. 2) Cocktails: They were the best we had in Indy. They have a wide range of drinks from wine to beer to stiff and sweet cocktails. 3) Atmosphere: It's simple, yet classic. Minimalism is their design and it works. The only thing I'd note is that although the restaurant was great with our toddler, a few other guests glared at us the entire time. Our daughter didn't make a fuss or cry, but they seemed to now enjoy the very presence of a child.

Amanda Meyer

Their crafted cocktails were very delicious we sampled a lot of different ones while there. I had the Reverend Palmer, Buffalo Trace with lemon and angostura. A lovely sweetish version of a Manhattan. So smooth, loved it. I picked to eat off of the Savor Menu: Beet Salad, Rigatoni , Buttermilk Bread Pudding. My sister and friend ate the Savor menu with the Salmon. My brother-in-law had the octopus on toast. All of the food was wonderfully crafted the flavors were delicious portion sizes just right. I really enjoyed the ingredients in the beet salad I hope they make that a part of their regular options. It took a really long time for us to get our dessert from the prefix menu. That was the only disappointing part of our experience, having to wait so long for a desert.

Nikki Brown

Expensive and worth it. The fresh food is delightful and the drinks are really good too. I recommend the brussel sprouts always and forever.

Farzad Izadi Kharazi

Delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff. We shared about 8 dishes on the menu. The pickles are a great start, as were the brussels sprouts and cauliflower. We then went onto the volcano shrimp (which was actually a little spicy, I was pleasantly surprised) and skirt steak, which were both excellent. The octopus and "chicken" carpaccio were also tasty. As a bonus, service is fast and the drinks are all great too. Definitely stop by if you're in the area.

Carlos David Reyes Cordero

We had a good first impression of the ambience, the waitstaff and cocktails. Where we were incredibly disappointed was the value of the food. The server explained to us that she was able to finish the large portion of the ribeye topped with salad and served over a bed of rice ($46) when she was quote, “starving.” We received two (mediocre) petite medallions over less than a half cup of rice with 4 leaves atop. We felt deceived and very disappointed. Thankfully, we enjoyed our next (generous & delicious) meal at Bospohorus the next day before leaving Indy.

Harry Hodgdon

Every meal we have had has been a real treat. Excellent drinks (try the Reverend Palmer). Engaging waitstaff.

xst

Large portion of tasty food with decent price! The salad is highly recommended. Menu is changed seasonally and they have a lot of specials

Savanah Rice

Well, we got there at 7:20 waited until 8:15 to get seated and then they must have forgotten our order(I had to go ask someone where it was) because the food did not end up coming until 9:30. I was so hungry and frustrated by time it got there I had a hard time enjoying it. I will say the food itself was very good though, it was worth the price. We were seated outside and it was warm(which is fine) our waters were served luke warm... I guess thats a thing now? And or seats were metal with no cushions. Sitting forever on them waiting for our food was very uncomfortable to say the least. Anyway, I’m sure if you go and they don’t forget your order and you sit inside for a comfortable seat you will have a different experience.

Kurt Kriese

Finest food that can be found in Indy. EVERYTHING we had was delicious, excellently prepared and distinctive. This restaurant, named after a Kurt Vonnegut novel, does everything right. The wait staff is top notch, too.

Jan A N

Love this spot! SO good! Awesome art, friendly staff, and great vibes! It's a must!

Paul Meyers

Never had a bad meal at Bluebeard

Quintin Coppola

Bluebeard is an excellent spot off of Virginia Ave. in downtown Indy. They own Amelia’s Bakery, and having been a loyal patron of Amelia’s it’s no surprise that the quality carries over to Bluebeard. I was here for lunch with coworkers. No issues with the greeting or finding a table; weather was perfect for outdoor seating. I did think it was a bit loud outside, but that is because the highway is right next to us. The service was okay, and that’s why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5. Our waiter was polite, kind, and helpful...but it took FOREVER. We were here for 1.5 hours to get an appetizer and sandwiches. We skipped dessert because it took so long and we needed to get back for meetings. The food was fantastic. The pickled herring was balanced by the creme fraiche, onion, and dill...although I would have loved more bites on the plate. The bread was excellent...as it should be since it comes from Amelia’s. The butters were very interesting...the anchovy was packed with umami (my favorite), the peach was slightly sweet, and the roasted garlic oil was standard. The BLT came on a Pullman loaf, which didn’t hold up as well as I had thought. The flavors were on point...fresh veg, rich jowl bacon, a nice punch from aioli...although I didn’t get much from the saba. For me, I thought the sandwich could have benefited from just a tad more bacon. The homemade ginger beer was also excellent...refreshing! I appreciated the presentation in the glass...large ice cubes stacked on top of one another and a decorative slice of lime. Overall, I will come back because the food and drinks are great. I just can’t stay for a 1.5 hour lunch.

Marci Ball

I can't say enough good things about Bluebeard. I love the decor, the ambiance, the food, the service, the craft cocktails, the wine list, EVERYTHING. Our party of four was snug at the small barroom table, but everyone seemed comfortable and pleased with their choices. Dessert was BOMB. I plan to make a point to visit each time I make it down to Indy.

Matt Adsit

Excellence encapsulated. Great digs, food, and service. The highlight drink wise was the lower east side a wonderful twist on the Manhattan. Truffle toast was huge and flavor wise to die for.

This place is consistently amazing. I’ve been several times and it sets the bar for restaurants in the area. The building has this really cool modern industrial feel and you will find all different types of people here. The charcuterie board is amazing, the tamales were smokey, rich, and full of flavor. They also have $1 oysters one day, which are amazing.

Some of the best food I've had in Indy. They have a menu that rotates daily based on what they're able to source. Farm to table food, no exceptions. We went with the cheese platter for an appetizer and did the choices recommended by our waiter for that. Their side brussel sprouts are great. You'll pay a good bit for dinner here, but it's worth it for what you get.

Mike McDermott

Good food. Pricy

David Johnson

Lunch was good. Not as uppity as some other local haunts. Not overpriced either.

Kent Terrance

Bluebeard has been on our list of "Must-Try" restaurants for a couple years now. We finally took the time to go and it was SO worth it! The menu changes daily and everything is brought in fresh. Although it can be a bit pricey, that is to be expected with a quality restaurant that brings freshness and creativity to the menu. We were very impressed with the service and timeliness of the food, and our meal was spectacular! This is a great spot for a nice dinner date, and it's within walking distance of Hotel Tango and Chilly Water Brewing if you want to grab drinks after a great meal.

Angela Wire

This place has the most amazing artisan food and very unique cocktails. You must get the charcuterie board. Delicious!! 1/2 octopus dish and 2/2 skirt steak.

Kara Johnson

We had an amazing meal on the patio. Beautiful and delicious.

Maggie Cowan

Went for dinner hoping to try their meatloaf. But since the menu changes daily, it wasn't available. That's ok! I had the shrimp and grits. The food was delicious. It's very obvious that they use quality ingredients. Overall, I thought that it was a tad overpriced for what you get but the experience is worth it for a special occasion.

edwin mcdaries

Not bad, not great, good service

HaloFaith25

My husband and I had a date night this past weekend and he picked Bluebeard. The food & drinks were fantastic, the atmosphere was amazing, and the staff were outstanding. Would definitely recommend and can't wait to come back.

Anya SV

We really enjoyed sitting on the patio as the sun went down. The waiter brought out little candlelit lanterns. A great romantic spot! The food was amazing, highly recommend.

Jill de Jesus

It's very expensive, but the food and services worth it! Share all the foods, sit outside, enjoy the atmosphere. You'll be glad you did!

David Johnson

Lunch was good. Not as uppity as some other local haunts. Not overpriced either.

Angela Wire

Kara Johnson

We had an amazing meal on the patio. Beautiful and delicious.

Maxwell Paule

Incredible farm-to-table food. Literally everything I've had here has been delicious. Lamb. Salmon. Brussels sprouts. Cheeses. Cocktails. Do yourself a favor. Treat yourself.

Vince Edwards

We love the food! Almost everything we have tried has been completely delicious, and some of the offerings are unique or hard to find. The atmosphere and general ambiance is quirky and fun, too.

Abby Gale Reinhardt

We love the unique flavors, fresh farm to table goodness, and delightful atmosphere. Our server was hilarious & friendly, and we never felt rushed. Such a lovely time! Tip: get there before 5:20 if you want table, they fill up fast, especially outside on a weekend. The servers are super helpful & knowledgeable about the ingredients so don't be afraid to ask. We'll definitely be back! ✨

Darin Tucker

Everything about this experience was perfect. Meal, service, atmosphere... LaurenG was our server. She answered all our questions and provided perfect service.

Nicholas Lester

Terri Bradburn

Always fantastic menu choices, great food & service...their bartenders are the best in the Indy area. Come in for Tapas & a drink or a full meal. You will always receive top notch treatment! At our last visit Jacob was the "tour guide" through our culinary experience as we celebrated two birthdays. Inside or outside dining available. A great choice for something a little off the beaten path!

Zac Johnson

I will preface this by saying that I think my experience here was an anomaly. My wife and I ate here at the recommendation of many people. We walked in and they were not super busy, however as the dinner service went on, it got much busier. The service was subpar for us, it seemed like they sat us and forgot about us. I can appreciate waiting for a craft cocktail, and they were excellent, but the waiter did not approach us to refill water, nor did they ask if we would like another drink. Our appetizer took 45 minutes to get to us, and our entrees took 40 minutes after that. The food was incredible, but by the end of it we were just excited to get our check. I would love to try this place again, as everyone i have told about this experience was shocked to hear about the service.

Ryan Kehn

Great food! Unique recipes and combinations of flavor. The spicy shrimp is NO Joke!! The warning in the menu is not a gimmick. The ribeye was better than St. Elmos, thick, tender and flavorful. The small plates are all fantastic and a great cocktail menu.

Iolasgranddaughter 01

It was ok, very small, the brussel sprouts were delicious, but then th waiter came to the opposite side of the table to reach directly across my plate to give me the check. Literally leaned his upper body across my plate. It was strange.

Emma Williamson

The salad had everything you'd want: crisp lettuce, cheese, homemade dressing, and amazing texture and flavors. For the soup, I never would have put melon and berry into a soup and call it good but they found a way to do it. The presentation was so beautiful and the heat generated at the end was such a nice, subtle surprise.

Jason Brewer

One of the best original restaurants in Indianapolis. The menu is always changing with local selections. I recommend going early on a Sunday for the $1 oysters. The cocktail selection is amazing as well! The server was very knowledgeable for our first visit to help us decide. Fantastic outdoor seating just off the Cultural Trail. This is a must try for any foodie in the area.

Steve Feckete

Ehhh...I think a little overhyped. The service was friendly and attentive, so no complaints there. We were served drinking water that was barely cooler than room temperature. The herring appetizer was OK and was probably worth $6.00. I was disappointed in my fried chicken sandwich. While it was hot and generally flavorable, I took three or four bites that were mostly breading. The sandwich was accompanied by a small container of field greens. The greens were fresh but had virtually no dressing on them, which made them very bland. I feel that $16 for an overbreaded sandwich and bland field greens is too much. After reading previous reviews, I guess my expectations were too high because this was a lunch that didn't seem special to me at all.

Cara Campbell

My husband and I were staying in Carmel IN for our second wedding anniversary. He did the research for an interesting restaurant. We took the drive to Indy and had a blast trying the different items on the menu. Definitely something everyone should add to their fun adventures while in Indianapolis.

Andrew DeWitt

Always a great experience. Easily one of the best places in Indianapolis. The food is great, the cocktails are perfect, and the service is outstanding.

Jason Higaki

Good food and really neat how the menu changes so frequently. Only downside was that the portion of one of the entrees that we ordered was pretty small and didn't seem worth the price that was paid

Donald Perry

I wasn't planning for food on my way to visit my friend here in Indianapolis, however I saw this beautiful place and a friend of mine told me to try it since I will be passing this place as I head out to him I loved everything I had, the toast with crab was great and the fried chicken was wow! The green bean casserole with morel mushrooms is my new favorite now in this place that will definitely makes me keep on coming back in here. I had cheese pie for dessert which was the best pie so far I tried here in Indianapolis Staff has beautiful working spirit, attentive and give their best quality service to all their customers I will recommend this place to all my friends and relatives that will pass by in this area Great place, great staff, amazing foodies!

Diana McClure

Fabulous locally sourced menu changing daily! Kurt Vonnegut inspired decor. Great wait staff. Truly my favorite Indy restaurant

Lyl Rose

We loved this place. Came in just before closing between lunch and dinner and we’re welcomed warmly. Great menu. Delicious food and drinks! The desserts were also amazing. Our waiter was kind and efficient & made special after (lunch) coffee drinks for us. Cool, eclectic atmosphere. Check it out!

Brian James

Great atmosphere and amazing food best I've had in Indianapolis.

Don Perry

Always tops in town. Atmosphere, service, historic references, wine and liquor selections, and dishes, middle prices, (famous Edward Pierre architecture for an auto dealer) total up to best in town for lunch, dinner or hanging out.

MICHAEL CHILDS

Awesome food and drink for a date night.

Jonathan Mirgeaux

Amazing food. Make sure to get a large plate if you are expecting a meal!

Eddie

As always, the food was fantastic, and just on the right side of eclectic, as opposed to pretentious. The server was more of a guide to drinks, charcuterie, small plates and even desserts. He gave expert recommendations, even where our part wasn't sure what to select from the uniqe and consistently rotating menu. Come with a group, come with an appetite and come with a sense of adventure.

Nathan Bilancio

Great service and great food with attention to detail. They're constantly changing their menu, and I can't wait to go back!

usafradium .

great food but the wine list is pretty weak, idk if that's because of fountain sq not being a wine place or what

Samuel Leroy-Melamed

One of the better- if not the best- dinner spots in Indianapolis. I don't drink the cocktails, but my wife does. And, she's loved every one she's ever gotten. Decent enough beer menu to keep me from complaining! The medium and large plates are great for sharing between 2-4 people. The soups and salads are always creative. Some favorites from our most recent trip: Avocado gazpacho; shrimp toast; casarecce; and the chopped salad. Wait staff is always friendly, patient and knowledgeable.

Jeremie Beecroft

My wife and I came here on her birthday weekend, this was our second time here the first was the first weekend in Feb when they had devour Indianapolis. Both times were superb on this trip we had the duck and the brussel sprouts both out of this world. If you have the opportunity and are able to find this great little gem you'll not be sorry. Warning they do sit back off the beaten path and are kind of hard to find but are worth the hunt.

Robert Roller

Love this place. Slightly expensive, but worth it for a special occasion. A foodie's paradise, and amazing artisan drinks make it even better.

Marcia Powell

This restaurant is so so so good!!! And the service is just as phenomenal. My spouse and I were in town visiting from Chicago and came here for dinner. We had the tuna tartare, arancini, egg toast with chives and smoked roe, and finally the foie gras banana bread. All of the dishes were wonderful and I would order them all again happily but I will be dreaming about that foie gras and banana bread for a very very long time. We had such a nice experience here and will no doubt return here on our next visit to Indy.

Ashkan Bozorgzad

The food is amazing! It is quite and nice.

Derek Gibson

The food was excellent, as expected, and they seated our party very quickly. We had two extra people show up and they brought out extra chairs for our table. The staff was excellent and very attentive the entire night and it was overall a very memorable experience. Will definitely be back!

Ryan Taylor

Great food. Unique atmosphere. Best of Indianapolis.

lisa marie balog

Always love this place! Delicious food, fantastic drinks, amazing staff. ^_^

Daniel Duzenbury

Bluebeard does well with craft cocktails and various well put together food items. I recommend trying the charcuterie, they have a great selection, if you aren't familiar with all of the options the wait staff will gladly explain them to you.

Elyse Chudzynski

Delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Great cocktails! I got the pork belly and she got the ribs.

Robin Long

I loved my experience at Bluebeard. The staff was extremely friendly. I'm a bourbon lover and I first asked for a recommendation for a sweeter/caramel tasting bourbon or rye. L McCampbell

I was.disappointed. Overpriced for what it is. The food is really good but the atmosphere is totally lacking. Very small space.

Lainey Bell

Service was great and the food was fantastic. A great date spot. The quality of the farm to table makes up for the time it takes for the food to be served. The cocktails are awesome. Ribeye is amazing. Delicious oysters. Rotating menu daily

Dawn Ruh

Food was excellent, quaint and charming setting.

Google User

We heard a lot of hype about this place before going and were underwhelmed. I had the quail and it was extremely salty. Prices were high for small portions. There was also cold air blowing on us throughout our meal. We mentioned something to our waiter, but nothing was done about it. After getting the check, the lady clearing our table mentioned how cold it was and that we should have asked them to turn the AC down. We left irritated.

Erin Nysewander Tanner

Loved everything we had! The toast with crab was great and the fried chicken was amazing. The green bean casserole with morel mushrooms was especially good. The sauce was perfect. The chess pie was also one of the best desserts I have ever had. Great dinner and great service.

Ryan Wilkins

Wow. Food was fantastic. Service was good. But the FOOD was amazing, my girlfriend and I really enjoyed it. Awesome atmosphere.

This is our family's place to go for special evenings. We love pretty much everything about it. There are always new and interesting things to try. The wait staff is just better than anywhere else in the city. They know the answers to all of our questions. Love it!

First time visiting Bluebeard’s and was very impressed. The signage could have been better though. It’s winter and I can appreciate the use of a temporary entrance to help the people sitting by the door warmer, but the sign was not very visible. Kyle was our waiter and he was knowledgeable about the menu and very efficient. My friend and I shared nuts, salad, Brussels Sprouts and their awesome bread pudding! Wine was very reasonably priced.

Vince Edwards

We love the food! Almost everything we have tried has been completely delicious, and some of the offerings are unique or hard to find. The atmosphere and general ambiance is quirky and fun, too.

Outdoor space was amazing. The food was very good as well. The part that got me was the service not up to par. The other part was pricing for what you get. On the large plate, the rib eye was very small for the cost. You could go to Fleming's or Ruth Chris for the same price and get higher quality meat. Over good experience there.

We had the best experience at Bluebeard. We went to dinner with friends during a weeknight and everything was perfect. Our server was friendly and kind. Everyone enjoyed their food. Many people got the Cobb Salad, Casarecce and the Fried Green Tomatoes. Everyone at our table got the Vanilla Bean Chess Pie. The pie was amazing! Would recommend this restaurant. Such a fun, welcoming place with great food!
