Here you will be able to see the reviews of real people who are buying the services of Bento Asian Bistro (Restaurant) in the area close to the state of Indiana.
As of day the firm gets a score of 4.1 stars out of 5 and that rating is based on 382 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average of ratings is quite positive, and it's based on a very high number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the rating is quite credible. If people have bothered to value when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
You know that we do not usually bother to set scores when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...
This Restaurant belongs to the category of Chinese restaurant.
A good Asian Bistro. Their vegetarian options were good. I chose the Tofu or Mixed Vegetables Bento Box.. it was very good. The spring rolls were tasty as well.
Had the House Special Fried Rice which means every kind of meat they have in with the rice. Though they differentiated theirs from other Asian/Chinese restaurants by adding pineapple. At first I thought that was a little strange but after the first bite I was sold. It definitely enhances the dish. They pile the dish high enough that you HAVE to take some home with you. Will most definitely be back!
Good food. I just didn’t appreciate their lack of customer loyalty. Came like 10-15 mins before close and got met by a very rude one word greeting of “close!” I come in pretty regularly so I was quite taken a back that I wasn’t able to order food up until 10pm, which is when they close.
Great food at decent prices. Nice place to hang out for IUPUI students
Excellent spot for a quality quick bite in a casual atmosphere. The sushi is well prepared, the rice and noodle dishes are generously portioned, and service is quick. PLUS you can get a bubble tea in loads of different flavors. I recommend the crazy tuna roll with a Thai Iced bubble tea. A+
I was disappointed. Food was lackluster. More so fast food feel.
The have a typical American menu with mixed Asian cuisine and also a real chinese food menu on a chalkboard inside. Between the two there are endless options and on top of that: boba tea. Very yummy would recommend!
Consistently good, eat here all the time.
Good food and reasonable prices. Better than the average Chinese carry out.
Pretty alright, nothing amazing. Just solid Asian flavors at a decent price.
Sushi was ok not that good neither was the service, but the general tso's was very good
The food is fresh and delicious
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE. ABSOLUTELY THE WORST! I waited 30 minutes longer than my estimated delivery time to call. When I called I was told they would be here in 5 minutes. I called back after another 20 minutes to be told that I would need to wait another 10 minutes. I explained that it had been too long and asked them if they were going to compensate me for losing my lunch hour. They said no, that they could only give me A SPRING ROLL. So, I said, I will contact GrubHub and sort things out. They came back to say that, since I am contacting GrubHub, they are cancelling my order and will never deliver here again.
My favorite Asian restaurant in Indy. Expect a little bit of a wait as everything is made to order. Staff is always friendly and then prices are fair.
Food looked better than it tasted
In addition to Japanese lunch boxes, you could also find some authetic Chinese dishes
I've been there twice recently, one dine in, one carry out. Had Bento box both times and enjoyed it very much. The décor is very pleasing. I waited a full 30 minutes for my carry out order to be prepared. I will go again, but not if I am pressed for time.
The food is cooked with savory flavors and made quickly. I love the Bubble Tea too! Only one other place I one makes Bubble Tea, yet Bento does it best. The staff is wonderful and the restaurant is kept clean, which is always a positive to how they keep the food well prepped.
This was delicious!! Really great prices also. Good service. Sushi is yummy as well.
Always a great meal and service, excellent value.
They serve the freshest Asian food that I have tasted in Indy! I have ordered delivery twice and the food has always arrived hot and fresh which is rare with any delivery service. I have even ordered smoothies on both occasions and they have arrived cold. From now on, they will be the only Asian restaurant that I order delivery for.
Neat place and friendly staff. Super cheap entres and really good quantity too. I tried the spicy chicken mango Thai, which came with sushi, spring roll and fried rice. it could have been a bit more Spicer but overall it was fine.. The lamb dish I ordered was unfortunately not that great, the lamb was very hard/chewy. If you want some quick meal and also want to save some money, I would recommend this place.
Friendly, Delicious! We go there for the real traditional Chinese food which is on a separate menu. I bring my parents and they love it! I see a lot of Chinese students here as well.
Food: not bad but not great either. Portions: good. Service: very slow. We stood at the counter for 15 minutes before we could give our order (they were getting orders on the phone). Then waited quite a bit more for our food too. Although our two orders were the same except the choice of meat, my friend's order never came. Friend went up to ask and they said they had thought it was for takeaway and it was sitting all packed up at the counter instead
The customer service was really bad. I walked in and they wouldn't even look at me. The lady behind the counter was on her phone the whole time and didn't know what Red bean is for bubble tea. The bubble tea itself was below avaerage. The jelly tasted stale and the tea tasted artificial. Not used to this kind of food and service.
The food was good, the price was resable
Average food, slow service.
Yummy! Easy to look over with all the places around campus but ITS SO MUCH FOOD FOR CHEAP. Recommend it highly.
Arguably the best authentic chinese food in downtown. Great service and friendly staff. I enjoy myself everytime I visit here.
Pretty darn good!
The teriyaki chicken had a fishy taste. The rice wasn't great. My sushi roll was the only edible part of my bento box. I would have rather had room temp panda express.
This was my first taste of Asian food in Indianapolis. I ordered what should have been General Tso's chicken with a side of noodles, 2 springrolls, and mango/pinapple smoothie. Never again-this meal was purely disgusting. The General Tso's sauce was off color and had a really strong unpleasant odor. The noodles weren't cooked in any sort of flavoring, and even my smoothie is really off tasting-like canned mango. So, I spent almost 20 dollars for a meal that is headed straight to the trash. The only semi decent thing in the meal I just received was the spring rolls. GROSS!
I love this place. Their sushi is great and reasonably priced. The chicken teriyaki is some of the best I've ever had. The staff is very friendly and always accommodating. Overall amazing place highly recommended.
This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant. Love the food and the owners are always very nice and efficient. They also have fantastic smoothies and bubble tea.
Always full & happy after lunch/dinner! Call ahead to pick up hot orders; carry home for nutritious ready to eat meals.
Quick service, but food isn't that great.
The food was alright, and very reasonably priced. I only tried a bento box and taro bubble tea, so I may have been more impressed by something else on their menu. It seems like a good spot for college students - it's fast-casual and would be an okay spot for studying/working while eating.
Awesome place...
Good food. Nice staff
Best Asian food ever.
Super Great as Always!
Food is always great here, service is always fast.
They had the best spring rolls I've ever had!
They have authentic Chinese food! 孜然羊肉 (cumin lamb) and 三杯鸡 (three cup chicken) were super good! Bento options were good but I wish they would keep to authentic sides and not the Americanized sides.
I really like to eat at this restaurant, the taste is very good! And there are a lot of tricks, the speed of cooking is not so long, and the service attitude is very good, it feels great!
Delicious food at very good prices. A great value for pretty much everything you order. I had the pink lady roll and then ordered the mango sauce chicken and veggie stir fry to go. Nice staff as well. My main complaint is not specific to this place but to many Chinese restaurants which serve cream cheese wontons (they came as a side to my orders). I realize many people like them but to me, they are absolutely gross--a culinary nightmare which you will not find in Chinese food in China.
Good food a little pricey
Food was OK. But the night when we were there, the table next to us was talking loud, and making extremely big laughs. I told the staff about this, but the staff said he could do nothing. We were quite disappointed in how they handled the situation.
Their sushi is good but I've found their bento box meat is cheap. The overall feel of the place feels cheap...
I ordered sushi and a salad, a very minimal meal. I watched as order after order was completed (people who ordered AFTER me) until my food was ready over 30 minutes after I had ordered. If you want fast Asian food, this place is NOT the place you want to visit!
I’ve been coming here for over 3 years since I went to college around the restaurant. It’s one of my most memorable college experiences. Delicious food, down to earth surrounding and amazing owners. Thank you for making my tough days better.
Great food, not great timing on getting food out. Everyone gets their food one person and one plate at a time.
BAD,..Sushi lovers, PLEASE go to Sushi Boss instead, that's all i'm going to say.
This place is the BEST!
Shrimp fried rice is sooo good and I don’t even eat sushi but those spicy crab rolls were delicious!
I love this place. Food are tasty, clean environment, reasonable price. Bubble tea is great too!
Got a drink and noticed it tasted funny. Double check the cup and there was food caked on the inside. Gave them the cup, went to get a new one, and noticed several in the stack had food in them. Stuff usually gets that way when cups soak in dish water that has everyone's food in it. Nothing was done about the cups already out. After I told them about it and gave them my cup they didn't send anyone out to get the other filthy ones or check them. Disgusting. Food was good though.
Good food just no one speaks English and the cost is way to high for Chinese food
Good sushi at a good price. I've recently noticed they have bubble tea and I look forward to trying that out the next time I stop in. The only caveat to my experience is the service is a bit slow but the food is worth it if you have an extra minute.
Oh my goody goody gumdrops!!! They are the best! Our school orders from Bento on a regular. Everything is awesome...fast delivery..great food..and the different types of teas and drinks..PCRHS love this place. I am already looking at the menu to see what I will order next.lthomas
I like the bubble tea here
Great food and great bubble tea! The taro and blueberry are highly recommended, looking forward to trying the rest while I'm here for college. My friends and I love coming down here.
My husband and I love the bento boxes! They're filling, have a good variety, and come at a great price.
The best
Fast.
If I could give zero stars I would. I have ordered through grubhub at this place for almost 2 years. I loved it. My last two orders have been really bad. The first one I let go because I thought it was a fluke. However, today I received the wrong sushi roll and my coworker received only 6 pieces when last two times she had 10 pieces for her roll. I contacted grubbhub who contacted the restaurant. They advised grubhub that I was lying and refused to remake the order. Are you serious? For 2 years my coworkers and I have order at least twice a month. We give good reviews and never really complained. The one time you really mess up you cannot take responsibility? We will never order here again. I would pay more for better customer service. Even grubhub said they could not believe they would not remake the order. INSANE.
No chopstick or spoon and napkins for pick-up. Do not notice that until back home. The quantity of rice is extremely small.
Good food at a good price.
Fairly decent and authentic dining. Their portions are pretty generous. They have quite a few options. The only downside was that, even as the only customer in the restaurant, it took around 15 minutes for my to-go order to come out.
This venue offers a wide selection of bento box combinations and bubble tea. The food was delicious.
Cozy little place with great food, reasonable prices. Employees are very friendly and the atmosphere is nice.
Quick service and plenty of food. Had the terriaki and sushi.
I cannot day enough good things about this place! It is the BEST Asian food I have had in all of Indianapolis. I get their hibachi rice with shrimp and it is enough for TWO meals! Their portions are great and the food taste amazing. Also, I am super picky on spring rolls but these ones are perfect!
Always very polite and quick. They are very concise and accurate with my orders and would eat there every day if I could.
Expensive nice decor. None of bathroom doors lock
I saw an order slide across the counter to a customer and thought "IDK what it is, but I want it." and so I ordered the mystery plate and BAM, Fish in Oil! and it was Delicious!
Good food and excellent milk tea.
Bento' customer service is not good at all. So Bento' has reward cards that they stamp every time you bring the card and order an entree. I ordered The pad thai for delivery and asked if I could get a stamped rewards card and she said no .I told her that I ordered an entree and she knew I did because she took my order and still refused. She told me that I have to come into the restaurant to get a rewards card. The customer service is straight up disrespectful and they only care about saving money not their customers .
Chinese food. We like it a lot. Very convenient place. Besides the Bento box menu, the Chinese dishes are on the white board. Some of them are very authentic and delicious. Bamboo pork is my favorite. They also has the bubble tea, many different flavors.
great food and always hot
The Orange Chicken is delicious.
The Yuki udon noodles with beef is amazing. The pineapple fried rice is really good. Most people order the boxes but would recommend trying the other options.
It was our first time there and we were impressed the value! We each ordered a Bento Special and got more than enough food to fill us up. Definitely recommend!
My go to for Chinese food near IUPUI. Their prices are fair and the portions are big. The food is made to order and always hot. Their bubble tea is also great.
Great value. Amazing food.
Longer wait than I would have liked but great food.
Greatest Asian restaurant I've ever been too! Friendly staff! Amazing food!
Large amount of food for what you pay. This place has boba tea!
Bento is amazing! The food is as close to authentic as you can get in downtown Indy. It reminds me of the food I had on the daily during my time in China. Highly recommended!!!
Their food is always very good! For the same price as a gross fast food hamburger meal, you can get freshly cooked Asian meal that fills your belly and is much healthier for you!
They used to be a really nice place but it's just turning into another run down Chinese restaurant.
Everything we have gotten from here has been really tasty! Cream cheese wontons dont lack in filling like most chinse places. Teriyaki chicken and honey walnut shrimp are my favorite dishes from here. If you get the bento box, I would suggest upgrading your sushi because the California roll was a little lacking. Only thing I can really complain about was the price of the gyoza - not worth $5 for only 6 small peices. Try the bubble teas if you havent before! Mango is my favorite!
Bento box is delicious and not expensive. Service is slow and the dinning environment is loud and has strong Chinese stir fry smell.
Great food. Long wait.
A pretty good place for a quick bento box! The restaurant itself doesn't look all that appealing, but the food was alright. I got a sushi bento box with a thai bubble tea. It was all at least passable. Nothing bad, but nothing incredible. There are better sushi places in Indianapolis, so if that's what you're looking for I would recommend elsewhere. I always prefer places where I can see the preparation of the sushi, instead of doing it behind a big wall like they do here.
Good food and nice environment. Excellent wontons.
Very good bubble tea!
Jalapeno chicken is very good
Poor! The lady cashier yelled in front of me.
Excellent, and you get a ton of food for a reasonable cost.
Never skimps out on the rice. The only authenticate Chinese food near downtown.
Great selection for asian food. A good place for dinner and quick bites.
The Food is excellent.
Delicious food!!! And cheap
Drew makes the best boba bubble tea ever! Food's good too.
Love getting the hibachi fried rice here with a boba tea
My coworkers have been ordering from them for years. We ordered delivery from them today. They brought my coworker the completely wrong roll. It was covered in spicy mayo and the roll does not even list spicy mayo in the description. They were unwilling to make it right so it looks like we will have to find a better place to order sushi from.
My co-workers and I love this place! We go here every friday. The food tastes amazing and it's pretty inexpensive compared to other places around Indy.
Horrible customer service. Food is subpar. Informed the cashier I was allergic to shellfish and they gave me a cheese wonton with crab meat without offering any substitutions. Requested seasame chicken, received orange chicken and the man sprinkled seasame seeds on the chicken at the counter before handing me my food. Trash.
Great deals, great food!
Really good food, great prices, nice decor. Definitely going to be a regular place to eat.
On a good day its good, other days its ......something
Great food and family friendly
Good for quick quality food. I like the miso soup. Items priced a bit high for what they are, but good quality food.
I ordered the pineapple
I went to this place with my friends and had a great time over there. Service was fast and food was hot and fresh and tasty also.
I LOVE their bubble tea! All of the flavors are amazing. The food is delicious and the presentation is beautiful. The restaurant is wonderfully decorated as well.
The Bent Boxes are always great. A good deal for the money spent. I haven't tried the sushi rolls, but I hear they're good. Their fried rice and pad Thai, though, are a bit bland. Overall, a great place.
My new go to place for tasty food - btw it's basically a Chinese restaurant that happens to have some Japanese menu items, IMHO.
The Boba tea is amazing
fast service, friendly staff, satisfying food.
Dont offer online delivery services if you cannot keep up with the demands of your customers. Our orders always get canceled!
Ordered the sweetheart roll, my fiancé ate less than two pieces of it. I liked the sushi, as long as it’s not raw, because I wouldn’t trust this place’s raw fish. Opt out for the California roll here if you need to. Whatever dressing they put on the salads looks like diarrhea and tastes like sugar. I would’ve preferred a plain salad.
Great Asian food for a pretty good price
chilly boiled fish is amazing. me like it!
I just got back to the US after living in Southeast Asia for the last four years. I was told that this place was really good and served "authentic" bubble tea. I went in and started ordering, while speaking Chinese. The guy behind the counter looked annoyed that I was speaking Chinese and responded in English, asking what flavor bubble tea I want. This seemed odd, since traditional bubble tea doesn't have various "flavors". I continued to order but switched to English. I noticed that it took a very long time to get the drink, which also seemed odd, because it takes less than 2 minutes from ordering a drink to receiving it, in Asia. While I waited, I saw a woman bringing the guy a tray of bubbles (tapioca pearls) from the fridge, which is a bad sign. The guy came back without my drink, for some reason. I asked him what kind of cuisine was offered, since the theme seemed inconsistent. He looked at me like I was stupid and didn't even respond. I said "well, I see one dish is Mongolian, another is Thai, another is Taiwanese, etc" to which is snapped angrily "CHINESE, this is a CHINESE restaurant". I decided not to point out that none of the dishes I had pointed out were Chinese, and instead I just let it go. He quickly walked away and a few moments later he brought my drink. It was tiny. The bubble tea drinks in Asia are 2x to 3x as large as the one he brought me, and they cost between $1 and $1.50. This tiny bubble tea he brought me had costs around $4 or $5. I gave it a taste and... It was awful. They used cream powder instead of fresh milk, and the bubbles were old, cold, and hard rather than fresh, soft, and warm. I asked the woman who was now at the register (I spoke Chinese so that none of the other customers would understand me, in an effort to save the workers from any feeling of embarrassment) "why is this drink so small and yet so expensive?" to which she replied "oh, no, this is the normal size and price that it always is in Asia". I said (still in Chinese) "no, this is very small and very expensive, in Asia, they are much cheaper and much larger". She replied "oh, really?" To which I said "yes, they are...". She didn't respond after that, she just gave me a dirty look and then walked away. I had never mentioned that the drink was also awful, but in an effort to leave on a positive note, I lied and said (in Chinese) "this is a very good drink, thank you" to which both the man and the woman scoffed at me and didn't respond. As I was leaving, my friends from Taiwan called me (video call) and I showed them the bubble tea. The first thing they said was "wow, why is it so small?!". When I told them what had happened, they looked embarrassed and said "wow, those people are giving Asians a bad name, that's terrible. You shouldn't go there, anymore". This place is overpriced. The bubble tea I had was awful. The workers are incredibly rude. I will never go back and I will actively make sure to steer people away from this place.
Don't buy bubble tea .they fill half the cup with ice
I have eaten here twice now. The food is very good, quick and fresh. Staff is very nice and I look forward to trying other dishes.
This was my second visit here, and it was just as good as the first one. Reasonable prices, big portions, friendly service and clean dining areas. I recommend you give Bento Asian Bistro a chance, you will not be disappointed, working on my third visit soon.
Usually like the food and service, but why did it take 34min to give me my one order when I was told it would be 16 min and I just watched 5+ orders placed after mine get served first? Thanks for wasting my lunch hour.
Everything is always excellent and they have a wide range of diverse options. The service interaction is about what youd expect to get at a Chinese fast food place, but it's more a cultural thing than rudeness. A tad expensive, but worth the money.
Food and tea were both excellent!
Delicious and fast.got the coconut shrimp with a yummy sauce that was the best part of my year, to be painfully honest
The bubble tea is awesome. Very few veggie options .
Authentic cuisine. Not fancy but very clean and large servings of goods food.
Ben to Asian Bistro always satisfies us. The food is good an so is the price.
Back when I was in college at IUPUI, this strip mall area was chock full of chain stores and other nonsense. It seems to have taken a turn and a fair number of independent eateries have opened up. I ordered a take-out order during my recent hospitalization because I was in desperate need of FLAVOR and Hospital Food does not provide that. For those not familiar, these Bento boxes are basically full meals and even if you're really, really hungry, DO NOT over order because you will get a lot of food between one box and maybe adding an appetizer. So for the food I actually ate, I had the General Tso's Chicken bento box (yeah, I know, go ahead and crack the jokes) and the gyozas. The gyozas were actually the highlight of the meal. The meat was juicy and flavorful, a bit of soy sauce helps but not entirely necessary. These were good, and I imagine they would've been even better if they were served dining in at the restaurant fresh and hot. The box came with the chicken and sauce, a couple pieces of broccoli, sushi (New York roll was my choice) and some brown rice. Again, this is a good amount of food for a good value. Nothing blew me away, but I was just happy to have non-hospital food. I was stuffed after this and barely touched my udon noodles or the salad. Yeah, I know, who orders salad at a bento box place? Well I do, because the hospital's definition of a "salad" all have meat or cheese on them. This had neither, but still, way too full to really properly enjoy it and give it a good review. Overall, if I was hospitalized again or if I was regularly living and working in the area, I'd probably come here on a regular basis. I don't know if this quite makes a destination dining experience, but if you're an IUPUI student or a nearby resident/worker, this is probably one of your better choices for your lunch break.
The food is pretty amazing for being apart of the "Hub" for anyone going to IUPUI. There's a handful of asain based restaurants nearby, but as it stands, this one is the best. It's always busy so you already KNOW it's good. I had the beef yaki-udon, and granted I had to wait a bit, the food was well worth it. Also the price is affordable to anyone. 5/5.
Very good
Taste great
Highly recommend the filet fish in chili oil and the Singapore Chao Mei fun. We always grab these when we have to stop at the hospitals nearby, since we live an hour away. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, this is it. They also have some Americanized choices and sushi and bento boxes.
Great food
This is a real authentic Chinese food restaurant that also offers American-ized Chinese food too. The authentic Chinese food is excellent but it is hard to know what to order because it is written on a white board in Chinese and the white board gets touched a lot, so the writing is coming off. I think there are some English subtitles to the menu, but no pictures or detailed description and it is difficult to read. The last time I was there I was frustrated at not knowing which authentic dish to order so I got a bento box instead. Mistake. I got the orange chicken and it was gross! It is much easier to dine here if you know Chinese or go with your Chinese speaking friends.
Unique non chain place that serves up small bento box meals. Popular with the college crowd. With a wide menu that even steps outside and puts unusual twists on old favorites.
Fairly priced and you get a lot of food for the cost. They're decently fast and the boba is great.
This is one of my favorite dinner places in Indy! The sushi is fantastic, and very reasonably priced. Honey roll bento box pictured here.
After my son ate the sushi, he thought it was great until he got back home and threw up. Avoid sushi from this place unless you want to get sick!!!
Food is not good
