Chose this restaurant because I really wanted to treat a college student whom I've known for 4 years. The waitress who was nice, didn't seem to automatically understand what pommes frites were. She struggled with both of us on this detail. The chicken boursin sandwich was lovely for both of us. (And the 'French Fries') The cream brulee was very nice as well. But my guest's: Profiteroles 8 Filled with coffee ice cream & topped with chocolate ganache Was topped with Hershey's chocolate syrup. Ok. Let me explain. My father grew up in Milton Hershey School as it was an orphanage in the late 40s and 50s and still is today. We had only Hershey products available to us out of gratitude growing up. I am now significantly past forty, and I know what this lovely confection tastes like. I phoned the restaurant and spoke to what I can only surmise is an adolescent without success. When I asked to and spoke with the manager I received the response that the 'ganache' was outsourced to another business. I believe this business must have been Kroger. Just be honest people. And if you're going to sell me a Dairy Queen sundae, then tell me. Cheryl S.

The service was outstanding and the food was lovely as well. The pictured profiterole was amazing! My only caution is that of you are not a pepper fan, they use white pepper in some dishes so that there is spice you will be unaware of until after you eat a bite. Not a problem for me, but one of my dining companions was affected.

Great setting and fantastic food.

Angus Lock

Fantastic quiche and moules et frites for very reasonable prices. Highly recommend it.

For the price, the food should have been warmer and the service faster. Not sure I'll go back.

I am French and I really enjoyed the food there. It was tasty and light. We shared an appetizer and an entree. The cassoulet is delicious, even though it is sort of Americanized (for example they added some carrots and some breading). The dessert was very good as well and reminded me of home. As for the service, we were well care for and didn’t have any complaints.

Somewhat limited selection, but the plates were very tasty. Service was decent but didn't blow me away. A bit expensive. Cool atmosphere. Charcuterie board was a bit sparse.

Having lived about 6 blocks from Auberge since it opened, I have visited the restaurant approximately 10 times, which I believe is sufficient to give a full review. The Pros: the Brunch on the weekends is very good and, in my opinion, the best time to visit the restaurant for the most positive experience. The service I have had for brunch has been significantly better than for dinner. The food is typically very good on the dinner menu as well. However, I have had issues with my dinner coming out cold. When this did occur the manager corrected the issue quickly. The manager (I cannot recall her name) is quite professional and really seems to care about the quality of the guest experience. The Cons: The wine service is not very good. There are no vintages on the wine list, which makes it difficult to select a bottle of wine. In addition, the red wines seem to be stored at room temperature in the restaurant. The number of people in the dining room, the kitchen, etc., mean that the room is quite warm, and too warm for red wine. Each time I have gotten a bottle of red wine it is quite warm and detracts from the enjoyment of the wine. Many of the servers also struggle with wine service. On Saturday when I dined at Auberge the server set 3 wine glasses on the table in a triangle shape, poured the wine and left them there for our table to pass out instead of separately placing a glass in front of each person enjoying wine. About half of the servers could also benefit from either additional support or a lesson in service re keeping water glasses full, timing of courses, and general service standards. It is difficult to tell if the servers are overwhelmed or undertrained. Even with the issues that Auberge has, I continue to return and continue to hope that it will find its footing to develop into the restaurant that it has the potential to be. Since the food is typically wonderful, I hope that the restaurant will be able to raise it service standards to match. It is nice to have a French restaurant in Zionsville and I hope that Auberge is on the brick street for years to come.

Mothers Day nightmare! If zero starts were an option I would select that option. My husband planned a Mother's Day brunch at Auberge and booked a reservation days in advance. Our family of six arrived and were placed in a back overflow room, although there was plenty of seating. Everything that you can imagine went wrong: took over 30 min to get water, 1 hour before the waitress took our order, most items were out and/or no longer offered but still on the menu, you dine at a French restaurant but have to order bacon, eggs and toast, waitresses were having breakdowns in the back of the restaurant, manager was MIA and not there to support the employees, general manager quit a couple weeks prior, etc. All of this I could possibly get over if the manager that was on duty would have made her rounds and apologized or even greeted guest by saying we are having some issues we recommend that you dine somewhere else. Turning patrons away would have been a far better experience. This is clearly not a manager issue. This is an ownership problem. Zionsville is a beautiful town that prides itself in it's wonderful restaurants and downtown appeal. This is not an establishment that should be in a place like Zionsville. There was a lady that asked to speak to a manager, I overheard her telling the manager that she made reservations weeks ago and brought her out of town guest with her to dine at Auberge. What an awful experience for out of town guest to have of Zionsville. I am in search of finding out who the owner is because this was beyond awful!

The food was ok but this restaurant is racist. The lady brought us bacon burnt it was so burnt that we couldn't break it then when we ask for more bacon she says oh yes it doesn't look that good when I brought it out...so why did you bring it? She boxed other peoples food(whites)and doesn't do ours yes peoples with an S. So if you have any color to your skin I would recommend going somewhere else. They are also over priced $4.00 for 2 skinny pieces of bacon. Also when we were walking out people(including staff)looked at us up and down and things. It just isn't POC friendly.

We went for brunch on a gorgeously sunny day and it was clear that the staff and kitchen were overwhelmed. On the positive side, lovely place with nice outdoor dining space and excellent coffee (which we consumed much of while waiting an excruciating time). On the negative side the servers were overwhelmed and the kitchen is small resulting in very slow and uneven service. When our meals finally arrived they were good but all agreed that their food could have been warmer.... it wasn’t cold but seemed to have been sitting a while. Overall an ok experience but frustratingly slow and disappointing for the price. We’d try it again and hope for better. Our server was very nice and apologetic... not her fault. Understaffed, disorganized and slow

My food was cold and the service was very slow during their downtime. I would hate to see how the service would be during a dinner rush.

Atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, though tables were close together as the place itself is pretty small. The food was quite basic/bland, especially for a $25 meal, save the creme brûlée, which was excellent. Service was pretty minimal. I was really expecting more all around - service-wise and food-wise.

This place was very disappointing. We came here for brunch one weekend. The waitress set a new low for service. She completely forgot about us to the point that we asked the hostess to wait on us. Multiple people left. They couldn't offer orange juice because it was frozen. Somehow they were pouring mimosas for others. The food was ok. The crepes were a very small portion. Just a very disappointing experience overall.

Service was spotty, very very slow... took nearly 20 mins to get my cocktail and the appetizer brought to the table, out of the gin for the cocktail, had to ask for drink menus, which they had to hunt for, food was merely so-so, told outside was not available and after others were seated there. Overall, underwhelmed...won't be a repeat stop for my party.

Quaint location, lovely patio alongside the brick mainstreet of Zionsville. French inspired menu and extensive wine list and some local craft beer on tap.

Michael Eisenhut

Very, very good food. Nice quiet atmosphere, not too fancy though. The chef's prix fixe menu is good and changes often. Wine pairing is spot on and the service is excellent. A great place for special occasions or if you just want some great food with family or friends and don't mind spending a little bit extra.

Worth the wait, food is outstanding. Yep a little slow but like everyone when help doesn’t show, stuff happens. But the food is fantastic. We’ll be back..

I cannot express how much this restaurant and inn helped us to celebrate my mother's celebration of life. They provided a wonderful banquet and impeccable service.I had friends staying from out of town and they said the hotel treated them as if they were royalty. If you ever get the chance to visit or eat at at Auberge, I highly recommended it. Thank you again to the wonderful staff and chef.

Loved their brunch!! We sat outside, it was beautiful and their food was excellent!

Peter Paul Meyer, the German born French trained chef exhibits the German attention to detail and the French flair for the culinary art. Tuna tartar came with thinly sliced butternut squash drizzled with balsamic vinegar. Perfect to roll up some tuna, not only delicious but healthy. I did not notice that the Lyonaise salad came with bacon which I do not eat. No problem, the chef remade it. My wife had the crab cake and shrimp served over risotto with baby arugula. It was delicious. For dessert we split the flourless chocolate cake which was also superb. They make all their own desserts. Thanks to Dominic for superb service. We will be back.

So good! The menu was amazing. Wine suggestions were perfect. I read reviews that said portion sizes we're small so I ordered an appetizer. The app was good, but there was plenty of food that I wouldn't have felt the need for one.

WOW!! We stumbled on this new lil place for brunch Sunday morning since Rosie's had too long of a wait and WHAT A FIND!!! The food was absolutely fabulous, the staff (especially Drindy) was wonderful, and the place was super cute and quaint. We literally loved everything about it! We can't wait to go back for dinner as their wine list was also amazing! Both the poutine and croque madame were on point and the bacon was the best I've had in a long time! This new gem is definitely a winner! Well be back soon...and often ;)

The food is straight up awesome. I got ratatouille and I cried a little bit.

We were there for about an hour and a half before finally asking for our meal to go. In that time as I waited for just a salad, my wife's soup came out cold, i never had a refill on the one glass of water, we had to explicitly ask for the last wine pairing before leaving, part of the order was missing upon checking the to go bag, and in the meantime at least three tables within eyesight that were seated at least 30 minutes after us had their order and was nearly finished. Upon calling the restaurant once noticing part of the order was missing I was met with a long winded automated message. Two days after asking for someone to call back they couldn't be bothered to reach out. Quite possibly the most frustrating dining experience I've ever had.

Mother's Day Disaster. I made reservations earlier in the week because the pictures reminded me of a trip we took to Quebec. I was looking forward to sampling the crepes. When we sat down and began to order, we were informed that they were out of crepes as well as French toast, croissants, and so on. A few other things that were on the menu were discontinued and the new menus hadn't been printed. Our options were so limited that we settled for bacon and eggs and oatmeal (things I could have made at home). We were told that the General Manager quit a couple of weeks prior, another manager walked out earlier that day, and the only manager on duty was the bar manager who was getting an earful from other patrons. So where was the owner? In the end, the food was over-priced and the wait after we were seated (more than an hour) was unbearable. Why didn't we leave? Because where else could you get brunch without reservations on Mother's Day?

Brian Neher

I hate to give bad reviews after one visit but this was a bad visit. We were shown our table but it was short 2 chairs, the hostess went to get 2 more for us but never came back, we found chairs at other tables. Our server started strong but faltered by the end. It took a long time to get our cocktails, so much longer to get our meals and when we ordered desert, she brought it out without the coffee. My meal was good but I think so hot I couldn't eat it right away which was good because we had to wait so long for my girlfriend's meal to be refired because her duck was very overdone.
