Saturday lunch buffet was wonderful!
Always great food and service
The only Indian restaurant in Columbus Indiana. Alacarte better than buffet
I asked for vegan food but I am Shure there was milk in the curry
Good Indian food. The lunch buffet is great with lots of options for $12. Scores low on service
It is a little difficult to find the restaurant but we asked in the similarly named grocery store and they directed us around the corner into an alley where the door was located. The food was very good! We order the palak paneer which comes with rice and the spinach naan. The only reason for the less than five star review was that the service was a little confusing. We had three different servers and all three sort of stopped coming by after we got our food. We decided to go to the counter to pay as we'd seen a few other groups do and were told we weren't supposed to do that. A good restaurant overall though and would recommend it if you're in Columbus.
Again it was good Every time I’m in Columbus, IN I visit here. This time on a Saturday night with a colleague. The Service was fast. The service was typically friendly. We had Lamb and Chicken Vindaloos. There were excellent. You have a choice how hot you would like them.
Great food. The lunch buffet has been different every time I've gone, and it never disappoints.
The worst food and worst service that I have never seen in my life
Excellent food i loved it the 5 stars is for that. However 1 of the waiter/cashier "i do not know his name" can improve his customer relationship skills instead of being/acting like an aggressive douchebag. I understand how fastpaced it can be at a restaurant considering i used to work at 1 in a similar spot like that guy but that dosent mean u got to act like a aggressive douchebag towards customers in general. Hope that improves but general selection of items in the attached market area and food quality is pretty good.
Amazing Indian food for a small town in Southern Indiana. Meat, vegetarian, and vegan options. Don't mind the presentation from my photos. I chose the Sunday self-serve buffet
You can a buffet take away for less than 20 dollars. They are friendly and the service is great. I like that I can eat and go around the corner to the market.
Absolutely the best Indian food we've ever had in the states. Atmosphere and service are also excellent. Nothing to compare in southern Indiana.
Been here twice so far, each time has been delicious! Better then all the places I've been for Indian cuisine in Cleveland where I used to live. It's become our favorite place to eat. We'll keep coming back!
Great place to eat in Columbus. Lots of vegetarian dishes, and meat dishes too.
Went for lunch buffet and the food was really good. Definitely worth every $.
Not a fan of lunch buffets here. It's ok sometimes if you go early. Dinner is dine in, it's much better than the buffet.
Terrible service. The buffet is decent but always too spicy. Prices are a bit high for the quality of food.
Hidden gem nestled behind a strip mall. You would never know it were there if a local didn't insist you drive between two other buildings to get to it. Friendly service, wide selection of items on the buffet. The price is very reasonable for the selection and the quality. Nevermind that they don't serve soda, you will love the tea.
Just ate the lunch buffet! There were many vegetarian dishes to choose from! I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is a fan of Indian food!
Great indian food with a little spice. Service was quick and the food was fresh.
Huge menu that can be overwhelming if you're not versed in Indian cuisine, but I've always loved my meals. The restaurant is off the main road in the alley between two buildings, so it's not easy to stumble upon. Their lunch/dinner buffet has the essentials of Indian meals and their prices are reasonable. Good sit-down-restaurant atmosphere. At the time of this post, I'm pretty sure they're the only Indian restaurant in town, so they service the local Indian customers instead of tailoring the menu for the American palette, so you get a good taste of something more authentic.
Very average food. I don't think I'll go here again. The food quality needs to be improved tremendously. One of the reasons could be that this is the only Indian buffet restaurant in Columbus and hence they don't have a reason to compete with any other place.
The only Indian place in town but will stand competition if it had to. Very good meals and good service.
Love this place!
Great Indian food joint in Columbus. Friendly staff and clean amd comfortable atmosphere. Food quality is great even buffet has lots of variety.
Had been wanting Indian food for some time now, and there were not many selections in my area. Made a visit to Columbus and made a point to come here for the lunch buffet. I was not impressed at all. I didn't care for any of the food, maybe I had high expectations. Also felt that the lunch buffet was overpriced (if I was charged correctly). However, the desserts were some of the best Indian desserts that I have had.
Food was salty and lacked flavour. Have seen quality degrade over the last one year. Definitely would not recommend.
Amazing place for authentic Indian food.
Reasonable buffet.
Delicious!
Best Indian place in Columbus!
Buffet was ok, busy place. Ok service. Not bad for going just once.
Very good . Buffet is the best deal.
Food and some items are good, my wife some how she dint likes her favorite paneer butter masala. Buffett is good but little expensive compare to Atlanta.
Delicious food and great atmosphere. Always happy to return.
good food.
Authentic indian food. Love it!
Went for lunch buffet. Delicious and no complaints at all.
Food is very good. The waiters are extremely rude. The service is directly proportional to the amount of food you order. Would like to go again for the taste but the service will keep me away from the restaurant.
Always a good meal and great service! Large, family style portions make it easy to get several items to share.
Ordered carry out from their website which i thought was a great service to have only to find they nolonger look at the website orders when i showed up to collect my food. If that feature doesnt work then take it off your website.
Wonderfully authentic Indian Cuisine - I haven't had food like this in years! It tastes as good as the food my friend's mom would make at home. Would recommend to anyone looking for an authentic Indian restaurant. Most definitely a hidden gem in Columbus, IN! I especially enjoy the dinner buffet on Sunday evenings.
Good food all Indians. Having both South & North Indian foods
The best Indian food in Indiana, prices are fair too.
Great Indian cuisine.
I love the food. The buffet is $12.27. It’s delicious and fresh. Sure, I will be back.
This restaurant must go!. It has dipped in quality over the years. They used to have decent Biryani and Lahori Paneer before. Now every dish tastes like something just whipped up in the last minute. The main reason being "Indian cooks" have been replaced by chefs who dont understand or have the knowledge of Indian spices, flavours and seasoning. It honestly tastes like everything dumped in at one instance. This might be a measure to cost cut but customers are having to suffer. I am glad other restaurants like Numkeenz have opened up. So this restaurant can no longer get away with sub-par quality and service.
Way too spicy. I don’t usually have that much of a problem with spice but this was impossible to enjoy in my opinion. And they don’t serve ice with your water which is obviously a problem when my mouth is on fire.
Good ambience and very clean. But, they take a lot of time to serve the food and there is a chance that your dish might have something missing. Like we have order veg. Platter and there was samosa missing in it. But overall, we enjoyed the food and the waiters are friendly.
Great place for lunch. They have buffet and many choices for vegetarians.highly recommend this place.
Good food and a great experience.
My favorite Indian restaurant so far! Their lunch buffet is amazing, lots of options to choose from. I usually go their for lunch buffet, but I have tried their catering service as well which was good too. I love their crispy pakoda( veg fritters) and deserts!!
Don't have a standard to compare it to but those who are more experienced in my group said it was pretty good and authentic. If you like spicy you'll love it!
I must have visited this place for more than 100 times in last 2+ years to write this review. ( Some initial visits on my own, rest all just coz I had no option ) On a really honest note, this is not really a good place to satisfy your craving for Indian food. Preparation of the food is not authentic and way far from being called Authentic Indian. 1. Sometimes the Lamb or Chicken would smell bad, giving you a sense that the meat used is not fresh. This has been a routine now. 2. The service is another big problem here. You ask for Naan / Dosa and it may not be on your table even after waiting for 30+ mins and repeated reminders . There have been times when we finished our Lunch and didn't get any service till end. Other tables not in need would be served, but you would be forgotten. 3. The taste would never be the same. You order a dish one time, and it would come in different flavor next time. 4. Lunch Menu is almost same every day. I have hardly seen the Menu changing in last more than 02 years. 5. Boiling chicken pieces and mixing it with tomato gravy is not "Butter Chicken", unfortunately you will always find the boiled chicken pieces getting added to the gravy 6. Owner of the Restaurant is not really open to feedback. If you try to provide negative feedback on uncooked Tandoori chicken or awful smelling Lamb curry, you may sometimes get a rude response like "Nobody is complaining, only you seems to have a problem" So overall, this restaurant is not really worth a visit anymore unless we are running out of options or someone invites for team lunch here. I would prefer driving till Greenwood or Indy to get a better food and skip this.
The food was good and had enough variety of vegetarian dishes but the waiter was quite rude. We reached at 1:30pm and he said restaurant is closing in 10 minutes while the timings were written up to 2pm. Also he was busy driving away other customers atleast 4-5 people and they started removing food trays at 1:45pm as if they were obliging customers. The owner must keep a watch on the waiters else he will lose business.
Nice food and the only gud option in columbus. Had lots of variety !
I have been to this restaurant a couple of times. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and excellent food. I liked everything about this Restaurant. The best Indian restaurant I've been to so far in USA.
My wife and I love Indian food but this was one of the worst we've been to. Service was terrible and food was definitely not up to expectations. Definitely won't go back.
Amazing food and reasonably priced. It is known for being one of the best Indian restaurants in Indiana and it definitely didn't disappoint!
Made my day, everything was delicious and the staff were all so welcoming!
Very good food
Came in for the lunch buffet, was very pleasantly surprised. Chai tea, naan, wide variety of buffet options. Fed my wife and I for $30. 10/10 would recommend.
Love this place, so delicious!
Just loved this place (not for the food but the restaurant itself). The ambience inside reminds me of restaurants back in Mumbai-India (aroma of food and enclosed air-conditioned restaurants). Food was also good. It was a bit too oily but was delicious. The garlic naan also tasted great.
The place has average quality of ambience. One has to walk through the side path of the Apna bazaar to find the restaurant. The food is okayish during weekend Buffets, it has Crab curry masala which is very rare to get in buffet. Other items are just normal taste wise.
Nice Indian Food
Decent Indian Restaurant at Columbus, IN. The restaurant is spacious, clean and the people here are nice. Sometimes could take a lot of time for the order to be taken and food served. The lunch buffet items are a hit or miss. My favorites here are the Baingan Bartha, Chilli Naan and the Vegetable Biryani.
Staffs and service good
Its always hit or a miss (specially for buffet lunch). A la carte is usually better in terms of quality.
Great Food. The paneet tikka masala was delicious. The place is kind of small and is usuay packed. Great atmosphere. The buffett spread is great. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Columbus.
Best Indian food. I would suggest Sunday Dinner which has buffet and lots of options and tasty starter and sweet dish..
Quality of aala carte menu has deteriorated over time at this place. Idli was rubbery, Indian curries were salty. Buffet is the only option to have some decent food at this place.
A decent enough place with some good food. Lahori Paneer is good.
I loved their buffet on Tuesday. It was spectacular. The food was great and not crowded at all
Between 3 and 4 stars. I typically go for the lunch buffet. Good options and variety.
Lunch buffet is best.
Tasty food.. clean restro..less time for deliver order.
I love the lunch buffet!
Only been while the buffet is going, but never had a bad meal. Always fresh and quick service. Would recommend!
Good taste, moderately priced and clean place to enjoy Indian cuisine with family and friends
Love this place. Very extensive menu.
Good dinner, well cooked South Indian food. I prefer the individual ordering over the buffet menu. Good and friendly staff!
Very good people and food
This one of the best, if not the best, restaurant in Columbus. Excellent service, excellent food, good dining environment, and reasonably priced. Look for this place as it is not on a main road. The manager has given us complimentary appetizers multiple times. He is very personable and remembers his customers.
Food quality has consistently degraded since past couple years and now have reached to worst quality I have ever experienced. Staff were ignorant to hear any feedback. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. I'll rather drive to Greenwood, Bloomington or Cincinnati to experience better Indian food than ever visiting this restaurant.
Very good Indian food
Excellent food! I like saag, paneer, and curry dishes. The naan is great! I live an hour away but I get take out from here every time I am in town. A 7 is very hot on a scale 1 to 10. I usually order everything at a spicy 6. The dining area is beautiful. I will visit again.
Had their Sunday buffet. It was delicious! A wide variety of dishes including vegetarian, vegan, and meat styles. The staff was very attentive. Would like to try their menu items as well. It's down the side of the building, so we went into the store first and they directed us around to the restaurant.
I love apna. Uncle gave me water and Auntie set the table. I love naan.
I was there for lunch Buffet. There is good variety in buffet Food is good but desserts are overpowered by too much of cardamon.
Great Indian food, average service.
Some of the best food I have ever had
Good food, nice atmosphere, reasonable prices. I'm told it's pretty authentic.
Service has really declined as of late from what I presume is the manager or owner. The servers who come out to bring naan and water are fantastic but overworked. This restaurant is the only game in town and they know it.
Ordered 6 pieces of naan, two were hidden underneath and burned. Asked for exchange one which is worst and couldn’t be eaten. The waiter said “yes” but didn’t even bring it back and said the kitchen thought it was not burned.
Amazing Food and large variety to choose from in the lunch buffet. A must visit during the weekend! Usually a bit crowded around lunch but really worth every penny you spend. Delicious Indian food with affordable pricing around the region between Cincinnati, Louisville and Indianapolis. The only drawback: Service, for some reason there is unpleasant service every time I go in. I am generous tipper even if the waiter is a little rude to me. The management should look at improving the service, in a competition oriented world, good service will add extra points to any business.
Only indian restaurant in a 30-mile radius. The food is okay, but not quite as good as what I get in Seattle or Chicago. The buffet food choices are decent.
Buffet and food was ok. I have definitely had better. The service was definitely lacking. It took some time to get seated and get a waiter's attention.
Just another Indian place... The food is so so. They do a decent job of covering the Punjabi cuisine, but fall flat on pretty much every south Indian dish.
This is the only Indian restaurant in Columbus in area. So we have good option for Indian food. Taste is ok.
The buffet was good ,the curry’s are tasty and flavour,I will back again ...
Slowly losing touch on quality and taste. Still the only place in town to get indian spicy food.
Hakka Chicken Noodles has no salt. Chicken pepper masala is salty. Chili chicken is delicious. Chicken biryani is tasty. Butter naan is good. Papad is made with reused oil so its smelling horrible. Need to stop immediately serving it as complimentary dish. Informed the supervisor but he is helpless as owner does not take action even after knowing this feedback it seems. Service is good and can improve.
I like chole batura and chilli paneer
Incredibly rude staff, mediocre, lukewarm food (Although flavor was ok), saw 2 cockroaches while there (one crawled down the wall to our table while eating & when brought to the head staff’s attention they offered no apologies or excuses-literally said nothing), LOADED fly paper ribbon hanging from ceiling just inside kitchen door that is usually not visible to the public. Won’t be back.
Poor quality
Really good food and variety of options to choose from. Staff is really friendly and helpful.
Decent Indian food! Believe me, butter chicken curry is the best for most non-indian people. The server will frequently check whether you are doing well, but maybe a little bit too often... we asked for more crispy biscuits, but they never came.
Full marks for the food. everything tastes great! They can improve on the service quite a bit.
Lunch buffet has good variety
Service is always prompt. However this time the food was old. The Tandoori chicken was great but everything else was not. The flavors were lacking. Next time I'll drive the hour to Indianapolis for Indian food in Broadripple or the west side.
As indian as it can be... too good vegetarian biriyani
worst place in the world, saw a cockroach on the buffet once.
Lunch - Buffet that was served was really good. Be aware that it's spicy. Mind the times they're open with lunch. They shut down 15 minutes before close.
Probably they providebetter Indian food than other neighbouring Indian restaurants
Delicious lunch buffet with lots of vegetarian options. The lunch buffet comes with delicious fresh made warm garlic naan.
Delicious Indian food! By far the best Indian food int this country, from my experience.
Great food even without onion and garlic. Good options for Jain and swaminarayan people. Great customer service compared to other Indian restaurants!
The food here has always been good. And so many original dishes to pick from.
Over price , the food is not good and staff is very rude.
This is the only Indian restaurant in Columbus IN area. They try to have an extensive menu. However, there is no point in having too many options if they are not good. The buffet was not good. Options in a la carte are hit and miss. The taste and quality of food have to be priority rather than the options. Overall, there is a wide scope for improvement either self driven or driven by availability of number of competing Indian places. (Note: Only plus side is servers are helpful)
Decided to try something a little different today .My wife and I like Indian food occasionally, and came upon this joint by coincidence . All in all it was good .The food wasn't as favorable as other places serve been to . But it was good .It was our first experience here but liked it ,and we'll visit again .
I have high expectations for Indian food and Apna Kitchen met these expectations. The buffet has excellent choices and the price is reasonable. I recommend Apna when you want to eat well and be fully satisfied with your meal!
Being an Indian, this place is my savior for some cravings back home
Amazing selection of food. Unbelievably good - better than our favorite Indian restaurant in Chicago. Nice atmosphere. Will be going regularly!
Staff and environment is good, facility is clean enough. But the food is not quite close to actual Indian delicacy. If you are in Columbus, IN and want to try Indian spices, you will come here only because there is no other option in the town. But if you want your Indian food experience to be closer to the real Indian food, you might want to drive a few miles looking for other options.
The Garam Masala Dosai is excellent (and can serve as a meal by itself). My daughter (14) loves the Butter Chicken. The servers were attentive and cups always full.
Amazing food, very friendly staff and incredible prices. The. Food. Is. Amazing.
Really nice service, delicious food and they have a lot of vegan and vegetarian options which was great since I am a vegan.
Buffet on weekend lunch.
First time ever eating indian food so it was an explosion of flavor for me. I ordered lamb curry which easily feeds two. Finished it off with some masala tea. . . Perfection. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Really authentic flavors and we'll developed buffet dishes. This is NOT the typical canned Indian Buffet, and the catering to vegetarian in equal to meat dishes is appreciated. Really good and large selections at lunch.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Columbus. The food is outstanding, and the service is good. Even if you're unsure about Indian food, give it a try!
Goat Biryani was poor, $14.95 and more bone / sinew than meat, plus waaay too much rice vs meat. Wouldn’t go back
Always love the buffet! The dosa is delicious!
Worst Indian food I have had in the US. The quality of food and service has significantly gone down in last one year. I would prefer driving to Greenwood, Indy or Cincinnati than having food here. I do not expect any improvements since the owners looked very ignorant about food quality after I had a conversation. Do not recommend at all.
The food was delicious. Good ambience. But the restaurant guys has to take good care of the customers. Sometimes it takes a long time for the food to arrive. At last, enjoyed the food.
Food is good. Quantity is better
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE Came at 2:50pm and they said they are closed Open sign was ON and the time on the door says they close at 3:00pm even the buffet food was still there and I was ready to get it to go and walk out before 3:00pm. I do not recommend this place to anyone, clearly they don't care about customers. I can imagine what's happening behind the counter and in the kitchen where no customer can see.
Average food, but good ambience. Staff could be much friendlier.
Amazing. Absolutely phenomenal.
Nice, tasty food. Elaborate veg and non veg menu on buffet. Value for money. Clean place.
Went here in the evening around 7:00 PM as part of a group of four. Almost couldn't find it, and the parking was at least partially in an alley and empty. But appearances are deceiving, because this was the best Indian restaurant I've ever been to. The menu includes options from North Indian, South Indian, and Indo-Chinese regions. They are all clearly labelled and well-described. The alcohol selection, though small, is very nicely priced. I ordered the kadai paneer. It was excellent, and the portion was huge. I had leftovers for probably another meal or two. My family also loved their food. We tried the mulligatawny soup, and it was surprising in both its flavor profile and texture. I loved it. The wait staff seemed to rotate, as we ended up having three or four different people taking care of us throughout our meal. However, they always were on point and never mixed anything up. As time went on, the restaurant filled to capacity, and almost everyone there was Indian. Wonderful restaurant. Would definitely be a regular there if I lived anywhere near it.
So effing good. Only drawback is that it all tastes so gd good that I slam all the food in my face and leave feeling like I just ate Thanksgiving dinner twice.
Great food, Good service.
Wanted a nice lunch with my daughter, was a comfortable walk to this very well-run and maintained Indian buffet. Good selection, yummy tastes and a great choice for a Saturday lunch.
