Its a decent nice place but should hav more teen adult fun non expensive stores
Tasty. Quick. Convenient. Great location.
Really loved the speed for great food but I do dislike the drink options not much natural anything to accommodate the nice buns they offer so the flavor is everything and doesn't strike anywhere special except for the curry bun which is out of this world.
All wow bao are great!
Dumplings are really good!
Lovely food !
So good. And fast
Food was good. Had the pao chicken. That's always good. Service was fast. In and out. Took a table outside of Macy's and enjoyed my food.
Great place but buns aren't cheap
Extremely tasty. Small portions and expensive.
Decent, quick, don't get ice tea it has so much cram in it unless u like cream in your ice tea. Go for a quick craving
Poor quality servers need to improve and be more organized. They just don't care...
Looooove breakfast sausage bao
For the pricing the portions are ridiculous small
Bao are my love.
BBQ PORK & THAI CURRY CHICKEN. EXCELLENT
Very very nice .goood
This is a stable for me everytime I visit Water Tower. It's simple and delicious food that is perfect to grab and go while you shop! The bowls and the Boa's are yummy--kung pao is my favorite.
Great fast food Chinese!
Nice there.
Food isn't really good
In the past, this food stand has been very good. But tonight, the food was stale and they only had two types of baos when their menu offers 7-8. The service was grouchy too.
Love the dumplings
Not necessarily super traditional, but tasty and enjoyably and quick to boot.
Made something of a regular stop of this nice little bao shop. Tasty bao with good prices and pretty quick staff. Great location!
My usual summer visits always include wow bows I'm Chicago. Wish they had one more veg variety of baos.
Very good place
Wow! The baos here taste really good, which is surprising because it's not easy to make traditional chinese steamed buns well. Chinatown has some, of course, but to find them in the city, right at Water Tower place, is a pleasant surprise. I personally love all their baos with meat in them. Eat them while it's piping hot to really enjoy the tenderness of the bun, coupled with the steaming hot meat inside. It makes for a great snack to energize you before hitting the shops. On a cold winter's day, this is the perfect warm-me-up food.
No the best option for wow bao given the limited space and capabilities but it's a fine kiosk in a pinch. The dumplings will be floppy (not crispy due to steaming) but bao and bowls are usual quality.
It's was okay! Not very good for vegetarian option.
This Wow Bao location is my favorite, simply because they have the best froyo. Its subtly tart and not too creamy- just the way I like it. Also, like all other Wow Bao, this one also have the self-served kiosks as well as full-serve. It can get crowded, due to it's prime location in the lobby of the water tower place, but you always get speedy service, and you can most-likely find a spot to eat one floor above. Also, the food is delicious (Try the dessert bao!), and if you check-in on social media, you'll get some sort of discount. And if you pay attention on Wednesdays, they post a secret word on facebook which will grant you free baos!
Food ok. For me once is enough. Pricey also
If youbwant fast Asian food Wow Bao is the place to go. They have great steamed Asian dumplings with great flavours. Use the self serve kiosk for fastest service. It was very easy to use and explained the menu very well without having to interact and be put under pressure of somebody in line behind you. Get you order and find a spot to enjoy the Watertowe entrance water feature and people watch. Very busy spot.
Super expensive. 12 dollars for a little bowl of rice with salty and mushi Thai chicken plus an ice tea Thai style. Not worth it
I wish the food was cheaper for the amount being served.
A little bit too fast foody way of enjoying WowBao - not even a good place to sit down and eat (have to go to upper levels).
Good food
I could go on writing about how their baos and soft, steamy, flavorful, they have vegetarian options as well and I really like their herb bone broth to complement the baos. But I have been eating here for a few years now and this review is long overdue. They don't have the full menu as it's a smaller location but they have everything I need.
Was not crazy for it, every thing looked better in photo
Every time i come to Chicago i stop here for a bbq bun. Awesome snack! Why don't you open in Minnesota?!!
Ordered the soup dumplings, I wasn't expecting them to be the greatest but they were pretty terrible. The girl was to rough and broke all 4 of them so there was no soup in them.
Missing the pomegranate syrup with the froyo.
Inexpensive Asian American cuisine in Water Tower Place with options for vegetarians and meat lovers. Long lines during lunch hour do go early or late for fastest service.

Got sick from the noodle salad or the chicken bao, not sure which. It was tasty going in though
Small portions, overpriced fast food, no seating (the upstairs seating is a joke, there are no tables so you will be holding food in your lap). Thai curry bowl contains exactly zero thai curry. Employee told us a bao is the size of your fist. Or a tennis ball. Maybe half of a smashed tennis ball or a toddler's fist. Now I'm headed elsewhere to buy another meal so i feel like I've eaten something.
I like wowbao. Its something i had not tried till this year. I always thought the bao's seemed little and maybe pricey until i visited. Now i realize that they are an excellent deal. That little bao really fills you up. The teriyaki chicken is my favorite. This location was average amongst the various chicago locations, the service is average, but the baos or the best part
It's ok. Who makes bao this small anymore? I would love to come here more during work if these were larger. Not really worth the price in my opinion.
No pork belly or Sriracha chicken at this location when I went. However it was still fabulous. Curry chicken was great.
I got 4 different items, and not a single one was good. The bowl was bland and tasted like it came out of a microwave. The "homemade" ginger ale was completely flat and nasty. The bao were fairly flavorless as well and had a terrible texture. WouldntW recommend this place to anyone.
Food was good but the cashier was very rude
I got the bbq dumplings and a orange chicken bowl. The dumplings were pretty good! The orange chicken didn’t taste like orange chicken :/ had an off taste. Going with the noodles next time!
퇴근시간이긴하지만 상당히 음식이 나오는게 느립니다
Fast, delicious, easy. If the line is long, still take time to wait. Worth it, and it will go quick.
Excelente... Bao... nota 10 o chicken teriaki. O de porco não curti. 2 usd cada... saudável e bom. Auto atendimento ... top
Not my thing
Decent but overpriced "bao" and simple Chinese dishes. Pro: seating available. Con: inconvenient to bring the food upstair to the seating area.
Tatti
Good fast food and friendly service. A little messy.
Very nice service. A bowl and a bao makes a very filling lunch. Spice kung pao chicken was at the top of my personal heat range, but still good.
Teriyaki and Spicy Mongolian
Love wowboa. The bao are all very good, the ordering on computers system works well. Wish it was just a bit cheaper and there was more seating.
Two things you must have at least once here, the teriyaki bao, and the chocolate one. It's such a simple concept, but these can easily become addictive, especially since they come in such a compact form. This is one of the most convenient locations too, because it's right by the front entrance so you can quickly get in and out without dealing with tons of tourists.
Coconut Bao , Chocolate Bao, Veg Bao were really good..
No dining space. But good standard of food.
Delicious. Fast.
Bad, costly food. Messed with my stomach as well. Soggy dumplings, flavorless noodles. Don't go
Awesome
Pork wow bao, and chiken is the best!!
Wow Bao recently catered an event for me and I really enjoyed working with their catering team. They were very helpful and quick to respond to questions. Overall I think the food is convenient and tasty. The offer side options like a noodle salad and potstickers but I would stick with the baos which are very filling and flavorful. My favorite bao is the BBQ beef but I also like the grilled veggie one.
More rice than the meat. It's like the rice just flavored with orange chicken. Not happy!
Terrible, I visited a couple days ago, The dumplings were dry , they looked freshly thawed. Soy sauce dripping through the box. ugh terrible. Will be visiting the lake st location only . They have juicy seared and plump dumplings
What a taste! The bao is good, I had one chocolate and one spicy kung pao chicken, they're tasty, but none can beat up my joy the moment I sip the herb broth. Man, that was a few minutes of deliciousness !!
Excellent food. Unique to me. Don't plan to dine in upstairs as there isn't much room.
Food was just ok, nothing special
Many locations available in the city.
Wish there were more shoe stores.
Food is good but the service sucks and lousy in this location
It's more like alright bao. I don't recall saying wow upon eating it.
So cute! The food is great and there's a lot of options, but it is pretty overpriced for four Bao. Great warm little walking treat though!
Overhyped, fast-food at its finest. Don't expect real quality foods.

I have only had the thai herb broth, but it is addictive! I have food allergies, so I called ahead and asked what I could eat. They were very helpful finding something safe for me. When I was there to order, I asked again just because I have had accidents in the past. They were very pleasant and accommodating. The soup itself was AWESOME! It tasted like lemon grass and ginger heaven. It's a very quick meal and the service was great. I will be going back.:)
Love Wow Bao. Many years ago this was my first introduction to the brand. Small store which is more like, a pop up. The staff is nice, but slow. The price for a bun is high, but I think right. I highly recommend the Spicy Mongolian Beef and the BBQ Pork. They are so delish!
Ничего особенного! За эти деньги можно было бы поесть в кафешках на фудкорте этажом выше в шоппинг центре Water Tower. Еда не вкксная или сильно острая. Персонал не очень приветливый.
A shame they don't have more veggie Bao. It's ok, but nothing to write home about. However the noodle salad is really tasty. Good for a quick bite.
Having visited the Golden Coast staffless branch, I enjoyed the flavours so much that decided to try more. This branch at Water Towers was disappointing. Us it had staff and accept cash, the lunch menu was very disappointing and tasteless. Not recommend here.
Love wow bao! Straight forward steamed buns and dumplings. Fun treat, light meal.
Super easy and delicious. Came here for some dinner to take back to the hotel after shopping at Water Tower Place. The cashier was super helpful, and I ordered a teriyaki chicken bao, BBQ pork bao, and chicken dumplings (which came with a soy dipping sauce). All were flavorful and moist, similar to what you'd get in most good Asian restaurants. It made for a small but filling dinner. I would totally go back to try other flavors.
It's quick and super tasty. Become a member of Lettuce Entertain you for great savings.
Best place ever never been to any other place like this better nothing else to say after eating it I was speechless
They're ok
Nice place!
Great tasting Bao but expensive. They should have a veggie Bao. Busy location with no place to sit.
I love this place. I used to come all the time and try the different Baos. My favorite is definitely the chicken curry, and the limited edition dessert ones like apple pie and pumpkin. Very quick service and the line moves fast. Also order on their touchscreen displays to skip the wait.
I received lots of attitude from the server, she got in my face and said “DID YOU GET ORANGE CHICKEN OR TERYAKI” I got my food and left. I am never eating there again.
The baos are fantastic!
Great place to grab a quick snack after shopping. It's good stuff, but I'm a big guy and for me to get filled up I need more than half a dozen. My favorites are the beef, pork, and chicken kungpao, in that order. I haven't tried their rice bowls, but for something like that I'd rather eat at Panda Express.
This is okay for a quick bite... China Town will be much better for a real authentic bao and dim.sum.
(Translated by Google) 1h before closing there was no longer the principal: soups, bowls. Very disappointing. (Original) 1h avant la fermeture il n y avait plus le principal : soupes, bowls. Tres décevant.
Everytime I come to Michigan Ave I always try to stop here to get a pack to chow on while I shop. Today's service is less than exceptional, the cashier that helped us had no personality, didnt seem too eager to help, ready to go. We wanted a more than a six pack teriyaki but she was quick to tell us she only has 6 ready to go....did she not want to make us more? Food A+ service F.
It is not by choice that I find myself in Chicago in February. But since I am here, what better way to dive in than hit up Wow Bao?! Ordered their combo 2 buns and broth. Loved their bbq pork bun but not so much the kung pao bun. Not a fan of peanuts in buns. Otherwise, it was great. Hot broth in a coffee cup and a warm steamed bun in the freezing Chicago winter, suddenly the cold weather isn't so cold anymore.
Baozi and Kong Pao Chicken are good!
Sometimes their service is a little poor and disorganized but I'm always satisfied with their Baos. Very delicious
Was an okay place to eat a quick bite of Asian food. The baos in bbq are my favorite by far, along with the fresh lemonade. Downside is that there is no close seating available.
Delicious, doughy little boas are exactly what you get from Wow Boa. Located in the mall foyer, this is a popular lunch spot and an good option if you're on the move and need something you can eat in your hands. If you're on FourSquare, these guys rock with a buy one, get one free perk. Two tasty boas for $1.87 - awesome. The desert boas are too sweet for me but the Mongolian Beef and the Green Thai Curry normally hit the spot.
LOVE wow bao! This is a frquent stop for me. This location is in the lobby of the watertower place and very easy to get to on a crowded michigan avenue. What's even better is they have kiosks you can order from (if you're paying my credit card), and you can avoid the line. You'll be in and out in a few minutes, with a meal you can eat as you walk! perfect!
Horrible service, we bought 16 basis and still won't give extra ginger soy sauce.
Fresh food on the spot! Good portions too.
Great, busy place!
My go to lunch spot when I am near Water Tower. I like the selection and quality. I suggest ordering one of each: Teriyaki Chicken, Spicy Kung Pao Chicken, Whole Wheat Vegetable, Thai Curry Chicken, Spicy Mongolian Beef, BBQ Pork. Save some room for the sweet bao: Coconut Custard Chocolate
OMG over priced over priced over priced over priced over priced over priced I had the water BBQ ribs and Alfredo sauce pasta 9.79 per pound are you serious $28. And some change I will not never ever ever ever go there again
super delicious I went on a trip to Chicago and just had to try! It was super fresh and yummy. The outside was clean, smooth, soft, fluffy, and above all chewy and yummy! I suggest trying the bbq burkshire, spicy Kung pao, and the teriyaki because those were the best!!! 10/10 highly recommend and I give this place a huge 5 star for amazing bao's
Food is ok. The staff attitude is horrible. The cashier turned her back into me and ask “what do you want” while she is cleaning the floor. The back guy who prepared the food he just through the food out without even saying a word.
Tasty food

Great food!
Yuck!!!
i love wow bao's dumpling and pork bao. this branch doesn't have their own seating though. it's just for take away. If you're really hungry, you can sit beside sunglass hut, there's a waiting area there where you can eat.
You should at least try these once.
Great taste but its been comin out since yesterday
Garbage,
Hot mess! No food ready after 20 minutes! Return took another 10. Got my money and left
I love the coconut, edamame and chocolate baos! The kiosks are super easy to use.

Quick...inexpensive...loved the cauliflower option instead of rice.
This is one of their most fun locations, because I always get to come in and see the staff having a great time, and the effect rubs off on you and puts you in a good mood. Located at the entrance of The Water Tower Mall, it's a very convenient location and great customer service and the fantastic food selection that we all know and love.
Bum where yummy!
The dumplings were a disaster
I love me some hot Asian buns! Can not get enough of them at times. Some of my favorites there include the BBQ Pork Bun, Spicy Kung Pao Chicken Bun & the Pot Stickers. They also have cool seasonal dessert buns! Nothing better than SWEET ASIAN BUNS!! One of my favorites is the Pumpkin Bun.
Credit card was charged $4 more than what we paid at the kiosk. Service staff was rude when I asked them to fill up our lemonade (it was only 3/4 full) and they looked at each other and laughed and told me to add ice to it. We got the Thai Curry and Teriyaki Chicken bowls with dumpings and 2 bao added on as a combo. The portion was small (that's fine), but it was mushy and did not taste fresh. No seating for the restaurant, you will have to go upstairs. Very disappointing all around.
Really good. Can be a bit of a wait, but worth it! I recommend the teriyaki chicken, I always get it when I'm around Water Tower.
Okay Asian fast food if you're hungry not my first choice
Great place to grab a quick snack, my favorite is the thai curry chicken. They also have bowls using the meat filling for the baos and I like that they have the option to use cabbage instead of rice for the bowl.
Soo tasty. Just wish they would make red bean paste buns. Super easy and they have steamers already !!!
Had the teriyaki Bao, was very good.
I discovered Wow Bao during my visit in Chicago and kept going back for more. Loved the spicy baos!
They have incredibly fast service and very good teriyaki rice bowls
Love this place for baos. They are so fluffy and soft, yum. My favorites are the edamame and BBQ. Thei salad is great too.
I’d punch a grandma for some wow nap right now....I moved to kcmo so I’m desperate
A surprisingly delicious and affordable treat on the "Magnificent Mile," Wow Bao is located in the old Marshall Field's mall, Water Tower Place, and is our favorite reason to visit the area. Quick, very high quality, great value, and amazing service.
It does what it promises—quick service and not-bad bao!
