Love the food and service
Best, authentic Korean BBQ in the city!
Delicious, just make sure it's a large group so you can all contribute. A little pricey but worth it
Staff is always extremely nice and the food is delicious.
Really delicious. Charcoal
Came here many times, always satisfied
A little bit pricier than some of the other comparable korean restaurants, but the taste and the quality is well worth it. Not too salty, nor bland. Service is top notch and parking in the back for extra convenience! Definitely will be back when craving good soup
So good, and so friendly! Even though their kitchen was technically closed, we called in and they let us come over to have our first coal cooked KBBQ after being turned away from Cho Sun Ok. Highly reccommended!!!
Wow. This is the best Korean restaurant I've ever been to and I have been to a lot. They are the only ones to use real charcoal to bbq. Fantastic marinades. Amazing side dishes and you must try the cold noodle to end your meal. Salut Woochun!
great food and meat
Recommend the bi bim bop
Wonderful food, pleasant service and a relaxing atmosphere. Will be back with friends.
A hidden, underrated Korean "Diamond in the rough" restaurant. I had an opportunity to try this delightful Korean Restaurant and I was impressed. I had tried so many Korean restaurants when Koreans used to live in Chicago back in the 1980's and 1990's and this was in quiet, quaint and underrated. The staff was very amiable and not rude like most Korean restaurants in Chicago and some Suburbs. I will not name them. Anyways, their "Bulgogi" is phenomenally delicious and fresh. We also did Korean Barbecue and it was just as wonderfully tasty. Next to Soon Tofu Soup we had and the "Hae Mool Pa Jeon "or Seafood Pancake as appetizers. The ingredients we're fresh and not too sweet or not to salty (or loaded with any MSG). The food was savory which IMO was excellent. We also did the Korean Barbecue but if you do that you have to order 2 entrees since the servers cook it in front of you over a stove with charcoal range. Almost similar to Japanese Hibachi or tippenyaki but not on a griddle with no knife show. Just quaint cooking. Also as usual in Korean hospitality in Restaurants they give you several varieties of Kim Chi. I liked the broccoli Kimchi which was seasoned in a flavorful fermented sauce as well as the egg plant kimchi which was tasty too they offer. I give 5 stars because of the quality but beware of prices or cost as this is not your average tab. I would come back here for special occasions. Not your typical Staple Korean cuisine restaurant that one can afford to treat a date but one to try well you are in the mood for the best or something special.
I always bring my friends from other cities to this place if they want something different. This place has never let me down. The side dishes are plenty and fresh. The meat is always good quality and nicely flavored. Only thing is that the service was kinda lacking. Those ladies work there don't really pay attention to customers. Anyway, I still will to this place for korean BBQ.
Great food and very helpful staff. It was
Expensive
Great customer service and food
Food was okay but it was too smoky to sit and enjoy the meal
Good place, good food, good service; however, small portion relative to price.
Over price not well spiced just average
self cooking experiences in a new ways and fun with nice tests .
Amazing food awesome service we loved it. Will go again.
Great short ribs. The bon Chon was some of the best I've ever had. You can tell they make it in house.
Great service, great food but small portion..
Prompt service, tremendous authentic Korean Food and very pleasant staff! Highly recommend it!
So awesome.
Good and authentic... with good service and well maintained...restaurant but also a bit pricier than the avg. Korean place...would return but definitely not a place to make it a go-to spot more like a special occasion feel like spending more money for Korean food kind of place.
Delicious, wonderful service but pricey
Amazing BBQ and great service. This was our last stop before leaving Chicago and was so glad we stopped by. Traditional korean bbq with in-table grill and overhead vent. The menu is limited and the price is in the 20-30 for individuals, which was a bit much for my liking. However the food and quality were great. We had korean pancake as appetizer and by far the best I've ever had because it was not extremely oily! We had beef/pork tongue and marinaded beef for our entree. It came with a lot side dishes which the waitress kept refilling for us. While cooking/cutting our meat for us (which is part of the traditional korean bbq service) she kept on chatting with us which made the atmosphere very pleasing. There is a korean grocery store next door which we stocked up on snacks/drinks for our long road trip home.
Was in Chicago for only one day and my go-to Korean BBQ place is closed on Tuesday, so we thought I would give this place a try. It is a little quant place with cute decor. We were the only ones there when we arrived, as it was early for dinner. We ordered 2 orders of the GalBi and an order of the Spicy Rice Cake. The GalBi was very tender and flavorful, and highly recommended. My guest said the Spicy Rice Cake was very authentic, I thought it was pretty good; with egg, cabbage, and few other ingredients. All of the side dishes you get when ordering the BBQ we're also very good, with a nice variety. I do wish they had a little bit more of a selection of meats, possibly squid or shrimp. The waitress was very polite and helpful, but maybe a little too helpful. She continued to help us cook the meat on the grill, but at a much faster pace than what we were wanting to eat at. We like to take our time and enjoy the food and the experience, it just felt like she was rushing us.
So helpful and nice when it came down to the BBQing . Will definitely be going back for another round with friends
Great, quick food- filling.
Just had dinner here . One of the best Korean restaurants I've ever been at , and I eat at a lot of places . The food was so good! I'll be coming back here for sure !
Really good Unmarinated Kalbi and Marinated Kalbi. Marinated Kalbi gets burnt easily though. Comes with awesome many refillable side dishes. Also comes with rice and soup which is delicious. Price is around $70 total for two.
The BBQ beef is awesome, and the service is great! We'll probably will go back again :) such a peaceful spot to hangout and have lunch with friends or family!
쉐프님의 솜씨는 정말
Ordered food for pick up, everything was good
It is a bit pricey and the service is not the best, but the quality of the meat makes this place special. Come here if you want to stuff your face :)
Great place to go.
One of the best Korean BBQ restaurants that I've found in Chicago. Everything is of high quality, especially the meat (and the Kalbi is my favorite). I think they have the best Kim chi, too. And the service is friendly and excellent!
Wow. Great food. Been to many Korean restaurants and this is on par with the best of them. Service was above and beyond. The server/host was amazing. Embarrassingly left my credit card in the receipt book and she chased me down in the parking lot. I don't know what to call that but genuine service!
A preferred site for korean food. Honestly my favorite evening place. The service was very kind and attentive. This place has a cool atmosphere. Menu is like a place in San Francisco I loved.
What a fun experience! Come hungry because it is a lot of food. I recommend going with a group of friends and sharing all sorts of meats. They come with pickled vegetables in small plates that are delicious. The vegetable pancake is really good, but I wasn't a big fan of the soups. if you are into trying a new drink, a shot of their peach liquor was very tasty. A great place for a large group of people!!
Good food good service very professional and palate
Delicious food and excellent service, you really can't go wrong with Woo Chon if you're looking to enjoy some Korean BBQ!
So this is a legit, if your first date brings you here feel privallaged that your dating someone you has navigated the underground food scene. This place doesn't even have an advertisement sign in English. Also really good Korean food
One of my top places for korean food. Visited Sat afternoon. The service was very welcoming and sociable.
One of the top Korean restaurants in the Chicago area. Amazing pajeon that comes before your order. Get the yukgaejang which is like a spicy beef stew.
The food was really, really good. Usually I'm not one to pay to much attention to the side dishes served with Kbbq, but I legitimately enjoyed all of them. There are fewer side dishes than at some other places (i.e. picked daikon radish and the fish tofu strips) but what was there was very tasty. The meat itself was definitely the star of the show - expertly sliced and marinated. The server was also very friendly and willing to help us grill the meat with tongs and a set of commercial strength sheers in true Korean form. Two other things of note: 1. This place also does a lot traditional Kbbq with red-hot charcoals in an earthenware pot, this definitely imparts a less-than-healthy but deliciously smokey flavor to the meat 2. The fume hood is freaking legit. We could see every last but of smoke coming from the grill going straight up into it. I wore a shirt I liked less than some of my others because I knew we were doing Kbbq and often I told leave the restaurant reeking of the smell. Not so at Woo Chon! It did seem pricey to me, but to be fair it has been a while since I've been to Kbbq in this part of town do maybe I'm just out of the loop. I have been to cheaper Kbbq places, but they also weren't as good. To give a frame of reference, we got an order of fried Mandu, 2x meats to grill for our table, a large beer, and 2x Dolsot Bibimbap. They were happy to top off side dishes and we left full and satisfied - after tax and tip we ended up a bit north of $140 between the 4 of us. If I was with some more aggressive carnivores I think we easily could've hit past the mid-$200 range.
Love this place.. They help cooking meat and so many side dishes. All of them are good.
Good food, cozy place
Very good and friendly service but extremely overpriced and small portions. 23 dollars for 5 pieces of pork bellies. Not worth it if you're hungry.
Came for late lunch, Awesome food and great service, will be back!
Great customer service and great food. Ok, im new to Korean BBQ but my server was very helpful guiding me towards something fun and yummy and answering all my questions- and there were a lot of questions... A must go when Im in Chicago!
Very enjoyable place, tasty food and friendly service at this restaurant every times.
Food is good and the service is good !! It's my best girl "friend" favorite restaurant. We had very good memory here although she has left from me. I really miss her.
We like the taste and the style of serving but little bit quick service, we feel hurry. Vegetables in Side dishes are perfect. Lettuce can be used as a taco wrap you need to order, we forget to order
Fantastic place for Korean BBQ. Very attentive service and delicious food. We had the beef tongue, galbi, and pork belly, all which were cooked on the charcoal grill by an extremely nice waitress. The best part was the sheer variety of banchan (Korean side dishes) and other sides. We got rice, bone broth soup, and many banchan refills. Left very satisfied and full. Thanks Woo Chon! I will come back next time I'm in the Chicago area!
To make a long story short, this is one of the neighborhood's best guarded secrets. Place has been around for decades (interior shows it's age) but quality is still their priority. We love this place for their very friendly staff, reasonable pricing and food that is second to none. Pot stickers, seafood pancakes and Chop Chae are great appetizer choices. Traditional BBQ is spectacular, and if you want to get something on the lighter side, go with their Bimbimbob del sot or some of their stews and soups.
Service is amazing here! I loved everything from the fresh, amazing food to the overall vibe. Theres a real "homey" feel.
Was in Chicago for only one day and my go-to Korean BBQ place is closed on Tuesday, so we thought I would give this place a try. It is a little quant place with cute decor. Small in size with not too much seating and the decor is not so fancy, but the food is good and tasty, although they add too much sugar to certain dishes that adds an interesting taste. A little pricier than what you may expect.
The food was delicious but the environment was kind of tense. Even though the restaurant was empty and we had time, we felt rushed as our cook cooked everything in front of us rather quickly and put it in our plates. We basically had a date with her.
Interactive food at its greatest. Grill in the table sigh charcoal they bring once the order is placed. Delicious banchan (Korean side dishes) accompanied by prompt and helpful service. Galbi was the star of the meal.
Clean and good Korean bbq with nice hospitality. I love this plce.
Comfortable place
In a nice little place. Wasn’t too crowded and food was just amazing, especially the meat! Prices were reasonable, nothing too expensive. The restaurant was very clean too and had a decent sized parking. Staff was really friendly and even took a group photo when asked for my who family!! Definitely recommend! Would go again!
Great authentic Korean food. Wide selection and reasonably priced. Closed on Wednesdays.
Excellent!
Little bit expensive but tastes good
(Translated by Google) Personally, it was the best Korean BBQ restaurant in the US, not Chicago. Staff service is also very kind, ribs and kimchi nabe are so delicious. Highly recommended !!!
But I still love it. They changed on the barbecue order you need to at least 2, this was my favorite but due to this nonsense change, m going to find something else considering they are already not cheap.
Good place for dinner
Amazing and authentic. My Korean wife and in-laws loved it.
My top spot for quality Korean food. I had a cousin come into town and she asked me to go back here. Prices that won't shock you.
Came here the first time I set foot on Chicago in 2010. Best Korean bbq in the city hands down. I moved to Chicago in 2014 and have been trying to find this place. I was coming home from king spa the other day and freaked out when I passed. I cannot wait to go back to this place. My brother took me here and his culinary taste surpasses anyone's I know. My second favorite place is on Buford highway in Georgia. Nothing touches these places.
Last time I came to this place was for my birthday, and it was worth it. The price is kind of high, but I didn't mind paying a bit more for good quality food. Their service was amazing, so coming back to this place is always an option when I am close by the area, since i love very far. I can say all of this because I've tried other Korean restaurants before, and this one is the only one that I always come back to.
Excellent food. Great dynamic menu with plenty of options. Try it out guys very kind staff who were happy to help out
친절하고 숯불갈비가 맛있어요!!
Had a great lunch. Staff were friendly and helpful. Explained options as it was my first visit. Good sized portions with good flavor. Limited seating but not a problem the day I was there.
Very good Korean food
음식도 맛나고 써비스도 좋왔습니다~^^
Very friendly staff
Great korean food! My mom used to go there 20 years ago when I was a kid and was happy that it was still open when she came back to visit last month. The staff there are really nice and the food is really good. Definitely would recommend!
Best Korean Bbq here. Very clean, tasty and the workers are very polite. 5 star
Yay!
Very nice place, my hubby's first kbbq and he loveddddddd it. The server is very nice and attentive. Served with a smile ☺ food was delish
the price of korean bbq here went up pretty high but still tastes the same ok food but very expensive
(Translated by Google) Delicious restaurant was good ... I felt Korea long .. * (Original) 맛있고 좋았어요..한국 오래전 식당 느낌..*
Food was very good!
70 bucks for 2 types of meat, 7 pieces of shrimp and 12 slices of beef, food is ok and service is good, however too expensive. Compare to other Korean bbq restaurants, this is not the place you should go, go somewhere else.
Good food but pricey
Best Korean dishes around this town
very expensive for plain food. not even worth at half price
머리만 조심하면 좋은곳
Exellent palce for eat beef and others....
Stupid high price.
Beautifully cooked BBQ deadass this may be the best meal I’ve had in my life
Love the food and the great service!
Great service, awesome food
Yes
우촌갈비 숫불갈비 맛좋고 일하시는 분들도 친절하시고 먹고나서 기분도 좋습니다..
Food is really good. Servers are really nice, but they were a bit slow. A bit pricey as well.
Nice place, friendly people and very good dishesss
Delicious Korean Bbq
Great Service and food!
One of the last places to serve korean bbq over hot charcoals. Staff are friendly and the BBQ is pretty tasty. Never been disappointed with bbq in several dozen visits.
Best Korean food ever had.
Great service, awesome food. Def go again!
Really nice, simple place popular with local K folks. BBQ over coals brought red hot in an earthen vessel to your table. Lovely staff.
Banchan was very delicious. Their meat was very tasty.
Staff was kind & hospitable, food was great.
Excellent food, attentive and friendly staff, and the BEST Kim Chi and sides in Chicagoland! It's so good they sell it in an adjoining store. You MUST go here for amazing Korean food!!!
Amazing service and delicious food! Will definitely come here again! Pot stickers were perfection! Had the seafood soup and marinated short ribs!
Food good, great service
I often come here, especially like the beef here, very fresh. I like every dish
(Translated by Google) Good food, good service. Lower cost performance (Original) 不错吃 服务好 性价比稍低
Really good and really authentic, but definitely a two dollar sign venue. The space wasn't huge, but it had very tasteful decor.
Saw this place on that Chicago's Best tv show. Despite the small interior this place is WAY better than that place on Western people seem to have mixed reviews about, especially when it comes to service. The food is good, the waitress doesn't have an attitude like that other place, and they DON'T add the tip at the end of the meal. If I were to choose between here and that famous place with the bad service, hands down I'd drive a couple blocks futher and come here and save a couple bucks for I think is better food and service.
The marinated kalbi is amazing. I think it makes all the difference that it is cooked on a charcoal grill in front of you. Staff is very kind and helpful, especially when we wanted to try something outside our usual. Always coming back here, its quiet and clean. Try the raspberry wine, that was tasty, very light.
Just off of Lincoln Ave, this is a cozy little hole in the wall that is a pleasant surprise! They showed us how to do everything and even though it was our first time there, it wasn’t intimidating at all. The food was great! We got the brisket and the marinate short rib and the hot stone bibim bap. There is a soup that you can end with that is a lite pepper broth that was delicious! We def will return!
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. The service is first-rate and the food is perfect. Make sure to hit the Grocery store behind it on Lincoln. It is a great place to get Kimchi, thin-sliced beef and Chicken, kotchujang, and all the little panchan they serve with Korean food.
Pricey but food is excellent
