Enjoyed volunteering at the annual community art fair and were looking for a nice place to sit outdoors and have a relaxing dinner. Just up the street is Wilde, an Irish pub with an excellent menu. After a chilled martini, we enjoyed some fresh fish, accompanied by fresh steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. While we watched the folks passing by from the art fair, we especially liked seeing the families with little children passing by. The apple crumble with ice cream was a great finish, along with some coffee. Summertime in the city doesn't get much better than this.

An absolutely amazing pub with spectacular food, excellent cocktails and a solid craft brew selection. The fixed menu has amazing food on it, but the specials are also incredible. Additionally, if you have food allergies or need substitutions, they are friendly and can accommodate your needs.

I had shepherd pie tonight, it had really little ingredient and it was mostly stuffed with sauce, I informed our server that my pie was lacking proper amount of ingredients, she didnt do anything to remedy the situation, poor experience, 3 stars because I like the atmosphere.

Really great neighborhood pub, very authentically styled decor, has the feel of an upscale restaurant with a library and fireplace, but both food and beer menu is extensive, try the Ultimate Grilled Cheese.

This was the first time my wife and I have been here, and I have to say it was one of if not the best places we've been to. Just down the street from the Laugh Factory if you weren't looking you could walk right past this gem. It had an vintage bar and library look to it and the food is amazing. They serve comfort food with Irish flare. I had the cold water lobster mac and cheese and my wife had half of an ultimate grilled cheese with tomato soup and both tasted amazing. We will be going back when we are in the area for brunch.

Good, not great. Burger was decent. The batter on the fish and chips came right off so a little disappointed on that. Fries and chicken wings also pretty good. Would come back for the onion rings. High note is absolutely the wine flights. Love those.

Great atmosphere! We went there for dinner after seeing them on WGN’s CHICAGO’s BEST. I got the chicken pot pie and my fiancé got the grilled cheese with baked French Onion soup. Both were amazing! Also try the Irish coffee

Great „good-way-busy” family friendly vibe on Saturday afternoon! Nice interior and bar selection. Had red beets salad with nuts. Waitress was very thoughtful about ingredients of their menu options to make sure what I’ll be getting is vegan. Spent great time with a friend there and will be back for sure!

My gluten-free dinner here was fantastic! I ordered a GF reuben from the menu (fries are in a dedicated fryer!) and asked the waitress if my sandwich could be prepared separate to prevent cross-contamination on the grill. She spoke to the chef so my sandwich could be cooked in a skillet instead. My meal was delicious and I didn't get sick afterwards. Also they have Green's gluten-free beer! This is my favorite beer. My husband loved his burger and service was great on a busy weekend.

My wife and I's go-to restaurant. The food is excellent AND they do most of the menu Gluten Free, if that's what you're into. The Oscar Wilde theme adds an air of education to an already respectable establishment. The bar is beautiful and the drink menu, varied and numerous. The staff is always well-mannered and attentive, even when the restaurant is full - which is impressive, given the square footage. Highly recommend you stop by for a pint and a reuben on gf bread with a side of sweet potato fries.

Great small plates as well as larger portions for sharing. Fish tacos were really tasty. Nachos were huge! Decent selection of beers on tap. You can get the traditional Chicago brews too. Service was very fast. Good place to go to get a bite to eat and something to drink before heading to the Arena. (Within walking distance.)

And the prices will make you think that you got a personal, unadvertised discount!! So I just increase the tip proportionately!

We had a great comfort food-filled brunch at Wilde! We started with the Wilde mac n cheese small plate, followed by the spinach artichoke omelette with a side of grits and bangers. Everything was just exquisite! Mac was equally flavorful and creamy, bangers were crispy on the outside, luscious on the inside. My mom said the omelette was the best she ever had, and I'd be inclined to agree. Irish cheddar elevated it. All topped off with a mimosa, it was a beautiful brunch for 2 for around $50 total.

Cozy English library decor focusing on the life of Oscar Wilde invites the guest to relax and enjoy a pint or two. Delicious items on the menu my wife and I have enjoyed include juicy hamburgers, sweet potato fries with maple syrup, deep fried cod with peppered tartar sauce, tender asparagus, and comforting french onion soup. Try the awesome key lime pie from a bakery in Evanston! It does get noisy on weekend nights--arrive early to get a table. Enjoy!

My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place. The atmosphere is a blend of Anglo pub and library, which is possibly the coziest combination you could imagine for dinner. Definitely reccomend the meatloaf. Best enjoyed on a chilly day with a tall pint.

People that like to read love books and love being surrounded by books. So when asked if I wanted to sit in the 'library' section of Wilde, OF COURSE! So ambiance for me was heaven..esp. when I saw several books on the shelves that were on mine. Mother's Day early dinner for four, attentive and friendly service, great food and drinks. While Irish in theme, there is enough variety on the menu for every taste. Will visit again...maybe next time the kids will pay...:-)

Philly cheesteak Sandwhich is all bread, cole slaw, and fries. Get soggy af and in general just tasted liked sadness. It’s a shame because the meat and cheese were actually pretty good. But soaking wet bread and fries is unappealing.

What a waste place. The entire team, specially at front door and at the very back has no coordination. They just know to greet people like robot and nothing else. They wouldn't even notice that somebody is waiting for past 10 mins and have not been helped. Also, the front desk guy with curly hairs and long height has very rough behavior for people of other nationalities and argues with them.

I was so happy to discover this place as I was going through "Lady Gregory's" withdrawal since moving from Andersonville to Lakeview. Apparently it is owned by the same people and the food is essentially the same... ie: amazing. I especially want to give a shout out (do people still do that on the radio?) to our waiter, Zach. It was refreshing to have such a personable waiter who was very attentive (but not too much so... You know, like those ones that ask how your food is after every bite.. I would have told you the first time if it sucked). Definitely going to come back!

I showed up because we couldn't get into Kuma's, but this place didn't disappoint. Two bars, incredible pub decor and a salmon steak served on a bed of mashed potatoes with perfectly cooked asparagus on top (and I usually hate asparagus) and you can't really beat that.

We came with a big party, and the server handled it really well. The Lobster mac and cheese is soo decadent and filling. My friend kept talking about the bacon mac and cheese all night after we left. Drinks were good too. The bourbon old fashion was worth it.

This place is almost always packed, but have been here a few times in the recent past and thankfully didn't have much of wait, when there were just two of us. Service has always been courteous, and generally is timed decently. The elderflower love cocktail has been my go-to for the past few meetings. I haven't had food in a long time, but I would, and it seems that people enjoy it. $15 or so for a cocktail. Worth it, if you want to be surrounded by activity, and want the option of food being available, which on dates (especially early ones) is always a tossup.

I’m new to the area and was recommended this place by a few friends so finally checked it out last Saturday evening. Place was completely packed, but offers lots of seating so not a bad wait. There is a cozy little fireplace and library vibe. I ordered grill cheese with tomato soup and was happy with my selection. My boyfriend got shepherds pie and loved it. We also tried the mussels appetizer, the sauce the mussels were in was so good my boyfriend was literally eating it like soup lol. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Absolutely terrible service. My boyfriend and I came here on a Wednesday for dinner when the place was maybe half full. We were sat for 15 minutes before anyone brought us water, then waited an additional 20 minutes and no server ever showed up. Almost 40 minutes to get 2 glasses of water. I was so excited to try this place but we ended up leaving & going to the bar across the street instead.

I wasn't much for Lady Gregory's, which also owns this place. But Wilde is awesome. Really tasty food, dark lit interior makes it feel like it belongs in the loop; old style book cases and a good bar with some TV's. Packed, but no wait for a two top. Great service. Highly recommend.
