The atmosphere is great. The staff is very friendly. It's fairly quick considering they're making your food fresh in front of you. I love how the place is decorated and all the fresh herds there to season your food with. Tasted fresh as well. It's a calm refreshing atmosphere if you want to get off the street for a little bit. Plenty of seating and no lines. The card system of tracking the purchases is "trendy" and interesting. I wish it was a little cheaper or you got a little more food for what you pay, besides that it's a great overall experience and I will definitely go back.

I've been to the one in the loop before and had a good experience. This location is terrible. I ordered my food and the cook skipped me. I go back 20 minutes later and find out she forgot about my order and served over 10 people after me. When I go up to inquire about my food, she acts indifferent. Good customer service is the foundation to any business and this place is definitely lacking. Definitely not coming back

Food is excellent as expected from any Vapiano. However the service terrible. Even though they were fairly empty, the wait time was extremely high. The staff were not accommodating. They messed up our order multiple times, and when the food was ready, we could see it on the counter, where it still for over 10 minutes. the staff was just standing around. When we went to ask them about it, they took another 5 minutes to deliberate wether or not it was indeed or order, even though we had the token and receipt that matched their ticket.

A good idea in service. You receive a card upon entering. You go to stations like main course or desert and hand over your card . Your choices are brought to your table. You pay off the card upon leaving. really cool. The place is clean and classy. It is gourmet food and a semi gourmet prices.

Had the risotto. Mistake #1. You can't make risotto in 7 minutes. Flavour was decent but dish was not heated so went cold quickly. Ordered side Caesar salad which had too many croutons and not enough authentic Caesar flavour. This place is like a high end McDonald's. Thanks but I won't be coming back.

Staff was excellent, very friendly. They had chargers built in the tables that you just put your phone on, that was pretty cool. Food was meh. For the price I expected WAY better. $17 for a little container of pasta & a fountain drink. My pasta dish was the Pesto Rosso, nothing spectacular. I love Italian food. Can’t go wrong with hearty food once in a while. I do love vapianos because it has the feel of a fast food restaurant but manages to create an authentic style of cooking. You get to experience the Chef’s making the food but not for too long. It’s a quick process and it’s actually fun to see how they make it. This picture represents the dessert I had or to be specific the chocolate mousse. It’s not too sweet and tastesamazing. Very creamy and even though, it looks small - it’s pretty sizable for two people. I hope you get to try it!

This place was great. I didnt know that there were restaurants that did this other than hibachi grills. So this place has a couple lines....pasta, salads, something else I dont remember. Anyways you can choose you own pasta, sauce, ingredient, spices everything and they cook it right in front of you. They also have a pretty cool paying system.....everyone gets a card and you just put it on this screen your order gets added to it and at the end when you're leaving you hand them the card and then pay. Easy and it saves paper!! Tgis place has two levels. We went to the top because this place was uber busy when we went. Nice view of the streets, window tables are available. They also have built in wireless chargers in the tables ready for you to use. Fabulous and convenient since my phone was about to die!!

This restaurant is a fast-casual gem! Super fresh ingredients, handmade pastas, your dish made to order on the spot. Genuinely nice people, from the guy who greets you to the folks making your meal. Reasonably priced, too, especially given its location along the Magnificent Mile!

A surprisingly disappointing experience here. The tomato soup was served cold, in a cold bowl. The bruschetta was tasty but the station attendant was surprised when I ordered it, saying “oh I’m not sure we have bread.”

I've visited this location twice within the past month. The staff always greets you as soon as you hit the door, which is great. I've ordered the Chicken Alfredo which was seasoned just right. Andrew and Alexander were my chefs and they made the mark plus some each time I came here. Easy going atmosphere that's chill and family friendly. A nice alternative and addition to the other restaurants in the area. Oh, and the Black Peach Vanilla tea is bomb, try it. You won't regret choosing this place.

I tried both veggie pasta & pesto pasta with chicken. I like the pesto more. Pesto topped with parmesan, I like the cheese quality. Veggie pasta was cooked with mix white and red sauce which was delicious. However, I didn’t like the risotto because it has a lot of sauce. I which they cooked it better.

Head upstairs to see bartender Cristina! She actually should be the Manager. I asked my boyfriend to meet after being here an hour with a delightful food and wine experience. My boyfriend however, headed downstairs to order, only 2 others placing order. No one would take his order and had trouble understanding English? Because of this he got frustrated, and got no food. Christina the bartender informed a very young supervisor Brittany who blew by and said how is everything? Not I heard you had issues ordering... so I called her out and she could have cared less. Not let me place your order for you, sorry, let me bring your meal upstairs for you. Nothing. So we finished our wine and we will pick up takeout at Star or Siam or Eataly on our way home to Trump. Too bad, we live close by and the bar atmosphere was nice due to Christina. I wonder who Brittany’s manager is. That is who should be aware of her “supervisory” position. 5 stars for Christina, no stars for Brittany the unprofessional supervisor, no stars for the line staff who was to take my boyfriends tomato soup and pumpkin risotto order.

EDIT: service is going to be hit or miss. I come here every Saturday and usually have the same guy that prepares the pasta (he’s awesome), but today had two others I’ve never seen. They were flat out rude and one didn’t use gloves when handling the food. Don’t think I’ll be back to this location, I’ll just walk down to the loop from now on. ————————————————————— Go upstairs, there’s a full bar and waaay more seating. Vapiano is a great go to for a fast meal that you don’t have sacrifice quality for. The ability to make your own dish and get it in <10 mins is pretty awesome. The service here is pretty awesome too. Definitely check it out if you’re in the Streeterville/Mag Mile area.

More than anything else the service and Congeniality of the staff was excellent! The bartender was super helpful and even when there was a delay of not more than a few minutes they comped us some drinks. This was one of our favorite places to eat on our week long Chicago trip. I had saved it to a very long google list of restaurants that had good reviews and we just happened to be close by one night we were hungry. It’s such a cool concept to get a card when you walk in, go to all the stations you want food from (huge selection), and then just pay for what’s on the card at the very end of your dining experience. The atmosphere is really chill, comfortable, and inviting. The only issue I had is that I wasn’t smart enough to work their complimentary phone chargers (lol...ugh!). The food was excellent. My wife and I split a salad and a pasta dish and had plenty to eat. We ate upstairs close to the bar and both had a couple of drinks that were both great. I REALLY wish we had one of these places where we live. We’d eat there weekly, guaranteed.

All of the pasta is homemade, and the sauce is made from scratch after you place your order. The food was good for the price. Their service was not great but not bad. My friends ordered a pizza, got a buzzer for the pizza, and was never alerted that the pizza was finished. Turns out they never put it in, but the quickly remedied it and got their food out shortly afterwards.

A great bistro in the heart of Chicago - I loved the fresh, laid-back atmosphere. The pasta was also delicious. The last time I went here was in 2018 and at the time they had wireless chargers at every table - while at first I was really impressed, unfortunately these did not really work as expected (and also required an app download to even start charging, ugh!). It felt gimmicky. Hopefully they’ve updated their wireless charging stations since then.

Love love love this place! The first time I came here was with my mentor for lunch. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. The air feels lighter and the mood is golden. The dinning experience was unlike any other experience of mine. You get a charge card at the beginning and you can order food at the cooking station. Your card is then charged. You pay on your way out. I ordered the Bolognese with beef and added spinach. Most places that serve Italian food cook the food to "al dente", but I've found that it's too hard for my liking. Here, my pasta was soft and chewy enough. I recommend this place to anyone who wants a fresh dinning experience.

The gentleman who made my food was very nice and social. They are all professional chefs who know what they are doing! They also play great music. Everyone was just super friendly. First time here and the hostess was very helpful in explaining how things worked. It was nice that it wasn't busy (weekday, late-ish dinner), so I didn't feel rushed and could ask questions. Quick, REAL food! I tried to stay on the lighter side with a salad and bruschetta. The ceasar salad seemed like it had too much dressing and parmesan cheese to be considered a light choice, but it sure was delicious! Bruschetta Duo was yummy, and they have olive oil and balsamic on every table if you need an extra drizzle. I did also to try the drink special After Orange and liked it. It was like a orange creamsicle, but not too sweet.

Went for an anniversary party. Lines were so long and not moving. Their set up was awful. No ebb or flow. Needed multiple stations spread out to thin out the crowd and get people feed and seated efficiently. Felt foolish for paying to wait almost an hour for food you usually can pay less for and get quickly. Then the food was extremely salty and under cooked. They were not equipped to handle the crowd they sold tickets to. Tiny pans of pasta for hundreds.

This Vapianos is always struggling to keep up with orders even when they're not busy. The whole idea is supposed to be that you tell your chef what you want and they make it for you on the spot. Over here both times I visited, I was directed to give my order to a different person from the chef that actually made it. Which would be fine except they have horrible communication and each time they got my order wrong and so it took me 45 minutes to get my food after already waiting 20 minutes to initially place my order. I don't know about the other locations, but thisVapianos is not at all up to the standards of others I've visited in London.

The place might be a five star, but I was there for the first time for their anniversary and it was one of the most unorganized event I've seen in a long time. Some people just gave up on getting the food due to extreme crowds - not even lines. Even the food servers were unsure of where the food supposed to be placed. Salad was served without tongs and dressing, people searching for silverware.. it was a chaos!! Food, drinks and dj were good. Hopefully management learned something to improve any future events.

This is a good place to go with a bunch of people and get what you want and pay yourself. You don't have to worry about splitting the check. They make all the pasta, dough for pizza, risotto, etc fresh in house. It's a German chain serving decent, premium mediocre, Italian food!! Better than Olive garden, but not Monteverde!! Very nice selection for Vegetarians. I would recommend the mushrooms pizza, risotto and lasagna. Good for families visiting the Mag Mile shopping district.

I live close by and checked this place recently and have already been here twice in like 3 weeks. It's a pretty cool place to have a casual Meetup with friends. I've tried their pasta and their pizza. Both were good. They have got a big seating area upstairs. This had become like our go to spot if we wanted decent but tasty food, keep low key and just have a good to e with friends and family.

Domo finely crafted my prosciutto pizza and Christina was an expert mixologist who finely crafted a baller basil substituted mojitos. I would give this place 5 stars if it weren't for their abysmal assistant manager. I've never witnessed anyone as condescending and disrespectful of their staff as Brittany. If I were employed here I would be ashamed to admit she were my boss.

Being from Houston i had to try the pasta in Chicago. Simply amazing. Great atmosphere and great service. Recommend to anyone that wants a great meal at reasonable prices.

Spacious and comfortable. Particularly on the sparsely occupied second level. Excellent Italian fare. Elevator available for going up but not for going down!
