Gavin May

A must-see cocktail venue in Chicago and definitely on the list of places to take my friends when they visit Chicago. The drinks can be a bit on the sweet side but they look and taste GREAT.

Shelly Barker

Great place for drinks! Paddy's the best bartender! Super duper cool guy and makes the best martinis! Can't wait to come back :)

Juan Placencia

Delicious drinks. Excellent service. Fun, laid back atmosphere.

Anthony Martha

Great spot for a cocktail and snacks. I have started many nights here. Its location makes for a great meet up spot. Their drinks are awesome, tasty, and the presentation is excellent. Be sure to try a shared cocktail as they are worth it.

Devin Viscomi

One of my favorite bars in the world! Cocktails are insanely great!

Matteo Bertazzoli

Special Hawaiian style bar with truly unique drinks. Nice vibe, although not so much space. Hidden entry but you can easily spot from the line. Recommended

I really wish I could give 4.5 stars. The drinks are fun and the group drinks are actually as amazing as they look in the pictures. The atmosphere is great, especially in a cold winter in Chicago. There are subtle details in the decor and menu that make it obvious a lot of care has been put into the experience. The one thing I don't like is the food. I'd only go for the drinks. It's a little sad that the quality and richness in flavor that the drinks have are not also present in the food, which is a little bland and a little over fried tasting.

This place is very very fun. Little hard to find you got to go in the back alley and that's for the entrances there's not really any signs she has a tiki torch and most of the time a dude / security guard. A little pricey but great for groups great for out-of-towners great if you want to go someplace fun and different they got small bits of food and snacks nothing too big a little dark inside if you order anything that's not really raw more tropical bass you're going to waste your money

Been here on date night with hubby at the Bamboo Room 2 weeks ago. The presentation was great but Disappointed with the cocktails - not boozy at all. Then I tried a rum, which said it was 60%proof, neat but still not potent. Heard similar reviews from couple other friends who have been to this place. The appetizers were good! I have not been in the main bar area, maybe my next visit will be better! But will definitely give another try before losing hope!

I knew it was going to be a strange night when I was greeted by a wall of skulls as I walked through the entryway of this Tiki Bar, which is located off an alley in Chicago's River North. The pictures are dark but so was the bar. We ordered one of the fancy drinks that spewed steam from dry ice as it approached out table. There must have been more in there than the passion fruit and pineapple juice that I tasted, because the next thing I knew I was up on our table like I was possessed by a combination of the spirits of Jack Sparrow and Beto O'Rourke. Sound like a magic night to you? Then head on over to Three Dots and a Dash. I want a booth next time!

I love this place. What a great ambiance. Drinks were spot on.

Flower Wild

My absolute fave! LOVE the drinks. LOVE the atmosphere. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

Richard

Beautiful decor with bite size snacks and large fruit infused cocktails makes it a perfect place for a date night.

Gerardo Ramirez

I've told as many people as I could about this incredible place after my first visit. The experience floored me with regards to the standards of bars that I've only just begun to scratch the surface of. The atmosphere was deceivingly comfortable: you could sit there for an hour and believe you'd been there longer. My bartender, Danny, was very informative of the drinks that my friend and I HAD to try and about their extensive rum list (wish I could've bought him a not so boozy drink but oh well). I could go on about the minutae, but honestly you're better off experiencing it on your own, taking in the island vibe without the plane ticket.

Ankit Shrivastava

Best tiki bar in Chicago. During our last visit we got our tables a little late than the time we reserved for, the manager made up for it by offering us complimentary group shots and food, best service ever!! Their group drinks are a must try.

Symone Thomas

Cool place, very instagrammy and aesthetic, good drinks with great presentation

jonathan benforado

This is an awesome bar. Tiki drinks!!!! Order then dont be like I only drink vodka. Branch out. Drink some drinks have fun.

Blessing Nonye

Oh my God this place is so cool, had my birthday dinner here on Sunday and it was more than I expected it to be, best place in Chicago to hang out, drinks are pricey but I think they’re worth it

Richard Urena

Loved the experience and the cocktails! Pricey but worth the money

Pam Levinson

Such a fun place! We just had drinks but you don't expect a Tiki Bar in downtown Chicago tucked in anakley.

Malcolm Thomas-Gustave

Wonderful cocktails and small but well done food list. Highly recommend getting a reservation for a table but the open bar makes it possible to check it out if you don’t have the time to get a reso. Great collection of mugs and swag. Will go back every time I’m in Chicago again.

Michael Wilkes

The space is pretty small, and can get pretty tightly packed even when it's not very busy. Food options are pretty limited, but they do have very fun looking drinks. The gang always leaves having had a wonderful time.

Ninad Trifale

Amazing ambience. Thematic drinks. There are large group drinks as well. Can get pretty crowded over weekends.

Christine Doan

Great bar with an island atmosphere. We went on a jam-packed busy night & were seated at the bar, all tables were reserved. It took some time to get our orders in bc they had only 2 bartenders. Still, their tiki cocktails are excellent topped with nice presentation. They even have a special bourbon cocktail too. Definitely not for the faint at heart. Their drinks are tasty, but will sneak up on you.

Spencer Small

I make it a point to visit every tiki bar I come across, and this one takes the cake! Killer ambiance, fantastic drinks, great music, friendly staff, and REALLY COOL MUGS. What’s not to like? I’ll be talking about this place for years to come and returning every chance I get.

M M

Really nice bar.... good people... fun atmosphere here. Love the bartender. Great spot

Tara Dix

Very cool ambiance, but over priced.

Huy Nguyen

Special drinks were fun to drink, share and look at. Ordered the appetizer platter, flavor was average but plenty of food for about 4/5 people. Would definitely like to check this place again and try something else. Don't forget to make a reservation!

Bellamy Blake

Was here a few months back and just remembered to review it

Donna Bella

Love this place! The drinks are amazing!! One of their drinks is the equivalent to 3 drinks in a regular bar, they are very strong and don't skimp on the rum so be careful! They use fresh fruit and flowers in all there drinks but I love the pirate ship and flaming skull that come with multiple straws to share as a group.

Matthew Wiggins

Cool bar, great drinks, cool place to take friends for a drink. Would recommend that you get reservations if you want a table - the bar area is pretty crowded. Would have rated 5 stars, but in the smaller bar area had several open tables the entire two hours we were there that were "awaiting their reservation"

Breanne Elko

We loved this place! It was fun and different. The drinks are really good and the atmosphere is awesome. The bar area is a little small and crowded, but that's pretty common. The drinks are presented in the coolest way in keeping with the theme. We went at a decent time so it wasn't overly crowded, which was nice. We didn't get food, but their menu looked pretty okay. The Painkiller drink is fabulous. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in the city.

Tom Beckman

wow, this place is wild. It's downstairs from an alley. You may have trouble finding it. Ask a local on the street. It's there but when you get downstairs, it's dark. Once inside, the drinks and food are quite good. Be ready to spend some money. But it's worth it. The bartenders are knowledgeable and it's a great place to sit at the bar and mingle.

Nicole Bonner

Super fun experience, delicious fruity drinks that come in huge sizes to share with a party. Good also delicious, reminds me of Asian/Hawaiian cuisine fusion. You get shareables for the table and it is delicious. Great music. Great photo ops and environment. Went there to celebrate my engagement and had wonderful experience I won’t forget.

Taryn Crump

What a fun place! I don't drink alcohol and went with a friend who did. I let the bartender make be whatever he felt like and it was awesome. My friend tried a sip of my drink and said it was better than what she'd ordered off the menu. The food was great also.

Mike Smith

Really fun bar, different than anything else around.

Oscar Ortiz

It’s always amazing!!! Great music, great drinks, and customer service ! It’s an oasis in cold Chicago :)

Test subj

Good drinks, but it's more popular bar vibe than Tiki. They also don't have very many liquors for going off menu/everything is significantly more expensive than other premier Tiki bars.

Thelma Montanez

We were in a girls trip and our first time in Chicago. Definitely a cool spot! We love tiki bars and the Dj, the vibe and the drinks were amazing. It’s a must try when you come visit to Chicago! Drinks are pricey but definitely worth it.

Dave

This place is really cool. Stiff drinks. Neat atmosphere. Definitely a place to check out when downtown. A hidden treasure ...-

Gayle Hutchings

It was fun. Drinks are pricey but potent and the atmosphere was eclectic and exciting. Great place to take newcomers or out of towners. Not sure about the restaurant part but it's very dark and mysterious. Watch your step as it's crowded and as mentioned dark.

Danielle Keenan

Polynesian paradise! A bit pricy drinks but well worth it!

Lisa Pusin

First stop on my trip to Chicago and we ordered the Rock Out With Your Conch Out and it served 6 of us as a starter! We all ordered individual drinks afterwards and the music was great, wish there was a dance floor to dance to it! Highly recommend this eclectic spot!

Chris Pinner

Amazing atmosphere! Drinks are all fun and delicious! Love the hidden feel and bartenders were quick and nice! Highly recommend stopping in for a cocktail.

Yoana Robles

Unique experience all around! First time here and will be back for sure! Try the Strip and naked :)

Shari Mckinley

Went yesterday to celebrate my bday. Bartender Danny was great! Drinks and food...we had the pu pu platter were great. Love the mysterious vibe of the entrance via the alley.

Varun Menghani

Terrific cocktails, great decor and music. It's a speakeasy. Overall great experience.

Alfred F.

Good cocktails, but way too pretentious. I feel like there are enough cocktail bars now that you don't need to act like you're the only game in town.

Carolyn

Greats drinks and I love how their drink menu has pics so you know what your drink will look like! They had a good variety. It’s a little tricky to find but just go in the alley until you see the tiki flames

Bossfight fan 101

Stumbled upon thIs wonderful spot. Loved this joint. Awesome drinks! Danielle was awesome, she charged our phone ok n the back

kate bartels

The entrance is in the alley. I wasn't able to find the place at first, and while looking ran into another couple looking for it too. So happy we decided to keep looking for it and not give up, because it was well worth it. Felt like we stepped back into the 60s, at a super fancy restaurant. Loved loved the decor. The food was super good, and the drinks were amazing. Definitely worth it to stop here.

Rafael Kelly

This place rocks and the staff here is awesome! Will keep coming back always. Thanks for serving up the best food and poke to a regular who came since you opened your doors!

John Lazarz

Amazing drinks! Awesome vibe and environment!

Grace Lloyd

Pricey, but it is Chicago, and for Chicago the prices are not too bad! Great group drinks. Good vibes. This is the kind of place you take your friends who you want to drink and catch up with. It's a chill, no pressure environment. It's relaxed and fun, with purple and yellow lighting, a fun tiki vibe, and some tropical drinks (lots of rum) including group drinks that are flared with dry ice and fun flowers, fruits, and designs. My friends and I had the octopus shot tree, as well as a mix of group and individual drinks. Everything was strong and boozy, and three hours passed like 30 minutes. Such a good place -- bring your friends, your hip family members, and your coworkers who want something new and fun.

M Eli6

Very delicious drinks but wish they would offer more appetizer choices. Honestly their drinks are huge and for the long wait times it would be nice to order more food with those very strong drinks. Service was good.

Beulah Lane

I have been wanting to come here for months and I finally did! Who wouldn't love a tiki bar with strong drinks?!? The drinks are all so delicious and very intricate in design. I loved how they all came in different tiki cups that were customized to this place. The bartenders were all very nice and it was very fascinating to see them make the drinks. My favorite drink was the painkiller and the zombie( which was a group drink for 4-5 people). The place does get crowded so try to make reservations or get there early. It is definitely a bar to take your friends too that might have never been to Chicago. It is located in an alley so it might be hard to find.

andrew pizzino

you want an easy going casual chinese diner that literally has everything, this is the place. The food is exceptionally good. I went in cause a buddy of mines have been here on a regular basis and have told me it was really good so since I was in town visiting him we went together. Everything was top notch. Service was really fast, cause our food came right away. Wish this place was around my neighborhood, I would go everyday.

Devon Everage

It's always a fun place for cocktails. The bourbon cocktail was actually way too sweet but the birds of paradise was perfect! It was a great balance of rum and sweet.

Marisa Brauer

Went here for my birthday and the service was great! Food was good and drinks were even better!

Daniël

As always, Three Dots did not disappoint! The new drinks menu was very inspired, the food great as always. Yum!

Jamison Fischer

Great drinks and the bartender was extremely knowledgeable on a wide array of drink options and ideas. Loved it. Definitely recommend.

Amber Johnson

The drinks were good. They had fun themes and cups. The prices were a bit high, but I guess they are in line with most of the bars in downtown Chicago. Also, my husband and I went on a Friday night. We hadn’t reserved a table, but were fortunate enough to get one. However, the person who seated us told us she’d need the table back in an hour, which just seemed odd. Either way, I was happy we got a seat because within 30 minutes after arriving the bar area was packed.

67 T/A Mustang

This is not the most kitschy traditional tiki bar in the US, but I would have to say the one with the best drinks in the country. Name a tiki bar, I have probably been to it. Drinks in the main room are great, but visit the Bamboo Room and be prepared to be blown away. True art in a glass.

Leah Wooren

This is such a secret hidden gem! I mean, it's obviously popular, but hard to find! In this random alley you'll find this wonderful tiki bar. They have SO many fun themed drinks with crazy wild cups. It gets CROWDED so make sure to go early enough if you want to sit down. The drinks are strong!

Seidy Sleiman

So much fun! Fun environment, fun cocktails and amazing vibe! Loved it

S Gillette

Great drinks! Cute atmosphere. Dance floor was a bit small, but otherwise cool hang out spot.

Jason Wheeler

The ambiance was pretty amazing here. Drinks were a little expensive here but they were a lot of fun. Our waitress did a great job. All the staff were friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

Eran Dromy

Good: Great place, love the atmosphere and the drinks (great service as well). Bad: The music can be very loud and it's hard to hear/talk. The price is a bit high for the actual amount of drink you are getting (most of it is ice) and beside being very cool, the shared drinks are also too pricey for what you are getting (but again, the drinks are fantastic). Other: Didn't try the food. Reservation is highly recommend to avoid standing in line (which can take a while).

Emily Shen

One of the most fun and sought-after bars in Chicago! Three Dots claims its a speakeasy, and technically there’s no signage of where the bar is, but usually after 10pm the lines are a block long, so you’ll know where to find it. When you come, be prepare to splurge. I personally think it’s worth every penny because the drinks are STRONG, tasty, and the vibe is super fun and there are a ton of shareable group drinks. They have a ton of drinks on their menu too. Come with a group for the best time! Or just come to spectate everyone else having the best time here. It’s hilarious. If you like coconutty or creamy drinks, the Aloha Felicia is for you. I’ve also tried the Painkiller and their Mai Tais and loved both of them. I love that they have extra strong drinks which aren’t more expensive. Tip: Make a reservation beforehand to bypass the hella long lines this place always has!

Daniel Moran

I usually don’t write reviews for a place that’s already so popular, but I felt compelled after the great experience. Yes, the drinks are lovely, but what I really liked about the bar was the diversity of patrons. Normally at a place like this, it’s a bit stuffy with the people inside. Here, I felt like there was a wide variety of people from all backgrounds hanging out and having a good time. Kudos to the owners for curating a solid environment.

Scarlett Chicago

Super unique theme! Clean and modern, I loved it!

Paula Ybarra

Great drinks, nice looking place but was very crowded and no where to sit. Had to stand up with my drinks the whole time while the other bar was only for people with like a reservations. Not cool .

Aishwarya Patankar

Super cool drinks and really

Lyndsey Campbell

This place is so cool! It took me a while to pick what drink I wanted because the selection is so unique and great, but whatever I got was delicious! Might want to make a reservation here, though. There weren’t any tables even at 5 PMish.

Jason Watts

Walk past the donut shop and into the alley. Follow the tiki torches to the bouncer. Have your ID ready. Loved the atmosphere. We went on a Monday night for drinks and had no problem getting seats but the most all the tables were full. The drinks were very flavorful and even with me being a whiskey drinker I enjoyed the bourbon cocktail even though it was definitely sweet. Yes, there are some drinks that are more expensive than others, but I wouldn't call $14-18 absurdly expensive in the world of cocktails.

Cami Liu

A fun place to hang out. Drinks are fantastic and they are all in stylish mug. We had so much fun and my friends got so drunk after. Even though they only had appetizer type of food which we didn’t know before, we were not disappointed with it.

Kevin Rollins

Nice Polynesian themed environment. Offer individual and group drinks with great presentation. Expensive!

David Karamalakis

This was a very interesting place! It was a little pricey but they had some unique cocktails and beers. I was delightfully surprised they had presidente beer because I've been wanting to try it. My fiance made me trade her drinks because she didn't like her cocktail but I thought it was great. The atmosphere is very nice.

Brad Vo

Very relax speak easy type of atmosphere bar. Extensive selection of rums. I did not know there are so many types and brands of rums. If rum is your spirits of choice then this is the place for you. Good mixed cocktails too. Food is very decent and staff are friendly and helpful.

Yadira Hernandez

Enjoyed the ambiance would come back again. Would like more variety other than rum on their specialty drinks.

Evan Lilas

My girlfriend had her birthday yesterday and she wanted to go have dinner and drinks at this place. The gentleman at the door told us that he can't let us in. Since we were dressed nice I couldn't find any reason. I asked if it was crowded or they had a private party and he said no. I'm not going to try again to go back

John Wilkinson

Awesome drinks with great presentations. Order from the menu which is tilted towards rum cocktails. Don't come expecting to explain how you just had the best drink that one time you visited the Carribean and expect them to guess what that was. Trust the menu and enjoy.

Jeffry Gonzalez

I always have a blast when I come to chicago. Always looking forward to come to this bar and pick some souvenirs to take home

iGen Gamer

The drinks and food are fantastic! It’s a wonderful place to enjoy some adult conversation

Enrique Huizar

Great place to have a craft drink, their drinks are very unique if you ever want to take some one on a nice date, I would definitely recommend you to take them here they will be surprised. It’s tiki themed very unique spot to go have a nice night out. Just make sure you enter trough the alley. It’s like a hidden treasure.

Matthew Johnson

Great tasting tiki drinks. Beautiful too!

Vasilis Tsaparis

Nice bar with good cocktails. The bar is decorated in African style. Nice music, you have to reserve table to seat

Shantnu Bhandari

A fancy cocktail bar with creative mugs for each drink..

Y Pham

THIS IS THE BEST EXPERIENCE IN MY ENTIRE TIME IN CHICAGO! Best bar I’ve been to! It’s soooo exotic, spooky, it’s dark and mysterious and intimate inside. And boy were the drinks BOMB DOT COM!!! We ordered Bali Bali which is a group drink for 5 people I think. It was $85 or something I think. Bali Bali group drinks in the middle and our own individual drinks. I ordered Tales of the Hi-sea. Boyyyy it was sooo smooth and fruit and good! They also have really good food here! The coconut shrimp was divine. Ughh my god it was so gooood!!! I recommend you guys booking a table here rather than just walking in. It’s better to sit down than standing around the bar. If you haven’t been WHAT ARE U STILL WAITING FOR??

Iain Short

It's something different and the tiki theme was well executed especially in terms of the creative cocktail options. However, I'm in no hurry to return mainly due to the fact that the novelty wears off pretty quickly and that if you don't have a table (we didn't) your options are to stand in the way near the bustling bar or stand in the way inbetween other people's tables.

Bethany Jengic

A must visit at least once in Chicago. Such a cute tiki bar! I highly recommend making a reservation because otherwise you are standing up in a crowded small space. It gets busy really fast!

Red Dacquel

Came all the way from NYC on a recommendation. Your site and Google say you close at 2am. I am here at 1 and your guy at the door is denying access with no explanation, only that you guys "are done". Uhhh ok. I guess the hospitality business is different out here.

Nikki Rai

So glad I got to visit this place while I was in Chicago! It was super busy but still a great time. The drinks taste amazing and so much effort is put into each drink (the cups and details were perfect with the theme of the bar). Very unique place would definitely recommend to visit and the staff were great.

John Mohn

What a great find. Cool Tiki Bar in a Chicago alley. Pricey but very fun!

Johana Naranjo

First time at a speakeasy, came with my husband and his friend. I Loved the atmosphere and the bartender. Will definitely be coming back again

Ghazal Shambayati

Exciting place, heavy and interesting drinks. mine didnt taste good tho. I recommend this place.

Brad Beacom

Amazing people, solid drinks, very good food. They have two sides, the main bar and the bamboo room. The bamboo room is small, intimate, and if you like Tiki a trip you should take in this lifetime. if you're just out for fun the main room is excellent or if you're just impulsive check out the main room. The bamboo room requires reservations so plan ahead it's also a bit more expensive, but 100% worth it.

Rebekah Skaggs

BEST Place to have drinks!!! Originally from SC to vacation in IL. We were recommended here from my boyfriend's cousin who had traveled here. It is sort of hard to find down an alley and then it is a basement bar, but worth the adventure. Atmosphere was amazing, staff nice, and drinks absolutely delicious. They may seem a little pricey but well worth it. Definitely try the Fat Bottom Mermaid.

Jim Derrick

It was great this time around, but going without reservations turns it into just another crowded bar.

jason wallace

Great atmosphere, personable servers, unique drinks premium prices.

Reuben Yau

Drinks here are awesome, the staff take their time to prepare each one carefully and make it special for you. These cocktails are about $15 each but each has their own theme and actually looks better than the illustrations shown on the menu, which is a refreshing change. The patrons are a good mix of locals and visitors. Would definitely recommend visiting if you're in town and want something different than the typical micro brewery and their IPA offerings.

Christopher Sucharda

Tiki drinks in a cool decor. Pricy drinks but it's the busy downtown Chicago area. ALL drinks are pricey. Food is good bartenders are knowledgeable. Worth a visit or two or three.

Krissy Schwab

Three Dots is a fun bar. Lavish drinks and a fun atmosphere. If you are going on a weekend evening, plan ahead and get reservations. Otherwise you'll be crammed in the bar area. I had to plan our reservation a month and a half in advanced. Weekdays are generally less busy.

Mary Anna

Delicious drinks, but not enough food. If you’re hungry, grab some snacks before or after, otherwise you’ll pay a lot for nothing) But who cares about food in this place? Go check drinks!!!! Those are fabulous ❤️

Marizza Romero

Crafty cocktails with a twist! Every tourists delight. Fun atmosphere and energetic vibe. Lots of fun! Worth the stop for locals and tourists.

Brian Cowan

A very popular cocktail bar but I can't understand why. It's filled with people taking pictures of their drinks, which are heavy on the ice and decorations and light on flavor and alcohol. It's very crowded on a Saturday night and just about impossible to carry on a conversation. I was able to knock back my cocktail in about a minute and was all too happy to leave. It's definitely a place to see and be seen, not for drinking.

İpek Er

The decor is good. The drinks are cool. The prices are just a little bit high. The place is very crowded. The music is great and makes you want to dance... but you can't! You cannot dance because of squarefoot restriction. It is just a bit loud for me. I had to yell to talk to friends. Overall good

Johnson Daniel

A virgin no more ....! Great tasty drinks

Ian Leonard

Among the greats in the quest for Tiki revival. We've been spending Saturday nights at the Bamboo Room and are consistently impressed with the drinks, service, and attention to detail. Kevin and the other bartenders have an unbelievable knowledge of the cocktails they're creating and will happily indulge your questions -- all while crafting on-fire masterpieces or walking you through a tasting of some of their 150+ rums. The menu features some of the greats -- Zombies, Mai Tais, and of course the Three Dots -- made exactly to their original specs (and strength). It doesn't specify "limit two" like it used to, but we've never been able to test it. The drinks, decor, music, and vibe will soothe your Island-Escape itch -- at least for a few hours...

Video game Skunk

Overall a good experience! Bartender was very friendly, drinks were delicious and hade nothing to complain about! I also enjoyed finding this location!

Shivangi Arora

Lovely place with wide selection of crafted drinks in beautiful chalices. If you're looking for a relaxing ambience for the night, go for it without thinking any twice! I went there on my birthday and totally loved everything, be it food, drinks, atmosphere. The staff is so helpful and generous. She even offered me a shot for my birthday that was on the house! They have a wide variety to choose from (PS: I totally got confused what to try first

toni polino

Had a great first time experience here. Food was delicious drinks were spectacular. The manager made me feel very welcomed and attentive. Atmosphere was incredible! This place is like no other would come definitely come back.

Tristan Penepacker

Amazingly fun tropical dark bar atmosphere in a basement in Chicago. Cocktails taste great, and the bar is EXTENSIVE! I recommend the Cobra’s Fang, which includes absinthe. Food spreads are great, too; you can eat the orchid flowers included with every drink & dish!

Dad 1958

Very quaint, dark cellar polynesian drink and appetizer establishment. Drink options were incredible. Appetizers were delicious. Setting was very comfortable and well decorated. 1st rate and will go back again when in Chicago

Carl Quash

The location and drinks are so cool! First off, the bar is in this fancy alley where you are immediately greeted by skulls, tiki torches and lights. After one drink with two skulls (high alcohol) on the menu... the rest is hist...

Chris Krolczyk

I had to let up early because I had to be up for work at 5 the next morning, but if Tiki bars and tropical drinks are you thing - well, you won't be disappointed. Their selection of cocktails is impressive enough, but they have a list of rums like some bars list bourbons and scotches and you could be here for a while. Only downside is price - the cheapest cocktail is about $14 - but if you have the cash you won't care after a few of their drinks.

Carisa Arellano

Cool atmosphere, quick paced, great food! Our waitress only smiled when she realized that I put the drink umbrellas in my hair lmao so that was a win.

Carter Stanley

This place is fun. Never been to place like this before. The detail that went into this place is amazing. The cocktails while $$$ are amazing and worth sticking around for 1 or 2 drinks. Perfect after dinner date night spot just generally any time. All drinks served in special glasses that are pretty awesome. The octopus shot tray is something to behold.

James Davis

Must see on the Chicago "to do" list. Super funky cocktail spot. Will be back for more TIKI!!

Nick Pratt

Pretty cool place super super dark in the bar area the drinks are crazy cool. Can't give a super detailed review was only there for about a half hour. Check it out if you're in Chicago though

Natalie On

Tiki bar in the heart of downtown. Entrance is in a parallel alley lit up with Tiki style statues. There are bar seats or you can reserve tables with food. Atmosphere was busy with a mix of people from Chicago and visitors. Cocktails were well made and there is a big rum selection. The venue can be loud when it's packed and it can feel crowded if you are sat by the bar.

Katrina Alber

The bar was very cool, and the drinks were strong. My only issue was that we had reservations and still had to wait 15 minutes... THEN had to re-prompt the hostess to check on our table. All in all it took 30 minutes from the time we walked in to get seated. Would have been nice if there were some small appetizers or something available too... but that’s just me. All in all, a cute place, but a bit overpriced for the service.

James Monje

It was okay. I have only been there once and plan on going back, but the drink so far were just okay. I was expecting a great tasting drink because of the price, but it was mediocre. Not sure if it was a dance club or a bar. Music was super loud. That's why I thought it was a dance club.

Harold Peete

A few folks from work decided to stop in here for a few drinks. It's a great place to unwind. The drinks are excellent but be warned they can sneak up on you...they're that good. It's not the largest place, but you can't beat the ambiance. You can walk in, but I highly recommend making a reservation. They do serve food, and we tried the platter, which was spot on. Fantastic spot for Tiki drinks, and very cozy.

Art Hogarth

What an awesome Tiki Bar! Had a great time and the drinks were simply perfect.

Sean O'Neill

A little pricey, and if patience is a virtue you will need that on a busy night. But the negatives stop there: good food, atmosphere and strong tasty adult juice cocktails in awesome tiki chalices. Crowd nice and mixed, with good vibes all around. The best aspect of this establishment is there seems to be no evident street sign, just a blue light bulb in a dimly lit downtown alley-way. I love that.

Went as a group of 5. The bar was packed and there were a few empty tables at 11:45pm on a Wednesday. We needed reservations for a table which was going to be a 30 minute wait. However, my friend went to order food (kitchen’s open until midnight, btw) and the host said he’d just seat us now. Weird, why wait then? The Grand Pu-Pu Platter was great, definitely just like sharing appetizers so heads up. Most of the food was amazing with only two items that were just okay. We were most excited about the drinks so we all got something different and while we liked them, it was not an everyone-must-try-this moment. Tasty, good quality, but not particularly exciting.

Cool tiki bar that is kinda hidden. Drinks are a little pricy, but probably the norm to big cities. Try their Thai wings

Berlyn Wall

Very fun place for a group outing. I suggest making a reservation for a table.

Really great themed drinks. This place is really great. They have an amazing atmosphere. The entire place is Hawaiian themed, from the decor, to the drinks and even the wait staffs apparel. The place is packed most of the time from what I can tell. The drinks are a little pricey so I wouldn't recommend for people who are looking for a cheap drink or beer. They have really cute/cool themed cups that you can also purchase. I also really enjoyed that all the drinks have a rating that let's you know how strong or mild the drinks are. The other really cool thing is that they offer special group drinks that can be shared between large groups of people!

Awesome tiki bar. Ask anyone in Chicago where you should go for a fun bar and they all mention this place. Seriously. Everyone.

The drinks are fun and delicious but expensive. You're not going to find drinks like these anywhere else in the city and it's worth it to check it out. I ordered the painkiller and it was so tasty. If you like coconut you should try it. The location is hidden in an alley but it's a treasure to visit!

Great fancy hole in the wall. Felt like a speak easy! We walked in around 5pm in the middle of the week and they had no tables, we had to sit at the bar but it's was a great atmosphere. Drinks are pricey but you get what you pay for. It was top shelf and tasted great. Didn't try the food, but if you are in Chicago and looking for a fun place to drink, this is the place to go!

Renee Wilson

Good and fun cocktails. Bartenders are friendly and efficient. We went when it was packed on a friday night. Standing room is only in a small place around the bar, tables are crowded and reserved only. Cocktails were about 15$. Cool bar but very busy later in evening.

Rekia Lovely

Great atmosphere. Wish it were not so crowded

Ashley Kennedy

Such a fun atmosphere and delicious drinks! I especially enjoyed the shared drinks

you want an easy going casual chinese diner that literally has everything, this is the place. The food is exceptionally good. I went in cause a buddy of mines have been here on a regular basis and have told me it was really good so since I was in town visiting him we went together. Everything was top notch. Service was really fast, cause our food came right away. Wish this place was around my neighborhood, I would go everyday.

Samuel Kent

A cool place for drinks and small dishes and one of my favorite Chicago experiences.

Richard Harris

Amazing! If you're into Tiki this place is a must do!! Great drinks and a true experience from top to bottom. One of the first places I go if I'm in or passing through Chicago.

McTwisterStudios

What can I say? Great place to grab drinks in the city! Date spot✔️ Atmosphere✔️ Tasty drinks ✔️✔️ I recommend making a table reservation in advance as the place fills up fast! Prices are on par for a cocktail bar in River North.

We went late on a Saturday night in June. DJ was great! Great mix of current and 90s-00s music. The Thai Fried Chicken was delicious!

Got dinner planned in Chicago and looking to end the night off with a chilled, fun and friendly vibe? Head on over to ...- The tiki-theme hits a high point with their various single-drink mugs, glasses and sculptural sea-loot-themed combo drinks. If Jules Verne opened a cocktail bar, this would be it! You can't go wrong on this menu - each drink is a piece of tropical treasure. It wouldn't be complete without bar staff donning fruity button-up shirts and smiles till all hours.

This bar is a must see in Chicago! The decor is amazing. Makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. The drinks are very pretty and taste really good, however the drink we had was not strong at all. We mainly came for the experience, not to get drunk so it worked for us, plus the drinks are $15+. This place had a line our entire stay in Chicago. No cover!

This bar was recommended to us on a trip to Chicago, and it was a highlight! The decor was great (as was the experience of finding this place around a corner, down an alley, and then down some stairs). The drinks were pricey, but were delicious (and we got a couple strong ones). We had delicious appetizers, but we definitely would have spent more time and money there if there were entrees as well. Thanks for a great experience!

It's not your cozy neighborhood tiki bar, it's a heyday sized institution. It's true to the aesthetic and friendlier than places this size usually are always a must when in town.

Jeffrey Glazer

Fun tiki bar. If you're looking for the entrance, it's around the corner, around back in the alley, go through the down the stairs, and the through the other door into the dimly lit bar. Drinks were great, though if it's crowded you'll probably wait a while. The drink list does a good job of explaining the drinks and the group drinks are super cool.

Sara Schultz

A really cool Tiki bar in downtown Chicago! On the pricy side but totally worth it!! Great cocktails in really cool cups! Which by the way you can buy to take home with you if you so choose. Also a great varity of group cocktails that also come in really cool cups! There's even one with dry ice!!

Saniya Shah

Amazing Tiki bar. Drinks were great. Getting a table is difficult especially talking to staff and reserving

Braden Bloxham

Went here on Tuesday 5/28. The drinks I had were incredible and the two guys working were both outstanding. Definitely the best bar I’ve been to in CHI.

Awesome ambience, service, food, and drinks! Make a reservation or go early --- especially on the weekends --- if you want a seat.

RSVP is highly recommended. Good drinks but a little pricey. Not much of a food/snack selection. Recommend eating prior to stopping by also.

Atmosphere 10 Drinks 10 Timely Service 7.5 great overall!

What a wonderful tiki bar. Their cocktails are unique and tasty. I had to pase myself to enjoy several cocktails. If you come with a big party make sure to order big bowl of cocktail with special effect! What a fun place to hang and chill! Our server was super friendly and explained the cocktails very well. It was easy to pick out the right cocktail for me and my wife!

Rebecca Seamans

Very crowded and nearly impossible to get to the bar to order. I would advise making a reservation ahead of time. It was only about 4pm and everything was booked up and the bar was about three people deep. The host just handed us a menu and told us good luck. Not the friendliest place, but it's definitely super cool looking and the drinks were decent.

Sean Kelly

One day, I will convince enough of my friends to join me in this alley basement to imbibe and share an overturned liquor bottle in a bowl filled with dry ice and a plastic plane. And on that day, the Chicago sun will shine on my smile and I will know happiness once again. But until that day, I will continue to order multiple individual cocktails served in the shape of a small goblin. And maybe bamboo? Idfk what the actual three dots drinks comes in. But its delicious.

Tony Corces

Fun themed cocktail bar. Intricate drinks worth the money. Go for the unique cocktails, not the place for a beer you'll be missing out if you don't go the cocktail route.

Kaylie Straka

A nice place to get a pre-dinner drink. Service was great! Definitely more about the atmosphere than anything, and seems best suited to groups of 4-8. Even as just a pair, we had a good time. Be sure to make a reservation. Note the drinks are strong so be mindful when ordering.
