Nice place! Just had some apps and cocktails, but everything tasted great, and was very reasonably priced. Happy hour specials are awesome!
We had a different place picked out for brunch on Sunday but we didn't want to wait 40 mins....so we kept walking and found this gem!!! The food was AWESOME!!! Patrick the bartender was so helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and did a great job suggesting some of his favorite dishes!!! After enjoying a great bloody Mary my husband got a FREE bottle of their bloody Mary mix for Father's Day!!!! We were very impressed with The Windsor....check it out if your looking for great flavors and service!!!!
My meal was very mediocre. My request for a medium rare burger was met with a well done and then a medium well plus result. At least they took my burger off the tab. The food for my wife and son was fine. Drink menu is okay. I imagine this is a great place to come for a loud happy hour to pound a few brews after work and eat okay bar food. I just can't recommend this place for actual dining.
Good food, reasonable prices, friendly service
This place is amazing. Looks like a regular, somewhat pricey bar, but the food is amazing! And the bartenders are top notch! Love this place
Good food place in hotel. Really recommend
Wonderful experience! Food was fantastic and Miranda was the best!
The Service me and my husband received on March 22, 2019 was HORRIBLE. This Bar is connected to the hotel that we were staying at and thought that it would be a good choice for our first night, instead the staff made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. I got the impression that they were either not welcoming to people of color or either uneducated on how to interact. We still left a nice tip. Service was horrible and that food was not that great either. The Beer Was the Best thing there.
So me and my work colleagues visited for lunch. It was my first time whereas they had visited before. They all were complimentary of the cocktails and food from their past experiences, but mediocre about the customer service. Well I learned why. Our server was nice, but I noticed that not once did he check on us after received our food and neither did he ask if we wanted refills l, but he did refill our water. Overall one of the best Turkey burgers I've ever had. However for the price I honestly can't say I would return.
Not too impressed with the food or drink, THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY and AMAZING.
Its was good. Food.
Stopped in for a quick bite while walking around. Chose to sit at the bar and had a great bartender named Michelle. Food was yummy, fairly priced, and good portions, not oversized, not tiny. The whole place was clean and bright, and decorated nicely for the holidays. If I am ever back in the area I'll stop by for a bite and a beer.
Very nice atmosphere. Fancy but not expensive. Friendly, responsive service. Yummy appetizers, the crab toast is delicious. The meal could have a few more entree options but what is available is all different and covers steak, chicken, fish, and vegetarian. Pretty plate settings and an obvious show of pride in the cooking and presentation. Nice spot for anyone to stop and enjoy lunch or dinner.
Waaay overpriced
Just a local couple taking in the city for a weekend. The Windsor was down the block from our hotel and a very affordable option in comparison to other nearby eats. Food was delicious and service was great. Blair, our server, was a treat. Thank you for a pleasant experience.
Craft beer is 4 bucks now during happy hour (3-6pm) but still worth it.
I really enjoyed my experience at the Windsor. The place is nice and has a great atmosphere, the staff was professional and courteous and, of course, the food was good.
Informative bartender
Fruit flies everywhere. Good only so so.
We have been several times as we work next door. Every time they are incredibly rude, slow with service and very condescending. Last evening the manager, Adrian Morales, was not only disrespectful but he was impatient with customers and started an argument with one of the customers at the bar. If you aren’t visiting on business they treat you as if you do not matter. I have been extremely disappointed every time. There are many other better options in the area.
We had great food. The steaks are delicious. Try the deviled eggs and Bloody Mary's too
Great happy hour specials. The sliders are amazing...really all the food is very well executed.
This was my third attempt going to the Windsor. The last two times they did not honor our reservation because a bigger group had bumped us. I don't find the staff to be very friendly, instead it feels like we as customers were a bother to them. The food was fine, but not worth the pricing.
Solid strong cocktails and great location that’s close but not too close to Michigan Ave
Great menu
Great restaurant, tucked away by a hotel this place is very understated which makes getting a table a breeze and their Manchego Burger is to die for.
Brunch was swell!
Attentive service, good food.
Pleasant rooms. Would like to come back for the bar. Menu revealed a gpod selection.
Great place to grab a burger, food was well done and the service was on spot.
Great happy hour... Wonderful cocktails... One of the best old fashions that I've had. The pork chop was very good. Deviled egg delicious but $3 for half an egg! Saw a lot of faces reacting when people ordered. Caramelized onion dip and kettle chips was a nice app. We had to eat 3 hours later after theater because while tasty, the dinner did not fill either of us.
Very tasty burgers and appetizers. Nice place to go with a group.
Average Food. Very nice spot to sit and have conversation, Good meeting spot
The food and atmosphere were incredible! The chef, Bryan, made his rounds and was really helpful and fun to talk with.
Best happy hour in streeterville! $3 brews on weekdays from 3-6pm
Great appetizers, but very busy during rush hour.
Good friendly bar. Michelle good bartender great service.
Overpriced for the experience. Food was below average but the service was good.
We seen the Windsor got good reviews and it was close to our hotel so we tried it. We got seated and started to look at the menu for a cocktail. The only liquor they serve is harder and dark liquors like whiskey, rye, gin. Nothing more 'girly' for us on our vacation. As we were trying to pick a drink we also looked at the food and there was little selection and it was very pricey. The google price rating was a two and I'd say it's closer to three '$' it also said American for good style I'd say upper scale american. There was also some other commotion on the outside patio with some other guests and we ended up deciding to leave. Dont rely completely on reviews for this one. Maybe the food was great, well never know.
Love the fish dinner
Delicious fillet medallion sliders, oh my lord
Expensive for no reason!
Happy hour till 6 pm Great prices and drinks
Really tasty burger. Not messy. I hate mayo, and the aoli was delicious on the burger
Very expensive for actual meals but the bartender 'Elvis' was awesome, try the margarita there.
Loved it. I am in physical recovery at RIC/Northwestern nearby and my sister was taking us out to dinner, my friends and I. It was a freezing cold night last week and they were pushing my wheelchair. I said "too cold, land me anywhere." Right at that corner was Windsor. Gorgeous food. Medallions of beef, Perfect cuts with horseradish sauce, which I love. Dense mashed potatoes with actual sprinkled chives on top, and the the best asparagus I ever ate. Grilled, AL dente, fresh lemon and peppercorns. We didn't do dessert but I plan on going back and then I'll know..., Connected to the Hampton Inn. Wheelchair accessible. Atmosphere relaxing. Dim lighting. Candle on table. cod my
Celebrating during Celebration.
The atmosphere is very nice, comfortable. My turkey burger was AMAZING! The fries were good, but very thin like strings. This place was recommended to me, and I will recommend to others.
When you still want to have a fun day, this is a geat place to watch some games without being in a raging bar. Been here several times with my girlfriend and tell my friends it’s one of my favorite hidden gems. Great food, great drinks, and awesome staff. I’ll be there in an hour.
Good Food!
Cool bar, awesome drinks
My wife and I had a great time for her birthday. They make a really great steak for a price that beats nearby competitors (both the ribeye and the hanger steak are good.) The atmosphere and lighting welcome you into the environment and makes you wanna stay for another course. The opinion of the wife is that they make a good old fashioned as well. Next time im in the area ill come back again.
I love this place because it has tones of a fancy restaurant without the overly formal atmosphere or high prices. Good food, good drinks, good service, and never have waited for a table.
I've been twice now, once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times fabulous. Perfectly cooked high quality food, scallops were incredible. Decent portion sizes and very friendly staff.
The food was well done. Ill be coming back.
Fantastic hamburger. Very comforting low key atmosphere.
Innovative menu and delicious food. Amazing service. (Nadia was personable, helpful and efficient.) All the staff are very friendly. Casual, warm atmosphere. We'll be back soon to try more menu items!
Went to Chicago for a couple days. Stopped in to grab some drinks and apps. LOVED the deviled eggs and onion dip! Place was cute and hit the spot. Would definitely go back if we were in the area.
Food is good, but portions are very lacking. $6 for 5 asparagus spears and $18 for a rather small rotisserie half chicken. Au jus was very salty and it took awhile to come out
The food here is so awesome we ate here twice when visiting Chicago! The spinach and artichoke dip is different to any I’ve had before (and better for jt) and chicken tortilla soup was to die for. If you’re a fan of blue cheese and steak you should definitely check out the Filet Sliders — they pack a flavour to punch. The service was fantastic and the ambience spot on. We’ll definitely eat here again next time we’re in the area!
Great bar and restaurant attached to the Homewood Suites. Good food and nice selection of drinks. Atmosphere is great, fireplace and all.
Food was good, service was great.
Excellent food and service! The shrimp and corn bisque was delicious!
Nice decor, quiet atmosphere, tasty brunch choices.
We found this place out of sheer luck and so happy we did! Everything from the service to the food to the atmosphere was amazing. I can vouch for the crab avacado toast, onion dip & chips, Filet Sliders, and Nutella Brownies. Try it, you'll like it! ☺️
Our 1st time here...wonderful establishment, great service, and food. I would highly recommend to anyone
Very accomodating. Great drinks. Ample portions for the price. Food delicious! Late hours a plus since I was at hospital until late into the night. Will definitely return!
Really great American menu bar on the corner of the Hampton inn hotel. Drinks are moderately priced as is the menu. The food is high quality as well as the service provided. I ordered the cheese burger and it was prepared well and savory.
Great after work spot frequented by Northwestern employees. Food is good, atmosphere is chill after a crazy day at the hospital, and service is always great.
Good atmosphere and great service!
I started with a cup of mushroom soup and a deviled egg. The rich, buttery mushroom soup tastes amazing. The deviled eggs starts honey mustard sweet. A few seconds later, the jalapeno gives if a spicy kick. Then salty from the large chunk of bacon hiding in the ramekin, beneath the egg. I wanted another. The Manchego burger was ok. Asked how I like it cooked, I said, "medium rare, rare, or raw. It was cooked way past medium almost well. No biggie, but it does not taste as good to me cooked like that. The red zin was a surprise. I'm not sure how to describe it. It wasn't earthy as most red zins I've ever had. Rather inexpensive for Downtown Chicago. I recommend it for lunch.
Pleasant, most accommodating with our orders, nothing out of this world
Frequent visitor to the Windsor as I work next door. Food is above average from appetizer to entrees. Service is average but expect long waiting periods for bigger groups.
Good happy hour specials and less expensive than other places in area
Good food, but overly priced
All of our lunch meals were good and the buffalo cucumbers were also a surprising treat. Could use a larger beer selection but no complaints.
Stayed next door at the Hampton Inn. Decoded to try this place out on a recommendation from a coworker. Glad I did. Great food, I had K-town short ribs & crab toast. They were both fantastic & the burgers looked great too. Good drink selections & fair prices for the area.
Nice restaurant that is attached to the Hampton Inn. It is not part of the Hampton Inn, but you can access it from a door inside the Hampton Inn. The menu is not extensive, but the selection is adequate. Prices are average for Chicago, which makes this an affordable place to eat. The interior is nicely decorated, and they have some televisions to watch sports. The meals I had were good and nicely portioned. I particularly enjoy their side plates. This is definitely a good stop if you are staying at the Hampton Inn on business and just want to get a decent dinner and turn in for the night.
Fine place for an after work snackand drink. Nothing spectacular, but nothing bad for sure. The service was quite attentive, the drinks were made well, the food was pretty alright. I'd recommend it if you're staying around there for sure. But I'm not sure that I would go out of my way to go there
Great food! And great drinks!
Right by Northwestern Medicine campus. Solid American fare. My guests had salmon entree, I had the turkey burger. Turkey burger was spicy. Accommodating staff. Family bathroom available. Booth and table seating. Full bar.
Clean rooms and friendly helpful staff. Booked way a head of time, wish our son was on the same floor as us. Waited for our two rooms so they would be same floor and they put my son on another floor when he came later. Great location!
Service great, food very good, happy hour excellent hours 4p to 6:30p.
Delicious! Especially the filet sliders
Everything was delicious during restaurant week. We devoured all three courses. Waiter was super nice and always came quickly to clear our plates for the next item. Would definitely come back for more!
Budget hotel diner pretending to be a high end restaurant. Food is okay, but prices are all over the place, going up to way overpriced. Waiter gave distinct impression he did NOT want to be there. Their marketing gives the wrong impression. You were warned.....
A taste of class while having lunch, out shopping and moving around the city...
Good food, pleasant, attentive staff. Thank yuh ou!
Probably a great place for small plates and beer. Entrees are so so.
Wonderful atmosphere, food was delicious, staff was very knowledgeable.
Tasty Salmon with soy and ginger, mash and seasonal greens! Only got like 4 potatoes though...
Service was good, food tasted good as well, nothing out of the ordinary but just good solid food and service. Went for a quick lunch in between meeting and service was pretty fast.
Good food and good service in nice atmosphere.
The Windsor has a great Happy Hour. Nick is great as a bartender!
Great food. Service was a bit off on our most recent visit, but I'll go back.
Love the atmosphere of the place:. The lighting, the decor, the arrangement of seating areas: some are next to the large windows - you can people-watch! The food is excellent, especially the thin crispy fries, and the service is great: timely and knowledgeable.
The Windsor has great staff and delicious bites. A few times my fish and burger tasted a little charred. Charred should not overwhelm the food. If your really hungry, stick with the burger other portions can be a little smaller than expected And I am not a big eater. But usually the food is done superbly. Great place for Work or group meetings and happy hours.
I ate at this restaurant the day I made check in at the Hampton. I didn't like the food, it was terrible, I ate it because I made a transatlantic flight of 16 hours, and go to hotel 1 hour more, on the same day, and I knew that if I wouldn't I had eaten I had needed to seek and wait at another place. Before to pay, I said to the waitress that was the worst meal I ever had in my life, and still is. I am very honest about this. They returned me part of the money of my order.
They have great happy hour specials weekdays until 6 pm, but the waitstaff and bartenders were behind rude and condescending. God forbid you try to get a drink at the bar when you have a table. I won't be returning.
Fast service, good food, great bar tender.
Great happy hour deals. Tasty snacks and beverages. Not a bad way to end a weekday.
Just had happy hour drinks & snack that were pretty awesome!
Comfortable & convient to the hospital. The Mac N Cheese & Roasted brussel sprouts were just delicious & perfect. Husband said "steak was small" & medium was more like medium rare.
Good food!
Pretty good burger and service.
Happy Hour specials. Whoa.
Food is ok, but customer service is not good. I guess with all the tourist business, they stay busy enough without caring.
Yesterday was my second trip to Windsor and I would certainly go back again. The entrees were really well executed and everyone got exactly what they ordered. The scallops and grits were melt in your mouth delicious! Our waitress, Josie, was a delight so we didn’t have to worry about anything.
Average guacamole. Average scallops, you get 4. Drinks were good.
Great food
Great food and great service. No waiting to get a table!
Kindly receptionists and delicious food
Good food. Lacking a GF menu but was still able to find something. Nice patio but at 3 in shade and wind made it too cold to sit out that day. Would def go back!
Great happy hour beer specials
Food ingredients were mediocre and prep was very lazy. The kitchen took advantage of my placinga to-go order to make the portions much smaller than normal. I ordered the rotisserie chicken sandwich and corn chowder. I'm fairly certain what little chicken was present on the sandwich was yesterday's chicken quarter entree. Chicken was very dry as way the bread. I was literally provided 3 oyster checkers for my soup. Soup was tasty though.
Stopped in for lunch, excellent and knowledgeable service, really very well thought out and prepared selections, very generous portions, no hesitation in recommending.
Very busy, popular place. Awesome staff. Great happy hour menu!
Always imaginative, well-prepared and delicious in a very pleasant atmosphere.
Nice atmosphere, food a non plus
One of Chicago’s best happy hours. $3 draft beers and that includes delicious craft beer as well!
Superb chowder, perfect braised Brussels sprouts and tasty portabella sandwich. Good prices, friendly staff, inviting interior and lovely quietness.
Small and Intimate the Rib eye and Lemon Cheesecake was wonderful
I asked for a medium cooked hamburger, it was cooked well past that. The fries were actually pretty good, and they have a really good, albeit pricy assortment of local beers. For 15 bucks a burger I at least expected it to be cooked to the term i asked. (I didnt return the burger since i think letting meat go to waste is a horrible thing to do)
The quality of food was not impressive and the presentation was sub par. The atmosphere was great, but that was about the only positive. Won’t be returning.
Interesting food and great service
The bartender who was working on serving during lunch on Wednesday, April 12th was amazing. He was informative, funny, and attentive without being a bother. Also he had a sixth sense for keeping wine glasses filled. the Korean short ribs are a must have!
Best happy hour deals!
