Seems a bit confused about what kind of bar it's trying to be. Kind of a jack-of-all-trades kind of place. Good for groups and watching sports. Good food, but not amazing. I would call it a safe bet for just about any occasion.

The place has a nice atmosphere, but I couldn't get in without an ID!?! I look young for my age, but I'm 40. The guy at the door let me meet my friends at the bar, but then walked up to me after 15 minutes and said we let you in on camera without an ID so you have to go. I'll never be back again. Definitely racial disparities, they tend to card black people or they'll make up a reason to not let you in. However, they never do this to White people. Black people who are working professionals & college educated who live in the South loop, you've been warned. Read some of the comments left by black professionals.

Amazing experience! Our party was attended to immediately and the staff was very helpful accommodating us. Our waitress was also very attentive and had very good recommendations. The food was fantastic! Grilled cheese, wings, and burgers are good choices. Wings can use a bit more sauce, but still very tasty. We will definitely be coming back again for the cool atmosphere and delicious food.

The food (I had the mac and cheese) is excellent. Drinks, great. We were a big party and we were seated very quickly and food was quick to come out, but the service was BAD. It should not have taken 20 minutes for our party to figure out whose check (and change) was whose. I should not have to track down the server in order to make sure that everyone had their bill. I warned them when I made the reservation that we were all paying for our own meals. While I don't expect everyone to be served AT ONCE, there were a couple people who didn't get their food until many were halfway through their meal. Beyond the service hiccups, it is a great place to eat and drink. I will most likely be back.

Great nacho appetizer! Generous portions and expedient service from our waitress. I got the 12 hour roast and it was excellent. Hearty beef with good flavor. My friend got the footlong grilled cheese flatbread and it was huge! Overall a great experience and we will be back.

We came here a number of times during our stay. My general consensus is that the food is good, though pretty standard pub fare. Their signature foot long grilled cheese was more than enough for 1 person. Service was OK. Seemed hit or miss. Not consistently good or bad. It got loud, crowded and less enjoyable during the weekend.

I was lost and suffering the night of the BTS concert. It was getting late and Ubers weren’t choosing me. It was also. Uh. Freezing. Wind. Sometimes rain. But tons of wind! My friend and I just needed somewhere warm where we could rest and at least get some food. Like an angel, or a bright star in the sky, The Scout found us. Thank goodness we were 21+ because it’s the only way to get in at such a late hour. We were so hungry we completely bypassed the drinks, and I’m sure they’re good. We went straight into the food. The chicken nachos. MAYBE were the best nachos I’ve ever had. It’s quite possible. Or I was in pain from hunger and anything would’ve been good. But we’ll go with the former. It was amazing and filling and tasty. The chicken was perfect. Really shaved down, but some pieces were chunky and lumped together. The guac was so cooling and the chips themselves were the right size and crunch. It matters. Trust. Everything went together so well I didn’t even need salsa or hot sauce. And the tater tots we ordered were spot on. Very simple but spot on and just what we needed. Again, it’s a shame I didn’t finish everything but know in my heart that I would’ve. It was just. That. Good. Especially after a fun night, a meal is the next most important thing!!!

But I guess it’s a good way to make an extra buck from bad math to be honest. If wanna come here, it’s not a bad place at all, but not my first either.

The food is decent and it's a nice place in some ways, a good place to watch sports. But it's way, way too loud - like being at a loud party. The two of us had to shout across the table to hear one another. Not just music, it's the acoustics of the place. They need some sound-absorbing surfaces.

Scout is a go-to spot for a central location sure to have great food, great space, loads of TV screens showing every sport imaginable. Parking can be challenging at times but if you're familiar with the South Loop you already know how to find the best spots. The Foot-Long Grilled Cheese sandwich is a must try and so are the Pot Roast Nachos. Great beverages as well. Highly recommend!

We came here for a special event, brunch with Grey Goose. We had never been here before and we had a great time! They serve burgers made with locally raised farm beef, bacon-wrapped Angus meat loaf, and signature grilled cheese sandwiches as well as other sandwiches and brunch items. The interior has a rustic cabin vibe. With beautiful wooden bars, cross beams, tables and chairs, the decor is reminiscent of a hunting lodge. The eatery seats around 200, has 24 flat-screen TVs, and has a semi-private area in the back with it's own bar. A sidewalk patio is open in good weather. In the back of the space, there's a semi-private room with three 50-inch flat-screen TVs and it's own bar for small gatherings. At the front of the space, there is booth and long-table seating and another bar. The food that we had for brunch was excellent! We dined on chips and guacamole, eggs benedict, pot roast eggs benedict (my favorite), tempura green beans, their signature grilled cheese, pulled pork, buffalo chicken and short beef sandwiches as well as rustic flatbread. We enjoyed great drinks including: La Provence (Gray Goose l'orange, aperol, strawberry and peach purees, champagne foat) La Vanille Creamy Martini (Gray Goose la vanille, five farms irish cream) La Vanille Coffee Martini (Gray Goose la vanille, Patron XO Cafe) They have a large variety of drinks from bottled and draft beer, to cocktails and wine, something for everyone. This would be the perfect place to have a drink or grab a bite to eat and watch a sports event, meet friends or family and enjoy the casual laid back atmosphere. I know that we will be back here again!

Was greeted almost immediately when we got to the restaurant at 6:30 on a Tuesday. Atmosphere was lively and music sometimes louder at times having a hard time talking over it. We ordered 2 specially beers and they were great. Food took a little longer to come out when the restaurant wasn’t really that crowded. We all got fries and they were barely warm but interesting with the batter method the use to make them crispy. Two of us got the beef sandwich the meat on both sides should have been combined to one side for the amount of bread. One ordered the house burger - pretty good and one ordered the fish and chips which was a crazy large portion very good. Bread on all sandwiches was a little stale. We were entertaining a nephew from out of town and was a little embarrassed with the quality of the food - I didn’t want to take him to a pizza place to make Chicago so cliche. Would possibly return to give it another chance, but would definitely not order the same sandwiches.

Updating my previous rating. Just visited and my party was seated immediately and then immediately ignored. After we got water we spent 15 minutes without any service and left. After tonight I don't see why I'd be back. We saw servers coming to other tables but after not even being told that they were backed up or that someone would be with us shortly we didn't feel the need to stay. The Scout has always been one of these overly loud places where you have to yell to be heard but the food has been good to great and I live near by. I've given them the benefit of the doubt as they've messed up multiple phone orders (often making us wait at the restaurant while they cook things on the fly) but tonight was pathetic. It's alright that I've always had to yell to talk to my group. It's okay that it smells kind of like mop water. But a total lack of service is another level.

I was wary of this bar because it was a high-traffic evening, so I called ahead to see what type of interaction I would have. Walter, the stellar manager, answered the phone on a busy Memorial Day weekend. He promised me a reservation despite not having my name, so and I assumed he was b.s.-ing me. To my utter surprise and disbelief, Walter totally delivered, and his phone demeanor matched his in personam demeanor to a tee. My server, Karen, was beyond awesome, so I bought shots for her, my guest, and me. I love this place, and I will definitely come here again.

Do not come here! I came with 50+ people from my firm and no more than 30 minutes in they accused one of our only black staff members of stealing wings (which he was not). After an argument one of the patrons used a racial slur, yet they tried to kick my coworker out instead of the individual using the slur! We all ended up leaving and they lost, no kidding, a least 1,000 dollars of business. Horrible establishment. Do not go here. Alcohol and mediocre food with a side of racism.

Had the flatbread pizza it was delicious! I came with a big group I requested to have separate checks but that didn't happen. Nowadays businesses need to understand that most people don't carry cash and everybody pays were credit cards (for point/miles) you really need to do something to accommodate customers needs and being able to accommodate separate checks.

OMG this place was amazing. We were planning on going to Five Guy after the Auto Show but I saw this place and said we should check it out. I really liked the name that's why I said let's go there. We ordered the pulled chicken nachos and wow they tasted amazing. Fries and burger out of this world. Super great service I would recommend to anyone.

This place was extremely rude and very disrespectful. It was raining outside a lot, the bouncer asked me and my wife for our IDs, so I attempted to get our IDs out and apparently as I was getting our IDs out, we were "blocking" one of the doors while I was still trying to present our IDs, just like the bouncer had asked. The bouncer hastily pushed us in through the revolving door because apparently we were in the way and made a smart/rude remark as he hasted us through the revolving door. When I attempted to speak to the manager, the bouncer confronted me again inside and was extremely rude and aggressive with me and my wife. The owner/manager without question, failed to listen to my complaint about how his bouncer was too aggressive towards us and proceeded to ask us to leave without any reason. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. They are a disgrace to businesses and do not value their customers. I am ashamed that a place like this exists in such a modern and forward city. Please avoid this place if you have any questions about it's validity. You will not regret it. The pizza shop across the street is much more welcoming.

While the food here is great the service is probably one of the worst I've ever experienced. From the moment I got there to when I left the entire wait staff was gossiping and chit chatting by the the host up front. I watched my waitress with her back turned towards the entrance with a bored look on her face check her watch and phone several times while looking at the empty drinks and plates on our table, doing nothing that I eventually had to tell over for the check. Never got a hello, never even knew her name, never got a refill on water, when she took our order she said "are you going to get any food?". The servers here seem more interested in hanging out then providing good customer service. I even watched what seemed to be a manager just flirt with the group of 5-6 servers in the middle of the dinner rush. I had a view of the host area my entire dinner and working in restaurants myself I've never seen so much literal hand on your chin leaning on the counter bored or gossip girl behavior during the middle of a dinner service. Insanely unprofessional and I won't ever be back. Really sad our experience was so bad because the food and drinks were great. But they need to re train their servers and hosts and get people who want to be at work. It sucks feeling like you're annoying your waitress because she doesn't want to be at work. But besides all of that - their beer list is pretty short and pathetic for boasting a "long list of beers".

I like this place it wasn't terrible. I got the footlong short rib grilled cheese...because why wouldn't you. I think it could use more tomato soup dip and be a bit less greasy from the buttered bread. I couldn't find enough napkins to get the grease off. The service is a bit slow on the refills and it is stupid now a days that they can not break up a table in individual checks. The menu has a decent amount of choices, but it's mostly bar food.

Instead of apologizing right away when I told her I had ordered something else she replied, "Really?" Yes, really. She did go back and place my order correctly but I of course had to wait while the rest of my party ate. She was nice but staff should be trained to write the orders down.

However, my friends frequent this spot and swear by it so I'll be back! Location is perfect for folk coming from different areas of the city but parking is a problem. If you can't walk then Uber!

The Scout is awesome, and not just because of the excellent food, generously-poured drinks, friendly bartenders and servers, and lively atmosphere. We were visiting Chicago from Michigan and enjoyed a great evening at The Scout. Upon returning to our condo afterwards, my wife discovered that her 3 carat diamond ring was missing from her finger. Panic and tears ensued, as we were sure this very expensive gift from her adoring husband (me) was gone forever. Alas, on the outside chance that it had fallen off her dainty little finger the prior evening, we called The Scout as soon as they opened the next day. They had the ring! A bus boy had found it and turned it in to the owner, who held it for us until we could retrieve it. Totally class act on the part of the team at The Scout!!! We love this place, and you should too!

Decent food, drink selection is also good. Was here for a 30th birthday and the staff went above and beyond to take care of us. The manager even let us set up in a small private room and didn't charge anything for it's use (although he did remind us that he wasn't charging a couple times, which is tacky). All in all a very nice establishment to visit.

Awesome place. I ordered the salmon entree and tuna tartare appetizer; both were tremendous. Drink selection is great as well. Nice ambience, with outdoor seating (love the flowers on the rail, nice touch) and also lots of TVs inside. It was a cool experience being here during the Women’s World Cup. Owner and staff were kind and welcoming. Great spot!

Other fantastic options are the Wolff grilled cheese, adult macaroni & cheese, chili, and sweet potato fries. Good local bar. The beer tap selection is not great. They should get more local beers on draft in my opinion. Good place to watch a game. I would stay away from this place during home bears games. Lots of ticket holders pregame there and its jam packed. Go right before kickoff when the pregamers leave.

The food and service here are great! I try something new every single time I've been here, which is 3 times now, and this last time was the best. Definitely go for one of their foot long grilled cheese sandwiches, you won't be disappointed!

Large open seating with patio. Most entrees we ordered were a bit spicy without saying so in the description. We enjoyed the atmosphere with our family, but went during happy hour and it was quite loud!

I've been here a few times now and the service has gone downhill and fast. We entered the establishment and were half greeted and left to wonder if we were to find our own table. I had to tap the host and pose this question. The gentleman takes us to the closest table and when we ask for a booth he informed us we can go grab one leaving the menus right there on the current table. Strike 1! Next, we try to order a drink from the micro font menu. I gave up and ordered a whisky sour. I receive my drink in a tall glass (not a rock glass) and it is completely yellow. I give it a sip and it tastes completely like lemonade so I sent it back and order a glass of wine since my friend's drink was completely weak as well. This is not a first. For this to be a sports bar, plan to only get a buzz from wine or beer. The bartenders are the worst in the city in my opinion. At any rate, my wine comes to me in a dirty glass! Not only is there lipstick on one side of the glass but both! You have got to be kidding me! To add insult to injury at 1:20am the waitress/hostess brings the check without asking if we would like anything else. Ok fine we will pay and take our money elsewhere. A little Before 1:30 am they turn up the lights, turn off the televisions, and start stacking chairs on every empty table. This caused the few couples inside to pack up and leave! What a sight this should be for the owner. This establishment needs a crash course in hospitality but I won't be returning to test how it turns out. Sad because this place is in the heart of the city I love but is mediocre at best!

Walked in and left because the music was extremely loud and I don't like that. If you like that, you might like this place. Did not try food or receive service, so they get three stars because we didn't experience the full thing, but super loud music is worth docking two stars off the bat for me

I use to love this place. But after being served warm beers and not getting what I ordered I was severely disappointed. Told the staff nicely one bar back was sympathetic, but his manager offered no solution. I never complain about food service. But warm beers, bad service and over priced sum up this loud over priced locale. Maybe I'll give them one more chance, but I'm weary and perhaps you should too!

Sweet venue, just the kind of place you can go to watch a game, meet a client, or grab a bite with your partner. Totally affordable and really great customer service, I had a blast watching a UCL game this past week while unexpectedly waiting for my car to get fixed and couldn't have found a better spot to chill out with a few cold one's. Totally recommend you check it out as it's totally worth it!

I went here before going to a Bears game. We arrived seven hours before the game and were met with terrible customer service. Specifically the hostesses. They were rude and the first thing they told me was that they couldn’t guarantee me a table. Before they even said hello! I understand that it was busy but there were multiple tables open. Regardless, we waited and were seated 30 minutes later. High points were the food, fun atmosphere, and the fact you can track where you are in line to get seated on your Yelp app.

The food and drinks were great. I had the plank salmon and it was cooked perfect. The salmon wasn't dry and the Mac and cheese with chicken was great also. Comfortable outdoors seating.

Nice bar in the south loop. Near public transportation (red, green and orange line trains) good bar food reasonably priced. I will visit again.
