This Restaurant is classified in the category of Pancake restaurant.
Location is off the main road tucked away in a residential/commercial area. Had to park along the street. Once inside, the atmosphere was excellent. Portion size was much larger than we expected so we left full with plenty of leftovers. They offer military discount which is always a plus so extra star for that. Excellent service and great food.
This is my First time visiting. Before then, I passed by it, about 5 times, 5 different days; and I said to my children, "I will try them out one day". I did, finally; I like the food, the freshly squeezed orange juice, the peaceful atmosphere, and the professional fair staff, and the down to earth scenario. I enjoyed myself, with one of my adult children, and my minor. They two, had a lovely time.
Great Breakfast at this place. Every time we eat here we are very pleased with the service and staff. The crepes and pancakes are perfect every time. Recommend anyone try this food!
Placed an order to go. The eggs looked microwaved, the bread was soggy, and the potatoes were wet. We normally go to the Rockville location and have never been disappointed with the food. Maybe the cook in charge at this location was feeling lazy that day. At least the gentleman taking the order was polite.
Excellent experience! Portions are large, but extremely good. I ordered strawberry waffles and they were outstanding. Very diverse menu and there is something for everyone. They even have a lunch menu.
Great food choices, fresh strawberries. Great staff and atmosphere.
They have really good Swedish pancakes, prepare to wait though, its usually crowded. Fast n friendly service, no complaints!
Awesome service from Chris
Glad for pendind expansion. Food was great. Server was good and kind.
Tasty food. Very generous portions, you definitely won't leave still hungry
Every OHOP Ive ever been to is absolutely delicious! Service was great, and prices werd decent.
I had the eggs Benedict and it was the best I've had and almost too much.. Service was fast and good.. Prices fair.
Server was friendly, host had poor annunciation to the pt where he was difficult to understand. Crepes were delicious though
Good, quick service and good food! Bit of a wait, but that's to be expected. 10/10 would recommend
Food was great. Service was wonderful an kind.
Its ALWAYS great here. The food is outstanding, with that said you can expect a wait on the weekends but its definitely worth it. Use some common sense, it called Original Pancake House because the pancakes are the best, so be sure to get some pancakes, it's not called waffle house or omelette house, if ya know what I'm sayin.
Another great place for breakfast. It was a little pricey but you get a good portion.
Great food
It has been around from years. I wish they stayed open longer because people do enjoy breakfast for dinner The french toast always a great choice to try and the bacon. Bacon bacon bacon lol.
Food was excellent, but $25 per person for breakfast is exorbitant!
Overcharged for meal and the manager just shrugged his shoulders. Does anyone else think that a plate of 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties and 2 pieces of French toast should cost $18.95 plus tax?
Best breakfast spot I've ever been to
The food I got was good...but I ordered Canadian bacon with my meal and they were out ,so we agreed to substitute ham. It was plentiful, but salty to my taste. Otherwise would have been 5 stars
A long wait on the weekends but worth it for the excellent food and service!
Awesome service and great food! Manager came out and let us try the new "bacon jam" that they hadn't put on the menu yet, went above and beyond to make the experience great! Would definitely recommend.
Great breakfast! Steak and eggs were superb!
The Rancheros were pretty good, my friend had the strawberry waffles. I kept eyeing his plate, but overall everything was really good. The staff was friendly, very helpful on picking top 3 choices.
Great food. We had the cherry crepe and the apple pancake. Both were delicious, not too sweet but huge portions. The coffee was really good -- I'm used to fresh ground coffee from an aeropress and this is the best diner coffee (and among the best drip coffee) I've had.
Food was good overall, but pancakes were thinner than expected. Waiter took the change from my bill as a tip without me specifying to do so.
Food was plentiful. The eggs were rubbery and dry. The hash was crispy and mushy
This is one of the best breakfast places in the city. The line can be out the door at times, so its best to go as soon as they open up around 7 or 8am. The food is worth the wait. Some of the waiters are outstanding and some are just ok...
Always a great place to easy breakfast. Clean restaurant & expedient service, good food
Always great! Consistently excellent. Probably my favorite breakfast spot in the city.
Awesome food and great service and a friendly place
I thought this would be better... So disappointed. Some food that takes a little longer to cook like the Dutch baby your encouraged to order something else because it takes 20 minutes.... I won't be back but thanks anyway
A great place with excellent service
Excellent service! Pricey but worth every penny. All portions are very plentiful.
This is not a place to go for cheap food. But if you want the best, this place is for you. The bacon is thick. The hash is amazing and the strawberry crepes are filled with fresh strawberries and real whipped cream. There is no canned or imitation cream here! Well worth the money spent.
OPH is always a solid choice if you want a good, large, breakfast. Pretty affordable considering you can probably get two meals out of every plate. Some very unique pancake choices along with other more normal breakfast items. Lunch/dinner menu is adequate as well if you're not looking for breakfast
Delicious pancakes and they always seem to have perfect strawberries, no matter the season.
Great food and service.
Good service and great food
An old staple where you always have great Breakfast with multiple choices on the menu
Awesome breakfast place. If you love breakfast food this place is a must. Their food is delicious and their service is great and quick.
Best place for breakfast Sioux Falls! Food is great.
Expensive, cheaper elsewhere for the same quantity. Free parking underground with validation.
Pretty damn good. Love the fact that they serve a damn excellent chicken sausage.
We visit when we can. Love the Dutch baby. It takes about 20 minutes to prepare but it is sooo worth it. Apples in cinnamon and butter baked in a cast iron skillet with pancake like batter. It is a Apple upside down pancake. Yummy
Great place for breakfast or lunch! Great service and the bacon is awesome! Worth the wait if you go on a Saturday or Sunday
Love this place. Friendly atmosphere. Excellent food. Their community spirit is commendable every year on Christmas day when they open only for the homeless .
The food was and is absolutely incredible, i highly recommend eating there. The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming, and the food is made with fresh ingredients.
Pancakes are solid happiness. And Original Pancake House sells them. This place makes them fresh, hot, basically the size of your head, and mmmmm buttery. All butter. And the portions are enormous. As in you will have enough for a second breakfast.
They was really nice food excellent I love the waitress
The food was awesome as well as the the service
Had the chorizo scrambled eggs - delicious! My daughter has Celiac and they had tons of gluten free options for her. She loved the pancakes.
Great service and wonderful ambiance
Pretty good breakfast food. Can get crazy busy, especially on Sunday, so expect a wait. Definitely try the Dutch baby when you go.
This is such a wonderful place to eat. Great people work there & are so kind, considerate, service minded. Thank you for always having the best apple pancakes!!!
Great 6 egg omelet.
This use to be good food years ago. The food was bland & not tastey. The staff were friendly.
My husband loves the bacon...
My parents would bring me here when I was a little girl and this is still my favorite breakfast spot hands down. Their food has stayed the same. It may take some time to get your food because the place is always packed but it's well worth the wait. The pancakes are the absolute best. The omelets are always great and you never feel skimped. And I even notice some of the people who worked there when I was a kid still work there today. I love this place, it's like going to visit family.
LOVE their pancakes! Always great food & friendly staff. Weekends usually have a little wait but it's well worth it.
I loved the wonderful breakfast that I had with my sister at the original house of pancake Bethesda. The pancakes with strawberry and the waffle were amazing and yammi. The service was fast, friendly and excellent. Definitely back again
Tasty food, and large portions. It can be hit or miss though, specifically with service. Today was not so great. We received the wrong food, had to wait while the error was corrected. No comp given despite how long we had to wait, and one order was still incorrect. Waitress was inattentive.
Consistently delicious no matter which city I have OPH!!!
These are still the best pancakes on the planet!! The service was great too.
Good quality food great service from the cashier to the manager to the server. A great price point will definitely be back and bring friends
2 of us waited a half an hour for eggs and pancakes while watching other people come in, order and receive their food. Very disappointing.
The food there was fantastic! Didn't expect much but the pancakes were light and fluffy and the southerner omelet was great. I prefer to go there over IHOP any day. Will go again!
Everything you expect from a pancake House. Nice thick bacon cooked crisp, hot pancakes and syrup, fruit and lots of coffee. Anytime we're in town we go there. Quick, friendly service.
Wonderful family place with grandsons With great food and service
This place has always been a favorite of mine for years. If you don't know what to get, go for the Junior Platter (pic below). It comes with 3 buttermilk pancakes, and a choice of sausage, bacon, or an egg for the side. Pair it with a large, fresh-squeezed orange juice and you're good to go. It's usually busy on weekends, and while parties could be waiting a bit, I think it's worth the wait.
We love to stop in an try different dishes. The omelets are amazing, so light, fluffy & filling! Just be ready, the portions are good size. The chicken caesar salad is really good & fresh. But you must get anything pancakes, crepes, waffles....they do it all and sooo GOOD! This is a great location for breakfast. The food is always excellent quality. I am a fan of the french toast :) Top 5 French Toast I've had, and definitely the best breakfast place in Sioux Falls
Good food but not cheap
Great food - very pleasant server.
Staff is friendly, very clean and the food is definitely very delicious and worth the price. My boyfriend and I come here every Sundays after I get off work. I definitely enjoy this place .
The service was thorough and somewhat quick. It was something going on with the staff behind the scenes, with what appeared to be management. That threw me off a little because that needs to be contained to an office. Your guests should never witness discord.
Do not visit on a Sunday morning or early afternoon. The place is a madhouse. Great food, good staff, and good menu options. My dad is in love with their omelets.
The pancakes were great, however the portion size was small.
Unsatisfied with service and prices. For what spent on 3 people was the equivalent of 35.00 per person....could have purchased all ingredients including the cutlery for what was spent.
Excellent pancake house, nice, clean, spacious & ample amount of parking.
Excellent pancakes and great service.
Amazing breakfast place, huge portions and great prices!
Very nice
I love this place! The staff is friendly and the breakfasts are amazing! Always hot and served with a smile.
The parking is in the lot of the adjacent plaza. We were seated quickly. The waitress was nice and the service was prompt. The food was delicious.
While the wait may be long, it's worth it once you're seated in Bethesda's finest pancake restaurant. I am impressed nearly every time I eat here by the quality of the food and the expeditiousness with which it arrived. On a personal note, you simply cannot go wrong with their chocolate chip pancakes.
Love the breakfast here! Look forward to the pumpkin pecan pancakes every fall. A side of whip cream is a must!! They have the best whipped cream anywhere!! There omletes are huge and the best anywhere as well. Weekends are packed!! Worth the wait. Weekdays are calmer. Eat here at least once when I come to visit.
The best breakfast place in Bethesda! Been coming here since high school. I recommend the nutella crepes or a good ole plate of french toast. It's always packed and the ambience is lovely. The staff are wonderful. Only complaint is that you can't buy the adorable Original Pancake House shirts that they wear!
They really need to remodel their entrance/exit. It needs to be much larger and much wider so people can move freely and they need to make a more obvious area to queue up. It was like absolute insanity on a Saturday morning
Generous servings and nice plating @reasonable price. Too cold by waiting area. Server could be trained a bit more so as to not appear stretched too thin.
Best breakfast food in town and great service!
Placed an order for myself and my coworkers for breakfast. The food was delicious and we enjoyed it very much. Everyone I interacted with was very gracious and friendly. This is a favorite place of ours from now on for breakfast orders. Thank you.
OMG their omlettes are to die for
Their Apple cinnamon waffles are the bomb! And they're freshly diced apples on top (not canned apple pie filling) with a delicious apple cinnamon syrup and whipped cream on the side. Yum!!
Food is amazing for a great price...and staff are always friendly
Very good food but very expensive. We always went to the same chain in Chicago and everything is $2-3 cheaper.
Good food. A little pricey. Would be nice to see more lunch options.
Good food, Good FUN and AN AMAZING FOOD SERVER.... Miss. LaTasha.... She Totally Rocked
I love this place, always great service!1 Coming here once a week is a must for me!
I did not have the pancakes here however I did have eggs grits sausage and toast which was extremely good. My knee seem to like the pic in a blanket however nobody really had the pancakes I like my pancakes just a little less fluffy the service was just okay but the food did come out fast. We had a hard time finding our waitress what we wanted to go otherwise it's a good place to go for breakfast if you're in the area of downtown Bethesda
The food is always the best
Great food, great service, great atmosphere
Good food. Excellent service. Well pleased here as always.
Good pancakes in the heart of Bethesda!
Great food and waitress very nice. Be wary that food can take a bit for breakfast. Omelettes and pancakes can take 40 mins to come out.
The is great here. Would recommend eating thete.
Always a good choice! Great cakes and wonderful
Good food, not great, but lines on the weekends during brunch hours are intense.
Honestly they really do have the best pancakes I have ever had. They are amazing and I recommend them to everyone. It can get busy in there but they do a good job during those times. Their service never falters no matter what. And I would like to give a shout out to Tristan our server, his service was amazing and he is a crazy hard worker. Thanks Tristan!!
It's a hood legend. Unfortunately that sometimes leads to lackluster service. The gentleman who leads you to your table chose the worst one in the place for me. It was clear that he was trying to spread the wealth among the waitstaff. There were more desirable tables at the back of the restaurant but they weren’t offered as an option to me. My order was taken and I waited. After ten minutes I got my orange juice. After 25 minutes I got my dish. Thank goodness the food is good. The French Toast is exceptional and they know their way around an egg. I’ll go back but I’ll always be aware that you roll the dice when it comes to service there.
Breakfast doesn't get any better than what you will get at any of their locations. They use the highest quality ingredients. They even have real heavy whipping cream for your coffee. The king of their offerings is the apple pancake. I have never experienced anything like it. It is not cheap but it easily feeds two or three normal people but it is so good that I have to have it all to my self. If you like apple pie, you will love it. If you love apple pie, you will think you died and went to heaven.
Best pancakes ever! I have never tasted syrup like that in a restaurant. My grandma used to make syrup on the stove that tasted like that. The turkey bacon was the absolute best I have ever tasted. I honestly enjoyed it! Great food. The service was good also.
Quality food, prepared quickly, served by friendly folks. Really enjoyed our visit. I always look for something I've never seen, and the Irish omelet fit the bill. My wife should have ordered the short stack of pancakes; only ate 3 of the 6. And the bacon! You won't leave hungry!
One of the few breakfast-centric places in Sioux Falls. It's a good thing it's good! Great bacon, great pancakes and quick service. Expect long wait times, but worth the wait.
While traveling for family vacation we stopped for hearty breakfast and were SO pleased! Gluten free accommodations with a smile and some of the best food and service we've encountered! Do NOT skip this local gem you'll be happy eating great food in super atmosphere! We absolutely loved eating here! Has great menu for those with GF allergy!!! We definitely enjoyed our delicious food!!!
Food is always good, but the floors and chairs are usually dirty with food bits or other things. They could really benefit from using a dust pan and broom.... it’s a new revolutionary device made for cleaning
Great...better than IHOP...will never visit IHOP again unless I have no choice...Anything 24hrs breakfast never taste nice
The hot chocolate is to die for. They put chocolate chips in the bottom and it melts like my heart does when they bring me my giant plate of food.
Great Food! Excellent service!
Great breakfast spot in Bethesda. Definitely gets packed on Sunday mornings so get there early. Breakfast burrito was great and of course the pancakes are delicious. Had the omelet as well and it was well worth it.
Food was great! Tristan our server was the BEST!! So friendly and energetic, definitely loves his job.
Truly the best breakfast place in Bethesda. Pancakes are great. Waffles good and the Benedicts are just perfect.
Very good food. Great service. The only down side to this place is it is always very busy.
Been here several times. Everyone I've taken has been pleased, although it's not an ideal spot for a low-calorie breakfast. The apple pancake is amazing, and well worth the wait, especially if you want to split it with someone. It is a lot of food (1600 Calories!). I've also had the butterscotch pancakes twice, but they were very different the second time I ordered them. While both were good, my first order came with whipped cream (not from a can) and seemed better overall, while my second order was "simply" pancakes with butterscotch chips and butterscotch syrup. It was still good, but it didn't knock my socks off like the first time. Probably just a different crew in the kitchen.
I've been here before. I really enjoy the food here. We went for my niece's birthday. The server was nice. They came over and sang happy birthday. The food came out hot and delicious. Great customer service.
Food good service was nice a little pricey
The food is great, the service is efficient, and the wait time is very reasonable. I am never disappointed when I go to this establishment!
The 49 flapjacks are the best. Great service, good food.
Almost greater than getting intimate good beyond yummy to extra tasty rather you dining in or taken out I have memories forever here I liked it back then & now plus they are extending the places good family Vibrance crowded expensive but worth it join me in the challenge of trying all on the menu its heaven!
I guess you're paying for the fact that it's in Hyde Park because it's definitely overpriced.
It's always consistently great! Service is also the best! We love Going there often.
Food was delicious and the service was friendly and everything was clean . I highly recommend this restaurant!
Some of the best crepes I've ever had. The service was also great and quick. I came as a tourist and I can definitely recommend it to anyone going to the museum of science and industry as a breakfast stop.
Great experience very friendly staff and the food was great
Best pancakes in town. Fast service, plenty of coffee refills.
Very tasty Breakfast. Small crowd on a Wednesday morning.
Good breakfast
Easy to find, graft service and good food. Tough to beat.
By far one of the best breakfasts I've ever eaten while out. Bacon was 11/10. Will absolutely be back
The pancake is ok but the crepes could improve it's texture.
The food and the service was very good.
Food was great. My 4 year old loves pancakes now! I had poached egg and applesauce- which was also great as I just had bariatric surgery 3 weeks ago and there aren't many healthy food options eating out.
The pancakes might be to some folks liking...but not mine. In my opinion, pancakes and waffles should be light & fluffy and slightly sweet. You shouldn't have to add syrup if you don't want to. Their pancakes were doughy and heavy and a little thick. No sweetness whatsoever. So the server swapped it out for a "half waffle" and much to my dismay, it was the same. On the good side, my eggs were scrambled to perfection! The bacon is top quality apple wood, thick sliced and full of smoky flavor and the hash brown were the standard fare, but decent. I hope they correct the batter issue, cause I'll be back.
The sausage n bacon omlett was great with grits n raisin toast
This place has thick bacon, freshly squeezed orange juice, and delicious chocolate chip pancakes. All the things I need for a perfect breakfast.
Amazing Customer Service Food is Incredible
Really expensive for 2 sandwiches. Hash browns were so so for a side. Side of potato salad was very small. Breakfast is good when we have eaten it. But the calories will ruin all good eating habits.
Good service and food
Perfect place for small bite and/or Great big breakfast! Potato latkes are stellar and are a must eat
Great food, atmosphere, and friendly staff.
Huge portions, regular American breakfast food, kinda greasy, restaurant is a little dirty. The kind of stuff you'd expect at a pancake house. Its great to take kids and family to, and great for a hang over. But it's nothing to go wild over.
Love the Dutch Baby and Apple Pancake! Great service, delicious food. Never had to wait for seating, but we get in early. A little more pricey, but well worth the whole experience.
The food was amazing, and the employees were super nice and welcoming!
Fabulous food, great staff, many gluten free options. Wonderful experience.
Great service, great portions for the price, good atmosphere. I gave a 4 because some of my food was not hot.
LOVE this place. Great coffee and easy to stay on diet by ordering egg white omlette! Nobody does it better!
Awesome breakfast! Great place to meet family and enjoy a great meal. Love the bacon and pumpkin pancakes.
First time eating here the food was amazing great portions and the food was delicious tasting. The price was good for the portions. Although the good was delicious the service was bad I didnt even get to finish my coffee before the server was trying to get is off the table Not sure if I would go back.
So fun! A lot of options, but I went with apple and pecan crepes and they are the best thing I have ever eaten!
Jane is qn amazing lady appreciated by many, thanks to all the great hardworking staff!!!
Wow - it's not often that I don't leave a really good tip, much less none.
I had eggs scrambled work meat and veggies, and some pecan pancakes. Food and service were both very good!
We have been going here for over 20 years. We love the staff and the food is very good. Be prepared to wait during peak times, especially when the weather is good.
Best pancakes I've had. Omelettes are 7 egg! VERY busy, which is because of the great food and service. Staff are very efficient and good for the amount of space and customers they have to deal with.
Awesome staff and food . A definite go-to for business or friends as a for sure to like breakfast spot.
Food is ok prices are a bit steep for small size pancakes. Pancakes taste like the batter. Overall experience was decent. Parking is horrible!
Amazing pancakes and other food all the time.
Me and my boyfriend always go here and the food is always good. The pancakes are always amazing and fresh, plus the waiting staff is super friendly. The only thing I don’t like is how close the seats are together. It gets especially uncomfortable when the place is busy because people are sitting close enough to hear your entire conversations.
Good flapjacks, okay service. Thirty minutes for a cinnamon roll is a bit much, though. I gotta feed the diabeetus.
Amazing service and delicious pancakes! The coffee was amazing and it's fresh ground! Will be a regular stop when I'm in town.
The best hands down! Also their menu is very different than any location you will ever go to! The staff is amazing
This is a Hyde Park treasure. The food is always fresh and excellently prepared. The manager and wait staff are friendly and you typically will not wait long for your food.
My favorite breakfast go to for over 40 years.
Don't go to IHOP again: this place is similarly priced and serves similar food but it's nicer in every aspect from fresh cream for your coffee to homestyle syrup for your pancakes
Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. The food was cooked exactly how I asked for it. Largest 6oz breakfast steak I believe I have gotten from a restaurant. Good view of the courtyard. They offer outdoor seating as well as window seating or both. A little pricey for breakfast food but worth every penny. I would recommend for anyone in the area to check this place out.
WORST OPH IN AMERICA!!! While the quality of food is definitely consistent with other stores in this chain, the service here is truly dismal. My last two visits, I was served by two different bitter female servers, nothing like a grumpy face and an even worse attitude to start your day. This last visit violated my 10-minute rule, if I am not approached by a server within 10 minutes of being seated at a table, even if to just say, "I will be right with you," I get up an leave. Unfortunately, this location also just received the third strike, so I will never go back. Every restaurant can have a bad day, I completely understand, but three bad experiences in a row, removes them from all future consideration for spending my disposable income. Such a shame, as my wife and I seek out OPH restaurants when we travel, or as in this case when we are moving to new cities, as they are a favorite consistent choice. There are a few other locations in the greater DC area, all of which have far SUPERIOR service.
Quality breakfast done right. Clean. Good service. There isn't a bad item on the menu. They have an entre called "Crazy for Bacon" in case it isn't obvious, it's a mountain of bacon with some eggs and pancakes. Sundays, get here early or you're going to wait. It's totally worth it. ;)
Great place for pancakes and good service also great Belgium waffles
Great food and I have a great waitness.
Food was great, Fresh n Hot, menu choices were ok. My dislikes we're the lacking menu choices that certain choices didn't come complete with a side meat and you had to pay additional to have such a choice to what would seem natural to include. 2. I didn't like feeling rushed to complete my meal I went during mid morning after 11 and although I knew I had already set a time frame to be done. My server seemed rushed for us to finish although there were plenty of open and available table for any new patrons coming into the establishment. Didn't like that at all.
Love this place!! Dawn is a great server
Great food. Great service. A bunch of us meet there every Wed at 7 am for breakfast and conversation.
I love this location. I eat breakfast and brunch here all the time, and even ordered catering for a holiday bruncehon for my employer. The food is always great and the staff is so helpful and nice.
Good service food serve hot and is delicious.
Great food. Great service. Always delicious no matter what time of year.
Absolutely amazingly delicious. The strawberry crepes had real strawberries and the hashbrowns with my Eggs Benedict were very hardy. The waitress always asked more than once if we needed anything and the service was fast. Overall, the resturant itself was easy to find and was clean inside. It felt very cozy inside with nice big booths and I would definitely come back.
A bit busy but worth the time, always delicious and service was great!!!
i went here when going to alantic city beach for breakfast it was good
Great food, great service.
The Original Pancake House is consistent with providing breakfast staples according to traditional taste. I dined with two family members who enjoyed their meal. The pancakes were buttery & fluffy. The Turkey Bacon was not over nor under cooked. A lot of restaurants tend to do one or the other. One of the diners had some kind of carbless selection with bacon & sausage. She said that they were both good especially the sausage. The service was great! The waitress was attentive and listened to our small requests for two types of coffee creamer and to cook the hashbrowns crispy. The owners made a very wise decision with the expansion of the dining area. There is a lot more seating than in the past. Although it was a Sunday morning the wait was brief at best. Upon exiting I noticed the sleepy heads in the waiting didn't have that look of despair from prolonged waiting.
If ingredients were all organic 5 stars. I like it here!
Friendly staff great place to eat at
They have awesome food, big portions and great service even when there crazy busy.
They have a varieties of Brunch menu items & I would say average quality & large portions. Service was poor. We have to wait for too long to get orders delivered though no many people in place. The waiter would not bring things straight away. She waist time talking to colleague.
Amazing food great service!! Highly recommend!!
The OPH is a favorite! Everytime we are in Sioux Falls, we have to stop. The bottomless coffee, massive omelets and scramblers always keep us coming back. The portions are huge, good enough for two meals at times, and the food is SO good. It is worth your time. It's busy, but it's worth the wait. Two thumbs up!
Excellent food and service!
Best breakfast restaurant in Sioux Falls hands down! I love OPH great services as well literally my cup of coffee didnt get below half a cup
I love OPH!
Good service, but awful food. The coffee is burnt (how when it is their primary drink) and the first glass of water tasted like there were chemicals in both mine and my Fiances. We asked for a new glass and it tasted fine but still. Eggs were awfully undercooked (requested medium and barely got easy) buttermilk pancakes were microwaveable at best and small, bacon was actually really great quality, home-fries had weird taste. Won't go back to this location.
Best place I've ever had breakfast at! Will definitely be back!
Great pancakes!
This place used to have very good food but now everything is just average to me
Different flavor pancakes are delicious. All of breakfast favorites, in one place. Get there before closing, 3pm.
Food was okay I just don't believe it's frozen potatoes which should be freshly cut & I don't believe it's real egg...n their Carmel french toast wasn't all i thought it would be... Food very blend, I expect better considering the price
It took an hour and food was not even that good
The food was super good with great gluten free options but the whole floor was disgusting. It was covered in food scraps and garbage.
This is a great place to have breakfast or brunch or lunch in dallas . The place is big , spacious and the menu has a great selection of pancakes, omlettes, even has turkey bacon for the non pork eating clientele. Service is great and prices reasonable .
I went kind of close to closing time. The meal was pretty good but my waitress was MIA and part of my order was missing.
Excellent food at a great price!
We almost exclusively come here for breakfast now. The service is great and food is even better.
Food was good but the service was slow
Attentive waitstaff, good coffee, reasonable prices for a good amount of food. Will definitely come again.
I have eaten a lot, a lot of pancakes. These pancakes are some of the best I've ever had anywhere. First time visiting this location and the corned beef hash was excellent. My wife had the breakfast quesadilla and that was good as well. Will definitely be back for monthly brunch with the kids.
Recommend this place for good food, service and larger than average portions. There is plenty of parking available in the building. Staff is ready to seat people and take orders or even explain parts of the menu. Had a scramble that could have feed two people easy, regular breakfast cooked to order, all good. Everything came out at once, hot and tasty.
I’ve tried this place twice now and I’m sorry to say, it wasn’t a good experience either time. This morning I thought I would have a leisurely breakfast while waiting for an appointment. The hostess was friendly and I was seated immediately. The waitress took my order immediately. That’s why I gave two stars rather than lower. It took about 30 minutes to receive my food, in which time, I never saw my waitress. I had to ask someone else to check on my food. The seasonal special of baked avocado eggs were very disappointing. The eggs were still slimey and whatever the greens were on my plate were neither appetizing nor eatable. They were cut pieces with stalks and were crunchy, like they were baked. I can’t imagine they were intended to be eaten. They were mixed in with the feta, so I had to pick around them to eat the feta, which was supposed to be sprinkled on the eggs. On top of that, the place has a weird smell and the bathroom was not the cleanest. One of the two toilets was clogged. Oh yeah, I also ordered a short stack of pancakes, and they were slightly under-cooked. Not a good sign for a place that has pancake in their name.
Absolutely fantastic place for breakfast. Bacon is the best bacon you will have anywhere and the service is served with a smile. You cannot miss this place.
Amazing variety of food and service! There is no end to the original breakfast delights offered. I decided to have something new, the most delicious Cinnamon Sugar French Toast croissants with toasted almonds! It was everything I wanted, just the perfect amount of sweety, crispy, nuttiness topping tender croissants. My server, Yelep, was so attentive and management was very friendly. Any family would find this Bethesda based, hidden gem a perfect place to enjoy a delicious breakfast cozy,on the inside or in bright, outside cafe. Very convenient to Double Tree Hilton hotel as well as many other destinations.
Their menu was super overwhelming. There's so many options to choose from and it's mostly words. Once you decide what to try it won't take too long to get your food. Even when it was dang near packed full they were quick and the waitstaff was all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. No one at the table of 6 had anything bad to say. The coffee was good and hot. They had several varieties of syrups. And at the end of it all the total wasn't bad! With tax it was around $10 a person for a filling, sit down, homestyle breakfast.
Wait staff are always very pleasant. The resturant is service quick and it's super clean. The pancakes melt in your mouth.
Simply delish! Manny our server knocked it otta the park. Tasty food, full beverages & stellar service make for an experience to be had again!! Thanks!!
I ordered the chicken crepes and my husband ordered Irish omelet. The food was amazing and very tasty. My family enjoyed it. Our waiter was very pleasant and helpful. FYI the food portion is a lot. So make sure to go empty stomach, in order to finish
I ordered one egg over easy and hashbrowns. Everything was cooked perfectly and I had enough hashbrowns for 2 more breakfasts!
So good! Always love my visits there!
Excellent food excellent service little pricey though but for a restaurant near downtown Chicago it comes with the territory
. The food is very good
First time having apple cinnamon oatmeal from scratch. It was soooo good. All the staff I came into contact with was very nice.
The butterscotch pancakes with the butterscotch drops...OMG!!! Not too sweet, absolutely perfect..Great service from pleasant hostess and very attentive waitress Delphine
Waited for over 10 mins before we received service. Would have NEVER made a review but when I pulled a GIANT PIECE OF CHUNKY MELTED PLASTIC from my food, they gave me a discount of $2.99... visit was July 14th whoever that manager was... gross, shame on you.
Great food, good service. Got in & got out!
Awesome place ,always busy, worth the wait
Tastyyyyyy.. The blueberry sause is a bit too sweet for me, but overall great service and great dishes
Food is good. Pricing is ok. I figure cost is for the food quality and the area in the restaurant lies. Always busy. Some staff are friendlier than others and sometimes the wait can be a bit much. I feel in the end, the pros out weigh the cons and its worth a try. Good is fresh and delicious. Just catch this place when its not as crowded, and u'll enjoy ur visit.
Service could have been better.
Not a calm Sunday breakfast but good food. Good variety for family. Virtual line app speeds up the waiting because there is almost always a wait. Service is a little uneven.
Though always busy, great customer service and good food
Loved it, kinda jammed with a lot of tables and chairs. But the food was awesome I actually went there twice in one week.
Always delicious and wide variety. Be prepared to wait in weekends.
I go to this restaurant a lot and I enjoy it. However the food isn’t anything to write home about. It’s your standard dinner fair and that is all it is trying to be. So if that is what you want then get in your car, take the Uber, or walk to this dinner that won’t disappoint.
One of our favorite spots to grab breakfast. There is normally a bit of a wait and Sundays are especially busy, so give yourself some time. The food is fantastic. The omelets are massive and the waffles are equally huge! Fresh coffee and great service will make this one of your favorites as well. I strongly suggest the Irish Omlette with aged cheddar. It is perfect for those big eaters.
Very nice place, well kept and run like a tuned machine. Everything we ordered was excellent and cooked to order. I could eat the Jan Scram every day!!! Will be coming here again the next time we're in town.
Best eatery I've ever been to!!! Friendly staff, fantastic food ... I'll recommend it to everyone!!!
An absolute must stop for breakfast if you are in the area! Actually, who cares where you live...you have to go!
First timer, and the food was amazing. There was a little hiccup with mushrooms but the waiter got it all fixed and everything was great.
Indeed it's the original pancake house! So much on the menu can't be mentioned here! Big portions so I was glad I came hungry, left happily stuffed! Go early for better parking & shorter wait time. If you have to wait you'll be glad you did! Bon appetit!
Very very good. Polite staff. Great management. Food was wonderful. Place was clean.
The food, including the pancakes, were good. It's very rare that I go here because I'm not near a Pancake House. However, this is always a good treat.
They're always the best pancakes!!! But can we please start serving avocado?
My favorite is the souffle omelets, but heads up- they're huge.
The wait was well worth it, I took my daughters there and instantly wanted to tp Perkins for their mediocre food. I got some pancakes and an omelette the size of my head. They tasted so amazing I almost was upset with friends and fam for not insisting I go there! I took the omelette home and made two more meals of it! Amazing place.
Good food, fast service. Bright, busy atmosphere. Enjoyable with friends. However, $$$
Food was wonderful! Would have been 5 star if the service was better
Very good breakfast spot
The best place for breakfast. Great service and atmosphere. So many breakfast choices. They even have several kinds of gluten free pancakes.
When I came here, I thought it was IHOP
One of, if not the, best place in town for breakfast. There's a reason this place is always busy, but even though it's busy, the service is always top notch. I give it 9/10 bacon strips.
Simple diner based space, not complicated. Lots of breakfast options, what I got was average or above average. This place was popular though, expect it to be packed on weekends and holidays. Also was relatively cheap for the amount of food you get.
Everything was so good!
Janet did it again! This is why am I on my favorite place to go for breakfast in Sioux Falls. Great food great service and great coffee. The blueberry pancakes maybe the best in the country. There's usually not too long of a wait to get a table but even if there is a short wait it's worth it. Highly recommend!
Food was amazing and our server was on everything. We even got to go cups of syrup. One of the best places I have been. They even had gluten free options that my husband enjoyed.
Nice food
A nice place to eat.
Holy heck. The portions are HUGE here. They have gigantic crepes; big, fluffy belgian waffles; and of course - mouthwatering pancakes. There's loads of fresh fruit and cream on them too. I can't recommend this place highly enough. One of these days, I'll try something savory from this joint, but for now the big, sweet, puffy loads of dough are good enough for me.
Great location.. They need a better quality of eggs..
Waitress was great! Swedish pancakes with lingonberry awesome. 1/2 an order. Also half order of oatmeal. Still brought half the pancakes home! Person at next table had steak and eggs. Looked wonderful! Next time?
This place is wonderful! The food will not disappoint, and the staff is friendly and always refills your coffee and drink orders quickly. However, you might have to wait 30 minutes or more due to the long waiting list. It is worth the wait, but if you have a large group, then call a head to see their wait times.
The food is amazing and I had so much pancakes! Worth it.
I truly enjoyed my Blueberry Waffle Breakfast
good place, no surprises
Biscuits and gravy and the Dutch baby are delicious!
Great service! They even had good options for gluten/celiacs options. Food was delicious!
The wait was about as expected to get a table. we placed our order and watched as others around us were seated. Theirs orders were taken. A mother and her child who we had seen visiting with the lady at the front was seated behind us about 15 to 20 minutes after we sat down. I was surprised that their food came out rather quickly. Our server came to the table several times to say our order would be up soon. We did finally get our food as mom and child were leaving. Surprise! The pancakes were cold. You'd think they would be able to get pancakes right, they're in the name! The only thing that was said from staff was that they got a little behind. Yeah, I'd agree. Total time from walking in the door to leaving, 95 minutes. Bring a book!
One of if not the best places for breakfast. Just assume there will be a wait, they are always packed. The staff is decently friendly, coffee is great and the food is delicious and plenty. Highly suggest biscuits and gravy.
Love it! Just wish they had the Tuesday special from last summer. If you could somehow get it back to the menu, it would mean the world to me!
Great food and service but wish they would have vegan plant based pancake options.
After a night of drinking, really anything here is great
Delicious as always. There was a misunderstanding with my order but waiter made in right and did it quickly. Management compensated us for the delay. Large quantity of food luckily warms up well for a second and third meal. Highly recommend !!
Always incredible food with friendly service
It's ok
Best breakfast and service in town, by far! Usually a wait in the mornings, but definitely worth it.
Enjoyed my visit. I will return next time I'm in town.
Good food. Menu needs additions, deletions from time to time.
Pancake House is very popular. They have good food and excellent service. My friend and I had coffee. We were served immediately and she kept our coffee cups filled while we were there. You can eat breakfast there at all hours. They are open until 3pm.
Best breakfast food ever! Top of the line for quality.
Definitely never! Fake processed ham! Fake bone in. $60 for breakfast! Not!
So disappointed with my recent door dash order from this establishment. It lack presentation from what appears on the website. I had an order for about nine people and only two were pleased. I placed names in the special remarks box to label orders and it was delivered without in multiple boxes. Next, some of the food was under cooked. Also, my waffle look more like a hotdog bun. This will be my coworkers first and last purchase at this restaurant.
Fast service, great food and the location is close to many amenities
Food looked good and taste good-syrup little watery though
Friendly..prompt service. Good food.
They have expanded the space, which is great.
Great breakfast selections and great service. I would travel out of my way for another visit here.
Lots of great breakfast food at a decent price!!!
Great service! Love the bacon, best ever! Really, all the food was great
The service and food was Excellent! It was crowded, but yet we were still seated right away. And our waitress was pleasant and gave great service. Would definitely go back the next time I'm visiting Chicago.
The food is always delicious. It's cooked to order, so it seems like it takes forever to arrive when you're hungry. But once it's delivered to the table, it's worth it
Great food and service. Just don’t park across the street in the parking lot. We came out to a boot on our truck and a 170 dollars fine for parking in the Dunkin doughnuts parking lot
Was there a week ago and saw a mouse run across the floor. Went home with a stomach ache. Will not be going back.
Good food and always, always busy.
The food was delicious and our waitress was friendly and very attentive. When I stopped in it was very busy but she was right there taking our order and checking on us. Have been here before and will definitely stop by again.
Great variety of items. Definitely a step up from your usual breakfast! Would easily recommend to folks
Decent breakfast but the restaurant needs major updating.
I love their food been going for 30 years. However the prices are going up but the amount of the servings are less.
Fantastic food, reasonable price, best place for breakfast.
Do online reservation....very small waiting area. Cinnamon apple waffles were great.. Hash browns not so much. Server was so so.
So i was there yesterday first time ever going, i had the worst experience ever i waited all day for my food and when my food came i saw hair on it.I was already upset due to my long wait then for me to see hair on my food really upset me more, then when i notify the manager on duty Carl about my food he was super rude wasn’t apologetic about my experience. I just want you all to learn how to train your employees everyone needs to wear hairnets and reconsider who you all put in a position of management.I would never eat here again for the record and i will notify all my friends and family to never come back again.
I didn’t like the service. Food quality was good.
Love the food!!!! We got the strawberry crepes, the huevos rancheros, chocolate chip waffle, Western Omelet, the works, french toast works, and the avocado toast. Everything tasted great! Also, prices are affordable! We celebrated my birthday and the waitress got me a Mickey style pancake!!! We had a blast. Highly reccomend it!!!!
I was surprised at how crowded this place was. My friend and I had a fifteen minute wait. The food was served piping hot. The waitresses were friendly and efficient. There is a general parking lot with several stores. The Pancake House does not have its own. It is rather noisy, just indicating that patrons were enjoying their meals. Clearly, not an intimate setting. Good food. Good time.
Don’t bother standing in line for sub-standard food, hurried staff and an owner who treats his employees poorly in front of customers.
This is a chain, but it is not necessarily prolific. Here is the thing, for a really good breakfast, if you can find one, this is always a solid choice. I personally like the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon from here.
Wonderful breakfast. Best pancakes I have ever had. I really wish they had more locations especially in the west.
Great service, amazing food!
I've always made OPH a staple go-to when I'm back in town.. not many breakfast places could compare, in my mind.. My complaint here really isn't the quality of the food. I get the same thing every time and today everything was fine.. not especially great but not bad by any means. I got "Everyone's Favorite" which includes 2 eggs, 2 bacon, 2 links and choice of pancakes or toast - of course you choose pancakes!! I opted for banana pancakes with the blueberry syrup (because that's my fav) Now, I don't remember the pancakes being as small as my palm but whatever. My complaint here is the fact I paid extra for bananas that was never mentioned when ordering, but not only that, I paid for a literal bunch of bananas that I could hardly see or taste. Nearly two dollars for a couple sliced bananas in three small pancakes. Laughable.
Great service and wonderful food.
Great food, great service! We're from out of town and were looking for something different then the everyday chain resteraunt . Glad we found this place! You can tell it's great food by the amount of people waiting to get in. I highly recommend OPH if your in the area. You won't be disappointed by the food, portions, or service.
Everything was great, ppl and all...... just didnt like their style of hash browns. A plus across the board though on everything else.
Waaay to much food!! My stomach is about to pop after eating just a humungous omelet.
I have never had a bad meal here
The staff are friendly and fast, the blueberry waffle was good, but other than that this place is not great. It's one of those shops at ground level of a cluster of office buildings, so it's hard to find. Also hard to figure out where to park if you are not familiar with the area. The sides are really overpriced (I go to a lot diners). The coffee is acrid. My first time ever seeing soggy/slimy corn beef hash and it was so salty I couldn't finish it, which sucks because it alone cost more than $6.
Shot of the apple pancake. Pancake House has fantastic menu. All breakfast faves really well done. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Stay away from seats at the door. Service was quick and friendly
The food and service is not like a typical restaurant, it's more like you're eating at home with someone cooking for you who really cares about you.
Excellent breakfast joint, they validate parking in the garage and watch out they close at 3pm. When our order was I complete the manager gave us a gift card, so top notch marks on customer service.
Very poor service employees just standing around while we sat at a table waiting to be acknowledged in for the price and that you have to pay for parking b cuz there's nowhere to park so your total for eating and parking not worth it and after all that experience there I still tipped and let's not think that I won't pay for parking but the food in the service has to be worth it PS I have to walk up to a manager to finally get service
Bland food. Not worth the wait
I loved this place the staff wad friendly and very curtious. The atmosphere was family oriented.
This is a great breakfast spot. Always busy but the food is always fantastic. The Dutch baby is worth the wait.
Very good breakfast. Get there early
Always the best food and always the best service. Top notch staff and top notch management.
Awesome, nearly legendary menu of delicious foods! Rarely disappoints
Fast service, we ordered our food and we had it in less than 15 minutes.
This restaurant is very busy and very good. The wait staff is efficient and polite. The food is delicious. The wait time for a table is very short in most cases.
The employees working there had good customer service, I had no problems whatsoever it was okay, I hope to come back again.
Always excellent. My daughter gets headaches to cinnamon and didn't realize it was in what she ordered. The staff specially prepared her her dish without cinnamon.
They have a wide variety of breakfast options from their crepes to their waffles. On weekends they only serve breakfast. The lunch menu also has lots of options to choose from. Service is relatively fast and waiters/waitressescome around often and refill drinks. Nice staff and a good meal!
Good food nice services and better then average food. A little pricey but the make up for it in the amount of food you get. A place you must try. Great creeps.
If you are in Chicago, you need to come here. The food is amazing and the price is great for the quality and portion size. I highly recommend this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
Delicious food! Terrific service- Latisha was super friendly. Best meal we had in Chicago this weekend. Clean and many food options. The pancakes were some of the tastiest I’ve ever tasted. Eggs were good and the Dutch baby was delicious. Worth the wait.
Ever since I passed it by almost a year ago, I've been dying check this place out! And now that I have, I can say that I'm absolutely obsessed! It has plentiful seats, kind waitstaff, and our food came quickly! I ordered the caramel French toast with a side of salami, and my boyfriend got the strawberry French toast with a side of cornbeef hash! He LOVED the hash and I couldn't get enough of the pecans in mine! My boyfriend and I highly recommend the Pancake House!
The Restaurant was not crowded yesterday morning. The Server was a charming, delightful young woman. The food was slightly overcooked and the atmosphere was a bit loud. My companion and I still enjoyed our experience there; it is both a place for a good business meeting or for having a hearty, reasonably priced meal with family and friends. No one and no place are perfect. 4 out of 5 stars is a good grade. I recommend this Restaurant and will visit it many times again. Philip Davis, PhD
The food is consistently good. In general the service is great. They definitely NEED TO IMPROVE ON THE HOSTESSING STAFF REGARDING SEATING. It is currently lacking order. They are consistently not seating people in the order they arrive. We arrived with a party of four and our name was place on the list, then another group of four that arrived a while after we did, had their number called and was seated ahead of us. This happened on different visits. I complained to management and was told it would not happen again , but I'm not very confident that it won't. The most irritating part is on each occassion the hostess/host did not seem to care and had a bit of an attitude. Three separate individuals.
Whenever you want tasty waffles without a messy kitchen or dirty dishes this is a great place to go. Maybe not as good as the waffles your mom makes but definitely better than your mother-in-law's. Wonderful wait staff too.
Banana & pecan pancakes were good. Thick sliced bacon was delicious. Keep the hash browns. Nice service.
The sausage gravy and breakfast potatoes were odd tasting. The coffee was too strong for my taste. The service was great!
Very good food at a reasonable price. Service is quick for this tightly packed venue. I feel they should have more booths for dining.
Solid, tasty
These waiters are the best anywhere!
This place deserves every accolade it's received. Not only were the food and service top-notch, the staff + decor created the most wonderful atmosphere which made it quite hard to leave. ☺️ Even tho there's bound to be a wait and they're not open much past noon, I cannot wait to return.
Great service, excellent food. Senior meals are just the right size and price.
Great breakfast and excellent service. Loud and bustling!
We used to go here often, but our last visit was a disaster. They are putting peanut oil in the pancakes -- but we had to ask to find out about it; in an age of allergies, this seems absurd. While we were ordering, the server walked away as we were mid-sentence and had to be called back to the table. When the eggs finally arrived, they were literally raw -- runny and clear on top; this is potentially a food safety issue (and appears in other reviews, in yelp). Our experience was characterized by awful service and terrible food. It is a shame that such a great place has gone so badly down hill.
Always a great place to go. Been a patron for years even before it's current location. Get the apple pancake. Your appetite and sweet tooth will thank you.
The food was soooo good and our waitress was soooo friendly. You can't go wrong with this place.
The best breakfast in Chicago! We had Build you own scramble, blueberry pancakes, hashbrowns with added onions, thick slices of real bacon, & endless cups of coffee. Everything was delicious, fast & hot! The service was excellent in a neighborhood restaurant where the atmosphere was friendly & busy.
Excellent food! Excellent service!
I LOVE this place! The food is always great and ample servings! Gluten Free option are amazing! Staff is super friendly and patient! Wait time can get a little excessive but the food is worth it! <3
Really solid pancake place. I've been to popular pancake restaurants in several cities, and this is the only one I have gone back to for a second visit. Huge portions, kind staff, and really tasty pancakes. I also really like the patio seating in the plaza with all of the landscaping. A great pick for a classic breakfast place.
Portions are huge, omelette eggs super fluffy, bacon slabs are thick and wonderfully tasty. Service is also great.
Great food, decent price, and fast service
Very good BLT . Great service
The food is good in a old school Chicago restaurant. Only problem price to high for a breakfast spot. Some better places near with better prices
It was okay we sat down got our drinks but after that we waited about 20 minutes for some one to come to our table we ordered our food and it was about 45 to an hour till we got our food actually no one stopped by our table at all during that time, food wasnt anything to call home about
Best place for special occasions...visiting family
The food is is always good, and the portion sizes are almost always enough for 2 meals. The menu, which already had a great variety, has been expanded in the last year. The newer dishes include some unique twists on classic breakfast dishes (Huevos Rancheros, eggs Benedict), and of course pancakes, waffles, and crepes. They also have a growing number of lunch items, but I rarely order lunch items when they have so many great and creative breakfast dishes!
Always super delicious food delivered quickly by very happy people!
Always great food and service
Always yummy! Good service
Expansion is great! Food just as delicious!
Food is always excellent.
Awesome reasonably priced food! The service was good too.
Ones of the best chain breakfast restaurants in the world. The food is awesome and the portions are big enough to share. I love the omletes and the french toast. You must try both.
Excellent breakfast/brunch place! The food is simple and well-made. The service is polite and efficient. I recommend you sit outside, under the trees in the back, where it's much quieter than inside.
The food is great and the portions are huge! Some of the seating is kind of out in the middle of the floor, but that's a minor detail. Love the food and the service!
The food was delicious and the server was very kind. Highly recommend!
Went on a Saturday at 7 am, so that’s before their peak hour. Nobody was there to seat me. One of the servers told me to set anywhere I wanted. I did and waited 24 minutes without any service so I left, I’m not going back. I went once before and the oatmeal was good but the coffee is ordinary.
Great service and probably the best pancakes I've ever had
Great potato pancakes. The restaurant is expanding! Remodeling will be finished soon.
Food taste so good
Delicious food at reasonable prices with tremendously friendly service
Not really sure why the lines are so long. The food is not good and it had a piece of hair in it
My scrambled eggs had block cheese that wasn't even melted and my bacon was burned. Probably won't be returning.
Good taste, bit expensive, attitude could be better by some servers. Overall, a nice experience
It was a busy restaurant for a Friday noon. The pancakes were excellent but the grilled chicken sandwich was bland.
The best place in this country for breakfast. The food is great and the prices are most affordable. The waitstaff is not surly or neglectful. In fact they are quite friendly and welcoming. Eating here was a most pleasant surprize.
1st visit, last visit. Started with a hostess who was not welcoming. She practically ran to the table, put the menus on the table and was briskly walking back to the hostess stand before even got to the table. I asked her where our table was, she pointed and rolled her eyes. The waiter was fine, but the blueberry pancakes tasted fermented. When we told the waiter he didn't apologize or try to offer to fix it. Also, there were awful smells where we sat. The last smell was of mildew. The tables were too close to other tables.
Good food, friendly service, good atmosphere.
The food was amazing! I loved it a lot epically the waffles! The wait time is ok, and the decor is alright too. People who eat outside had no worry about bugs eirher. And the eggs were fluffy and bacon was crispy and yummy and I was very satisfied. Had great and friendly service and will come back again if I can!
Yummy food...great service!!
Great food and service.
Brought there by family, was stupendous. I had strawberry crepes, ooo la la fantastic.
Fast service at reasonable prices. But food wasn't cooked to order. Asked for medium cooked eggs in omelet, was cooled too hard. Soft cooked omelet was medium
Good food and great service
Great service at the restaurant and the food is always tasty. We come here for brunches on the weekends.
Very Good and decadent food , excellent service. Pancakes, of course, are way above medium rate. Coffee is good. Pleasant and peaceful place.
TRY the STRAWBERRY PANCAKES
This place is HORRIBLE! The food is good but they don’t even use gloves to cook the food. The management is poor and you can tell by all of his employees. I wouldn’t ever recommend someone to work there. CARL is one of the worst managers there and it definitely reflects with how most of his employees are. I wouldn’t recommend anyone working there unless you like gossip because that’s all a lot of the employees do there. I wouldn’t recommend anyone eating this food UNLESS their ready to eat into germs because that’s all this is.
Food has been consistently excellent over the last 20-plus years can always count on them highly recommend as a go-to on anyone's list
Went for brunch on a Sunday and service was great and fast. We were seated right away and food came out quick. I got the caramel French toast, which was AMAZING and the turkey bacon with eggs. Definitely a place worth checking out
Lots of great options for every kind of eater.
Great pancakes and breakfast burrito!
Nice breakfast spot. Love love the fresh squeezed fruit juice
More often than not, I enjoy visiting The Original Pancake House whenever I'm in Bethesda. The breakfast is reliable, hearty, and there's a great atmosphere throughout the restaurant. My only complaints are that the restaurant has scarce seating and waiters were very insistent that we leave immediately after our plates were bussed, which we found a bit brash.
Pancakes where deliciously fluffy, told the waiter about ten minutes to get to my take, which was weird because there was only a couple tables occupied.
My waitress Cat is superb, she takes damn good care of the customers...
Good food, great atmosphere. Always great customer service from workers who have been working at the pancake house for over 15 years. Good to see a company with a low turnover rate especially for waitresses
My wife and I recently moved to Sioux Falls. We decided to have a breakfast out and we went to the Original Pancake House. The food was excellent. Everything we ordered was prepared very well and tasted great. The staff was friendly and helpful. We went to the restaurant at 8:00 on a Sunday morning. It was not busy and we got right in and seated. By 9:00 as we were leaving the place was packed; the entrance was standing room only and people were patiently waiting. I can understand given the quality of the food and the staff. We have been back several times and try new items from the menu each time. Nothing has disappointed.
I ordered an omelet and it was humungous, I mean massive!, it looked more like a torta, it was dry, overcooked. Sorry but what a disappointment, I'm never coming back, although I've been wanting to try it for some time. Way over price too!, you are better off at Le Madeleine, just around the corner.
Bad food and somehow even worse service.
This is among the best breakfasts I've ever had. Bacon is thick cut and excellent, pancakes are perfect, and the hash browns are the best I've had at any restaurant, period. Seasoned perfectly. I ate everything on my plate.
That fresh squeezed Orange Juice tho!
Great service and amazing food. It's not any more expensive than chains. Ask for Faith. She's the best.
Expect a short wait to get a table. The help is very friendly and pleasant. The food is higher priced than all other breakfast places in the area but its always good and comes out fast.
Usually a great breakfast spot but the last time I was there my skillet was almost cool and i had to send back to reheat. A little pricier on the money side for just breakfast but to be fair the quality is a step above, and they have the best pancakes I've ever tasted. So if you don't mind spending about 16-20$ per person for an a.m. meal this a good pick. Service can get a little sketchy when busy as well.
My wife and I love this place the food and service is great
The pancakes are amazing especially the cinnamon kind, if what premium out of this world pancakes and breakfast food this the place
5 stars...nothing else needs to be said!
Great food and service
My whole meal with them was pretty underwhelming, which was a big disappointment because I was really craving some good pancakes the day we went. Our waitress took 30 minutes after dropping our drinks off to come back and place our order. It was a busy day so I didn't dock points for that, I docked points for the bland unseasoned food. My companion enjoyed his Apple Pancake, that was the only saving grace for an otherwise shrug your shoulders meal.
Reminds me of the family breakfast restaurant that I used to love in Idaho. The service is good and friendly environment.
If you love pancakes or waffles this is the place! There are very friendly and their new way of waiting tech informs you when your time is ready. I even love the sound of the hustling and busting remind me of a typical NYC venue.
Amazing food and service. Waitresses never let your drink go empty
Nice brunch spot. Ordered eggs Benedict and their crepes. Very fulfilling.
The food and service is amazing! I literally go for the veggie quiche. Although it is always crowded, we're always seated right away; However, we are usually in a party of 2.
Awesome place. Surprised.
Great pancakes and just as great waffles. We came with eight and were easily seated. They have a lunch menu, but I would definitely recommend doing breakfast there.
Our meal was fantastic and we where treated like family
If it looks like a pancake tastes like pancake than its a great tasting pancake
The Greek souffle omelette is amazing. I've never had eggs like this before. Even their Toast is great. A bit spendy but very good food. The service is just like 90% of restaurants in sioux Falls, average.
Awesome food and service. I loved the gluten free pancakes and the all meat omelet with jalapenos.
Atmosphere is great, super service, really good at very decent prices. Our family THOROUGHLY enjoyed it....and a shout out to our server Delphine for surprising our daughter a birthday treat
Not easy to find classic pancake spots in the dmv. This is one of those place where you can get affordable and delicious food. Every Sunday.
Great breakfast, real bacon!
Great family restaurant. Friendly service and great food
loved it .cool staff.tasty tasty pancakess....crayons for kids timepass
Server was excellent and brought us everything we requested in a short amount of time. She was friendly, food was delicious, hot and they have large portions. My entree wasn't out right away, but the server brought a small bowl of fruit while I waited for the entree.
Not great but not bad. If you're looking for a decent place for breakfast on the weekend. I suggest call ahead seating if available as the wait tends to get very long on the weekend.
This was the perfect brunch location for our group of 8!!
It was okay. New decor and setup. No senior menu anymore guess they have pay for the new decor!
Food was very good and super large portions! Is always very busy and usually have to wait to get seated but there's a reason people stick around and wait.
Great place for breakfast. Love their grits, firm but creamy. Eggs, pancakes, bacon, everything is good. Highly recommend
This location was VERY good. I normally take pictures but at the time we went I was starving and pretty much slammed once my food got to the table lol. This was the first place that had coffee that was perfect (other places make their coffee too strong). The bacon was cooked to perfection and not super crunchy or fatty. My Waffle with strawberries and whip cream
Positive experience here - took only 15 minutes to grab a table for 2. As for the omelette, they substituted ham instead of bacon for me. It was HUGE! Likely the size of my head. They also provided me a ton of jalapenos with no charge, unlike certain restaurants to be unnamed. Coffee was refilled frequently, and the waitress was extremely courteous. Positive experience yet again with the OPH!
To pricey for a breakfast meal period!!! I ordered a platter [3 pancakes, 4 chicken sausage and 2 eggs] all a part of the plate.. for I believe 11.99?? I also ordered a cup of hot tea and fresh strawberries with whip cream....the cost 24.00 The food tasted ok, nothing to brag about and, the sausage links were cooked really, really well done. Will think twice before having breakfast there again
I love visiting the original house of pancakes. This location was sweet!
Decent coffee and food. Prices weren't too bad. They also validate your parking which is nice.
Food was great. It took a little while but it's to be expected as they are very busy. The waitress was very sweet and efficient.
Just a good as the locations I've visited in California and it was a very pleasant surprise to find an Original Pancake House in South Dakota! There were two strange things.... the German pancake was not on the menu. When I asked about it the waitress looked at me like I was from Mars, but after describing it to her, this location apparently calls it a Dutch Baby. The Dutch baby was delicious, but appears to be a smaller version of the German pancake available at some California locations. Also, and i think this was just a fluke... but I was the only customer in the place and I had to wait like 5 minutes to get seated... not sure what was up with that. All in all though... delicious and a pleasant surprise to find one of these in Sioux Falls.
Went to The Original Pancake House today for breakfast. I got two eggs and three pancakes to go because it was extremely crowded. I had to wait about forty-five minutes for takeout. Maybe because it was a Sunday. The eggs were fine, but the pancakes tasted like Auntie Anne's pretzels without salt -- weird taste and weird texture. I would probably go back for a sit-in meal at some point because I suspect it was crowded for a reason.
South side stand up.....well done. Great spot
Food was great, very generous portions. Our server was very outgoing and prompt with everything
Always five stars. The best strawberry crepes in the WORLD!
ONE OF THE BEST BREAKFAST PLACES IN THE GREATER CHICAGO/HYDE PARK AREA! A LONG TIME STAPLE IN THE COMMUNITY FOR DECADES AND WITH IT'S MUCH NEEDED EXTENSION TO ACCOMMODATE IT'S PATRONS, IT'LL CONTINUE IT FINE TRADITION OF EXCELLENCE!!!
With the exception of the Honolulu locations The Original Pancake House keeps a standard of cleanliness, prompt service and good food at reasonable prices and the Bethesda location did not disappoint.
They do have delicious pancakes. Be prepared for a long wait.
I love this Food! I love the staff!!! Superior Experiences..... Bravo!!!!! I had to post My FAVORITE WAITRESS ....Ms. Yvette aka Ms. Kat.....she is the best! Ask for her .... CHICAGO is doing great things
Excellent food, wait staff was very helpful and friendly
I have food allergies to gluten and soy and suffer from ulcerative colitis. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. Even the bus boys were friendly and attentive. Zed our waitress made sure my food was correct and did not touch other food for cross contamination. The general manager chris took extra time to come to our table and answer all questions and he was very helpful with obtaining ingredients and assuring me that the grill was not contaminated with soy and gluten. The food was amazing and I will be visiting the establishment again hopefully very soon.
Stopped here for breakfast on a business trip. Food and service was great!! We liked it so much we went back the next day! Where else can you get fresh squeezed grapefruit juice?
Very nice people, great food! Especially the crepes are recommended!
