Stopped in on a Friday evening to have dinner with family. This was our first visit to The Marq and came in because of its’ proximity to our hotel. The six of us were greeted and quickly seated. The Marq has a cool vibe, comfortable seating and a decent menu. Our server was friendly and facilitated a great dining experience. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and everything tasted great!

Once I discovered this place I've been looking for a reason to go back every week! I love their broccoli. They put a splash of lemon and garlic on it and some bread crumbs. Very flavorful! I've enjoyed my salads here and tomato bisque soup is great. I didn't enjoy the fried chicken sandwich I had there this week. It was very messy, with a spicy sauce and something with the consistency of honey that dripped down my hand as I ate it. I ended up pulling it off the bun and eating it with a fork and knife. One of my favorite things about this place is the atmosphere. It's casual, but still very appealing to business meetings or work outings. Overall I'm impressed and still keep coming back!

First of all, this place is GREAT all around from service to food! I was on a budget and of course I needed it ASAP bc it was a last minute request. I called and Sean helped me meet all the needs and made our Partner dinner spectacular. It was a real pleasure working with him and he literally relieved the anxiety I was about to get. The Partners emailed me the next day to say "Thank you again for putting the dinner together last night! It was perfect!" Thanks Sean for helping me hit this one out of the park! See you next time. I definitely RECOMMEND giving them a try!

Booked this restaurant for my manager and co-workers who were attending a conference in Chicago. They were seated in a lovely area where they could both eat and mingle. Food and drinks were great and the bill was way under our budget. Sean handled my reservation and was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend the Marq!

I can not rave about this place enough. Our experience was amazing from start to finish. Our server was wonderful, the managers were present and continuously making sure the guests were taken care of. We even were helped by the manager on directions to our next location and given great advice. The food was everything we had hoped it would be and more. My husband and I will definitely keep this restaurant in mind next time we are in the area.

We ordered a poutine which is good, and it became the only thing I like that evening. Then I ordered a vegan sugo, it is not very tasty, taste like just put tomato sauce on the pasta. The veggies and mushrooms jackfruit ragu described on the menu seems not existing in the dish.

The food here is good and competitively priced. The fries are amazing and the jackfruit BBQ was so good I thought about giving up meat forever. Usually had plenty in seating at lunch time although check ahead if you have big party. Also the sausage of the week is probably worth 52 visits

The food was fantastic! Great menu and great selection of beers. The only problem we had was towards are waitress not provided the best service. We think our waitress wasn't attentive because they way we looked and dressed (we had been at the water and air show for the whole day). But the Manager was very friendly and he was way more attentive than our waitress and he provided great service.

For some reason the whole time I thought I was at a hotel restaurant. They had my friend's all-time favourite wine, pictured. They have "samosa" which are described in the menu as "wontons" which made my other Indian friend and I laugh out loud and we ordered them to see which of the two they were (spoiler: wontons). Whatever, it was fine with a group for drinks

Great experience from start to end for the entire staff. Started with the Old fashion ,fried Pickles, the ceviche and the wontons were amazing. For the main course I had the fried chicken sandwich with had an amazing spicy and sweet taste. Great for business or personal gatherings.

Went here before a show at the CIBC theater, and it was a terrific choice! Interesting range of food options that worked for a group of diverse eaters. Service was professional and friendly and the interior was elegant but not too fancy. We tried the risotto, bbq jackfruit sandwich, vegan suga, greek salad, fried pickles and the Marq burger. Everyone loved their food, and you can add falafel to the salads which is awesome!

Great spot to go for a meal or a drink, especially if you have to be at the federal courthouse downtown Chicago. I recommend the Greek salad as well as the Marq Burger. Looking forward to heading back soon, hopefully after a favorable decision for one of my clients across the street!

Sanwiched right next to the Revival Food Hall, this small restaurant is a great spot to grab an artisan sandwich and local brew - or interesting cocktail - and watch the parade of people pass on by. Relax with a few friends and enjoy the large bar or comfy tables, especially near the window! Service was a little slow on a Saturday afternoon, but maybe I shouldn't be in such a rush. Definitely will be back to this friendly place.

I tend to go here pretty often because of its proximity to my office. The food is good and the wait staff can sometimes be a bit slow. If you're not in a hurry, it's a nice place to have a simple meal.

I have eaten here a dozen times and food is really good. There are good options for vegans and vegetarians, including gluten restricted diets. It's not a large menu so be sure to check it out before you go, especially if you have particular foodies in your party. The atmosphere is lively after work hours and a little difficult for a large party to communicate with each other, but pretty normal really. I recommend the mushroom risotto. Very nice. The wine list is adequate for the food offered, but the spirits selection is sort of limited. I give it 4.5 stars for food. And 3.5 stars for options

I went to The Marq for an early dinner and it was busy with the Happy Hour crowd. We were seated quickly, however. Our server was prompt and friendly. He walked us through the menu and brought us drinks. The onion rings were really good. I had salmon and enjoyed it. We had an incorrect side item delivered, but it was quickly corrected. I'll definitely eat here again.

A great dining experience from start to finish My friends and I grabbed a number of the starters including the fried pickles, poutine, and salmon ceviche. The show stoppers were definitely the croquettes and the chicken won-tons. The croquettes are a vegan option and were delicious. My favorite was the won-tons, crispy with a great filling and a sauce on the side for just a little extra. For my entree I went with the fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was crispy, but not over-breaded which is perfect for a sandwich. The sauce was sweet and tangy, a great choice and recommendation from the staff. On top of it all they had a solid tap list with a lot of local options, and our service was exceptional. Definitely recommend.

Came here recently for a happy hour and then for a work luncheon. Cocktails were good (particularly The Heist, which features rye and fernet). Food was alright--had The Intern, which was a steak sandwich with peppers and mushrooms; it came out soggy, but the flavor was pretty decent. Value-wise, the Marq seems reasonable given its central location in the Loop, so it'd be worth coming back to in the future.

Great prices for the high quality of food and being downtown. Lunch time was busy but not overwhelming. Had the poutine with short rib and the chicken sandwich with an extra side of ranch. Delicious glaze on the fried chicken was complemented well by the homemade ranch. Service was also on point. My only complaint was that the fried pickles could have come with about double the amount.

Lunch was wonderful! I had the mac and cheese with braised short ribs. It was creamy and flavorful. The short ribs had rich flavor. My daughter had the BBQ ribs. This was the second time she ordered these and can't stop talking about them. She tends to be a picky eater but she still loved the unique flavor.

Meh Ok, not outstanding. Service was not rude but not friendly. Server didn't even say thanks for coming in. I don't recommend the hamburger. They use two things patties and they're not juicy at all. Fries were good. Atmosphere is new, "modern" sort of an IKEA vibe. At least it's affordable, for a Chicago meal.

Our party of 4 made reservations at 6pm . We arrived a few minutes early and were seated. We told the waitress that we were going to attend the theater at 8pm. She assured us that she would notify the chef of this. An hour and 20 minutes later, I located the waitress and said we needed our food immediately in order to eat it and get to the theater. I pointed out that at table of 6 were eating their meal and they came in a 1/2 hour after us. She said she would talk to the chef and check on our order. The waitress avoided our table after that. The manager came to us about 7:30pm (1 hour 30 min later)and asked us how we were doing. We all told him that this was unacceptable. He told us that it took that long because of what we ordered. We explained politely all that happened and realized we needed to leave in order to get to the theater in time. He never apologized for the wait, nor gave any explanation, and said effectively that we were the ones at fault for what we ordered from their menu. He tried to say that the place was very busy, but that wasn't true. There were tables still empty. We left. We would understand if they explained truthfully what a mistake happened. When they turn the fault on the customer, they don't deserve customers. A zero rating is what I would recommend for we did not eat dinner that night.

So I had what what I usually get at most restaurants. Fried pickles, french fries, and salmon. It was all perfect. The pickles came with a spicy siracha aioli which when blended with the pickles made a spicy and sweet combo that was supurb. The fries were perfect with not to much salt and not to little salt with also the right texture and it was perfectly cooked. The salmon was on a bed of vegetables and fruit, it was amazing and was perfectly cooked. Also the salmon was extra fatty which I like, and also because of that fat it just melted in your mouth and was also very tender. Overall it was fantastic and I would happily eat there again. It also has an exit that leads right to revival food hall in case you want to get dessert there.

Nice gastro pub in a convenient loop location near several major hotels. Good selection of brews and wine by the glass, and several interesting menu items. Among the appetizers we particularly enjoyed the wontons and the poutine. I had the lomo for my main course and it was excellent with a terrific job on the saffron rice. Nice choice for a casual dinner and drinks.

I had the salmon ceviche which was light and fresh with pronounced lime flavor. My dining companions all had burgers which they all deemed delicious. Service was attentive and unobtrusive. Our orders arrived fairly quickly. Sandwiches were in the $15 give-or-take range; salads and appetizers $10-15. If you can, go at 1230 or 1; we had a 15 minute wait at 1230 and there was no waiting for any of the numerous empty tables when we left at 1:30.

First visit. Fast, friendly service. Had the glazed chicken sandwich. While I wasn't overwhelmed with the sandwich itself (mine was slightly over done, combined with the glaze, it was a little messy. But they made up for it), it was creative and flavorful. Ambience was really good, service was great. They really took good care of us. Good place to meet up for casual or business lunch. I'll certainly go back.

Met a friend here for lunch. It was a great atmosphere and a good day for patio sitting. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich. The thing was huge. I needed to eat it with a fork and knife, it was too big, and the sauce was sticky. There food was good tasting - but I would have paid the same amount for a smaller, less saucy sandwich too. Maybe some people will consider that a positive thing though too.

This place was outstanding! The food was excellent and the service on point. What I liked the most as well is that it wasn't super busy when we came by. We arrived for early dinner on Saturday and it just started to get busier when we were about to leave. Having a reservation is a huge plus in Chicago. We tried the vegan sugo which was incredibly delicious! My kids had the peanut butter and jelly and fries, which they deemed the best pb&j ever. My other one had the ribs with mashed potatoes and loved it too. Hubby had the chicken burger and thought it was scrumptious! Everything was smooth. From getting seated, to always having a full glass. Service was splendid and genuine. Very happy to find another great spot to eat at in Chicago!

Definitely a place I'd recommend. Atmosphere is nice and busy for a Wednesday, good friendly staff. The food was wayyy good - diverse enough for someone who would want a classic tavern burger as well as someone looking for a healthier, lighter choice and even a vegan. The fried pickles are probably the best I've had, anywhere. Thin, crisp, not too sour and not soggy, highly recommended. Usually places with diversely cultured menus don't bode well, this place definitely sets a high Marq.

Pretty good appetizers. I had the vegan BBQ jackfruit, and it was ok. It could have used a bit more umami to really make it satisfying. It was also on a bread with too much structure, making it messy and hard to eat. The server was a bit brusque with us due to a member of our party having a dairy allergy. The server didn't mention that dairy was an ingredient in the chicken sandwich, even though the allergy was mentioned. The ambience was very nice and the beer selection is good. I plan to go back for low-key after work get togethers, but I hope that possible allergens are better communicated in the future. On the menu, maybe?

The Chef created a magical Beet dish. Perfect way to spend a foggy afternoon. Well-made, High-end food. The drink menu complemented a selective, rotating menu. Had a 6 pm reservation for pre-Hamilton dinner. Was seated promptly and ordered dinner and drinks within 15 minutes of arriving. We made sure to tell the waitress that we had tickets to the 8 pm show and she indicated she understood. After several inquiries regarding the status of our food order, we left at 7:30 pm without any sign of food arriving. The manager indicated it was our fault our food was delayed because we ordered complicated food from their menu (nobody had any special requests or substitutions from menu selections). Needless to say, would never recommend this place if you hope to eat within 2 hours.

The Marq has become our go to spot for lunch meetings, work events and a place to catch a few minutes of a sporting event. The contemporary setting, the outdoor sitting area in the summer and the proximity to the loop's financial district are big pluses along with the solid food and drinks on the menu. I have been to the Marq over 20 time and hopefully the high standards would keep me a regular. The Mac and cheese, the Marq Burger and steak salad are great options. I recently tried the intern and it is now become one of my favorite items on their menu. The bar staff is pleasant and the drinks options are solid for a loop restaurant/bar entirely dependent on folks working in the loop.

Good food and a nice lunch time atmosphere. Service is good. Avg proce is around $15 for a sandwich with a side. Only issue is with the seating. For some reason every time I go there the host(ess) tries to seat me in the way back, even though there are plenty of open seats towards the front of the restaurant near the windows and natural light.

Brought a new hire and a co-worker here for a first-day lunch. The food was exceptional, with generous portions, and service was perfect. Our server, Brittany, was thoughtful and attentive, especially when we had questions. Highly recommended. Making a reservation online was a cinch.

The bartender, Danny, was the definition of perfect service. He was extremely professional and offered continuous service throughout our dinner experience. He is a true representation of what it means to work in the hospitality industry. If you're ever there on a Thursday or Friday do yourself the favor and make sure you sit at the bar with Danny.
